I can do Hello World with JMS in my local System..Like
setting up my own Que server in local machineYep -- check out Orion http://www.orionserver.com. It comes with at least 2 examples that you can check out. You can run them on your local machine without too much trouble. To enable the JMS server on your machine, remove the commented out section in server.xml (that has to do with JMS).

  • Question by a JMS newbie

    I am a relative newbie to JMS and I was wondering if I could get some clarification on some behaviour I have noticed with SJS MQ.
    I have set up a test environment with a broker, connection factory and a queue (Destination name MyQueueDest, lookup name MyQueue). The broker has been configured with a destination 'MyQueueDest'.
    I have then used the demo application provided by SJS MQ 'SenderToQueue' to send to the queue 'MyQueue'. In the administrative console I have noticed that there are three destinations, including both 'MyQueue' and 'MyQueueDest'. When I use the QBrowser application to browse the queue, the test messages I have sent show up in 'MyQueue', whereas I expected them to show up in 'MyQueueDest'.
    Is this behaviour correct? It surprises me that it seems to create a destination on the fly, since I would have thought that this would be a bad idea. I would have also expected that by supplying the lookup name 'MyQueue', it would resolve it to the destination 'MyQueueDest'.
    Can someone please enlighten me?
    Tim

    Depends what you mean by "connect":
    • Do you want to record the keyboard's sound? Then connect its audio out (line-out) to the Mac's line-in, with the proper cables and adaptors.
    • Do you want to use the keyboard to trigger GB's internal sounds? Then you need either a midi interface that connects to your keyboard's midi out port and the Mac's USB port. Or, if your keyboard has a USB out, you need a USB cable and driver software for the Mac (if the keyboard isn't "class compliant").
    • You can't use GB to trigger your keyboard's sound, since GB doesn't offer a midi-out (only with additional software).

  • EJB and JMS (newbie)

              I'm looking to deploy what is essentially a message-broking service. A bean that
              will invoke a helper class which will dequeue messages.
              Basically I want to set up our consumer to invoke a handler, which will invoke
              a bean that provides message-broking services as described above.
              The handler that invokes the bean is to be called from the WLSConsumer. The problem
              is that I'm now getting a java.io.NotSerializableException on the WLS consumer.
              This is probably a really obvious question, but how can I get around this?
              My structure is:
              Consumer >> Handler >> Bean >> Helper
              The consumer is to call the handler, which uses the bean's helper class to pull
              a message off the queue, and do some intermediate processing on it.
              We're using an older version of J2EE, on Weblogic 5.1.
              Which classes do I need to implement Serializable?
              Thanks in anticipation.

    Hi Seoh!
    Both stateles and JMS can participate in a single transaction, but because two
    resource managers are being used they must use the 2PC protocol, In oreder to
    use the 2PC u need to get the license from the bea and after that u need to enable
    the 2PC in WLS through admin conbsole. But remember that transactions in stateless
    beans cant span across multiple method incocations
    Thanx,

  • Stopping the topicsubscriber

    I am a JMS newbie. I am starting a TopicSubscriber when I receive a request to a servlet. I have implemented a class which implements MessageListener interface. The constructor of this class starts the TopicSubscriber. In the onMessage method, when I get a particular message I start a thread and then I want to stop the subscriber. I am not able to do this. I have called the topic conn close method but it does not work.
    Can anybody help me?
    Here is the code of my class.
    public class MyTopicSubscriber implements MessageListener {
    private static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger("TopicSubscriber");
    private TopicConnection topicConn;
    private Topic topic;
    private TopicSession topicSess;
    private TopicSubscriber topicSub;
    private String batchId;
    private String reload;
    public PISyncStatusTopicSubscriber(String batchId, String reload) {
    this.batchId = batchId;
    this.reload = reload;
    try {
    topicConn = Singleton.getInstance().getJMSTopicConnection();
    topic = Singleton.getInstance().getPISyncStatusTopic();
    topicSess = topicConn.createTopicSession(false, Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    topicSub = topicSess.createSubscriber(topic);
    topicSub.setMessageListener(this);
    topicConn.start();
    logger.info("Started listening for topic messages");
    } catch (JMSException je) {
    logger.log(Level.SEVERE, je.getMessage(), je);
    } catch (Throwable t) {
    logger.log(Level.SEVERE, t.getMessage(), t);
    public void onMessage(Message msg) {
    TextMessage txtMsg = null;
    try {
    if (msg instanceof TextMessage) {
    txtMsg = (TextMessage)msg;
    logger.info("Received TextMessage : " + txtMsg.getText());
    // start batchload thread if message = 'SYNC COMPLETE'
    if (txtMsg.getText().equalsIgnoreCase(Constants.SYNC_COMPLETE)) {
    BatchLoadThread blt = new BatchLoadThread(batchId, reload);
    blt.start();
    dispose(); // this does not work
    } catch (JMSException je) {
    logger.log(Level.SEVERE, je.getMessage(), je);
    } catch (Throwable t) {
    logger.log(Level.SEVERE, t.getMessage(), t);
    public void dispose() {
    try {
    topicSub.close();
    logger.info("Subscriber closed");
    topicSess.close();
    logger.info("Session closed");
    topicConn.close();
    logger.info("Connection closed");
    } catch (JMSException je) {
    logger.log(Level.SEVERE, je.getMessage(), je);
    } catch (Throwable t) {
    logger.log(Level.SEVERE, t.getMessage(), t);

