JDK 1.6.0_43 to JDK1.7.0_11
We have recently upgraded the Java used with our Development E-Business Suite 11i(11.5.2.10) RUP7 from JDK 1.6.0_43 to JDK1.7.0_11. We have now completed the testing and we would like to downgrade the java to JDK 1.6.0_43. When we run the command "txkrun.pl -script=SetJDKCfg -force=Yes" to downgrade Java, we are getting error message "Already on a higher version 1.7.0_11. Can not downgrade to 1.6.0_43.". Is there a way to downgrade Java?

What is the document you have followed to upgrade to JDK 1.7.0_11?
Please implement the steps in (Using J2SE Version 6 with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i [ID 401561.1]) to use JDK 1.6 with EBS. If this doesn't help then you need to restore the files from the backup you have taken before you upgraded JDK.
Thanks,
Hussein

When I try to visit a VM by console, firefox prompt "need to install plugins".
Then I go back to config the VNCVIEWER.
1)/opt/oc4j/java/jdk1.5.0_11/bin/keytool -genkey -alias vncviewer -validity 365
execute successfully
2) But when I execute
[root@OVMServer Class]# /opt/oc4j/java/jdk1.5.0_11/bin/jarsigner vncviewer.jar vncviewer
Enter Passphrase for keystore: oracle123
jarsigner: unable to open jar file: vncviewer.jar
I don't know why this command failed.
Thanks,My vncviewer is called "VncViewer.jar" (with capital V's), is located in "/opt/oc4j/j2ee/home/applications/OVS/webapp1/Class/" and is from package "tightvnc-java-1.3.9-3".
I had no such difficulties signing that particular file, using the "Oracle VM Manager Installation Guide Release 2.1": http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11081_01/doc/doc.21/e10902.pdf -
Hello,
we have installed 5.10 on a i86pc. After doing updates with the updatemanager smc is not starting anymore. I got an font warning "Unable to load any usable ISO8859-1 font" and a following java error from this. I get this with both x-interfaces common and java-desktop.
I have checked jdk version and if patch 121118-12 is not installed, both is ok.
How can i fix this?
Rigoletto

Hi,
we have updated our System to SPS 14 (MW+BE) to make our clients vista ready. I have create a new setup package and updated the Java version of the client to jdk 1.5.0_11. After Starting the client I get the "Time Out 61 Error". The Startup Output seems to be good, all variables are set. And I dont know what to do.
Her is the Output from the Startup.bat
If anyone have a clou that can help me, makes me very glad.

JDK with SQL Developer 3.2.20 Not Latest Version 6 Update
SQL Developer Team,
Why doesn't the new version 3.2.20.09 have the latest JDK 6 Update 37. It still has Update 35 which has security vulnerabilities.
Also, the download web page here
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/downloads/index.html
says it is Update 11 "Windows 32-bit - zip file includes the JDK1.6.0_11"
Bob SWhy doesn't the new version 3.2.20.09 have the latest JDK 6 Update 37Timing. Update 37 was not available until 10/16. Update 35 (08/30) had only recently been included due to Oracle Cloud requirements.
As a convenience, one of the 32-bit Windows downloads includes a JDK. There is no commitment to provide the most recent update.

Gary

Installation issue: Sun one web server 6.1 SP5 with JDK1.6 on Windows XP
Hi,
I am trying to install sun one webserver 6.1 SP5 on my system which has windows XP operating system for the development work. the JDK version i am using is JDK1.6.
While installing sun one webserver at step where i can use custom java development kit i am providing path for the JDK1.6 in "JDK Path" text box as "C:\Java\jdk1.6.0_11".
while clicking next it throws me error "The version of selected JDK is too old". i don;t have any other version of JDK installed on my system.
Can any one tell me what can be the problem here?
Regards,
NemishCan you try Web Server 7.0 update 6?
BTW JDK version you are using has security vulnerabilities. Please upgrade to the latest JDK
as per [http://sunsolve.sun.com/search/document.do?assetkey=1-66-263489-1]
This issue is addressed in the following Java SE and Java SE for Business releases for Windows, Solaris, and Linux:
* JDK and JRE 6 Update 15 or later
* JDK and JRE 5.0 Update 20 or later -
JRun4 updater 6 with JDK1.6
When trying to compile a jsp page for the first time, the
container creates only a .java and .ct file in the WEB-INF/jsp
directory. Nothing out of the ordinary in the -err, -event, or -out
logfile.
This error occured when running JDK1.6.0, I changed to
JDK1.5.0_11 and everything seems to work OK.
I am running Windows Server 2003 with JRun4 updater 6 along
with hotfix 61237 (JRun hanging if a servlet calls another servlet
in init method) and hotfix 64008 (JSP compilation errors for
depreciated methods with JDK 1.5)
Can anybody else confirm this?
Any ideas?JRun is not supported on jdk 1.6.

