JMC stops the Admin Server service

Hello,
We are using jrun 3.1 on a 2003 server. in the services
window you start the jrun admin server service. it starts up just
fine, but when you go and try to launch the jrun management console
you get a page cannot be displayed. when you go check the service
it has automatically stopped.
i read somewhere when another person had the same problem and
it was caused by the serial number being in lowercase and changing
it to uppercase fixed it. but i checked the serial and it is all in
uppercase.
another idea someone mentioned is that some file got changed
to binary instead of being in ascii? i don't know if its true or
not.
but if anyone has any ideas i would appreciate your
input.

i dont see any errors logs for this..
The dialogue box says (visuap studio just in time debugger)
when i try to start admin server service...
"An unhandled win32 exception occurred in java.exe(<process id>)just in time debugging.this exception failed with the following error: No installed s\debugger has just-in-time debugging enabled. In visual studio, just in time debugging can be enabled from Tools/Options/Debugging/Just-In-Time."
I have installed weblogic in June 1st week(MS visual studio was not installed on the box then) with no issues.everything was fine then, but a couple of days ago I was doing some domain configuration changes.then i had to restart admin server and thus found out this issue.
So Iam wondering if I need to work with the person who had installed MS visual studio?
Or anyone had similar issue and what u had to do to resolve this?please help me find the fix..Thanks

Looks to be a cert or keystore issue. How do you have that setup?

  • Problems connecting to the Admin Server

My browser can't connect to the Admin Server. Why not?
    <P>
If you cannot connect to the Admin Server, ensure that the masks of
Hosts and Addresses entries in /admin-serv/config/ns-admin.conf
include the host and address you are connecting from. After changing
these parameters, stop and start the Admin Server by running the shell
    scripts /stop-admin and
    /start-admin.

    Thanx for the reply Shane.
i had just stumbled upon the imap log before seeing your answer. i've found and fixed the problem.
the imap log showed the following message
Access to imap service for user@domain denied from client address (*mailAllowedServiceAccess)while the http log showed the following message
Access to smime service for user@domain denied from client address (mailAllowedServiceAccess)after some digging, i understood that th mailAllowedServiceAccess is a user profile property.
For my non-admin user, it was set to +imaps:ALL$+pops:ALL$+smtp:ALL$+http:ALL i modified it to include simple imap and the problem was solved.
ps: some threads that pointed me in the right direction

I noticed it has something to do with security so I need to mention I modified the boot.properties file such that to have the same credentials used upon the domain creation.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

    scanzano,
I was wondering if you ever received and answer to this question, becuase I am faced with the same problem when I attempt a signon to the 'admin server' I receive the following message:
    type Status report
message Invalid direct reference to form login page
description The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect (Invalid direct reference to form login page).
This is displayed as an "HTTP Status 400 - Invalid direct reference to form login page!!??" It appears that this message has been around for a while so I'm wondering if this issue will ever get resolved??

  • SCVMM 2008 R2 - "The SQL Server service account does not have permission to access Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)."

I know this question has been asked before, but never for R2, that I can tell, and the posted fixes aren't working. I have just installed SCVMM 2008 R2 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server, using a remote SQL 2008 SP1 database. When I attempt to connect to SCVMM, I get the following error:
"The SQL Server service account does not have permission to access Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS).
Ensure that the SQL Server service is running under a domain account or a computer account that has permission to access AD DS. For more information, see "Some applications and APIs require access to authorization information on account objects" in the Microsoft Knowledge Base at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=121054.
    ID: 2607"
What I've seen online is that this is usually becuase the domain account SCVMM is running as does not have the proper permissions on the SQL database. Here's what I've confirmed:
    1) My SCVMM service account is a local admin on the SCVMM server
    2) My SCVMM service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
    3) My SQL service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
    4) My SQL service account is a domain user (even made it a domain admin, just in case, and it still "doesn't have access to AD DS," which is obviously untrue)
    5) Neither service account is locked out
Has anyone run in to this? It says in Technet that remote SQL 2008 is supported, as long as the SQL management studio is installed to the SCVMM server, and I installed and patched before I began the SCVMM installation. I just don't know what else to try - I have no errors in event logs, no issues during the installation itself...
    Andrew Topp

That answer was very unhelpful fr33m4n. The individual mentions that they've received the error that points to the KB article. I currently receive the same error -- there seems to be no resolution. I've run the Microsoft VBS script to add TAUG to the WAAG
as suggested by 331951, and that made absolutely no difference.
    1) My SCVMM service account is a local admin on the SCVMM server
    2) My SCVMM service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
    3) My SQL service account is a dbowner on the SCVMM database in SQL
    4) My SQL service account is a domain user (even made it a domain admin, just in case, and it still
"doesn't have access to AD DS," which is obviously untrue)
The user is also a member of WAAG, the machines have delegated authority to each other. Is there any other solution?

In Reporting services configuration manager, the service is running.
If I restart the reporting service, it doesn't helps.
    What is not properly?

I've already found the reason why all stopped working - someone deleted the report manager URL HTTPS bindings (in Report services configuration manager). Added it back, than reporting started to work. Awww!

