Job actions for individual files

Can I add a job action to only one output file within a job?
For example, I'm using one source file to create two compressed files (using two settings)--an mp3 audio and an mp4 video file.  I want to upload the mp4 to Vimeo when finished, but not the mp3.  When I add a Destination to the job, it seems to want to upload BOTH the mp4 and mp3 to Vimeo.  The Job Action is applied to all settings/files in the job, not just one.
The only workaround I've found is to copy and paste the original job to create two distinct jobs--one creating the mp3 file, and one creating the mp4 with the Vimeo job action.

Yes, the job actions apply to the batch
I'd make mutiple batches with the same source file – with and with job actions.

  • Is there a way to save a job action for YouTube upload in Compressor 3.5?

    Is there a way to save a job action for YouTube upload? I have about 25 - ten minute clips I want to upload and they all pretty much have the same description and tags. Is there a way to save/make a preset of the job actions that way I don't have to keep inputing the same usernames, passwords, descriptions, tags? Thank you

    the method mentioned by benwiggy will certainly work.  If you want to an option that would give you more options, you could use a PDF Service.  You could then put a specific job on hold while still allowing others to use the printer.
    You can do this by opening AppleScript Editor (/Applications/Utilities).  You can copy and paste the following into an editor window --
    on open printJobs
    tell application "Finder"
    set trapFile to quoted form of POSIX path of (printJobs as string)
    end tell
    set defaultPrinter to do shell script "lpstat -d | awk -F: '{print $2}'"
    do shell script "lpr -P" & defaultPrinter & " -q " & trapFile
    end open
    Save the file as an Application.  You can name it something like Hold Print Job.  Then just put it in the PDF Services directory in the Library directory of your Home folder <yourname>/Library/PDF Services.  You may need to make the PDF Services directory as it may not already be there.
    Once the file is in place, you can use it by using the PDF drop down menu at the bottom left of a print window.  That will send the file to the printer and put it on hold.  Others can still use the printer.  You can then print your file whenever you want.  Just open the print queue as mentioned by benwiggy.  Highlight the job that is Paused.  You will see a little curly icon at the very right (looks like a reload icon in a web browser).  Just click that icon and the job will start printing.

  • How do i add a download action for dxf files. firefox assumes its a text file and just opens it with no download action dialog box

    I want to add a download action for dxf files so they open in Autodesk trueview. The steps described here (http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing%20file%20types#w_adding-download-actions) say to click on a link for the filetype you want to add an action to but firefox thinks the dxf is a text file and just opens it in a new tab with no download action dialog box.

    Use the right-click context menu and choose "Save Link As" or hold down the alt key and left-click the link.

  • Download link custom action for video files

    Hi,
    I have a requirement for adding a custom action called "DOWNLOAD A COPY" in search results hover panel on click of which will download copy for the user. I am able to implement this for pdf, excel and word files but not for generic and video files
    types since ctx.CurrentItem object is not having any property pointing to the item URL. Can someone please help me in getting this property for video and generic file types.
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    SharepointLearner

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to custom action for context menu in "Site Content and Structure" in SharePoint 2010.
    In "SiteManager.aspx", SharePoint use MenuItemTemplate class which represent a control that creates an item in a drop-down menu.
    For example, to create or delete the ECB menu for a list item in
    "Site Content and Structure", we can follow the steps below:
    To add the “My Like” menu, we can add the code below:
    <SharePoint:MenuItemTemplate
    UseShortId=false
    id="OLListItemLike"
    runat="server"
    Text="My Like"
    ImageUrl="/_layouts/images/DelItem.gif"
    ClientOnClickNavigateUrl="https://www.google.com.hk/"
    />
    To remove the “Delete” menu, we can comment the code below:
    <SharePoint:MenuItemTemplate
    UseShortId=false
    id="OLListItemDelete"
    runat="server"
    Text="<%$Resources:cms,SmtDelete%>"
    ImageUrl="/_layouts/images/DelItem.gif"
    ClientOnClickScript="%SmtObjectDeleteScript%"
    />
    The result is as below:
    More information:
    MenuItemTemplate Class (Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls)
    MenuItemTemplate.ClientOnClickScript property (Microsoft.SharePoint.WebControls)

  • Button Actions for Attached Files with Limitations

    I have a slide with 5 buttons with the action to open up a pdf; one for each button.  Yet it seems that only 3 buttons will work no matter the order I click on them.  Does anyone know if there is a set limit to attached files that can be placed on one slide?

