JMS with old JVM

I apologize for lack of research before posting the question, but a direct answer
would save a lot of time...
Could a JMS client service that would post and consume messages from Weblogic be
          implemented using JDK 1.1.8?
If for JMS client, weblogic.jar would be used, running in the JDK 1.1.8 context would
          this cause any problems?
          thanks,
          Stefan

This applies to the client as well. Not a JMS thing per se, but a
          WebLogic thing and therefore JMS.

  • TS3899 Cannot send email with new iPad air.  Works fine with old iPad and iPhone.

Cannot send email with new iPad air.  Works fine with old iPad and iPhone.  I have deleted account and reinstalled.

Thanks.  I got the problem fixed.  Spent time with the Apple folks and was kicked up to a senior advisor.  It seems the problem was with my internet provider - Tmie Warner.  Remember I could use the old ipad and the iphone to send mail.  I checked all the specifics between the three units.  It seems that TW is changing over from the RR.com  to TWC.com.  Since the new ipad air was just set up, it fell under the new TWC mail specifics.

my iphone 5 wont let me update apps keeps popping up with old apple id how do i fix this??

All apps downloaded/purchased are tied to the apple ID used to download/purchase them.
If you change your Apple ID and do not wish to use the old apple ID and password to update them, you have to delete them and redownload or buy them under the new apple ID.

I have copied my iTunes library onto a new computer, but when I play back the songs using the new computer, there seems to be random "miss" or "drop out" during play back, similar to a small scratch on a vinyl record.  Although when I play the same song over again, the "miss" occurs in a different location during the song.  No probs with old computer, just the new one.  I'm onto my third new computer - same problem.  Any suggestions please?

You don't say which version of iTunes you are using, but the symptoms you describe have been encountered by some users with the 64-bit version of iTunes 12.1.
There is an alternative version for 64-bit editions of Windows here:
iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
that seems to address the most of the playback issues that some users have been reporting with the full 64-bit version of 12.1.0.77 - including problems with Bluetooth speakers where either sound is degraded or completely absent.  The alternative installer here is the same architecture as most previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes, i.e., a 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer.  The "for older video cards" label appears to be something of a misnomer as some people have reported that this corrects problems found on current / high-spec systems.
Some users have reported that after installing this alternative version it is necessary to adjust the "Play audio using" selection (normally to "Direct Sound" rather than "Windows Audio Session", though this may vary based on your audio hardware/drivers) in Edit > Preferences > Playback to restore glitch-free audio (one part of the reported symptoms is that the "Direct Sound" choice isn't available, usually in Windows 8).  It may also be necessary to ensure that your Bluetooth speakers are active and selected as the default audio device before you run iTunes.
If this doesn't address the issue, you may want to think about reverting to iTunes 12.0 - see Turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for steps needed to completely remove all installed iTunes components, and for links to the 12.0 installers.

  • Can't Delete icloud with old Apple ID (which is not an email address)

Alright a couple of years ago apple made the switch to an email address as the main log on, which I was cool with.  Fast forward to today now that I am interested in backing my phone up to the cloud I can not because it is prompting me for the password of my log in due to the fact the find my phone is on.  Meaning my log on back in the day was a random word same as my screen name "VERSE13" not an email.
Any help would be apreciated.  I tried all the switching of emails to holding magical massage rocks on the back of my phone.

