JNDI parameter for sql taglib

I want to use sql taglibirary that will use jndi datasource. What is teh correct syntax?
let say my connectionpool name is conpool.
I tried
<sql setDataSource dataSource="conpool">
doesn't work
I even tried 'jdbc/connpool' and 'java:comp/env/jdbc/conpool' none worked, what is the correct syntax?
Shailesh

you have to create a datasource for the connection pool and use the jndi name specified there. java:comp is when you define a resource reference in web.xml

    Hi,
    The format that appears by Default for date printing in the List is picked from SU01 parameters or SU3
    You can change the defaults by going into ur system profile.
    Su01 - Change - Go into Defaults tab.
    U can see various details like Start Menu, Logon lamguage, Decimal notation and date format. Choose the format u want and save .
    But the Date Format Is not reflected just by changing the format, you need to Log Off and Log In again to see the changed format in the output.

  • JNDI lookup() for sql server jdbc datasource returns null

    Hi,
    I am trying to use a jdbc datasource in tomcat 5 to access a sql server 2000 database. I had many common problems and did found an answer to them in the forums but I'm having one last (I hope) problem. My program is also using a mySQL datasource and it works fine.
    The problem is that my lookup returns null. No exception, just null. It seems that many people had this problem but I didn't found any answer to it.
    This is the lookup code:
        Context ctx = new InitialContext();
        Context envCtx = (Context)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env");
        axaptaDS = (DataSource) envCtx.lookup("jdbc/axapta"); //returns null :(This my context.xml config:
    <ResourceParams name="jdbc/axapta">
        <parameter>
          <name>factory</name>
          <value>com.microsoft.jdbcx.sqlserver.SQLServerDataSourceFactory</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>url</name>
          <value>jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://hostname:1433</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>password</name>
          <value>password</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>maxActive</name>
          <value>4</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>maxWait</name>
          <value>5000</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>driverClassName</name>
          <value>com.microsoft.jdbcx.sqlserver.SQLServerDataSource</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>username</name>
          <value>username</value>
        </parameter>
        <parameter>
          <name>maxIdle</name>
          <value>2</value>
        </parameter>
      </ResourceParams>And I also put these lines in my web.xml file:
    <resource-ref id="ResourceRef_1092254277306">
         <res-ref-name>jdbc/axapta</res-ref-name>
         <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
         <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
         <res-sharing-scope>Shareable</res-sharing-scope>
    </resource-ref>Thanks for helping!

    I finally found a remedy to this problem:
    specify this driver instead and remove the entry about the factory in the context's .xml file:
    com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver

  • SQL Statement as Parameter for Stored Proc

    This works fine in SQL script, but doesn't work when converting the script to a sp.  It doesn't like how I've defined the @PeriodEndDate parameter.  How do I set the variable to the results of a SQL statement?
    CREATE PROCEDURE usp_ARAging
    -- Add the parameters for the stored procedure here
    @FiscalYear int = 2014,
    @FiscalPeriod int = 5,
    @PeriodEndDate date = (SELECT MAX(JEDate) FROM ERPSQL01.EpicorNamg905.Accounting.Dim_JEDate
    WHERE FiscalYear = @FiscalYear
    AND FiscalMonth = @FiscalPeriod)
    Kirk P.

    Let's start over.  The default value of a procedure argument is a "suggestion" - a value to be used when it is not provided by the caller.  So is your goal to allow the user to supply any date, not just the one that coincides with the
    fiscal year and period values?  IF not, then it should not be a parameter and the value should be determined by the code inside the stored procedure.
    However, if your goal is to allow any value, then you must follow the rules for specifying an appropriate default and those rules are very restrictive.  You cannot use a query nor can you refer to other parameters.  The typical approach is to use
    a "marker" value which the caller uses to indicate that it wants to use the true "default" value which you would then determine inside your stored procedure.  Often a value of NULL is used; in your procedure the code checks this parameter
    for a null value and, if found, assigns it the value you used in your query above.
    And while we're at it, you should code defensively and check that the set of values supplied as parameters are consistent with each other and with the logic that depends on them.  For example, presumably the period argument should be between 1 and 12
    (and not null).  I suggest you reconsider the use of integers since the domain of these values FAR EXCEEDS that allowed for years and months for most business purposes.