    Hi,
    This code should work as your asynchronous subscriber must stop receiving messages when its closed. It may be a defect of your JMS provider.
    You can try to unset the message listener for your subscriber before closing it i.e.:
    topicSub.setMessageListener(null) it may help even if your code looks perfectly fine as it is.
    Hope it helps,

  • Newbie question about JMS topic and OSB

    So here is what I want to achieve:
    I want to "front" a JMS topic on WLS using OSB 10g. I want the users (producers and subscribers) to be access the topic via proxy services. The way I picture this is that a producer will invoke a proxy to publish a message. The subscriber will (asynchronously) invoke another proxy to pickup the message.
    Is this possible and how do I go about doing this?
    thanks

  • JNDI Newbe questions  : Connecting to MQSeries queue using JMS

    Hi.
    I'm trying to make a connection to a MQseries cueue using JMS and as I understand it I have to look some things up in a JNDI server.
    Right now I'm using the IBM Websphere test environment inluded in Visual Age for Java but later this aplication will be deployed on a Webphere 3.5 server.
    Question 1 : (code grabbed from an example)
    queueConnectionFactory = (QueueConnectionFactory)           jndiContext.lookup("QueueConnectionFactory");
    queue = (Queue) jndiContext.lookup(queueName);
    When i run an lookup on from my initial context I take it that it tries to search through the JNDI directory which lives within my Websphere Test environment. Ofcourse it doesn't find anything called "QueueConnectionFactory" so: What am I looking for here?
    I guess I want to find the MQseries server here right? Firstly I don't know what that one is called (is there a generic name?!) and second i suspect that the MQ server is not registrated in my local JNDI server...
    which lead me to Question 2 :
    Do I register a remote server in my JNDI directory OR do I try to connect to the real JNDI directry (that might have information on the MQ service) ?

    You are looking for the queue manager name in this case. You need a queue manager name and a queue name in you code, you also need define a queue manager and a queue in MQSeries. Then in your WebSphere Test Environment (Or run MQSeries command when you deploy this application, refer to its document) to define the relation between these two pairs of managers and queues. You may actually go to read these two articals and you'll feel much better to do this:

  • Newbie in JMS

    Hi,
    i'm completely new in JMS. I have several clients (applets) that access to an DB2 database waiting that certain event happens. When it comes, i want all clients to receive a message telling it. How can i use JMS to help me in this?
    Thanks,
    Nuno Almeida

    Use a topic; each client subscribes to the topic; then the person who receives the event can publish it to the topic.