This is what worked for me. Should also work with the other problems with old email address and what not.
First save all your important data.  I backed up all my contacts to OUTLOOK and took all my photos off the iphone.   This is important as you won't be restoring from an early sync.
The next thing I did was went into my itunes library and deleted all the apps that were associated with my old log in name.  (I made a note so I could redownload these later).  In Itunes library click on apps then click list.  Right click on app and select get info.  On the summary tab you will see the apple ID it was purchased/associated with.
The next thing I did was restored my iPhone using the following instructions (which will get you around the whole not knowing the password thing):
With Iphone connected to computer hold power and home button until the phone resets.
When the apple icon comes on release the power button (continue to hold home button).
The iphone screen will display something that is tell you to connect your phone to itunes.  On your computer you will receive the following message "Itunes has detected an Iphone in recovery mode.  You must restore this iphone before it can be used with iTunes."
    Click Ok.
    Then click restore iphone.
Then confirm to restore and update.
When complete a screen that says "Welcome to your New Iphone" will be displayed.
Do not select restore from backup.  This will just cause the same problems with screen IDs.
At this point just disconnect your Iphone and go through the startup steps on your phone.
Sign in with the Apple ID/Cloud ID that you want to use.
When you are complete with that sync with Itunes library.
Make sure you select to set up as a new Iphone.  Place all your APPS and music back on your phone.  Set it up how you like it and sync to create a new restore point.
So basically it is just like you got a new phone.   So it is very important you save your contacts and pics and video to your local hard drive.

  • Is there a way to connect an old Sunflower iMac (OSX 10.4.11) to a new Time Capsule?  It used to work with old Airport Extreme with updates thru Snow Leopard but now seems to only allow WEP encryption instead of WPA.

Is there a way to connect an old Sunflower iMac (OSX 10.4.11) to a new Time Capsule?  It used to work with old Airport Extreme network, run from a intel iMac with updates thru Mavericks but now seems to only allow WEP encryption instead of WPA and can't connect to Time Capsule.  Airport Extreme Base was controllable from either computer up through Snow Leopard (I didn't do any of the Lion upgrades).  Then when I upgraded to Mavericks I lost the ability to use Airport Utility with this hardware on the Sunflower but could still connect wirelessly to network without any problems.  But now with the Time Capsule upgrade the Sunflower is blocked from network by a dialogue that requests ony WEP password, not WPA pwd used by Time Capsule.  Neither can I use the old airport extreme base to extend the time capsule network since I can't input the correct password/encryption approach to join it.  Is there a work around?  Would a newer but old Airport Express be able to extend network to Sunflower?  Or maybe a third party wireless (such as Netgear, Dlink, etc) that has browser type control rather than special utility?
Another question--before I used MAC addresses to control who could access network.  Now on Time Capsule I don't see anything about this--so is it true now that the only access control is via WPA2 pwd now (which appears to be the encryption pwd and not the time capsule pwd)?

Is there a way to connect an old Sunflower iMac (OSX 10.4.11) to a new Time Capsule?
I can’t claim to completely grasp the issue(s) you’re describing, but the underlying problem is presumably your iMac’s obsolete AirPort card. Whatever the case, an obvious (if not particularly helpful) answer to your stated question would be to connect your iMac with an ethernet cable, using powerline adapters as an alternative if you don’t want to have wire running all over the place.
My still fully functional clamshell iBook, with an original AirPort card, connects wirelessly to my 4th Generation TC network by means of a cheap 802.11b/g/n USB Wi-Fi adapter. This might be an option for you too.
Another question--before I used MAC addresses to control who could access network.  Now on Time Capsule I don't see anything about this
When you edit your TC's settings the access controls appear under the Network tab, don't they?

  • I'm useing lvwutil32.dll and am getting a "Error 10" (New I/O attempted with old I/O in progress), help :-(

Like my question says, I'm trying to use a buntch of vi's I had gotten about 3 years ago. They work with windows and managing them, along with other standard PC events. I have no problem with the implementation of these vi's into any of my diagrams nor while running the application where my IDE is installed. However, when I try to compile it, I get the "Error 10 occurred at C:\Program File\...\user.lib\lvwutil32.dll". It states 2 possible causes: 1) LabVIEW: Duplicate path & 2) NI-488: New I/O attempted with old I/O in progress".

It has to do with the way you have your build file constructed. The source and destination can't be the same because the application builder attempts to copy the dll into the build directory-which causes the error.
To fix the problem, create a directory containing the dlls you will be using in the build. Specify the dlls in this directory as the source file. Next, after adding all the dlls to the project, click on the "Custom Destinations..." button and for each of the dlls you've added, specify the "Windows System Directory" as the destination WITH NO RELATIVE PATH.
    The build should now work...

