JMS Messages keep on growing for a Topic with non-durable consumers

I have a JMS Server whose "Messages Current" keeps on growing after every message send to the topic. All the consumers are non-durable. The session is a non-transacted session with Auto Accknowledge parameter. My client does recieve the message, but it does not go down from the "Messages Current" in the WLS console. Also once the server is restarted, the messages go down to 0.
I am using 9.2 SP2 on a Solaris environment.
Any insight would be helpful

It's possible that one or more the subscribers is stalled for some reason and so is not actually receiving and processing messages. This would cause messages to accumulate. You can examine statistics for individual consumers on the console to see if this is an issue.
Also, there could be a durable subscription on the topic left over from some previous application you used with the topic. There are statistics for these as well.
Yet another possibility is that the clients are receiving the messages but are failing to acknowledge/commit them. You wrote that the sessions are "auto-acknowledge" but they could accidentally be "transacted". Check to make sure that the first parameter passed to "createSession" is true (it should be false), and that the second parameter is set to auto-acknowledge.
Finally, if you happen to be using a distributed topic, keep in mind that if one of the topic members is unavailable/crashed/down messages will accumulate on the other distributed topic members until the unavailable member is restarted (at which point they will be forwarded to the restarted member).

  • Message: Enter a country for partner xyz with type 'requester'

    We are using SRM Server 500.
    I am customizing a new installation. When I create a SC in classic scenario using "Describe Requirement" I get following messages:
    "Enter a country for partner 0000000081 with type requester."
    "Enter a country for partner 0000000081 with type goods recipient."
    I didn't enter a source of supply, the partner number 0000000081 is a BP that belongs to the user in who creates the SC, as I can see in ppoma_bbp.
    All org-units are matched up in TA BBP_BP_OM_INTEGRATE.
    In TA BP I checked the address of 0000000081. Everything is ok, country is entered. What I cannot find is Partner type 'Requester' or 'Goods Recipient' in TA BP.
    I never had this Problem befor and I customized a few SRM, EBP, BBP, B2B systems. Has anybody an idea?
    Thank you for your response.

    Hi BERTRAND,
    one of our users is also facing the same issue when she is trying to cancel one confirmation in srm 7. DO you have any idea how can i check the consistency of the user in SRM7 as BBP_CHECK_USERS are not working in my SRM7 system.

  • Registering for a Topic with own stream & queue in Pub/Sub

    Hi *.
    I'm working with MQSeries 5.3 on WinXP.
    I don't know, how to register a subscriber to a topic with the JMS-classes. I found a sample from IBM, but it uses the native (MQ)classes and it does not work, when I try to register an own queue or stream. Everything works fine with system-queues/streams, but I shouldn't work with the defaults in my application.
    Does anybody know, where I can find a sample to register a subscriber to a topic, which is based on JMS ?
    Thank you very much in advance.
    Jo

    Yes, the script is provided by IBM when you install the java for mqseries for websphere MQ. It is under MQ_JAVA_INSTALL_PATH/bin directory called MQJMS_PSQ.mqsc.

    Hello,

  • HT5622 Why does a Verification message keep popping up for no apparent reason?

    So I've been trying to sign in to buy a new song for my ipod when I got a verification message to verify my account on iTunes. I've done this before so I know what to do. I noticed in the small message box that it says this is the first time I've ever bougth something on this device. I thought it was odd because I've bought a few things before and I've never had this specific message come up. I have no idea why it is. When I click on the verify account it takes me to the verification question page bla bla... I put in my answers and.... They're wrong? I know the answers I haven't forgotten them but it says I have them wrong! (Now this is getting a little of topic so I'll just back up) Why is this message appearing? How can I fix this question issue? My account has been locked because of this! I've tried to look at support but I haven't sent any  emails because I want to figure out why this is coming up first.

