JMenu label position

Hello All:
I am using JMenu to create a menu, and I would like to know how to adjust the menu labels. I need to have some labels right-justified, some certer-justified, and some left-justified. I used the following statements and it didn't work.
JMenu servicesMenu = new JMenu("Services");
servicesMenu.setHorizontalTextPosition(SwingConstants.CENTER);
Please let me know if you need the entire code, and I appreciate your feedback.
Thanks,

Do you want to move the "top-level" menu names across the screen, or the items within a specific dropdown?
If you want to align the items within a menu, you should be looking at the features of the JMenuItems rather than the JMenu.

  • Spacing, alignment and labels position ...

    How can I adjust the spacing between items? When exporting as a PDF there's a ton of wasted space on printed forms, making it hard to fit much on a single page.
    Why do I have to adjust the "labels position" for the whole document? How can I just adjust it for the item selected?
    If I set "labels left" and try to adjust the width of the "edit label" field, it adusts all the "edit label" fields in the whole document. How can I adjust one without affecting the others?

    Yes, for fields that are the first in a row and that have label position set to Left or Right, they do share a "global" caption reserve (label width).  This FAQ goes into a little more detail:

  • Setting Default Label Position

    Hi all
    When I create a Boolean (or anything else), LV defaults to putting the label above the control and left justified. I like to change that so that the default location for a label is just to the right and top justified.
    Anyone know how to do this?

    > Sorry, but don't believe you can--though that would be nice.
    > Personally I seem to spend half my life making contol labels
    > right-justified and aligned to the left of the terminal, and
    > indicators, left-justified and to the right of the control...

    I've heard this advice about the justification before, but many times it
    doesn't seem necessary. If the label is totally above or below the
    control, then the justification will determine which edge of the label
    moves while the top or bottom is maintained. As long as autosizing is
    turned on and the label projected horizontally intersects with the frame
    of the control, the justification doesn't matter since the right or left
    edge, whichever is next to the control will be maintained.
    As for th
    e orginal question, this is something you can change with
    custom controls or typedefs, but the built-in control label position
    cannot be controlled.

  • Agentry 7.0.3.504 - Label Position Issue

    I am creating a simple Agentry application with a list screen, detail screen, and transaction screen.  I would like the field labels to be on top for the detail and transaction screens.  I've set the "Label Position" property to 'Top' but it doesn't seem to have any effect on the screen.  You can see in the screenshot below that the property is set but the labels are still showing to the left.  I've confirmed that I see this same behavior in the Agentry test environment and the Agentry client for Windows.  Can you think of anything that I might be doing wrong?

    Christopher,
    You aren't doing anything wrong.  Label on Top setting only works for smart phone devices: iOS or Android.  To implement on Windows, you would need to create separate label fields directly above the actual fields.  Then leave the label on the actual fields blank.

  • Retain Default Label Position

    If the Label Position is changed from default position there should be the option to retain the position, because finding the label in a very huge block diagram code is difficult as label is the only identification for the item

    Quick Drop already does this!  Open QD with CRTL+SPACE and then use CRTL+T.

  • ToggleButton label position

    Hi everyone,
    I'm looking for a way to align the Label of a ToggleButton to the left of it.
    My Toggle button is 100% wide, and the icon+label are centered in the button.
    I can't find a way to make icon+Label aligned to the left.
    I created a custom skin, but the Label keeps centered whatever I try...
    Any tips ?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
    Following steps will solve your problem:
    1. set the label position as NO LABEL.
    2. Add a control type of type 'Plain Text' in which you can write the description of the variable and place it before the input field and adjust the size as desired.
    Hope this helps.

  • Unable to change Data label position in the Chart using Position from Properties

    Hi All,
    I am trying add the Data label to the chart and the users want them to appear on the top of the stacked bars. By default when I enabled the data labels it showed up in the middle. When I tried to change the position by doing
    View --> Properties --> Position --> Top/Bottom/any of other 8 options   -- it does move a bit
    I even tried deleting chart and recreating it.
    What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ranjith_SQL,
    According to your description that you have add the Data label on your stacked column chart  which by default display in the middle of the chart, you want them to appear on the top of the stacked column chart, right?
    For a Stacked Column Chart, the data labels are always placed in the center of the Series bars. This is by design. I also  test it on my new version of SSRS 2014  and find have the same result.
    If you really need the data label to display on the top, I recommend you to change the chart type to column chart which by default have the Data labels display at the top of the column:
    You can also submit an wish at

    If the suggestion mentioned by customers for many times, the product team may consider to add the feature in the next SQL Server version. Your feedback is valuable for us to improve our products and increase the level of service provided.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • Sideways label positioning in Keynote

    Hi All,
    Is there any way we can position the value label sideways instead of straight in Keynote column chart?

