JDeveloper - WDK - Linux

Hello,
I tried to install the Wireless Development Kit on my Linux box, but it didn't succeed.
JDeveloper installs the WDK 'correctly', the new setting option, and the extended Run menu appears, but importing the XForms component palette and deploying the wdk applications into the embedded OC4J server fails.
While the install JDev throws the following exception:

Any idea?
Thanks in advance,

Yesterday evening I played a bit with the stuff, and I solved the problem partly.
I copied the wdk.ear to $JDEV_USER_DIR/system9.0.5.2.1618/oc4j-config/applications then I added the following line to $JDEV_USER_DIR/system9.0.5.2.1618/oc4j-config/server.xml:
<application name="wdk" path="/pathtoyourjdevuserdir/system9.0.5.2.1618/oc4j-config/applications/wdk.ear"/>
(under the bc4j application line)
and the following lines to $JDEV_USER_DIR/system9.0.5.2.1618/oc4j-config/default-web-site.xml:
<web-app application="wdk" name="wdk-web" root="/wdk" load-on-startup="false"/>
<web-app application="wdk" name="examples-web" root="/examples" load-on-startup="false"/>
<web-app application="wdk" name="resource-web" root="/mcs/resource" load-on-startup="false"/>
And now it works!

    how to use jdeveloper with linux?
    Hello, i've download jdeveloper, and i have java1.4 installed. But i can't run jdeveloper i have jdev.exe and jdev but when i put /usr/local/jdev/bin/jdev a have a message like file not found. I don't know what to do.
    Help please!!!
    Ori.

    You need to go to the directory where you unzipped JDeveloper, for example:
    cd opt/jdev/jdevj2eebase1013/jdev/bin
    Once there, do this:
    chmod +x jdev
    chmod +x ojc
    Now you can try this:
    nohup ./jdev &
    or simply
    ./jev
    I usually create a soft link in ~/bin

    If im not mistaken, the error is because you do not have your computer name in your host file.
    Generally this file is /etc/hosts
    But this location and name varies on Linux Distors.

    Do you have any suggestions how to fix issue ? I've tried to reinstall but the same problem appear.
    Right now I am unable to work at my project .
    Thank you,
    Andrei

    It seems that is not specific to a certain adf-config.xml . I've tried with two different already existing projects, and I also started a new project from scratch - it crashes in the same manner.
    This problem is jdev11122 specific. The problem doesn't reproduce on jdev11115 (on the same machine).
    PS: Today I've switched to jdev11122 . In about 2 hours of usage it randomly crashed (exiting) several times. The opening of an adf-config.xml was the single reproducible crash I could obtain.
    Oher info: I am using a 3.2.0-25-generic-pae kernel, linux distribution is xubuntu (xfce) 12.04 .

    I work at a facility where I had to get the admin to login on my linux box to install JDeveloper! I don't have root access!
    I had Jdev installed and working fine, serving html and jsp's to my local browser! This monday morning I re-booted my machine and the server portion of JDev no longer works.

  • Add SOA Composite Editor to jDeveloper on Linux

    Hi guys,
    I downloaded jDeveloper, once the Oracle JDeveloper 11g (11.1.2.0.0) (Build 6017)Installations and once the Generic Release Java Edition: 11.1.2.0.0 and wanted to add the SOA Composite Editor to it.
    Usually it should be possible to add it via the Help/Check for Updates Interface, shouldn't it?
    I made two screenshot so that you can see that the SOA extension does not show up.

    As per the release notes, it's not available for this release - use 11.1.1.5 if you need SOA

    I have used jDeveloper on Windows to build BPEL Projects without a problem. However most of the time I work on a linux machine and wanted to install the Development Version of BPEL on it.

    The same exact workflow compliles and deploys successfully on windows. I've looked at all the classpaths and libraries and cannot find any differences between Windows and Linux installs. I even tried to copy the lib directories from the windows machine to the linux machine incase there was a bad .jar file or class, but still no luck. Is anyone successfully running jDeveloper on Linux and depolying BPEL Projects?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    On my linux laptop, when I create a new BPEL project, I must add the ORABPEL library to the project. Then I can compile my project. Could this be the issue onyour side?

    I have JDeveloper 10.1.3 running just fine on a Ubuntu machine - straight Ubuntu, not one of the variations like Kubuntu. The toughest part was getting Sun's Java Development Kit set up properly - the GNU Java that came with the OS wasn't good enough. But once I got that installed, it was - unzip the files, change the configuration file to point it at the JDK directory, and run it. Optionally, add it to the desktop and/or menus.

  • Is the Jdeveloper 10.1.3.1 production only for windows OS

    Hi again user,
    I checked the installation guide, and it had information for installing on macintosh... I don't have a mac, so I cannot comment if the instructions are correct. I'm pasting the unix and mac instructions to see if it might help you.

  • ORA-01882: timezone region  not found happens on LINUX only?

    Hi there...
    I trying to use JDeveloper under linux, and the problem I am having is there when I run the application I get the ORA-01882 error. According to the forum, I should set the timezone in the project properties using -Duser.timezone="+01:00" according to the required timezone. I tried running the same project using JDeveloper under windows and I don't get this exception, however under linux I don't seem to fix this. Is there something I am missing here?
    advice please.
    thank you.

    Hi there...
    thanks for the link, I already found such solution, anyway I solved the problem by using the timezone:
    Asia/Culcutta
    however if I use a timezone using some kind of a number like
    +03:00
    for example , then it wont.
    What I found is that using +03:00 under windows machine works fine, but using it under linux triggers the error which is strange.
    thanks anyway.
    yours