  • Keep alive script for HTTPS service with GET method

    Hello,
    I tried to implement a keep alive to services that support HTPS connections. I’ve created a script that opens a tcp connection on port 443 and tries to do a GET of a test web page. This web page only displays “OK”.
    In a resumed form I used the following script commands:
    Socket connect host 192.168.136.134 port 443 tcp
    Socket send ${SOCKET} “GET /teste.template\n\n”
    Socket waitfor ${SOCKET}” 200 “ 2000
    Socket disconnect ${SOCKET} graceful
    I was unable to receive the expected “ 200 “response and received a message saying string not found, I used the socket inspect command to inspect the socket’s internal data buffer and the result was nothing, it seemed empty.
    I tried the same operation using a linux machine that has IP connectivity with the Webservers and I was successful.
    In the same CSS I have services configured to respond to HTTP sessions. I tried the following script and everything went well
    Socket connect host 192.168.136.151 port 80 tcp
    Socket send ${SOCKET} “HEAD /index.html\n\n”
    Socket waitfor ${SOCKET}” 200 “ 2000
    Socket disconnect ${SOCKET} graceful
    When I issued the socket inspect command I could in fact see the socket’s internal data buffer content.
    The CSS is running WebNS 5.0 build 66
    Can someone give me a help?
    Thanks,
    Ricardo Lourenço

    Hello,
    There is no direct no direct link between TCP and SSL.
    So, in spite of having success with the TCP port 443 connection the CSS will not be able to negotiate de security parameters necessary to establish the SSL session.
    This was the reason for not having success through the use of the socket commands, as i refered in my original message.
    Thanks for your collaboration,
    Ricardo Lourenço

  • Quick look for text files with non-registered extensions

    It seems there was a way in 10.5 and 10.6 to register certain extensions with Quick Look to tell them how to preview a file. I have a lot of plain text files with different extensions that are not initially recognized by Quick Look. How do I hack the registry to tell Quick Look to preview a .cfg (or .aux, etc.) file as plain text?

    Can't Quick Look for some text files

  • Trouble using JMS Message Selector and DCJMSMessageProperty0

    Hello Experts!
    My scenario is Mainframe => MQ => JMS Adapter => XI => SAP
    My MQ channel is communicating fine to XI and I've set the JMS adapter to JMS Compliant.
    I have multiple message types with consistent headers but varying data layouts that I need to route to different mapping objects. So it seems the best solution for this is JMS Message Selector based on reading a header value from one of the dynamic message properties.
    I've read SAP Notes and SAP Library and SDN Wiki articles about this configuration and I think its possible.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/10/b1b4c8575a6e47954ad63438d303e4/frameset.htm
    Note 856346 - J2EE JMS Adapter: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
    Note 1086303 - XI JMS Adapter and IBM Websphere MQ: FAQ

    My mainframe sends an MQ message that includes some extra header information like
    field: ApplType  VALUE: 000000002
    field: ApplName    VALUE: MIS056O
    I configured my Communication Channel to set Adapter-Specific Message Attributes and also Additional JMS Message Properties to include ApplType and ApplName.
    However, I can only see some of the standard JMS header items such as CorrelationID, none of the additional ones.
    In RWB I see "JMS property 'ApplType' that corresponds to dynamic header 'DCJMSMessageProperty0' is missing from JMS message 'ID:f2f0f0f9f0f4f2f1f0f9f1f5f5f3f7f44040404040404040'; consequently it cannot be added to XI message 'e136a6e8-8580-4adc-2007-9ccab93f1ef4' as a dynamic header"
    Can anyone with some experience doing this help me see if I'm missing a trick somewhere? How can I see where this information is being dropped? Could it be when MQ is handing to JMS?
    Many thanks,
    Aaron

    After sifting through some IBM documentation I found that the PutApplName field actually maps to JMS name JMSXAppID. So after adding this to my Additional JMS Message Properties list I get the dynamic JMS message property I need for sorting out the messages.

  • Solaris Heap grow for no reason ....

    Hi all,
    This is a tricky one. I have played around with Java under Unix for a while. My programm was working under Sun Ray with a normal heap with version JDK1.4beta3. I then decided to put it under JDK1.4rc.....
    Boum. The programm keep on exploding after 6 to 7 hours of threading with giant size core dump ( heap size ) obviously above -mx...m
    I track down the heap with pmap -x PID | grep heap ... It keeps on growing for no reason and it wasn t doing it with 1.4rc .....
    Strange enough the difference between System.TotalMemory-System.freeMemory is fluctuating has if the heap section of pmap has got nothing to do with this.
    Any obvious thought about it ? the command is the same and the compilation is on the jdk I am running under.

