Jdeveloper with maven dependencies

hello all,
I'm starting with jdeveloper did the integration with maven, but the dependencies are not downloaded to the project trying to add the dependency. Can someone help me?

If you wish to add a dependency from maven's local repository you can always modify the pom file directly.
Have you done this? is it not working for you?
Have you tried adding something like
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>junit</groupId>
<artifactId>junit</artifactId>
<version>3.8.1</version>
<scope>test</scope>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
to your projects pom file?

  • JDeveloper project libraries and Maven dependencies

    hi

    questions:
    (1) This seems to severely limit the options to share such a JDeveloper project file between developers in a team (e.g. using Subversion), because they would need their Maven repository and their JDeveloper project to be in the same (relative) location. Is this intended? Are there any options to work around these limitations?
    (2) If a project evolves, and additional libraries need to be configured in a JDeveloper project, what would be the preferred approach to keep these in sync with Maven dependency configurations?
    many thanks
    Jan Vervecken

    Hi Jan,
    Yes, some of the current approach is not ideal.
    +"Maven's primary goal is to allow a developer to comprehend the complete state of a development effort in the shortest period of time."+ - By having the pom.xml define for the project, I get the ability to run site goals, junit tests and other maven reports - get a feel for the project state. Even with a very basic pom.xml file containing the groupId, ArtifactId, version, SVN repository definition and the release plugin you gain the ability to use "mvn release:clean release:prepare" to help with tagging the source in SVN. These represent progress as up to this point the team has not had access to this.
    +"Making the build process easy".+ - The approach does make the build part easier for JDeveloper 10.1.2. As a maven build, it is now possible to check the project into SVN and have it built by Bamboo, without having to include an installation of JDeveloper 10.1.2 (for library access) on the CI server.
    +"If I understand correctly, in your approach, you are trying to keep both pom.xml and JDeveloper project files up-to-date manually?"+ - The only reason for keeping the JPR in sync with the pom.xml file is to allow the developers to still make use of features such as selecting run from the right click menu. At present, I am still slowly getting up to speed on how JDeveloper works and interacts with OC4J. Ultimately, you would want a maven plugin that will deploy the packaged WAR or EAR to the OC4J stand-alone or remote instance. This plugin would probably wrap the commands that the IDE uses, e.g.
    If you right click on the deployment profile for a project (JDeveloper 10.1.2) and select the Platform > Standalone OC4J options, you find:
    Deploying Ear+
    ${java} ${jvm.max.heap.size} -jar ${admin.jar}
    ${oc4j.url} ${username} ${password}
    -deploy -file ${ear.file}
    -deploymentName ${j2ee.app.name}
    Binding Web Apps+
    ${java} -jar ${admin.jar}
    ${oc4j.url} ${username} ${password}
    -bindWebApp ${j2ee.app.name} ${j2ee.web.app.name}
    ${oc4j.web.site} ${j2ee.context.root}
    And for Platform > OracleAS Remote DCM:
    ${java} -Djava.protocol.handler.pkgs=HTTPClient
    -jar ${Oc4jDcmClient.jar}
    ${dcm.servlet.url} ${username} ${password}
    redeploy ${remote.oracle.home}
    ${ear.file} ${j2ee.app.name} ${oc4j.instance.name}
    With a maven plugin- wrapping the deployment (possible even to the embedded OC4J) you could then look at get away without maintaining the libraries in the JPR. The JPR the becomes the configuration file for the IDE interaction only without affecting the build. For debugging, you can deploy to a standalone instance and start it using:
    java -server -Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,server=y,suspend=n,address=4000 -jar oc4j.jar
    Then connect to the port specified. The primary project I was working on was developed in Netbeans and deployed to SJSAS. I have since switch this project to working with JDeveloper 11.1.1 as the IDE and doing remote debugging from the IDE connecting to the SJSAS debug port.
    Note, that the maven plugin development for the managing of these aspects should be easier with JDeveloper 11.1.1 and the integrated WLS.
    Have you used this approach in a project that uses ADF Business Components? - Yes, I have used it on one of the smaller ADF projects that had already been produced by the team. This project has all the maven features and ability to deploy to the remotes AS via ant scripts. The approach worked in both the dev and test environments. However, for final deployment, I still used the deployment profile to be consistent with the rest of the team.
    Regards,
    Graeme.

    Hi.
    I'd like to build a java project with maven. That project uses Crystal Reports.  I have added all Crystal Reports jar files in the folder lib (from the runtime download) to my maven dependencies. But i get always the following error message.

    did you list them in the dependencies in your pom file?

    Hi,
    I am building javax.mail.jar using with the source of "JavaMail 1.4.4 source code", downloaded from http://kenai.com/projects/javamail/downloads , we have some customized changes in few source java files (regarding IMAP and response) of this source, otherwise no changes we have done in this source for building mail jar with maven.

    Looks like there is some sun plugin being used there. Might be that you need the java.net nexus repository so maven can fetch plugin dependencies from it.

  • Maven dependencies for JSF 2 and IceFaces 2

    i have a Spring JSF 2 project which is using IceFaces 2, and i made the project use JSF and IceFaces libraries from properties>project facets, and added jsf capabilities to the project, then used a user library JSF 2.1 Mojara (ICEsoft Technologies), then added icefaces capabilities too,
    what i want to do is add those jars for JSF 2, IceFaces2 in pom file as maven dependencies
    any help ?