  • Parameter for Current Month and Previous Month

    I'm trying to create a parameter for current month and previous month based on the ex_date, but not sure what i'm doing wrong.
    where ex_date = @SelectDate
    I created a second dataset below for the values in the parameters.
    SELECT Month(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP) AS 'Month', 'Current Month' as 'Current Month'
    union all
    SELECT Month(CURRENT_TIMESTAMP)-1 AS Month, 'Previous Month' as 'Previous Month'
    Results
    Month Current Month
    3 Current Month
    2 Previous Month
    Once I preview it I get "Conversion failed when converting date and/ or time from character string" I changed the data type to "date/Time" but that did not make a difference. The date is convert (varchar(10), ex_date, 101) so looks like
    11/12/2014.
    I've also tried expressions like =month(now()) to pull current month with same error so i'm not sure what i'm doing wrong. Any ideas?

    i tired this real simple report
     in the first dataset - my main report query - select name from sysdatabases where month(crdate())=@month
    in the second dataset - select month(getdate()) as Month1
    in the parameters - choose int data type and available values - select the second data set
    in the first data set- add this parameter..( i am assumming you know this, since you have done)
    in the preview you should get the drop down with current month number - 3
    and if you run the report, it will display the database names that were created in march. remember we are no checking year, so will get all that were created in march across the years.
    Hope it Helps!!
    I'm looking to have the dropdown say "Previous Month" and "Current Month" as a option. I know how to get the information in SQL, but not sure how this translates or put into a parameter.
    Current Month
    list_date BETWEEN
    DATEADD(MONTH, DATEDIFF(MONTH, 0, GETDATE()), 0)
    AND
    DATEADD(MONTH, DATEDIFF(MONTH, 0, GETDATE()) + 1, 0)
    Previous Month
    list_date between
    CONVERT(varchar,dateadd(d,-(day(dateadd(m,-1,getdate()-2))),dateadd(m,-1,getdate()-1)),106) /* Last Month */
    and
    CONVERT(varchar,dateadd(d,-(day(getdate())),getdate()),106)

    Hi DMcGarveyt,
    This is an known issue in SSRS 2008 R2 SP3. For this issue, Microsoft has published an article addressing this issue. It is not planning to release a fix for this defect. But there's workarounds for this issue. Please refer to the link below:

    Hi,
    For above error the error code is 2 which means system cannot find the file specified. It is saying it is unable to write at location which means SQL server account does not have access to
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log\20140920_074907\Registry_SOFTWARE_Microsoft_MSSQLServer.reg_
    You can manually go to the location and add required rights may be installable is corrupt
    Now did you ran SQL server setup as administrator. Always right click on setup.exe file and select run as administrator.
    Please make sure you disable antivirus running on machine. Also if you have any registry scanner software which scans registry remove it as well.

    Welcome to the forums !
    This seems to be a known issue - pl see these MOS Docs
    https://supporthtml.oracle.com/ep/faces/secure/km/BugDisplay.jspx?id=9772888&bugProductSource=Oracle
    9772888.8 - Bug 9772888 - "WARNING:Could not lower the asynch I/O ... It is set to -1" messages
    Seems to be fixed on 11.2.0.2 (or 10.2.0.5 patch 1 for Windows - see MOS Doc 342443.1 (10.2.0.x Oracle Database and Networking Patches for Microsoft Platforms))
    Pl open an SR with Support to verify if this is a cause for concern, as it is not clear from these docs whether this causes any corruption

  • Date Format on OWB 11.1.0.7 to use for input parameter for a mapping

    All,
    What is the Date Format on OWB 11.1.0.7 to use for passing in an input parameter for a mapping to execute?
    I have tried '01-01-2010','01-JAN-2010','01.01.2010', 01/01/2010 and I get the following error:
    Error RPE-01003: An infrastructure condition prevented the request from completing.
    Error RPE-01038: Failed to evaluate expression declare l_expression DATE := 01/01/2010;begin :result := wb_rt_conversions.from_date(l_expression);end;. Please modify the expression, redeploy and retry again.