  • Weblogic Connection with Oracle JMS AQ errors

    Hi All,
    I am a newbie with SOA 11g and I am trying to do a simple test case for a use case of connecting Oracle AQ JMS with Weblogic and using it in my SOA 11g process. I am trying to publish something to my queue that I created but I am getting this error in the weblogic / soa log files pasted below :
    The steps I followed exactly are this :
    1) Created a Database Queue called DemoInqueue using the following scripts :
    exec dbms_aqadm.create_queue_table ( queue_table=> 'DemoInQueue', queue_payload_type=> 'SYS.AQ$_JMS_TEXT_MESSAGE', multiple_consumers=> FALSE, compatible=> '8.1');
    COMMIT;
    exec dbms_aqadm.create_queue(queue_name=> 'DemoInQueue', queue_table=> 'DemoInQueue');
    COMMIT;
    exec dbms_aqadm.start_queue('DemoInQueue');
    COMMIT;
    2) Created a Data Source in weblogic server : Called it using the JNDI name : jdbc/oracle/jms Driver Class Name : oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource (I tested the connection it works fine)
    3) Created a JMS Module (JMSTestModule) and then Created a New Summary of Resource for it ( AQServer) and chose option Foregin Server.
    Under General Tab, I gave "oracle.jms.AQjmsInitialContextFactory" as the JNDI Initial Context Factory and Under JNDI Properties I put in "datasource=jdbc/oracle/jms" as I created the above datasource.
    Under Connection Factores I created a new "ForeignConnectionFactory-0". Under Configuration I gave Local JNDI name as "jms/DemoCF" and remote JNDI Name as "XAQueueConnectionFactory" (I have also tried with
    QAConnectionFactory but no difference )
    Under Destinations I created a new "ForeignDestination-0" with local JNDI name as "jms/DemoInQ" and Remote JNDI Name as "Queues/DemoInQueue" (Because my Queue name is that)....
    4) I restarted the Weblogic Server then went to SOA suite and tried a very simple process Hello world added a JMS adpater....Inside the adpater I selected OEMS (Advanced Queueing), App server my weblogic server,
    operation as ProduceMessage and when I hit Browse I was able to see my AQServer ForeignDestination-0 Queue. I selected it and under destination name it populated "jms/DemoInQ" but under JNDI name it also
    populated "eis/aqjms/Queue" I left that as is and deployed my process and tried invoking it. It failed with the error message below.....I also tried modifying the JNDI name to something else...in Jdev..but the results
    are the same....
    Are these steps correct ? Am I missing something here.?
    I followed all the blogs and forums in this site and I think I did all the steps...but if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it...

    Thanks for passing along the link.
    The part about Oracle's documentation not mentioning the JmsAdapter configuration was a real sticking point for me - I was having the same problem as the original poster until I updated that deployment as the link outlined.
    Also, towards the end of that link the author mentions running in to problems getting their composite to successfully bind to the queue definitions that were created in WebLogic.
    I attempted post my solution to this on the original site, but I'm not sure if it got through - so I'll add the details of what worked for me here:
    Connection Factory:
    Local JNDI: aqjms/JMSTest_Connection_Factory
    Remote JNDI: XAQueueConnectionFactory
    Destination:
    Local JNDI: aqjms/JMSTest_Queue
    Remote JNDI: Queues/JMSTest_Queue
    Outbound Connection Pool:
    Name: eis/aqjms/JMSTest_Queue
    Connection Factory: aqjms/JMSTest_Connection_Factory
    JDeveloper Composite:
    Destination Name: aqjms/JMSTest_Queue
    JNDI Name: eis/aqjms/JMSTest_Queue

  • BPM Newbie

    Hi Guys
    I am a BPEL guy and just started working on BPM. Being a newbie in BPM field i have few queries which should be able to make me understand the diff between BPEL and BPEM.
    1) We created Business Process in BPEL with WS Orchestration, Deployed on BPEL PM Server then invoked the BPEL process with java code. Is it same with BPM? Do we have separate BPM Engine / Server for BPM? Where it is deployed? How is it invoked?
    2) Can we call/invoke one BPM process from another BPM process?
    3) How to use business rules in BPM?
    4) How do we use BPM process in actuall overall project deployment?
    5) Can it call any ESB and BPEL process? or can we call a BPM process from ESB or BPEL?
    6) Does it also have instances like BPEL? and its versions?
    I may have asked some stupid questions here but i am just trying to know how it can help me in understanding the business modelling better.
    Many Thanks

