Jdeveloper OA Framework 11.5.10 RUP7 on Linux

Hi!
Has anyone ever successfully run JDeveloper OA Framework 11.5.10 RUP7 on Linux? I followed the instructions in the documentation and when I type:
. jdev -verbose
I get:
bash: ../../j2sdk1.4.2_04/bin/java: Permission denied
All my files in the jdevbin directory have read and write and execute privileges for everyone.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Rey

Here's the full verbose command that I saved which caused the error above:

  • JDeveloper OA Framework Version for Oracle Release12

    Hi,
    Could you please suggest me, what is the exact JDeveloper OA Framework version for Oracle release 12.
    I want to do some OA Framework customizations in R12
    Regards,
    Ram

    This question would be better asked in the OA Framework forum: OA Framework
    CM.

  • Jdeveloper OA Framework extension

    Hi, I checked the OA Framework version for my instance and came up with this:
    OA Framework Version Information
    OA Framework Version 11.5.10.6RUP.
    MDS Version 9.0.5.4.89 (build 560)
    UIX Version 2.2.24.2
    BC4J Version 9.0.3.9
    I hear I am meant to download a patch of some sort, to have OA Framework extensions in JDeveloper. I already have JDeveloper on my system (Version 10.1.3.4). I'm wondering where I can download the OA Framework extensions for my version of JDeveloper. Can anyone guide me on this. I tried through the "Check for Updates" function in JDeveloper but came up with nothing. Metalink is not being too helpful and I'm a bit confused. Can anyone help guide me in the right direction so that I can download the OA Framework extensions and tutorials. Thank you very much.

    Hi,
    If you got ur solution please mark somebody reply as helpful or correct. So that the other person will also happy.
    Thanks

  • JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 download for linux showing specs for 11.1.1.5.0

    Hi,
    While downloading Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0 for linux from : http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/downloads/jdeveloper11116-1377208.html
    On selection of Linux Install from drop down under Studio Edition: 11.1.1.6.0 ,the Prerequisites & Recommended Install Process showing :
    Prerequites and recommended components for Oracle JDeveloper 11g (11.1.1.5.0) Linux
    Is it because these are same for both 11.1.1.6 and 11.1.1.5 version?
    Thanks,
    Anirban

    Yes, that´s probably the case.
    You have to fulfill the prerequisites for 11.1.1.5.0 at least.

  • Fields not autopopulating after RUP7 patch

    All
    I have a custom page that when you select a value from a list of value based on your selection it will populate the rest of the fields in the page. It was working with out a problem. After we apply the RUP7 Patch, the page is no longer getting populated with when we select a value from the list of value.
    We thought that we just needed to recompile the page with the newer version of J developer but it did not help

    I tried the following:
         Recompiled the page using the recommended version of Jdeveloper OA framework 11.2.10.RUP7
         Redeployed the page in DEV
         Set user profile option per Oracle request
         I tried each package call in TOAD and they are all returning values as expected
         I strip the codes that call packages to get default values and replace it with hard coded values
         I changed the code
    o     From
    String event = pageContext.getParameter(event);
    If (“lovUpdate”.equals(event))
    o     To what was in the RUP7 document
    If (pageContext.isLovEvent()
    None of these worked