    I am using a Mapping Input parameter object and have a START_DATE_IN as a DATE and an END_DATE_IN as a DATE
    Any information you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shaun

    Hello Shaun,
    The function wb_rt_conversions.from_date is (at least in OWB10.2) overloaded and can with input-types as
    date, timestamp_unconstrained, timestamp_tz_unconstrained, timestamp_ltz_unconstrained or varchar2.
    If it doesn't work with varchar2 I would try Date:
    For example: to_date('2010-01-01','YYYY-MM-DD')
    I also found this thread:

    Please post a description of the problem, including CREATE TABLE and INSERT statments for any tables you need (unless you can state the problem using commonly available tables, such as those in the data dictionary or the scott schema), a few values of a parameter (or examples of different user names, if USER acts like a parameter) and the results you want from the same data for each value.

    "In addition to the scott.dept table, I have a table called my_dept: CREATE TABLE my_dept ...
    which has this data: INSERT INTO my_dept ...
    I need a script such that, when user scott runs it, the results are ...
    but when any other user runs it, the results are ..
    As you can see, the difference is ..."
    Table names must be explicitly given when a SQL statement is compiled. That's why I usggested a preliminary query; so by the time you compiled the main query, the table name would be known and could be passed in a substitution variable.
    If you really want to do it in one query, you can do a UNION of two queries, one of which returns nothing because of the parameter. It's not very efficient.

  • How to add a parameter to sql query in report

    Hi
    How to add a parameter to sql query in report.
    Parameter is from Visual studio
    example:
    select * from tab1 where dl=parameter???
    I have VS 2008 prof CR XI R2, mysql

    Hello,
    If you have this API available then you can modify the record selection formulae in code to add filtering:
              string recordSelectionFormula = "{T_INV_RPT_ADDR.IND_PROMUS} = {?P_PROMUS?} AND {T_INV_RPT_POINT.INVOICE_DATE} = DATE(2008, 05, 31) AND {T_INV_RPT_POINT.CHECKOUT_DATE} = date(2008, 04,29)";
                CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument.RecordSelectionFormula = recordSelectionFormula;
    You have to format and follow the rules as in the Designer so not too much work to get this to work.
    CR for .NET may not have the ability so you will need to upgrade to a Developer version of Crystal Reports.
    Thank you
    Don

  • How to create a user parameter for a report

    Hi,
    I am writing a report in ORACLE 6.0, and I need to create a user
    parameter for my report.
    My database includes fields: item_id, item_cost, and item_desc.
    What I want to do is: set up a user parameter for item_cost, and
    the report will prompt the user to enter number into this
    parameter, then the report will display item_id and item_desc
    depending the user-entered item_cost.
    thanks.
    Jun

    My SQL code is below:
    select item_id, item_invo, item_desc
    from tb_item
    where item_invo=:p_1
    but I got an error message:
    REP-0788:Warning: The value of restricted LOV parameter p_1 is
    not among the selectedble values.
    Would you help me again? Thanks.

  • OGG for SQL Server - Extract stops capturing - Bug?

