JNI static method call fails for the 6th time

Hello,
I have a JNI Method which calls the static method which gets reference to singleton class(getReference()), JVM crashes.
what might be the problem?
is it due to insufficient memory or any other reason?
Here is my code.
eScannerClass = gEnv->FindClass("com/elvista/jscaner/EScanner");
eScannerContructId = gEnv->GetStaticMethodID(eScannerClass,"getReference","()Lcom/elvista/jscaner/EScanner;");
eScannerUpdateMethodId = gEnv->GetMethodID(eScannerClass,"updateScanStatus","(Lcom/elvista/jscaner/EScanEvent;)V");
eScannerObjectRef = gEnv->NewObject(eScannerClass,eScannerContructId);Thanx for any help on this.

Hi,
the eScannerContructId is refering a static method, not a constructor. Therefore you must not use gEnv->NewObject, which is only allowed for constructors. Instead you have to use gEnv->CallStaticObjectMethod to call getReference().

  • ITunes fails for the 4th time

    As the title says this is the 4th time iTunes has Crashed for me since 2009. I am at my limit with it and NO I am NOT going to BABY it. It's a program that should be as dependable as it is advertised.
    My iTunes .itl library file is constantly becoming damaged without just cause. The -50 warning keeps popping up for NO reason prior to this and through ALL of the Upgrades iTunes has Failed to fix it's issues. I do not use the album art option, I do not use Genius, I don't use any of iTunes flashy bells and whistles. I use the library list and play-list option.
    I have over 2k of sorted music and songs and I'm sick and tired of reinstalling them. That's over 30 days worth of music over 12k of songs and over 100 sorted play lists with more than 5+ hours of reinstalling and sorting.
    I have a back up drive running. EVERYTHING I do is backed up to it and When Itunes file breaks Guess what? So does the back up. The Good copy is now upgraded to the Damaged one.
    I have had nothing but disappointing FAILURES since iTunes upgraded and the icon went from Green to Blue. Whether or not that has anything to do with it I don't know. But there is absolutely No reason for me to be this dissatisfied with a product. Especially for the 4th time "this year".

    To HOST. I do not know who you are. Regardless I will NOT have you editing my post to "make it pretty". I have a problem. I am a dissatisfied customer. I WILL Get results. I will CALL APPLE if I have to, but I spoke of NO foul language in my prior post. Should I find my words EDITED Again WITHOUT my permission I will go to higher ground.
    This is my original Post. DO NOT Edit it. You send a Superior to get in contact with me if YOU have a problem with it.

    I WILL NOT have someone come into this thread and tell me I should make a back up file of my itunes library for "just in case" and to just copy paste the good one back in. NO. This is a SUPPORT Board Someone better take care of my issue by either requesting my Damaged .itl file and FIXING IT, Or PAY ME to keep my service with Apple. The exit code you are receiving is due to a security patch which you need to install before you can install the C++ redistributable.

    Then you install your C++ with the below link.
    Download Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4 from Official Microsoft Download Center
    Then you can install your Photoshop/Lightroom bundle
    Security is everything these days. Think about putting your system on an auto-update for security related patches, or due to 'other issues' if you'd rather, simply make it a rule to run the system update when you're checking your mail, that way you'll always stay up on the security updates. *IF* your system is vulnerable, to a javascript exploit, even if you are running HTTPS everywhere, you are at risk. Not only are you at risk, but every computer you come into contact with is then also at risk. Be kind to your internet neighbors and if you have any questions, see

    Hi,

    Fails again if tried in new ixplorer window. I tried to set conten-disposition, expires in response header and also tried to clearing the cache. But not resolved the issue.

    It should all be about cache headers (Pragma, Cache-Control, Expires, ...). Page expires as soon as it's saved on local file system and JWS finds nothing good there.
    Check header setting in your jsp.
    You can see if server is adding any just by making a GET request with telnet, Headers should be shown.

  • 500GB Hard drive failure - for the 4th time

    Ok, So i bought a macbook pro from Apple in about may 2010. It is a 500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 2.66GHz Intel Core i7 GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRM SuperDrive 8X DL.
    Since then the hard drive has failed 3 times and now it has failed for the 4th time this morning.
    I've complained to Apple and other than being made to feel like I'm the one causing a nuisance - Apple have told me repeatedly that my experience is unique and there are no known issues with their 500GB drive.
    Has anyone else experienced drive failures?
    Jason
    I'd be interested in hearing from you: [email protected]

    This sounds to me more like the problem may be with the interface between the motherboard and the HD.
    I'd be strongly inclined to insist on a replacement MBP as you're still in warranty.
    At the very least, get the complaint escalated beyond the shoploor level.

  • How to get the class name  static method which exists in the parent class

    Hi,
    How to know the name of the class or reference to instance of the class with in the main/static method
    in the below example
    class AbstA
    public static void main(String[] args)
    System.out.println(getXXClass().getName());
    public class A extends AbstA
    public class B extends AbstA
    on compile all the class and run of
    java A
    should print A as the name
    java B
    should print B as the name
    Are there any suggestions to know the class name in the static method, which is in the parent class.
    Regards,
    Raja Nagendra Kumar

    Well, there's a hack you can use, but if you think you need it,Could you let me the hack solution for this..
    you probably have a design flaw and/or a misunderstanding about how to use Java.)May be, but my needs seems to be very genuine..of not repeat the main method contents in every inherited class..
    The need we have is this
    I have the test cases inheriting from common base class.
    When the main method of the test class is run, it is supposed to find all other test cases, which belong to same package and subpackages and create a entire suite and run the entire suite.
    In the above need of the logic we wrote in the main method could handle any class provided it knows what is the child class from which this main is called.
    I applicate your inputs on a better way to design without replicating the code..
    In my view getClass() should have been static as the instance it returns is one for all its instances of that class.
    I know there are complications the way compiler handles static vars and methods.. May be there is a need for OO principals to advance..