  • Xml publisher 5.6.2 and jdeveloper

    Problem :
    I wanted to generate a pdf from a OA page. I was successful ingenerating the PDF from a OA Page but the problem is I am not able to find suitable xml publisher libraries to include in the Jdeveloper
    OA Framework Version 11.5.10.CU1.
    Requested soultion for
    Please provide me the list of libraries xml publisher to be included in jdeveloper.
    Approach for Libraries:
    Took XDO/ORACLE XML PUBLISHER OA ROLLUP PATCH 5.6.0 and extracted the zip file j456151.zip from the patch and included it as a library. My class compiled. But when I run from jdev the output is not generated. But I put the class on the JAVA_TOP it worked.
    If it has worked why do I need libraries?
    xml publisher is very powerful and I want to use the other features like data template and delivery manager. I want need corrrect libraries in jdeveloper.
    Experience with Oracle Support
    Oracle XML Publisher Support was of little help. I really felt helpless. I had to dig out everything from the patches. For oracle internal managers who want to see that we get proper support the tar number is
    5619199.992 NEED AN EXAMPLE FOR USING XML PUBLISHDOC...
    Severity: 3 , OS: n/a
    Below is the approach I just followed if you have a better way please let me know.
    Approach for gererating PDF which worked:
    In the Application Module :
    public ClobDomain getXMLData()
    GapProjectListVORowImpl row = getSelectedProjectRow();
    ClobDomain cd = new ClobDomain();
    if(row != null)
    try{
    cd.getCharacterOutputStream().write("<?xml version=\"1.0\" encoding='windows-1252'?>\n");
    cd.getCharacterOutputStream().write("<AllNodes>");
    oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement ele = (oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement)getGapCostDetailsVO1().writeXML(0,XMLInterface.XML_OPT_ALL_ROWS);
    ele.print(new java.io.PrintWriter(cd.getCharacterOutputStream()));
    ele = (oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement)getGapCostTotalsVO1().writeXML(0,XMLInterface.XML_OPT_ALL_ROWS);
    ele.print(new java.io.PrintWriter(cd.getCharacterOutputStream()));
    ele = (oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLElement)row.writeXML(0,XMLInterface.XML_OPT_ALL_ROWS);
    ele.print(new java.io.PrintWriter(cd.getCharacterOutputStream()));
    cd.getCharacterOutputStream().write("</AllNodes>");
    //System.out.println(cd.toString());
    catch(Exception e)
    e.printStackTrace();
    return cd;
    In the controller use
    ClobDomain xmlData=(ClobDomain)am.invokeMethod("getXMLData");
    if(xmlData!=null)
    byte[] bytes = xmlData.toByteArray();
    ByteArrayInputStream l_erXML=new ByteArrayInputStream(xmlData.toString().getBytes());
    DocumentHelper.exportDocument(pageContext,"CDM","XXCDMGAP","en","US",l_erXML,"PDF",null);
    }

    Create a JAR file with $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/fnd and $JAVA_TOP/oracle/apps/xdo. You can have them in the same jar file or separate JAR files. The oracle directory MUST be the top directory.
    Add this/these jar files to your project libraries in JDev and you are ready to go. I have used this method with XMLP 5.5 to 5.6.2 and works just fine.

  • Testing Jdeveloper 9.0.3 (OA Ext)

    Hi:
    I am following the instruction to test the jdev with OA extension. I 'm not able to run the test_fwktutorial.jsp. I check all my projects setting and dbc file setting and they all look fine to me. The OA toolbox tutorial seems to function normally on the server while testing it directly using that responsibility.
    Here is my error:
    oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Application: FND, Message Name: SYSTEM-ERROR. Tokens: MESSAGE = No suitable driver; (Could not lookup message because there is no database connection)
    The setup doc (gs_setup.htm) points to putting the server dbc file on your testing env which use the path: <JDEV_USER_HOME>\myhtml\OA_HTML\secure which the installation does not have. It only has <JDEV_USER_HOME>\myhtml\OA_HTML. I manually create the subdir 'secure' and put my dbc file there but it's not working. Anybody has the same experience? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    i want to run the tutorial which comes along with jDeveloper OA Framework.
    I am using jDeveloper 9.0.3 with Oracle Apps 11.5.10 (Vision) with OA Framework 11.5.10 K.
    I am reading the PDf "Oracle Applications Framework: Developer's Guide" and moving ahead as per the book
    I have taken all the necessary files for running the tutorial by opening the tutorial workspace and project. I have given responsibilty "FWK_TBX_TUTORIAL" .also. I have also taken the .DBC file from the server. and have made connection with apps/ apps and VIS as SID. All the files get complied with 26 warnings.
    I am facing 2 problems.
    Firstly when we run the test_fwktutorial.jsp, it gives "No Suitable Driver" error. This error can be rectified by changing the ".dbc" file at "/d02/oracle/visuatappl/fnd/11.5.0/secure "
    The property "APPS_JDBC_URL" has to be modified. In this all the "\" (back- slash) has to be removed.
    Do i need to make change only at the place where my jDeveloper is placed or also at Server.
    Secondly
    After making this change, the error goes but second error comes.
    oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Application: ICX, Message Name: Could not find the specified responsibility. (Could not lookup message because there is no database connection)