  • How to upgrade the Admin Server to WLS 9.2.3 while Managed on 9.2.2

    HI,
I have a WLS 9.2.2 domain with Admin and 2 Managed instances clustered. Admin and Managed Servers are on different machines.
I want to upgrade only the Admin Server to WLS 9.2 MP3 while all my Managed Servers are in WLS 9.2 MP2.
Can any one provide me the detailed steps on how to upgrade only the Admin server to WLS 9.2 MP3?
And I read in the Weblogic documentation that this supported. But could not find any detailed steps on how to upgrade only the Admin server to the Major version.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi
    1. "And I read in the Weblogic documentation that this supported". Can you please provide the link or documenation that exactly says that this is Supported ???
    2. As far as I know, one of the basic requirements for Weblogic Cluster with managed servers across different remote machines is, all the machines, Admin and Managed Servers machines should have Exact Same Version (including Service Pack) of WLS deployed. Right now I do not have this link on top of my head. But this is the only Supported and one basic requirement for Weblogic Cluster.
Since WLS uses all Shared Modules and each Shared module do have like Implementation and Specification Version. If you upgrade admin server domain, most probably config.xml file will be upgraded with all modules version as 10.0.2.3 (something like that). This means when you restart Managed Servers, they will get a new copy of config.xml file from admin server machine. So now on Managed Servers all these modules (10.0.2.3 etc) should exist on their local machines. This is just my thought.
    Thanks

  • Admin Server service doesnt start

Hi,I have installed weblogic 8.1.3.When I try to start admin server service it is giving "Error 1067 : The process terminated unexpectedly"
    Please reply

i dont see any errors logs for this..

  • Start/Stop Weblogic Admin Server

    Hello,
I have installed Forms 11g in my home Pc, so is it possible to Start/Stop Weblogic Admin Server and the Dos window that appears, not to ask me about username and password?
I mean like a bat file (script), to enter the username and password in a text file
if yes, also the same in WLS_FORMS?
    Thank you.

Starting an Administration Server with a Startup Script
An Administration Server is a WebLogic Server instance that maintains configuration data for a domain. In a development environment, it is usually sufficient to start an Administration Server and deploy your applications directly onto the Administration Server. In a production environment, you create Managed Servers to run applications. For more information about Administration Servers and Managed Servers, see "Understanding WebLogic Server Domains" in Understanding Domain Configuration for Oracle WebLogic Server.
You can start an Administration Server with a default startup script or create your own. To start an Administration Server with the WebLogic Server-included startup script:
If you have not already done so, use the Configuration Wizard or WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST) to create a domain.
See Creating Domains Using the Configuration Wizard or "Creating Domains Using WLST Offline" in Oracle WebLogic Scripting Tool.
Open a shell (command prompt) on the computer on which you created the domain.
Change to the directory in which you located the domain.
By default, this directory is MW_HOME\user_projects\domains\DOMAIN_NAME, where DOMAIN_NAME is the root directory of the domain. (The name of this directory is the name of the domain.)
Run one of the following scripts:
    bin/startWebLogic.cmd (Windows)
bin\startWebLogic.sh (UNIX and Windows. On Windows, this script supports the MKS and Cygnus BASH UNIX shell emulators.)
    Note:
If you use a Configuration Wizard template that is provided by WebLogic Server, your domain directory includes a start script named startWebLogic. If you use a domain template from another source, the wizard might not create a start script, or it might create a script with a different name. The template designer determines whether the wizard creates a start script and the name of the script.
The startWebLogic script does the following:
Sets environment variables by invoking DOMAIN_NAME\bin\setDomainEnv.cmd (setDomainEnv.sh on UNIX), where DOMAIN_NAME is the directory in which you located the domain; for example, WL_HOME\user_projects\domains\DOMAIN_NAME, and where WL_HOME is the location in which you installed WebLogic Server.
Invokes the java weblogic.Server command, which starts a JVM that is configured to run a WebLogic Server instance.
When the server successfully completes its startup process, it writes the following message to standard out (which, by default, is the command window):
    <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000360> <Server started in RUNNING mode>
Starting an Administration Server from the Windows Start Menu
When you create an Administration Server on a Windows computer, the Configuration Wizard creates a shortcut on the Start Menu for starting the server (User Projects > DOMAIN_NAME > Start Admin Server for WebLogic Server Domain).
The command that the Configuration Wizard adds to the Start menu opens a command window and calls the startup script that is described in Starting an Administration Server with a Startup Script. When the server has successfully completed its startup process, it writes the following message to standard out (which, by default, is the command window):
    <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000360> <Server started in RUNNING mode>

  • What about the admin server not working?

    Hello,
I noticed that, even when the admin server is down, the LDAP server nicely serves search, create or modify clients requests. At least the extended operation persistent search works as well.
My question is what does stop working in the DS if the admin server is down?
    - Likely the Server console.
    - SNMP monitoring?
    - Replication?
    - SSL authentication?
    - What else?
My concern is of course Linux ES 3.0 support.
    Thanks for all your answers.