Where to download the appropriate JDK for Windows 64 bits ?
Hi nice people,
i have donwloaded the latest version of SQL developr for x86-64 bits.
The JDK is not bundled with.
A link is provided for downloading it. I have downloaded Java SE 7. But sqldeveloper did not not like it he said something like, this is not a supported version of JDK something. Now when I try to run sqldevelopper I get a nice error message "Unable to start because MSVCR100.dll is not found".
What can i do now ?
if only I could download the "good" version of the JDK, but unfortunately on the site we see Java 6, or Java 7 but we do not see something like "JDK1.6.0_11".
Thank you for helping a dummy java DBA.
ChristianNext time you do googling on "download jdk", look at the entire page of the first return item (From Oracle). Because the JDK 7 is the new version, JDK 6 is now located at the bottom of the page.
You can download it from here:

Hi All,
Currently we are using JDK1.7.0.21 for weblogic 10.3.6 , SOA 11.1.1.6 and AIA in Production(Linux64bit). new i want migrat to Oracle JRockitJDK.can any body sent some steps for that and some documents plz..
Thank you,
Ram.There is a small example here: Middleware Snippets: WebLogic, Coherence and the G1 Collector
Note that this goes the other way around, from JRockit to Oracle JDK. In your case you can set the JAVA_VENDOR to Oracle (instead of Sun) and enter the BEA_JAVA_HOME value.
There is something like the following in the setDomainEnv file (located in the ${DOMAIN_HOME}/bin directory):
WL_HOME="/home/weblogic/weblogic12.1.1/installation/wlserver_12.1"
export WL_HOME
BEA_JAVA_HOME="/home/weblogic/jrockit-jdk1.6.0_29-R28.2.2-4.1.0"
export BEA_JAVA_HOME
SUN_JAVA_HOME="/home/weblogic/jdk1.7.0_11"
export SUN_JAVA_HOME
JAVA_VENDOR="Sun"
export JAVA_VENDOR
if [ "${JAVA_VENDOR}" = "Oracle" ] ; then
JAVA_HOME="${BEA_JAVA_HOME}"
export JAVA_HOME
else
if [ "${JAVA_VENDOR}" = "Sun" ] ; then
JAVA_HOME="${SUN_JAVA_HOME}"
export JAVA_HOME
else
JAVA_VENDOR="Oracle"
export JAVA_VENDOR
JAVA_HOME="/home/weblogic/jrockit-jdk1.6.0_29-R28.2.2-4.1.0"
export JAVA_HOME
fi
fi
By changing the JAVA_VENDOR to the right one, you can see the in the 'if' statement JAVA_HOME is set by using either SUN_JAVA_HOME or BEA_JAVA_HOME
The nodemanager.properties also has properties where JAVA_HOME is set (javaHome and JavaHome). -
Gdb gets SIGSEGV from JVM in JDK 1.3.1_01 on RedHat Linux 6.2
Hi all,
I'd love to know if anyone has a fix for this problem? I am also posting it as a bug.
Thanks in advance!
OVERVIEW:
When running Tomcat 4.0 via the Java launcher in a gdb debugging session (Red Hat Linux 6.2), I get a SIGSEGV signal (Segmentation fault) when I execute some of the example JSPs/servlets. Since Tomcat is pure Java, I'm assuming the problem is most likely with the JVM and the way it handles signals, or possibly with gdb since I only see this behavior with gdb. The problem is fairly reproducible; I usually get it when I execute the "ErrorPage" JSP sample in Tomcat's "examples" webapp.
Note that I don't see these signals when running the JVM standalone (outside of gdb). What's also weird is that I successfully tell gdb to "continue" after the segfault, and the app continues to work like nothing ever happend.
As an aside, the reason why I did this test was because I was experiencing very similar problems in my own application that embeds a JVM via JNI.
DESCRIPTION:
Here is what I did to see the problem.
First, I set the debugger in the environment, so that the jdk/bin/java script can run the java launcher in gdb:
export DEBUG_PROG=gdb
Next, I run the jdk/bin/java script:
cd jdk1.3.1_01/bin
java
This brings up the Java launcher within gdb, and I run it as I specify the necessary arguments to startup Tomcat:

As a reference, I built the Java launcher code included in the JDK 1.3.1_01 distribution, producing the replacement binary for:
jdk1.3.1_01/bin/i386/native_threads/java
I copied the source files out of the jdk1.3.1_01/src/src/launcher/ directory, and they consist of the following files:
java.c
java.h
java_md.c
java_md.h
My build directory also contains the jdk1.3.1_01 subdirectory to include the JNI headers from and as a sample jdk to test the build output with.