    Run the http://xxx:8000/OA_HTML/jsp/fnd/aoljtest.jsp
    Give all the login details. Click on "Enter AOL/J Setup Test" .
    Then click on "Verify DBC settings".
    This gives error

    To resolve this check metaLink Note "297165.1"
    Now if i run AutoConfig as per metalink note, which i have checked at my Local Instance.The problem does not go. Even the first problem comes back. And then i again have to manually change the dbc file "Removing the back-slash".
    So please help me out , how to go about it.

  • JDeveloper with  Non-Apps DB

    Hi..
    I think it is mandatory to have Apps DB to use JDeveloper(OA Framework).(Runtime connection in JDev requires Application Short Name and Responsibility Key).
    Is it possible to use JDev gainst a normal DB ie which is not an Apps instance?

    If you are looking to develop an OA page, then it has to be an apps DB. You can use a custom schema to separate your data from apps schema though if that suits your requirements.

  • OA Framework Newbie.....A true infant @ Framework setup.  Help!

    Hello,
    I am a newbie to the JDeveloper & OA Framework technical community. I am trying to educate myself on the proper way to extend Oracle apps framework pages using JDeveloper, however I do not even know where to begin. I am looking for several things such as
    * Where can I download JDeveloper with OA extension?
    * How do I load pages from the apps server to my desktop for the purpose of viewing or changing an OA Framework page?
    * Any tips or documentation path that should be read and reviewed in order acclimate myself to framework and extending pages?
    I am really just looking for guidance on a starting point to begin my education. I have an immediate need to begin learning this technology. Any guidance would be incredibly appreciated. Thanks.

    Nice to see that issue is closed now. These kind of comments has come up earlier also and I never mind and I never bothered to write back, but I guess it is being taken as a negative thing on me. It probably will serve as a reference for any such future issues:
    user572312,
    I found your response to my posting to be interesting.....and quite frankly inappropriate.
    If you are really being frank, you should have understood the advise and there is nothing wrong with that. Not sure what a poster feels, but any regular contributor will say the same. Remember, here on forum we don't provide the solution but the suggestions which sometimes may be the exact solution. Most of the forums have this pointed out in a sticky threads, we also wanted to do the same, but unfortunately none of us have access to that feature.
    If my question was of offense to you, that was not my intent. I apologize if you were put off by the fact that I am new to this and asked what I thought was a harmless question.
    Your question was not an offence to me, neither I feel offended :) You don't need to apologize. All that was wrong was probably the expectations and understanding.
    If you have nothing relevant to ask, then why post anything at all? Did you serve your purpose by replying in the manner that you did? Just curious.
    Well I guess now you have got the point that you should search first before posting the issue. Doesn't that serve the purpose. As for the manner, I don't see anything wrong. That is a plain flat line, no scolding or any abusive word :)
    Keith,
    Thanks for pointing out that we don't get paid 100$ for each post :) Will check your issue when I get time. Hope you understand that every issue can't be replied from the top of the head withing a few seconds and you have to first finish the work for which you are getting paid.
    The reason I keep saying to check old threads is that I know there is one/more similar existing threads. If its not there, I don't mention it. You probably are not appreciating the fact that someone has spent a lot of time and responding based on that effort. In
    my job, if someone can assure me that this particular requirement is feasible, my 50% job is done. If someone can confirm that I can use a particular feature or functionality to tackle the issue, 75% of the job is done. That probably will give you some idea. Now, how hard is it to perform the search when you are confirmed that solution exists, or you want responder to search & provide the exact link. If there are N number of similar threads, that's because people are posting again and again without searching for existing ones.
    Just for the example, take the words from this thread title "OA Framework", add beginner and search in google (search on forum page will give lot more results, but assuming many people don't know this feature), the very 1st relevant result shown is
    this link Help me For learning OA Framework . Reading through this thread will make you forget all the above comments against me. Remember that response also depends on how much homework the poster has done and how actively he is involved.
    This is another such similar instance [a really rude one] which I remember Re: i lost Message Styled Text bean - please help me to find it .
    As usual I won't like to comment much off the OAF topic. Only reason I wrote this, so that we have a reference for any such future comments.
    Thanks guys for updating the thread before me, I think that speaks more than anything. As many guys here have already mentioned, this is one of the best maintained, quick and user friendly forums where hardly any OAF related issue goes unanswered, lets keep going in the same direction. Its good to see many more upcoming consistent contributors.
    And finally user572312, If you are not happy the way I write, I will respect your view and not touch any of your threads.
    No more updates are appreciated :)