    Hi, all,
    I've found a problem with OGG for SQL Server where the Extract stops capturing data after the transaction log is backed up. I've looked for ways to reconfigure OGG to avoid the problem but couldn't find any reference to options to workaround this problem. It seems to be a bug to me.
    My Extract configuration is as follows:
    EXTRACT ext1
    SOURCEDB mssql1
    TRANLOGOPTIONS NOMANAGESECONDARYTRUNCATIONPOINT
    EOFDELAY 60
    EXTTRAIL dirdat/e1
    TABLE dbo.TestTable;
    I'm using the EOFDELAY parameter for testing purposes only, since it's easy to reproduce the scenario that causes the issue when the extract polling is configured with longer intervals.
    When the Transaction Log backup runs, SQL Server marks all the virtual logs that are older than the primary and secondary truncation points as inactive (status = 0). These virtual logs can then be reused if required. They still contain change records, though, and OGG can read from then if required, before they are overwritten. This situation will never occur if we are not using SQL Replication and have the Extract configured with the parameter MANAGESECONDARYTRUNCATIONPOINT.
    However, I'm trying to simulate a scenario where OGG is used along SQL Replication and the extract is configured with the NOMANAGESECONDARYTRUNCATIONPOINT option. The situation that I've reproduced and caused the Extract to stop capturing is the follow sequence of events:
    1. Extract reads transaction log and capture change up to LSN X
    2. More change are made to the database and the LSN is incremented
    3. Log Reader reads Transaction Log, captures changes up to LSN X+Y and advances the secondary truncation point to that LSN
    4. A transaction log occurs, backs up all the active virtual logs, advances the primary truncation point to a LSN greater than LSN X+Y, and marks all the virtual logs with LSNs <= X+Y as inactive (status = 0)
    5. Changes continue to happen in the database consuming all the available inactive virtual logs and overwriting them.
    6. The extract wakes up again to capture more changes.
    At this point, the changes between LSNs X and X+Y are not in the Transaction Log anymore, but are available in the backups. From what I understood in the documentation the Extract should detect that situation and retrieve the changes from the Transaction Log backups. This, however, is not happening and the Extract becomes stuck. It still pools the transaction log at the configured interval query the log state with DBCC LOGINFO, but doesn't move forward anymore.
    If I stop and restart the Extract I can see from the trace that it does the right thing upon startup. It realises that it requires information that's missing from the logs, query MSDB for the available backups, and mine the backups to get the required LSNs.
    I would've thought the Extract should do the same during normal operation, without the need for a restart.
    Is this a bug or the normal operation of the Extract? Is there a way to configure it to avoid this situation without using NOMANAGESECONDARYTRUNCATIONPOINT?
    The following is the state of the Extract once it gets stuck. The last replicated change occurred at 2012-07-09 12:46:50.370000. All the changes after that, and there are many, were not captured until I restarted the Extract.

    It might be something simple (or maybe not); but the best/fastest way to troubleshoot this would be to have Oracle (GoldenGate) support review your configuration. There are a number of critical steps required to allow GG to interoperate with MS's capture API. (I doubt this is it, but is your TranLogOptions on one line? It looks like you have it on two , the way it's formatted here.)
    Anyway, GG support has seen it all, and can probably wrap this up quickly. (And if it was something simple -- or even a bug -- do post back here & maybe someone else can benefit from the solution.)
    Perhaps someone else will be able to provide a better answer, but for the most part troubleshooting this (ie, sql server) via forum tends to be a bit like doing brain surgery blindfolded.

  • Question about 'direct' parameter in sql loader utility

    Hi eveyone,
    Today I was asked what the advantages and disadvantages of 'direct' parameter of sql loader.
    In my opinion, if swithing direct on, oracle use direct path load.
    And it has no difference from the append hind in insert statement.
    The core merits are less redo hence faster.
    The main shortcoming is since little redo generated, we have to ask DBA to back up the data according to the rules immediately after the loading.
    Does my answer make sense or not? Plesae help to point out the important things I missed.
    best regards,
    Leon

    Hi,
    Direct path Export is much faster than conventional path Export because the data is read from disk into the buffer cache and rows are transferred directly to the Export client.
    Some conditions to use DIRECT parameter are,
    1. The Export parameter BUFFER applies only to conventional path Exports. For direct path Export, use the RECORDLENGTH parameter to specify the size of the buffer that Export uses for writing to the export file.
    2. You cannot use direct path when exporting in tablespace mode (TRANSPORT_TABLESPACES=Y).
    3. The QUERY parameter cannot be specified in a direct path Export.
    Thanks
