JNDI names missing after deployement of .ear files

I am trying to take an app that is currently in 1 ear file and split it into 2
ear files for 2 weblogic server instances. When I split the ear and deploy, deployment
seems to work fine but JNDI names never show up. When I deploy as one ear, all
JNDI names show up fine. The jars and wars inside the ears are exactly the same
build artifacts for either configuration. The original application.xml from 1
ear is split into 2 ears appropriately.
Any ideas?

Try completely closing out of iBooks: from the Home screen double tap the Home button, once the multitask bar appears swipe up on the iBooks icon to close out of iBooks. Now restart the iPad and see if this might help resolve the issue.
Alternatively instead of a restart you could perform a Reset once you close iBooks.
Reset: hold down the Home and Sleep/Wake button at the same time for ~10sec, ignore the Slide to Power Off, the iPad will then Reset, Note: No data is lost during a Reset.

  • Error after Deploying a .ear File

    Hi,
    I have deployed an .ear file on the SAP J2EE engine 6.20 on EP6.0 sp2. When I access one of the JSP's, I am getting a NoClassDefFound exception even though the particular jar (xml-apis.jar) file containing the class is in the additional-lib directory. Also, the jar file has been added to the classpath in go.bat? What other changes are to be done for a successful deployment?
    Environment :EP6.0, sp2 hotfix4 on Windows 2003, MS SQL server DB.
    Please reply ASAP
    Thanks

    hello,
    have you tried including the 3rd party jar in your EAR file itself?
    i use a number of external jars in my web app and ejb, including some xml parsing classes. what i did was to put them all in the EAR, at the root level, in other words, not in a sub-directory. then in my WAR's meta-inf/MANIFEST.MF file reference them in the Class-path. do simililar thing for the ejbs if necessary.
    when you tried to use the inqxml instead, did you make a reference in manager/referecen.txt from your app to the inqmy library? if so, did you look into the inqmyxml.jar to see if the Node class is actually there?
    regards,

  • Not Loaded status after deploying a EAR file in Oracle 10g application serv

    Hi,
    I am deployed a simple ear file in Oracle App Server 10g. The deployment went on well. But when i use the enterprise manager to see the status , it shows 'Not Loaded'.
    Can any body kindly give me a suggestion on why this is happening.
    Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    SK

    Hi,
    You have to register your Portlet provider.
    How to register new portlet in Oracle Portal 10g ?
    Here are the steps -
    1- Go to your oracle portal home page e.g. http://oracleportal.com/pls/portal
    2- Login into the oracle portal by clicking on 'login' link
    3- Go to the Builder and then Administer
    4- Click on Portlets tab
    5- Click on 'Register a Provider' in 'Remote Providers' portlet.
    6- Enter the provider URL and other information and click finish. Normally the provider URL for portlets developed using JPDK is in the form of http://[your portal]/[context root]/providers/
    Please note that you must have deployed the portlet before trying to register the provider for the portlet.
    Best Regards,
    Kevin

  • Some artists names missing after power fluctuation

    hi, i was wondering if you guys encountered the same problem on the subject. i was updating manually some songs on my ipod when the power fluctuated thus shutting down the PC and disconnecting my iPod abruptly. when i reconnected, all artists are shown on itunes as if nothing happened. when finished updating and disconnected my iPod, i happen to notice that some artists are no longer on the list when i browse them. however when i look for their songs in tne song list, its there as well as their albums. from then on when i update new artists into my iPod it no longer adds up to the artists list. do you have any idea how i can i correct this error without restoring my iPod? i have reset few times but its no use. thanks to your inputs.

    well the main reason why i don't consider restoring is that i believe it erases all what is on the iPod. the hardwork of importing songs, editing, placing an artwork, etc... will take weeks to finish. i don't have any other drive to back-up. i'd like my library polished squeaky clean without incorrect information such as misspelled words. anyway i can bear with this little error that it has rather than to start rebuilding a library. i hope i don't encounter other errors though. thanks for your reply.