    You have to make sure that you just have the labels selected, not the whole chart. Then it should be here…

  • Label positioning with MapViewer

    Hello,
    Is it possible to position by myself the label for one geofeature in a MapViewer request?
    Thanks.

    not directly. but there might be work-around depending on your requirement. for instance you can setup a geofeature with oriented point, then render it with a transparent color style. The text label will be placed near the point but the point itself will not show up on the map.
    more comprehensive labeling support will likely be available when the new database TEXT type is supported by mapviewer.

  • Flex Column Chart X-axis Label position

    Hello,
    I have a Column Chart and am wanting to align the X-axis labels on top of each Column. Is there a way to achieve this?
    Can we change the  label's default position? I know there is a "rotation" property which rotates the labels but i want to change the label postion.
    Any help/pointers is highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Been diging throught he charts source to figure out if there is a way of doing what I wanted, and appartntly there is (well - for the most part). For anyone else interested there is a property called alignLabelsToInterval for the LinearAxis class. This is not documented but it is a public variable - in the code ( http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/flex/sdk/trunk/frameworks/projects/charts/src/m x/charts/LinearAxis.as ):
    * @private
    public function get alignLabelsToInterval():Boolean
    return _alignLabelsToInterval;
    * @private
    public function set alignLabelsToInterval(value:Boolean):void
    if (value != _alignLabelsToInterval)
    _alignLabelsToInterval = value;
    invalidateCache();
    dispatchEvent(new Event("mappingChange"));
    dispatchEvent(new Event("axisChange"));
    Setting this parameter to false allows the base label to stay on the origin of the chart. Then you need to compute a suitable interval for the axis to get the labels you want.
    Phew!

  • Chart type label position

    Hello,
    is it possible to put the label of different values to a specific position?
    I am working with SAP BI (7.0 - 2004s).
    Thank you very much for your help.
    Best regards,

    Hi,
    labels are positioned according to their customizing settings (Text properties: Horizontal position / Vertical position).
    However, it also depends on the chart type you use.

  • Custom component in Flex 4.0 to change the label position on top of its children

    Need to show the label on top of its children by changing position of the FormItems lablel through custom component in Flex 4.0

    Hi,
    Thanks much for following up. Yes, my itemrenderer is defined inline and I did reference the dataprovider's group id via "outerDocument". As a matter of fact, I think I simply copied/pasted the code. The only significant difference I can see is yours is defined directly inside an Application tag whileas mine is under a VGroup:
    <s:VGroup>//this is the top tag
    <s:DataGroup>
            <s:layout>
                <s:VerticalLayout/>
            </s:layout>
            <s:ArrayList id="listDP">

                <fx:String>Age 31-40</fx:String>
            </s:ArrayList>
            <s:itemRenderer>
                <fx:Component>
                    <s:ItemRenderer autoDrawBackground="false">
                        <s:RadioButton label="{data}" groupName="{outerDocument.rbGroup}"/>
                    </s:ItemRenderer>
                </fx:Component>
            </s:itemRenderer>
        </s:DataGroup>
    </s:VGroup>
    Any ideas?

  • Set Labels Position

    Hi all,
    Is there no way I can set the position of the labels on my form.
    Thanks
    Jideofor

    Ah... but your forgetting about the Law of Diminishing Return. The larger the cup, the larger the vehicle needed for transporting it. Once the cup reaches the size of a 18-wheel semi tractor trailor you may wish you had gotten a smaller cup.... not to mention the affects of drinking all that coffee!

  • Button label positioning

    Hi,
    I am new to Flex 2 world but even my question seems a bit
    funny to me. I'm trying to create a square button (width=200 by
    height=200) and I want the label inside the button to be in one of
    the top corners. At this point I don't care if it's in the left or
    right top corner.
    I've tried everything and I was only able to get the label to
    be left aligned using the TextAlign property but I can't seem to
    figure out how to Vertically align it to the top.
    any help you be greatly appreciated.
    Incase someone needs to see the mxml code to understand what
    I'm doing, here it is: (LOL)
    <mx:Button label="topleft" width="200" height="200"
    textAlign="left"/>
    Also, I've tried to put a <mx:Label> right after this
    button and using the x/y co-ordinates, place it on TOP of the
    button and that works but then when I mouseover the label it looses
    the mouseover the button (which is obvious).
    HELP! :)

    The paddingTop worked. I just had to set it top a negative
    value :) I feel like I had to "cheat" to get this working :)
    Thanks a lot!