Do we have separate BPM Engine / Server for BPM? Where it is deployed? How is it invoked?There is the dedicate engine for BPM that can run on an application server like WLS, you just have to deploy your projects on the engine in order to have them available.
    The processes can be started in may ways: using the workspace (web application that alllows users to interact with processes) running activities (applications) that start the processes, using webservices, using jms listenere and so on. I suggest you to look at the documentation for specific details.
    2) Can we call/invoke one BPM process from another BPM process? Of course!
    3) How to use business rules in BPM? Just prepare the rules and use them, for instance using business rule based transitions to control the flow of the process...
    4) How do we use BPM process in actuall overall project deployment?It depends on your project
    5) Can it call any ESB and BPEL process? or can we call a BPM process from ESB or BPEL?Sure with ESB, it's strongly integrated with it. I've no experience with BPEL integration but I know it can be done.
    6) Does it also have instances like BPEL? and its versions?It has. Don't know if in BPEL it's the same...
    You define a process and then you can run instances of that process. You can modify it and have different versions running on the engine... but it would be too long to discuss here and now.
    I may have asked some stupid questions here but i am just trying to know how it can help me in understanding the business modelling better. No question is stupid :)
    Hope that this helps.

  • Fail over JMS in clustering

    Hi ,
              I'm newbies to weblogic.
              Currently I need to use JMS to asychronous messaging.
              version I used is weblogic 705.
              The environment is clustering. There is one Admin server, and 2 managed servers by multicasting.
              Let's say, there have managed server#1 and managed server#2.
              I set up JMS servers in each instance of managed Servers by using distributed Queue.
              And used MDB to consume the message from queue and deploy to each server.
              used persistance store in DB by JDBC connection Pools which is deploy multipools to cluster.
              when firing hte message using distributed queue, messages keep in persistance store according to load balancing.
              - Is there any work around to support failover?
              Lets say, there fired 20 messages and according to the load balancing, each queue in server server got 10 records. but their persistance is in DB.
              - After firing messages, I intentionally shut down the 2nd server, and restart again. Then MDB consume message which is already send to him. But There have a problem, when restarting the 2nd server, the message in queue( persistance in DB) which is related by 1st serer is wipe out from DB persistance.
              Why can't identify why this one happen.
              Anybody can help me.
              Best regards,

    I'm not sure what is your question? Why are the messages stored in the DB wiped out?
              I don't remember WebLogic 7.0 too much, is there a way to setup for JMS migration? If so, you can then migrate from 1 server to another so the messages can be processed even if the server goes down.

  • XSLT sender plugin fails to set JMS message properties

    When creating a JMS message to be put on a JMS queue, one of the XSLT for the XSLT automation plugin fails to set JMS string properties like: wlsmimehdrContent_Type
    The content on the xslt are listed below.
    The xslt in CPRLookupRequest.xslt sets:
    wlsmimehdrContent_Type
    SERVICE_SUFFIX
    OSM_EVENT_TYPE
    as expected, but the almost similar plugin NABSCreditEvalPluginRequest.xsl fails to set the same string JMS properties.
    I'm looking for a clue, because I'm clueless. I'm an XSLT newbie, so it might be something simple.
    The core part of the problem is put in bold in the listings below

  • Oracle JMS AQ connection using Weblogic 10.3.3

    Hi All,
    I am a newbie with SOA 11g and I am trying to do a simple test case for a use case of connecting Oracle AQ JMS with Weblogic and using it in my SOA 11g process. I am trying to publish something to my queue that I created but I am getting this error in the weblogic / soa log files pasted below :
    The steps I followed exactly are this :
    1) Created a Database Queue called DemoInqueue using the following scripts :
    exec dbms_aqadm.create_queue_table ( queue_table=> 'DemoInQueue', queue_payload_type=> 'SYS.AQ$_JMS_TEXT_MESSAGE', multiple_consumers=> FALSE, compatible=> '8.1');
    COMMIT;
    exec dbms_aqadm.create_queue(queue_name=> 'DemoInQueue', queue_table=> 'DemoInQueue');
    COMMIT;
    exec dbms_aqadm.start_queue('DemoInQueue');
    COMMIT;

    I executed your scripts one by one and then tried again. Same Error Message. I think the problem is not in the AQ queue. The issue is with the BPEL / SOA process as the error message below clearly says it's not able to find aqjms/XAQueueConnectionFactory. That's the JNDI name in my Jdeveloper ? Is that JNDI what I should be using or should be match something else ? Please help................