  • Override JNDI names in persistence.xml and @resource annotation

    I have a Java EE 7 application that I am developing for use with both GlassFish and WildFly, but I have discovered that both application servers use a slightly different format for specifying JNDI names.
    In GlassFish the persistence.xml file references the data source jdbc/myDataSouce, but in WildFly the data source needs to be java:/jdbc/myDataSource.The same is also true for classes that are annotated with @Resource. In GlassFish the annotation for a class using JavaMail would be @Resource(name = "mail/myMailSession"), but to deploy onto WildFly this would need to be @Resource(name = "java:mail/myMailSession").
    The only solution I've got at present is using Maven to create two different releases of the EAR file, with one EAR file containing a persistence.xml file with the data source jdbc/myDataSouce for use with GlassFish, and the second EAR file containing a persistence.xml file with the data source java:/jdbc/myDataSource for use with WildFly. Unfortunately, I haven't found a solution for the @Resource annotation.
    I've taken a look at the documentation for glassfish-application.xml and glassfish-ejb-jar.xml and have tried using resource-ref to override the JNDI names but the application fails to deploy due to an error in the name.
    My question is does GlassFish provide any capability to override the JNDI names specified in the persistence.xml file and classes with the @resource annotation?
    Many Thanks
    Paul

    Have you been able to solve this? I'm attempting to understand what Web Server 7 can do with regard to Java Persistence and what elements of it require Glassfish.
    I've also spent great amounts of time in WS6.1 trying to figure out why a JNDI resource couldn't be found. The rules of thumb I've learned are:
    - Try dropping the *'java:/comp/env/* prefix; just use jdbc/pact part
    - Make sure all referrences (in web.xml and sun-web.xml) are identical with regard to that name.
    I'm hoping you're not still dealing with this (it's been two months!) but if anybody else stumbles on this, maybe it'll help them.

  • WLS10.3.1 : How to overload the jndi name of a stateless EJB

    Hi,
    I am trying to overload the jndi name of a stateless bean defined in an application by using a weblogic-ejb-jar.xml descriptor file.
    This does not work.
    The ear contains a jar that have a weblogic-ejb-jar.xml file in its META-INF directory. The file is :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <weblogic-ejb-jar
    xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90" xmlns:j2ee="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90 http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/weblogic-ejb-jar.xsd">
    <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    <ejb-name>HelloWorldBean</ejb-name>
    <enable-call-by-reference>true</enable-call-by-reference>
    <jndi-name>TOTO</jndi-name>
    </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    </weblogic-ejb-jar>
    This is the code of my bean :
    package test;
    import javax.ejb.Local;
    import javax.ejb.Remote;
    import javax.ejb.Stateless;
    @Stateless( name = "HelloWorldBean", mappedName="HWBean")
    @Local( IHelloWorldLocal.class)
    @Remote( IHelloWorldRemote.class)
    public class HelloWorldBean implements IHelloWorldLocal, IHelloWorldRemote
    public void sayHello(String name) {
    System.out.println( "Hello " + name + "!!!!");
    The bean implements the following interfaces :
    package test;
    public interface IHelloWorldRemote extends IHelloWorld {
    package test;
    public interface IHelloWorldLocal extends IHelloWorld {
    package test;
    public interface IHelloWorld {
    public void sayHello( String name);
    When i browse the JNDI tree, i see the bean registered with the mapped name attribute (HWBean#test.IHelloWorldRemote) but i don't see any bean registered with the name provided by the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml (TOTO)
    My standalone client can't perform a lookup using the JNDI name 'TOTO' but reaches the bean when using 'HWBean#test.IHelloWorldRemote'
    It seem's that the overload of the Jndi name using the weblogic-ejb-jar file descriptor doesn't work.
    Can you help me to solve the problem.
    Thanks.

    Thank you, my sample works fine with the following weblogic-ejb-jar.xml :
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <weblogic-ejb-jar xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0 http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0/weblogic-ejb-jar.xsd">
    <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    <ejb-name>HelloWorldBean</ejb-name>
    <enable-call-by-reference>true</enable-call-by-reference>
    <stateless-session-descriptor>
    <business-interface-jndi-name-map>
    <business-remote>test.IHelloWorldRemote</business-remote>
    <jndi-name>TOTO</jndi-name>
    </business-interface-jndi-name-map>
    </stateless-session-descriptor>
    </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    </weblogic-ejb-jar>

  • Ear file deploys on oc4j standalone, not on ias using the ent.appl.manager

    We added security constraints to our web.xml, and this works when we deploy it on a standalone OC4J. Deploying this ear on the ias with the Enterprise application Manager: after choosing the ear-file, giving it a name and pushing the next button we get a nullpointer-exception.
    After removing the security constraints the deployment works. Any ideas????

    hi i m novice in J2ee technology of XI,
    I m trying a blog to create client Java proxy,
    can u tell me after making the EAR file .... where should i deploy it,
    means it instructs me to deploy the EAR file in the SAP J2EE engine.... what is that .... whats the URL and port ?

