JFileChooser in bean -  generates exception

Hi all
I am developing a very simple Java bean for opening files. It has a button that will invoke a JFileChooser. When I add it to the SUN ONE Studio component palette it generates the following exception:
java.security.AccessControlException
This happens when in the default constructor, I initialise the JFileChooser field using new JFileChooser(). Without this call, the addition to the palette works OK. The AccessControlException indicates that write permission to the default user directory is required and not granted! Can anyone explain this, and provide a work-around?
Thanks
John

users will not be allowed to choose files from the server.
they may not even have "browse" rights which is why you
can't "choose files".Why should that matter at the development stage? And I have write access to the relevant directory anyway!

  • Informix 7.3 - Oracle 8i migration: Generate Exception Blocks not offered

    I have installed OMWB 2.0.2 and plugin for Infromix Dynamic Server 7.3.
    There is no offered checkbox "Generate Exception Blocks" in "Parse Options" panel for customization of parsing stored procedures in Source Model.
    (But it was normally offered and working in previous OMWB 1.4.1 wersion).
    How I could coerce OMWB2.0.2 to generate BEGIN-EXCEPTION-END blocks around every SELECT statement in stored procedures ?
    Many thanks

    Vladimir,
    Generate Exception Blocks parse option is available on the T/SQL to PL/SQL parsers (Sybase and Microsoft SQLServer), I suppose you could put in an enhancement request if this functionality was important to yourself and other users.

  • Simple Java Bean Generator use

    Hello everybody,
    I'd like to know if someone managed to use the Simple Java Bean Generator, useful tool for web dynpro application in order to import complete database model.
    I read the doc, and I think it's usable for SQLServer database. My command is as follows :
    java -D com.sap.test.DBTest com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver sa 123erty TSP c:\GenerateDB CONFIG
    where CONFIG is my database name, sa/123erty the couple login/pwd, and TSP the pattern (what does it mean pattern in this case ?).
    When executing this command, the response is : datasouce not found and driver not specified...
    I don't understand, can someone help me please ??
    Thanx.

    Thanks about your answer.
    Without code modifying I wan't to use it with a Maxdb database.
    Which driver is ucurrently used ? com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.DriverSapDB ?
    Where do i have to launch this script knowing that my J2EE engine is installed in a linux platform ?
    My command become :
    java -D com.sap.test.DBTest com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.DriverSapDB SAPNW1DB SAPNW1DB CC_ c:\GenerateDB CONFIG_DB
    and i always get the response : datasource not found,n driver not specified...
    Am I wrong to try this generator in a windows platform where j2ee engine is in a linux platform ??
    Thanx a lot in advance !

  • Oracle.discoiv.beans.proxy.exceptions.EulException

    Dear All,
    When i tried to publish the sample portlets packaged with Dicoverer i got the following exception :
    Error:
    A Discoverer error occurred trying to perform the current operation. Please contact your iAS administrator for help. null; nested exception is: oracle.discoiv.beans.proxy.exceptions.EulException
    any help will be appreciated

    Did you upgrade your Discoverer installation after installing it as part of Oracle9iDS / 9iAS?
    The version that is shipped with the application server is 9.0.2.39
    You should upgrade to Discoverer 9.0.2.54.x to get the latest patch, with stability and performance improvements, as well as some bug fixes.
    The Discoverer Administrator version used to create the EUL should be the same as the version of Discoverer installed on Oracle9iAS.

  • Jdbc:mysql generating exception when ip address is included as part of url

    hie
    I recently wrote a java application that uses jdbc:mysql connector to connect to the mysql database. The problem I'm facing is ,- when ever I include IP addresses in the url on the getConnection method I get the following exception:
    com.mysql.jdbc.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure due to underlying exception:

    The funny part is that if I use localhost on the url it works but generates the exception when I put the IP address of the local machine.
    Anybody who knows where the problem is , please help
    thanx in advance

    localhost usually resolves to 127.0.0.1, not the routable IP address of the host.
    mysql (or any TCP/IP based program) can tell which IP address you connected via.
    Your mysql installation apparently isn't configured to allow external connections. The problem could be persmissions or the installation itself, or a firewall on the host.
    See the fine manual:

  • Adding Set of Session Beans generates client with wrong session bean names

    Hi,
    I am trying to import a set of session beans deployed on Sun Java Sever 8.2 using Netbeans 6.0. on windows XP.
    The problem is that the imported set generated by the IDE has wrong session bean names and out of 8 session beans in the client jar only 6 are shown (and different 6 every time). Also the remote methods of one bean are associated with another bean and every time its a different set of bean clients generated.
    I am really perplexed with this behavior. Any help on this issue will be highly appreciated.