Oracle drivers not found by servlets after upgrade of JDK
I am using jakarta-tomcat 4.0.1 with WIN2K.
After a recent upgrade to jdk 1.4.0_02 from jdk1.3.1, servlets that try to use oracle crash with this error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/jdbc/driver/OracleDriver
at ProductLookup.loadJDBCDriver(ProductLookup.java:23)
the code at line 23 is:
DriverManager.registerDriver ( new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());
This all worked prior to the upgrade of jdk.
The code at line 23 does work using the command line.
I did check the ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES - in my limitted knowledge they look OK. But I am sure there MUST be something missing &/or incorrect.
During execution, the servlet is just not finding "something".
I am relatively new to JAVA and especially new to servlets.
What should I look for to solve this problem?
TIA
WalkGoodThe oracle drivers are in a file called classes12.zip.
Make sure that you unzip these files to where the
servlets can find them.
%TOMCAT_HOME%\common\classes
or
%TOMCAT_HOME%\classes
or
%TOMCAT_HOME\webapps\{app name}\WEB-INF\classesIs %TOMCAT_HOME% an environment variable? I have one called CATALINA_HOME. It is set the jakarta folder "C:\jakarta-tomcat-4.0.1"
Something I noticed: If I execute tomcat "startup.bat" in a command prompt window, I see echo'd messages. One says "Using CLASSPATH: C:\jakarta-tomcat-4.0.1\bin\bootstarp.jar;C:\jakarta-tomcat-4.0.1\lib\tools.jar" but this NOT match the Environment Variable "classpath" which does specify the path to the classes12.zip folder. Should the "catalina.bat" file assemble the classpath to include the same Environment Variable "classpath" in addition to bootstrap.jar and tools.jar?
Where can I find specific documentation on how to setup the environment for jakarta-tomcat to find the ORACLE drivers during execution of a servlet?
TIA

I can't accept is any brand application server have support jdk1.6.
Only Weblogic not support jdk1.6(Tomcat support 1.6 and is free).
Someone can help me to finish server upgrade?
Thank you very much.

1.6Hi,
The standalone weblogic 10.3.6 does support jdk 1.6 and not jdk1.5
if crystal report works only with wls 10.3.6 with jdk 1.5, then you need to check if there is any other version of crystal report that can be used with wls 10.3.6 + jdk 1.6
Thanks,

Jdk1.2.1 on windows xp
i have a problem with javac command in command prompt. It always gives me the windows error message telling me that "javac.exe encountered a problem, sorry for the inconvience"
is it because jdk1.2.1 is compatible with windowsxp or is it because of windowsxp or jdk problem.
This same jdk1.2.1 is working on windows98.Hello sudhir_ptl1,
If you are having problems getting jdk1.2.1 working with windowsXP, you can go ahead and try 1.3.1. I have included below the link to download jdk1.3.1 for the Intel platform.
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.3/download-windows.html
Under the "Installation" notes, it specifies support for Windows XP, so it should work.
Hope this helps,

hello everyone,
first, i am running over windows xp x64 bit platform.
2 gb ram, gfeorce 7 256 mb, 3.2 pentium D dual core processor.
i don't know if the OS i have is a problem by itself concerning running java aplications!
i downloaded a package from the sun, that contains:
- jdk1.5.0_09
- jre1.5.0_09
- netbeans-5.0
i installed the package, and i isolated the jdk and jre to the folowing location:
C:\Java\jdk1.5.0_09
C:\Java\jre1.5.0_09
i entered the MS-Dos, and performed a simple task to see if the java is working...
i entered the command "javac" and "java", and i got the following errors in dos.
'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
i then entered "system properties --> advanced --> environment variables"
and i passed in the "Path", the link of the jdk, which is:
"C:\Java\jdk1.5.0_09\bin"
then i restarted my pc, entered the MS-Dos, I tried the commands "java" and "javac" again, and i got the same errors...
hmm allright, i uninstalled everything, and remove the adress from the "environment variables" and went back to zero
i downloaded the folowing installation files:
- jdk-1_5_0_09-windows-amd64.exe
- jre-1_5_0_09-windows-amd64.exe
and accordingly, i installed them back to the same localtion, that i will repeat now
C:\Java\jdk1.5.0_09
C:\Java\jre1.5.0_09
and did the process all over again in the "environment variables", and restarted the pc, and then entered the dos inside the windows, and tried the "java" and "javac" commands again... and all i got was "AGAIN":
'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
'javac' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
can anyone help, i really need help, thank you guys in advance!its not that the jdk isnt working, its working, but your system doesnt know where to find it, its not in the path.
every command that you can call from anywhere in dos, should be in the PATH system variable.
so basicly you need to add the path to java to these 2 variables:
PATH
JAVA_HOME
and echo %VARIABLE% will display its contents -
Has JDK bug 6569768 been fixed in 1.6?
I am wondering if bug 6569768 (CMS: System.gc() may hang with -XX:+ExplicitGCInvokesConcurrent upon concurrent mode failure) been fixed in JDK 1.6 upgrade 13. According to bug report, it is fixed in release 'hs11(b01)'. Not sure if this is in JDK 1.6.

Yes, the fix for 6569768 is in jdk 1.6 update 13 (it's in 1.6 update 10 and later). Run java -version to see version information for both the JDK and the HotSpot JVM:
$ jdk1.6.0_10/bin/java -version
java version "1.6.0_10"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_10-b33)
Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (build 11.0-b15, mixed mode)