The admin server is just a http server used for administration with the console. Most admin functions can also be done from the command line, so it's really GUI administration that you are losing.

  • How can i start the Admin server? may be this will be like clue: "When i try to start the iplanet suite with the start-admin script, i receive the following error:

    bash-2.03# ./start-admin
AdmInit: Failed to perform security initialization for communicate with LDAP in SSL mode (error code = -1) Exit
so i can not login to console (./startconsole) because the "admin-serv" is not up: "Can not connect to the Admin Server "http://myserver.com:myportnumber/" The URL is not correct or the server is not running." any ideas..."

"I'm not familiar with the error, but I'll throw in my two cents and hope it leads you somewhere.
First, be sure you start things in the correct order. LDAP->Admin->Console.
Be sure you've set nsadminservaccessaddresses and nsadminaccesshosts.
Do you have problems starting everything up when you aren't using SSL mode?
You can put startconsole into debug mode with startconsole -D 9 but I don't think there is a start-admin debug mode. You'd have to settle for a truss.
All in all, you should ask this in the LDAP (User Management & Policy) forum."

how can i check the nsadminservaccessaddresses and nsadminaccesshosts settings (i'm new on this suite as you can see).
if i moved some checkbox when the console was ok how can i view that settings in text mode?
by the way i have another server that can sun console well (port 2125) so what file can i compare to change some wrong settings?
    thanks anyway, another idea?"

  • Could not load Logmanager "oracle.core.ojdl.logging.ODLLogManager" error while starting the Admin server

    Hi,
I installed weblogic 12.1.2.0.0 with RHEL5.6.  After the installation, I tried to post the following class path in setDomainEnv.sh file under the domain home directory,
    POST_CLASSPATH="/prosun/jasper/jasperreports-3.6.0.jar:/prosun/jasper/commons-digester-1.7.jar:/prosun/jasper/log4j-1.2.15.jar:/prosun/jasper/org.apache.commons.beanutils_1.6.jar:/prosun/jasper/org.apache.commons.collections_3.1.jar:/prosun/jasper/org.apache.commons.logging_1.0.4.jar:/prosun/jasper/iText-2.1.0.jar:/prosun/jasper/groovy-all-1.5.5.jar"
While i am  trying to start the Admin server, the server didn't started and following exception is reported in nohup.out file.  Please help me to resolve this issue.

hi, you should not do nothing with user root.
please, don't use root again for weblogic administration.
list all files with root permissions:
move to Middleware Home, example: cd /u01/app/oracle/Middleware
    find . -user root
if there are files with root permissions, change it to oracle:oinstall
    I saw this:
    Could not load Logmanager "oracle.core.ojdl.logging.ODLLogManager"
    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: oracle.core.ojdl.logging.ODLLogManager
Please check in DOMAIN_HOME/bin/setDomainEnv.sh file if exist this:
    JAVA_OPTIONS="-Djava.util.logging.manager=oracle.core.ojdl.logging.ODLLogManager ${JAVA_OPTIONS}"
    export JAVA_OPTIONS
    MWCONFIG_CLASSPATH=${FMWCONFIG_CLASSPATH}${CLASSPATHSEP}${COMMON_COMPONENTS_HOME}/modules/oracle.odl_11.1.1/ojdl.jar
    export FMWCONFIG_CLASSPATH
    if exist, replace for:
    JAVA_OPTIONS="${JAVA_OPTIONS}"
    export JAVA_OPTIONS
if not existe, its necesary for you to use /prosun/jasper/org.apache.commons.logging_1.0.4.jar in your classpath?. If it isn't necesary delete it, and restart the AdminServer.

  • Trying to run the SOA/BPM managed server withOUT running the Admin server

(This is for demo/development purposes... Using 11.1.1.4 in Windows 7 with 4gb)
Because of memory constrains I am trying to run the BPM/workspaces application without needing the Admin to be running.
When they both run, I can use the credentials I create with the Admin server but the response time is prohibitive and all my memory is used...
It seems to run much faster when only the bpm managed server is running but then I cannot login ...
So my question is simply: Whats the easiest way to set it up so I can use credentials elsewhere without requiring the admin server to be running?
( I could connect to an OID instance I have outside this server or the seeded demo they refer to in other posts ... but do these also require the admin server to be running???)

I don't know if what you want is possible. Only did a suggestion that works fine for me. I'm running SOA Suite and BPM Suite 11.1.1.5 on WLS 10.3.5
Configure a new WLS domain and see if the BPM Dev template is available in your version.
I've tuned my startup script (setSOADomainEnv.cmd) as follows:
    set JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS%
    set DEFAULT_MEM_ARGS=-Xms512m -Xmx1024m
    set PORT_MEM_ARGS=-Xms1536m -Xmx1536m
if "%JAVA_VENDOR%" == "Oracle" goto OracleJVM
    set DEFAULT_MEM_ARGS=%DEFAULT_MEM_ARGS% -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m
    set PORT_MEM_ARGS=%PORT_MEM_ARGS% -XX:PermSize=256m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m
Use visualvm that's available from your jdk/bin directory to monitor your jvm and optimize it accordingly