    Hi there
    No set limit I'm aware of. But it might be related to timing and pause points if you didn't properly configure the buttons.
    You should configure each button so it opens in a new window and the project does not continue playing.
    Another thing to check is the naming of the PDFs. When you upload to a web server it may be the case that you perhaps specified SomeFile.pdf in the link but the file is actually named SOMEFILE.PDF or somefile.pdf. (case can factor in here)
    Hope this helps a bit... Rick

  • Firefox won't let me customize download action for rar files.

    When I download a .rar file, Firefox does not show any option to "open with" it just asks if I want to save it or not. The option isn't even grayed out, it's just not even there. The only option is to click "OK". I would like to set it to open with rar expander automatically.
    I have a mac.

    This has come up a few times before. Not sure whether all these old tricks work in the latest Firefox, but please take a look.

  • It should be possible to set default behavior for all file types

    It should be possible to set a default action for all file types. I'm so tired of having to manually sit and say "save this file" because Firefail always defaults to "open with" and has disabled the "Do this automatically for files like this from now on."
    And spare me the zealotry religious excuses for why its the fault of websites and not Firefail

    I do want users to have full control to be able to set any folder view they want by using Apply to Folders; I just want to set the initial/default view to Detail because that matches what the majority of my users want.
    That is, what registry setting changes when I go to a picture folder, change the view to Detail, and click Apply to Folders? Having done that, I still retain the ability to change it to some other view and apply that to folders. But what registry setting
    represents the change I just made when applying Detail view to all Picture folders.?
    This settings is simple via GUI, but it is related a lot of registry keys, I made a test in my machine, capture the "Apply to Folders" process using Regshot tool (this is a small tool which can compare the regsitry changes after you change some
    settings), and this is the result:
    this is part of the registry changes, a plenty of registry keys and values need to be changed. hard to list them here. if you have interests, I recommend the tool Regshot, it can help you capture the regsitry changes.

  • Roll back an entire project, not individual files

    Hi,
    is there a way to restore an entire project to a certain date? I can do it for individual files but have not found a global function.
    Normally when reaching major milestones we create a copy of the entire project anyway. So this is only relevant for rolling back shorter periods of time.
    Robert

    You can from your source control system (if it supports it, what it should). With TFS I just get a specific version of the project from Team Explorer. And with VSS I did the same: Open up the client and get the project from there.

  • How to add pdf.js option to 'Open With' dialog for PDF files?

    I've set the action for opening PDF files to 'Always Ask'. Then I can save the file or open it with any other pdf viewer. But the 'open with' option in that dialog box lists only the external pdf viewers. An option in that dialog box to view the file within firefox using pdf.js would be helpful.

    Thanks but I'm aware of that. What I need is to keep the option as 'Always Ask' without changing it to 'Preview in Firefox'. And then when I click on a pdf link, it would open up the dialog box asking what to do. It has several options such as 'Open With' and 'Save File'. What I want is to have 'Preview in Firefox' as an option in that dialog box. So then I can choose some files to open in Firefox, some to download and some to open in external readers. I would choose the action for each file. Is that possible?

  • PS Action - Batch Selective File Types

    Hi,
    My camera software dumps jpegs and raw files into a single folder.
    I am wanting to batch (automate) process the jpegs in said folder, but not the camera's raw files.  How do I employ an action that will only run on the jpegs in the folder and skip the raw files?

    Noel is correct.  The Picture Processor is a script like the Image Processor that provide you with options for saving Image File types with setting for the the format with optional resize with better naming abilities then an action can provide.
    Automate Batch and the Image Processor scripts are similar in some respects. They can Process Open files or Files selected in the Bridge or all image files in a folder and even process image files in sub folders. The image processor has more output options the batch it can save more then one image file for each image processed run different actions for each file to be saved.  Scripts and Plug-ins have more abilities than actions for they can use logic and retrieve and pass information.
    Paul's Processor is much the same however he provides you with a input file filter only image file that match the filter will be processed.
    The image processing done by these scripts and plug-ins can be customized by the use of actions recorded by users. Actions which are easy to record for they need not be concerned saving and naming output files.

  • [SOLVED] which mimetype is qbittorrent using for previewing files?