  • Problems trying to run JDeveloper 9.0.2 on Linux

    Dear All,
    I am facing problems while trying to run JDeveloper 9.0.2 (release 2) on my Linux machine.
    When I invoke jdev/bin/jdev file, the well-known JDeveloper window starts up, but in my console I keep on getting the following error:
    JDeveloper Error:
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
    at oracle.ide.marshal.xml.Object2Dom.getNamespaceURI(Object2Dom.java:1158)

    The situation becomes even more irritating when I realise that almost all actions that I try to perform (like when I try to add a new Project) are not executed (while I keep on getting the SAME error in my console as above with only the number of the final line that indicates where the first call occured changed).
    Does anybody have any idea of what kind of dependency I may have forgotten and where ? The error seems to be related with some kind of xml (parser maybe ?) incompatibility ... Any clues ?

    JDeveloper is only supported with JDK 1.3.1_02 as we are aware of some issues with 1.3.1_04. Can you try with JDK 1.3.1_02 and see whether the problem still reproduces.
    Thanks,
    Lisa
    JDev QA Dear Lisa,
    As I have stated within my previous reply to your immediate answer/response, today I reverted my production PC at work to operate with a single processor Linux kernel (2.4.18-4GB) and also installed JDK 1.3.1_02 but still get the same irritating error that apparently does not allow me perform almost any action at all:

    No matter what the action that is to be performed is, the JDeveloper application insists on reporting the above mentioned problem and almost always refuses to perform the desired activity!
    Based on your more advanced knowledge of the underlying architecture of JDeveloper, do you happen to have a more clear idea about it and especially the "oracle.ide.marshal.xml.Object2Dom.getNamespaceURI(Object2Dom.java:1158)" case ?
    Is there anything that I have forgotten to properly configure during the installation of jdeveloper ?
    Any other clues that could further assist me ? I am afraid I am still desperate for any king of useful derictives ?
    I would once again like to thank you for your concern,
    Best regards,

  • Jdeveloper Multi-language: How to start with a diffenent language?