  • Aleatory One factory fails for the operation "encode"-JPEG

    I've a very strange problem with JAI.write using JPEG, but is happening aleatory. Some times it works, some times I get the exception and some other times don't. What I've seen is that when I got first this error, then all the rest of the images throws it. I mean, I'm working OK and then I got the exception, from there, all the images, no matter that they were not trowing exceptions before, now they do, so I don't know what is happening. I'll post some code snippets and the full stack trace of the exception. Hope you can help me:
    First, I have a class that is a JSP-Tag:
    RenderedOp outputImage = JAI.create("fileload", imgFile.getAbsolutePath());
    int widthSize = outputImage.getWidth();
    int heightSize = outputImage.getHeight();
    try{
        outputImage.dispose();
    }catch(Exception e){}
    outputImage = null;That's the first thing, now, the second, this is a Servlet that writes the image to the browser (GetImageServlet its name, which appears in the stack trace):
    FileSeekableStream fss = new FileSeekableStream(file);
    RenderedOp outputImage = JAI.create("stream", fss);
    int widthSize = outputImage.getWidth();
    int heightSize = outputImage.getHeight();
    if ((outputImage.getWidth() > 0) && (outputImage.getHeight() > 0)) {
                        if ((isThumbnail) && ((outputImage.getWidth() > 60) || (outputImage.getHeight() > 60))) {
                             outputImage = ImageManagerJAI.thumbnail(outputImage, 60);
                        } else if (outputRotate != 0) {
                             outputImage = ImageManagerJAI.rotate(outputImage, outputRotate);
                        OutputStream os = resp.getOutputStream();
    resp.setContentType("image/jpeg");
         ImageManagerJAI.writeResult(os, outputImage, "JPEG");
                        outputImage.dispose();
                        os.flush();
                        os.close();
    outputImage = null;
    imgFile = null;The code of ImageManagerJAI.writeResult, which is a method I use above:
    public static void writeResult(OutputStream os, RenderedOp image, String type) throws IOException {
              if ("GIF".equals(type)) {
                   GifEncoder encoder = new GifEncoder(image.getAsBufferedImage(), os);
                   encoder.encode();
              } else {
                   JAI.create("encode", image, os, type, null);
         }And the full exception trace is:

  • Passing values to subreport in SSRS throwing an error - Data Retrieval failed for the report, please check the log for more details.

    Hi,
    I have the subreport calling from the main report. The subreport is based on MDX query agianst the SSAS cube. some dimensions in cube has values 0 and 1.
    when I try to pass '0' to the sub report as the parameter value, it gives an error "Data Retrieval failed for the report, please check the log for more details".
    Actually I am using table for storing these parameter values. In the main report I am calling this table (dataset) and passing these values to subreport.
    so I have given like [0],[1] and this works fine. when I give only either [0] or [1] then it is throwing an error.
    Could you please advise on this.
    Appreciate all and any help.
    Thanks,
    Divya

    Hi Divya,
    Based on the current description, I understand that there is no issue if you pass two values from main report to subreport, while the issue occurs when passing one value to subreport.
    To narrow down the issue, I want to confirm whether the subreport can run if there is only [0] or [1] in the subreport. If so, it indicates the query statements exist error in the subreport. If it’s not the case, this shows the issue occurs during passing
    values from main report to subreport. To make further analysis, please post the details of query statements of the subreport to the forum.

    I'm not an expert in JAI either, but I noticed you have an OutOfMemoryError at the bottom of your stacktrace. I'd focus on that.
    Are you dealing with a large image? Maybe try holding as little of the image in memory as possible. Do you have a small Java heap size? Maybe try increasing the footprint. etc...

  • Initializer block not called when static method called

    public class Initializer {
         Initializer(){
              System.out.println("Constructor called");
                   System.out.println("CLASS INITIALIZED");
         static void method(){
              System.out.println("Static method called");
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              Initializer.method();
    From the JLS
    A class or interface type T will be initialized immediately before the first occurrence of any one of the following:
    T is a class and an instance of T is created.
    T is a class and a static method declared by T is invoked.
    [b]
    But when i call the static method , if the class is initialized shouldnt the initializer block be called, it is not called, why.

    Perhaps running something like this will add a little more colour?:
    public class Initializer {
        static {
            System.out.println("First static initializer");
            System.out.println("First instance initializer");
        Initializer() {
            System.out.println("Constructor");
        static {
            System.out.println("Second static initializer");
            System.out.println("Second instance initializer");
        static void staticMethod() {
            System.out.println("staticMethod");
        void instanceMethod() {
            System.out.println("instanceMethod");
        public static void main(String[] args) {
            System.out.println("main");
            staticMethod();
            new Initializer().instanceMethod();
    }

  • Static Method Call

    Hi,
    I had a private method which is called in a number of different places in my class. I have changed this method to be a public static method, will this effect the other areas in this class which are calling this method?
    Thanks
    Dude

    Did you have to change any fields from instance to static? If not, then the method probably did not need to be an instance method and you should be Ok. You should just make sure that what the method is doing is not designed to update / manipulate an instance of the class.