  • While intending to perform a clean install of Mountain Lion while continuing with old apps and files, is it a waste to restore a backup that was made while running Mountain Lion as an UPgrade from Lion?

While intending to perform a clean install of Mountain Lion while continuing with old apps and files, is it a waste to restore a backup that was made while running Mountain Lion as an UPgrade from Lion?
Originally I was running Mountain Lion as an UPgrade from Lion. I created a backup in Time Machine, performed a clean install of Mountain Lion, then I proceeded to use Time Machine to restore the back up.
When thinking about the essence of a back up restore, it occurrs to me that for all I know, I may have just wated my time IF Time Machine also restores all the old unneeded files that remain from Lion after an upgrade.
Since the backup was made while running Mountain Lion as an upgrade from Lion, did restoring this backup defeat the purpose of a clean install by reinstalling old Lion files?
If so, how can I re-do the last portion of the process so that I get all my home-folder files and apps back without the full bulk of old Lion files? Migration assistant I'm guessing?
    -Chris

    Hello John!
Thank you for your response which solved my problem. For other users who may stumble upon this, I'll clear up the confusion and share how I solved the problem with your help; When looking for answers to my computer problems, finding unresolved questions where person B offers a solution and person A never comes back and says "That worked, thank you.", it demonstrates a "k-thnx-bye" user mentality that leaves others with the same problem lost. Without further ado:
It is not clear what you did because the meaning of "clean install" is vague. You can erase a volume and install an OS which leaves none of its previous content intact,
This is what I did: I erased the volume leaving no previous content intact, while then installing OS X Mountain Lion.
or you can upgrade an existing OS (or reinstall the same one) which does not alter your user - installed files.
An upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion is what I started with initially before erasing anything. This was undesirable. Since this can cause Macs to run slower (especially whereas I'm using a mid-2011 Mac Mini), my goal was to go from operating within an upgrade to Mountain Lion, to operating within an installation of Montain Lion that was not preceded by any other oprating system.
Hence a "clean install of Mountain Lion while continuing with old apps and files" is confusing.
Well put and understood. What I should have said was:
    1.Erase the volume
    2.Install Mountain Lion clean
3.Confirm that Mountain Lion is functioning properly
4.Proceed to use either Time Machine or Migration Assistant to Import/Migrate/Copy over only two things; My old apps (That had been stored originally in the designated Applications folder) and all files and folders originally stored in the home folder under users.
If you restore from a Time Machine backup then all modifications that occurred subsequent to that backup become erased. It renders moot any OS X upgrade performed subsequent to that backup.
That makes sense and is just as I later suspected.
If so, how can I re-do the last portion of the process so that I get all my home-folder files and apps back without the full bulk of old Lion files? Migration assistant I'm guessing?
    Yes.
This is what I did and everything works perfectly. Thank you so much once again!
    -Chris

  • CNA 6 InstallShield Wizard will not install with a JVM not found message

I ran CNA 5.5 up until last week when Java 7 71 update hit. When I tried to launch, I received JVM Not Found, that was all. So I figured it was time to install CNA 6, however during the install process I now get a pop up box stating  InstallShield Wizard will not install with a JVM not found message. No other error messages, no logs, and the installation ceases. Tried installing CNA 5.8.9.1, and CNA 5.5 again, all stop at the same point with the same message. Anyone else see this issue?

When you start Network Assistant, Java determines whether the resources it needs are available. If they are not, Java displays the message Could not create Java Virtual machine, and the session ends. To overcome this problem, open the file C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\CiscoSMB\Cisco Network Assistant\startup\startup.properties (the default installation path), and modify this entry:
    JVM_MAXIMUM_HEAP=1024m
Replace 1024m with a lower setting that does not exceed the available RAM. There is no way to foresee what value will work. Try 512m , and lower it further if necessary. You can use the dial peer tag range 2500 to 2999 out-of-band to define your own dial peers.
If the Network Assistant InstallShield wizard fails to start, it is likely that the temporary folder location defined through the environment variables TMP and TEMP has some problem. Assigning a correct temporary folder location can fix such problems.