    I am using jdeveloper version 11.1.1.3.0 on linux. How can I start my jdeveloper in a different language other than the OS language setting? I want to change the display of my jdeveloper to a different language (i.e French).
    I tried the following:
    Modified the jdev.conf file in jdev/bin folder to add the following JVM parameter.
    AddVMOption -Duser.language=fr
    AddVMOption -Duser.country=FR
    Then, when I start the jdeveloper, I get the following info message:
    INFO: Locale fr_FR is not supported by this product. Forcing locale to en_US.
    any idea?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply. I am actually creating a jdeveloper extension and like to support multiple language for that extension. I created properties resource bundle files (i.e bundlename.properties, bundlename_fr.properties) file and put all my text there. Then I use a method in java class to extract those text values which looks like the following:
        private static String getStringForBundle(String key, Locale locale){
            if(locale == null){
                locale = Locale.getDefault();
            ResourceBundle bundle;
            if (locale != null){
                bundle = ResourceBundle.getBundle(BUNDLE_NAME,locale);
            else
                bundle = ResourceBundle.getBundle(BUNDLE_NAME);
            return bundle.getString(key);
        }I like to test this extension in French or other language, So, I wanted to start the jdeveloper with that language. Can I do that?
    I modified the jdev.conf file to add the following
    AddVMOption -Duser.language=ja
    AddVMOption -Duser.country=JP
    As you mentioned, jdeveloper supports japanese language, I can see it's been translated to japanese. Now, if jdeveloper only support japanese, then does it mean that my jdev extension will also only support japanese?
    Thanks

    I got my answer. Jdeveloper only support Japanese language other than English. Since, jdeveloper only supports japanese language, it's extension will also only support Japanese and English(same JVM).

  • JDeveloper, PostgreSQL on Linux ?

    Hi,
    I am wondering whether the JDeveloper can connect to the PostgreSQL, running on linux?
    and how to connect them.
    Thanks a lot
    Peter

    Hi,
    I am wondering whether the JDeveloper can connect to the PostgreSQL, running on linux?
    and how to connect them.This isn't a configuration we've tried ourselves, however the steps for all 3rd party JDBC drivers are essentially the same.
    In short:
    1) Put your .jar or .zip file for your JDBC driver in the $JDEV_HOME/jdev/lib/ext directory
    2) Restart JDeveloper
    3) Create a connection
    3a) choose 3rd party JDBC driver
    3b) on page 3: enter the full class name and then URL for your connection. The postgres documentation for the jdbc driver should have information as to the format of the URL and the class name which implements java.sql.Driver
    4) Also, you'll want to make a library also which contains this JDBC driver and add this newly created library to each project which will be using the postgres jdbc driver.
    Hope this helps,
    Rob

  • JDeveloper 11g - JDK vs OpenJDK?

    Hi all,
    Have anyone tried to use JDeveloper with OpenJDK insted of JDK?
    New linux distros are all coming with openJDK, so I wonder if I can use JDev with OpenJDK and what's the difference?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    the difference is that Open JDK is an ope source version and JDK the SUN version of the spec.

  • 4.0EA3 Large cache file in roaming profile

    I tried running 4.0 EA3 on my Windows 7 64-bit PC with the 64-bit JDK. I then immediately got a warning about my roaming profile exceeding the maximum space allocated. We have 60 MB allocated and I was using 30 MB or less prior to running EA3.
    It appears the culprits are the files in %APPDATA%\SQL Developer\system4.0.0.13.30\system_cache\var\cache, specifically the all-resources.dat file which was just over 30 MB in size. I can delete this file, but it of course is re-created when SQL Developer is run again. Since these are cache files, should they perhaps be stored somewhere in %LOCALAPPDATA% instead?
    I had not tried the previous EA releases, so I do not know if this is specific to EA3 or not. I have not had this problem with releases prior to 4.0, though. Our developers will not be able to use 4.0 in our environment if it blows their roaming profile space allocation.

    Hi cspez,
    SQL Developer 4.0 inherited the system_cache requirement from the latest JDeveloper IDE framework on which it is based.  To avoid the maximum space limitation your admins have placed on the roaming profile, try adding a line to your sqldeveloper.conf file:
    AddVMOption -Dide.user.dir=<path>
    where <path> begins with something other than %APPDATA%
    Hope this helps,
    Gary