    How do I find out which mimetype qbittorent uses to preview a file when I right-click on a downloaded/-ing torrent and select "preview file"? It is definitely not application/x-directory, can someone tell me which it is and how I can figure this out myself in the future?
    My problem is previewing opens in Firefox as a "file://" url, but I want this to be handled by vlc or rox...
    Thanks!!
    Last edited by awayand (2011-06-02 16:15:47)

    I am going to answer my own question here:
    The mime type somehow is in the file so it is not the app that says "use mime type x on this file" but it's rather "use whatever mime type is associated with this file". To see a mime type of a file called test.mp4 use this command:
    $ xdg-mime query filetype test.mp4
    In my example I got this:
    audio/mp4; charset=binary
    Now we set the mime-type, in my example I want to use rox to handle this file, and then configure rox to use vlc:
    xdg-mime default rox.desktop audio/mp4
    Since I already set the default action for that file in rox with a right-click and then using "vlc" as the command, this now works beautifully.
    If you are wondering, setting the default app for a mime type will edit the file
    ~/.local/share/applications/defaults.list
    and add the following for this magic to work:
    [Default Applications]
    audio/mp4=rox.desktop
    On a side note, does anyone else feel that freedesktop.org's documentation really blows? Isn't all of the above supposed to be explained for example here? http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Specifi … -info-spec
    EDIT: I added this into the wiki here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ch … rary_files
    as this is the first page that showed up when I searched "mime" in the wiki...

  • Add blurary job action to files already encoded

    Hi,
    If I have already encoded h264 and ac3 files using bluray presets from a prores master, but I did not use the "create blurary disc job action".  Is it possible to add the job action to the 2 files I already created without having to re-encode again?
    How do I link the 2 files together in the batch?
    I am using Compressor 4.
    Thanks

    Hi alexgrainger (UK) & Russ H (Boston)
    Permit me to join this thread even though it is six months old and has been previously “solved”. I can’t seem to find anything close to my problem in the Apple Forum, (Compressor Community or any other)
    I’d like to ask you guys how you used the Compressor job pane to link an AC.3 file and an H.264 file in the Job pane, and eventually achieve BluRay burning.
    It seems as though you guys were successful and I would appreciate even a little help.
    First of all, I am using Final Cut Studio 2  (FCP 7.0.2, Compressor 3.5.4, Soundtrack 3.0.1) on an Intel iMac with OS 10.6.3,  and want to burn the 1920x1080 video and six channel audio from an AVCHD camcorder to BluRay.
    (Maybe what I want to do can’t be done with the software I have?)
    I have set up the H.264 video file (no audio) using an export from QT Conversion.  I have set up a separate AC3 audio file containing six channels corresponding to the same video using Apack.
    I can burn a BluRay disc of the AC3 file with no video.  On playback through my Panasonic BluRay player and Yamaha Amp, the amp display indicator shows the Dolby Digital six icons, and is further confirmed with audio from all six speakers.
    And I can burn a separate BluRay of the H264 file if it contains 2Ch Stereo signals.
    Now, How do I get BOTH of these files (AC3 & H264 no audio) into a Compressor job pane at the same time.
    I can drag one or the other of these two files to the thumbnail (area containing a down arrow), but not both at the same time.  A Note in the Help Users file: “If you drag multiple files to the thumbnail area, only the last file is added to this job and all other files are ignored.”
    The Inspector windows for individual video and audio files seem to be set properly, but when I check the A/V Attributes, for Video or Audio, one or the other seems blank, which confirms in sort the above statement in the Help file.
    So, if you will, could you take a moment and describe how you got to a BluRay burn with Compressor, when Compressor job pane contain separate H264 and  AC3 files.  Is there Compressor template for this combo?  Is there a special process to get both of these together?
    Obviously, I’m a newbie at Compressor.  I would just like to burn to BluRay the beautiful video and surround channels coming out of my new AVCHD camcorder.
    Thanks in advance,
    BoBo   (CT)

  • Image Sequences and Batch Processing: Can opening files from different folders as image sequences be set up as an action for batch processing?

    I have an ongoing series of tasks that necessitates opening the contents of a series of folders as image sequences.
    I'm used to setting up some fairly complex actions, including ones that are intended to be applied to all of the contents of materials in various subfolders, but for some reason I cannot get an Open-with-Image-Sequence-Checked action to set up in a way that will batch process correctly.
    Complicating matters is that the file prefixes (i.e., the letters before the sequential numbers) and the folders will always have different names from the last time the process had to be carried out.
    The steps I would like the action to carry out would be the following:
    1. Open Subfolder 1 - that is, Photoshop shouldn't be looking for a specific folder. It's just *any* subfolder to the current parent folder.
    2. Select first file in sequenced set of files.
    3. Open as an image sequence.
    4. Open Subfolder 2.
    5. Select first file in sequenced set of files.
    6. Open as an image sequence.
    ...rinse and repeat until Photoshop runs out of subfolders to check.
    Am I asking the impossible?
    Thanks!

    I'll look around there,  because I had posted something about this and was told to look here ps-scripts - Browse /Image Processor Pro/v3_0 at SourceForge.net
    then this is the image here:
    is the result I received.  Granted I'm new to using scripts and actions for image processing large amounts of files.