    JSF you can find in the java.net repository.
    http://maven2-repository.java.net/
    Whenever you want to find the maven repository and or groupId/artifactId for any dependency, do a google search for "maven <API NAME>". Then look for a link to either the maven central, java.net or jboss.org repositories (the three most reliable ones). When I typed "maven icefaces" into google, I got this link in the top three:

  • Accessing LCDS application built with maven

    Hi,
    Because LCDS application is WAR, I deployed all adobe artifacts to local maven repository and created maven archetype as project template.
    We use JBOSS 5.1 with LCDS 3.0 on Redhat linux 5.5. Then I installed Flash Builder 4 with Flex SDK 3.4.1 on my workstation.
    I created web application and deployed it to JBOSS. We need to integrate flash builder with RDS. I mapped SFTP network drive in my workstation to redhat server. Created flex application with J2EE using LiveCycleDS RDS. Root folder is set to directory on SFTP network drive and URL is http://server:8080/myapp.
    Everything seems to be OK. But validation says: Only LiveCycle Data Services 2.6 and higher are supported.
    My application is in fact copy of lcds.war, so where is the problem? I started to debug sftp server on redhat to discover what files is flash builder accessing. And
    answer is that flash builder access these 2 files:
    Mar  8 11:22:41 lc-single sftp-server[8972]: stat name "$ROOT_FOLDER/WEB-INF/lib/flex-messaging-data.jar"
    Mar  8 11:22:41 lc-single sftp-server[8904]: stat name "$ROOT_FOLDER/WEB-INF/lib/flex-messaging-core.jar"
    As you know, all maven dependencies have version. So dependencies have name artifactId-version.jar It looks like you must have 2 explicitly named jar files in your WEB-INF/lib directory to integrate LCDS application with flash builder. Of course, after renaming these 2 files everything works properly...
    Is this feature?

  • BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE error: valuated with object dependencies

    Hi expert,
    having programmed an extension for a customer for automatic maintenance of characteristic values of technical object, we have come across an error.
    When using BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE to change a characteristic followed by BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT (without wait) we have two scenarios:
    1. if the technical object has no value in the characteristic before calling  BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE  the characteristic will be set.
    2. if there is already a value set there is an error stating
    Characteristic 'XYZ' valuated with object dependencies (old value '00')
    However, I can't find a dependency definition in CT04. do you know what's wrong here,or what is a usual cause of that?
    thanks

    Thus it seems FlexPMD can no longer be used with Maven due to some sort of binary incompatibility issue...
    Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

    Hooray, I got to the bottom of issue.
    Basically the flex PMD maven plugin is broken at version 1.2 with more recent version of  maven-site-plugin.  This is because of a new abstract method introduced to the class AbstractMavenReport - canGenerateReport();
    This method isn't implemented in the FlexPmdMojo and FlexPmdReportMojo classes on the SVN trunk or in flexPMD 1.2 and was causing >mvn site to fail as outlined above. Add implementations of this method, returning true in both classes and the plugin works again!
    Note the method also needs to be added to the relevant Mojo and ReportMojo classes for the FlexMetrics and CPD maven plugins to get them working too.
    Flex PMD commiters - please release a new version of the project to resolve this showstopper!

  • How team should work with maven

    Could somebody to explain how the team should work with maven.
    For example.
    10 developers and 1 team lead are working together.
    Everyones has the own module in development.
    Next, one made the changes in his module and marked it like
    <version>1.3</version>? And say to neighbor whous modul is depend on his: "will be make your modul to point version 1.3 for my
    <artifactId>his-app</artifactId>
    <version>1.3</version> ? Or how?
    If he to point the unexisting version the maven will swear.
    And next. There's something pom.xml for team lead on top level of another modules of developers which team lead to use for assebling?
    Help please to understand how to use this framework

    It sounds like the functionality you are looking for is what maven calls snapshots. This allows developers to build and deploy the latest code base on the fly and maven can grab the latest releases without having to continually update the pom.

  • How to use jdeveloper with linux?

    how to use jdeveloper with linux?
    Hello, i've download jdeveloper, and i have java1.4 installed. But i can't run jdeveloper i have jdev.exe and jdev but when i put /usr/local/jdev/bin/jdev a have a message like file not found. I don't know what to do.
    Help please!!!
    Ori.

    You need to go to the directory where you unzipped JDeveloper, for example:
    cd opt/jdev/jdevj2eebase1013/jdev/bin
    Once there, do this:
    chmod +x jdev
    chmod +x ojc
    Now you can try this:
    nohup ./jdev &
    or simply
    ./jev
    I usually create a soft link in ~/bin

  • Patch 7315332 - 10G Jdeveloper with OA Extension ARU for R12.1

    Hi,
    I would have a look at the JDeveloper with OA Extension ARU for R12.1 (cause we will upgrade to R12.1), just to see the features and try to open "old" projects created with the patch 6739235 (11i).
    Do you know where I can download a trial version?
    Thanks a lot,
    Rosanna.

    Rosanna,
    Should be the same place you get the other patches - "My Oracle Support" - the site formerly known as Metalink.
    You would have more luck getting appropriate answers on the OA Framework Forum as well.