  • Change manifest file in existing EAR file with ANT task

    Hi,
    I use ant task (ojdeploy) to create EAR files from ADF application.
    Now I want to add the application version number to MANIFEST.MF.
    Is it possible to do the manifest file modification IN THE EXISTING EAR FILE (or while creating the EAR file with ojdeploy) with ant task or do I have to do the modification in the source MANIFEST.MF and after this create EAR file with ojdeploy?
    BTW: I tried the <ear> task to create the EAR file instead of using ojdeploy but I was not able to find the needed deployment descriptor (appxml="application.xml") in my ADF appication.
    regards
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
    I don't know of a way to do it directly in ANT/ojdeploy. However, you could try exploding the EAR, updating the manifest, and recreating the EAR - cumbersome and slow, but it should work.

  • Refering to JNDI name in other EAR file

    Hi, there:
    Our team is trying to write a session bean as a factory to serve
    other beans. Even the JSP (or other clients) can find the correct
    session bean residing on different ear file, the factory can't return
    properly when the returning parameter is a java object (it works fine
    if we only return int/string/etc). Is there a work-around to make
    these work?
    Thanks,

    Hi Ravi,
    Can you please post the error message and stack trace? Also what version of WLS are you
    using? The more relevant information you can give me, the more likely I'll be able to
    help you.

  • Default ejb JNDI name in websphere ear

    Hi,
    I am using ejb2.0-2.1 in websphere 6.0 WAS.
    I have a local entity ejb.
    I wish to define a service locator for this as a singleton class that caches the entity bean's home after doing a JNDI lookup.
    I am interested in two things.
    1) Since my service locator is a simple singleton class I want it to lookup the local ejb homes using the JNDI names supplied in the websphere specific deployment descriptors correspondiing to ejb-jar.xml. (No point in even thinking of any ejb-local-ref) My service locator is defined inside the same ejb jar.
    2) Ideally I would like to not specify any explicit JNDI names in any websphere specific DD for the local ejb homes. I would like to use a JNDI name based on the ejb-name itself.
    I have been able to do 2) using JBoss.
    Thanks.

  • Error 160078 when deploying WAR file after EAR file

    I am tetsing an application which does automatic deployment to WebLogic 8.1 running on Windows XP using ejbgen tool through Ant.
    The following deployment sequence produces an error. I deploy an EAR file with EJB JAR and WAR file inside. It deploys correctly. I then undeploy the EAR file. This also works. • "Java-Bean: True" missing after being packed in jar file

    Hi All
    X86, Windows XP Professional, J2SDK 1.4.2
    I complied a section of code ", which is from << Thinking In Java>>(3rd).
    Created a manifest file "BangBean.tmp"
    <<
    Name: bangbean/BangBean.class
    Java-Bean: True
    >>
    And then packed class files into "BangBean.jar" with command
    "jar cfm BangBean.jar Bang BangBean.tmp bangbean".
    It's puzzling that "Java-Bean: Ture" was missing in the "BangBean.jar/META-INF/MENIFEST.MF" .
    <<
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: 1.4.2 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    Name: bangbean/BangBean.class
    >>
    What's more, after altering the"BangBean.tmp" into this
    <<
    Java-Bean: True
    Name: bangbean/BangBean.class
    >>
    and had a another try.
    I got a jar file with such MENIFEST.MF.
    <<
    Manifest-Version: 1.0
    Created-By: 1.4.2 (Sun Microsystems Inc.)
    Java-Bean: True
    Name: bangbean/BangBean.class
    >>
    This jar file worked well in BDK's beanbox.
    I've test it with JSDK 1.5.0, the same thing happened.
    And I didn't encounter such problem in other bean programs.
    I've searched " 'Java-Bean: True' missing " with google, but didn't get proper answers.
    Is there anybody who can give a prompt about why this happend?
    Thanks a lot for your help!

    Since you didn't use code-formatting tags ([ code ] and [ /code ] without the spaces) it's kinda hard to look at it. But I'm sure it DID execute much more than just the return statement - maybe you're not closing a file or db connection, or maybe you're seeing a cached page, so it actually isn't executing ANYTHING on the server (is your browser set to never check for newer pages so it (almost) always returns from cache, for example?)