    An RMI/IIOP parameter type must meet one of thefollowing criteria:
    It must be a primitive type, or it must implementeither java.rmi.Remote or java.io.Serializable,
    or it must be an interface for which the runtime typesatisfies the previous criteria,
    or it must be an array containing elements thatsatisfy the previous criteria.This tells you exactly what you need to do.

    just to make sure we don't missunderstand each others. I'm talking about the system alias, not the system ID.
    Could you maybe post your System ID and the assigned System aliases here to clear this out?
    Example --> System ID D66_100, Aliases: R3_Travel, HCM_System, etc
    You should also try to run a connection check for the respective System ID in System Landscape Destination.

    ============= OUTPUT ==============
    I tried the individual JAXP 1.3 for J2SDK 1.4.2 (Using the -Djava.endorsed.dirs JVM param) and tried the JDK 1.5.0_02 which has JAXP 1.3 inbuilt and they all fail.
    I tried the above with separate Xalan/Xerces jar files, and then it works fine.
    The problem seems to be somthing specific to the JAXP 1.3 environment. I can provide more details, if required. Any help is highly appreciated.

    One morning your code woke up and found it had been transformed into a giant insect.
    But seriously, here's the name of the method that doesn't exist:GregorSamsa.process$dash$rootIs GregorSamsa your class? Maybe your server has an old version of it which is missing that method? (Or: those $ signs look strange to me, maybe they are a mistranslation of some other character?)

  • How to use JavaScript in Web bean generated JSP

    I want to do some simple JavaScript validations (for example, checking if a particular field is empty) in the JSP page rendered by the data web bean. Because the HTML is rendered by the bean, I'm not able to refer to the HTML controls in the JSP page. I'm not even able to refer to the form with the following standard piece of JavaScript code - "document.forms[0].control_name".
    Is anybody aware of how to use JavaScript with these rendered JSP pages?

    You just have to add it like and applet , including this line in your JSP or JSF
    <script src="http://dl.javafx.com/dtfx.js"></script>Then add the applet
    <script>
        javafx(
                  archive: "./resources/jar/Draw.jar",
                  width: 400,
                  height: 200,
                  code: "Draw",
                  name: "Draw"
    </script>./resources/jar/Draw.jar - is the path and the name of the jar

  • Jdeveloper (9.0.5.1)- Stateless Session Bean + OC4J  Exception - Urgent Ple

    I have a stateless Session Bean EJBs deployed on the OC4J Application Server that calls this method:

    I try to access it from a client running on the same machine(windows nt).

  • Visual studio 2013: Contract.Assume not generating exception at runtime?

    Hello guys.
    I must be missing something, but just can't see what. I'm creating a new assembly with .net 4.5.2 and I've enabled code contracts by going to the project properties and by doing the following:
    * set assembly mode to standard contract requires
    * enabled perform runtime contract checking
    * chose option full on the combo
    * and chose the build option from the contract reference assembly at the end of the page
    Then, I've added the folloowing to an existing class:
    namespace Domain.Persistence {
        public abstract class ValueObject : Base {
            protected ValueObject() {
                var anyInvalidProps = GetType().GetProperties()
                    .Where(p => Attribute.IsDefined(p, typeof (DomainSignatureAttribute), true))
                    .Any();
                Contract.Assume(!anyInvalidProps);
    While running my unit tests, I don't end up getting an exception (even when the condition is false!). Any clues on what I'm missing?

    Solved it: had set the only public surface contracts checkbox by mistake and the cosntructor was protected...