    Yeap,
    - All patches are in the box...
    - JDK1.4 last release does the same to me
    I misspelled my last mail... My problem is not on JDK1.4beta3 mixed mode which works just fine. It happens when I moved to JDK1.4 and last release ( downloaded last week).
    The problem is on Solaris 8 accessed through a remote X. I already know it is very slow for repainting and it is not advisable to do that, but as it was working better and better from the 1.2 onwards....You know you give it a try.
    My last thought is upon the overhead of some threaded action? Possible?
    Do you know what part changed from beta3 to release candidate in the JVM?

    You do have a very complex looking site and may need several tables in mysql to handle all that data. If you knew to phpmysql I would suggest taking a look at this tutorial it will help get you started in understanding how to $_GET info from a database and also how to $_POST data to a database. I am no expert just learning myself and I found this very helpful. This is the link http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/first_dynamic_site_pt1.html
    There are also many tutorials on Youtube to help build a CMS Content Management Site I would suggest the following: -
    http://www.youtube.com/user/phpacademy
    http://www.youtube.com/user/betterphp
    http://www.youtube.com/user/flashbuilding
    And many more on my channel here
    http://www.youtube.com/user/Whisperingonthewind
    CMS's are easier to maintain, add edit and delete content.
    I have also recently bought a Book by David Powers Training from the Source very helpful.
    Anyway hope you get it sorted.

    I have tried rebooting and this hasnt helped.

    vivianalozano wrote:
    I assume that a neighbour has an iphone that tries to sync to my itunes repeteadly making the window pop up every 5 minutes...
    That really is not likely since the device would have to have at one time been physically connected and synced to your computer, AND Wi-Fi sync enabled while connected to your library, AND they'd have to be on your Wi-Fi network.  Unless you have someone who did all this and lives within Wi-Fi range, and knows your network password, that's not what's happening.
    Do you have any auxillary software add-ons to iTunes (e.g. Last.fm scrobbler)?  Sometimes those get in the way of shutting iTunes down and it will re-open unless you shut the other software down first.

  • When using rabbitmq-jms for vFabric RabbitMQ javax.jms.Message.getJMSDestination does not return the actual destination when it is received from a consumer listening on a Topic with a wild card

    When using rabbitmq-jms for vFabric RabbitMQ javax.jms.Message.getJMSDestination does not return the actual destination when it is received from a consumer listening on a Topic with a wild card. I have tested with both 1.0.3 and 1.0.5 clients with RabbitMQ 3.1.5.
    I was wondering if the community was aware of this problem and if there are any workarounds? If not what is the proper channel to file a bug report. An example code snippet is below. The test fails because the TextMessageMatcher expects the destination passed in on construction (second parameter) to equal the desination on the message received (aquired from getJMSDestination).
            Mockery context = new Mockery();
            final MessageListener messageListener = context.mock(MessageListener.class);
            final Latch latch = new LatchImpl();
            final String prefix = "test" + System.currentTimeMillis();
            context.checking(new Expectations() {
                    oneOf(messageListener).onMessage(with(new TextMessageMatcher("MSG1", prefix + ".1234")));
                    will(new CustomAction("release latch") {
                        @Override
                        public Object invoke(Invocation invocation) throws Throwable {
                            latch.unlatch();
                            return null;
            final Connection connection = createConnection(null, null);
            Session session = connection.createSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
            connection.start();
            Topic wildcardTopic = (Topic) getInitialContext().lookup(prefix + "." + "#");
            Topic destination = (Topic) getInitialContext().lookup(prefix + ".1234");
            final MessageConsumer consumer = session.createConsumer(wildcardTopic);
            consumer.setMessageListener(messageListener);
            MessageProducer producer = session.createProducer(null);
            producer.send(destination, session.createTextMessage("MSG1"));
            latch.await(5000);
            connection.close();
            Thread.sleep(5);
            context.assertIsSatisfied();
