Job step duration of currently running job
Greetings!
I have the below query against [dbo].[sysjobsteps] to calculate step duration which is almost perfect for my needs except that it is only showing steps for the
completed job and not steps for a job in progress.
I need to track steps in progress, and as a step completes, report back the duration it took to complete. Any idea how to achieve this? Thanks in advance for any advice you may offer!
;with activeJobStepDuration as (
SELECT
job_id
,step_id
,step_name
,last_run_outcome
,last_run_date
,last_run_duration
,last_run_time
,CONVERT(DATETIME, RTRIM(last_run_date)) + ((last_run_time / 10000 * 3600) + ((last_run_time % 10000) / 100 * 60) + (last_run_time % 10000) % 100 /*run_time_elapsed_seconds*/)
/ (23.999999 * 3600 /* seconds in a day*/) AS LastStart_DateTime

+ (last_run_duration % 10000) % 100 /*run_duration_elapsed_seconds*/) / (86399.9964 /* seconds in a day*/) AS LastEnd_DateTime
FROM [dbo].[sysjobsteps] AS sjs WITH (NOLOCK)
WHERE job_id = 'F86B0B2E-D2C2-46B3-B48A-618DA136ED4F' )
SELECT a.*
,datediff(minute,a.LastStart_DateTime,a.LastEnd_DateTime) as 'Step Duration (Mins)'
FROM activeJobStepDuration a
Okay that is much closer, using the blog you posted I found this query below. However, I want to track the duration of each step while the job is running! Any ideas?
SELECT
ja.job_id,
j.name AS job_name,

What SQL Server Agent jobs are currently running and for how long
Is there a way to tell what SQL Server Agent jobs are currently running and for how long? View history isn't working in my case because it's only showing completed jobs. John Schroeder
You can use the "Job Activity Monitor" for doing this. Do the following steps. It will open up the Job Activity Monitor.
1. In Object Explorer, connect to an instance of the SQL Server Database Engine, and then expand that instance.
2. Expand SQL Server Agent.
3. Right-click Job Activity Monitor and click View Job Activity.
4. In the Job Activity Monitor, you can view details about each job that is defined for this server.
In Job Activity Monitor page, we have column called Status. It will indicate whether job is executing or idle. Last Run column will give you the last invocation time of this job.
Use the following link for further reference.

What does it means this error when jobs fail and how can be avoided? That is really boring..
Skipped Reason: An execution in the current run or one of the previous runs was suspended by the system.
Thanks
RosarioIt means exactly what it says. One of the previous runs of this job is in a Suspended status. Look at all the past executions until you find a Suspended run, then either resume or stop it.

How to find the current running jobs.
Hi All,
Can u please tell me how can i find the current running jobs in oracle.
OS : windows
DB VERSION: 10.2.0.1
Thanks,
srini...Don't think so..
For the running jobs ( the ones in flight right now..)
if you used the scheduler
select owner , job_name , running_instance, session_id from all_scheduler_running_jobs
order by owner , job_name
If you used dbms_job ( you really should the scheduler ...)
select job, instance, sid from dba_jobs_running
order by instance, job

Need steps for rehosting FR currently running on windows 2008 R2 to LinuxOS
Need steps for rehosting FR server currently running on windows 2008 R2 to Oracle Linux 5 OS
I found something for essbase in oracle EPM whitepaper library but not for FR. Did anyone of you out there try this.
Any ideas/thoughts.
Thanks in AdvanceIf it's 11.1.2.1 or 11.1.2.2 you simply install it in the new host, configure it and you can either manually edit the mod_wl.conf file to point to the new server or you can re-run the web server (OHS) configuration wherever it is installed. Beware though that if you do this you will not be able to run FR against HFM.

I am currently running OS 10.5.8 What is going to be my FIRST step to take to upgrade to an OS that will allow me to use iCloud? I am an absolute novice!
thanks!Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
Whilst Apple have withdrawn Snow Leopard from their stores, you can still get it from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (if you are in the USA) and they will supply the SL DVD for $20 for a single user, or $30 for a family pack that covers up to 5 Macs. You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:
http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
If you are outside the US call your national Apple Helpline:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
If you're in the UK, use this number: 0871 508 4400
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
To use iCloud you have to upgrade all the way to Mountain Lion:

Every time I sign in, it signs me out immediately. I've tried deleting the opm file and it's unable to do so because "Adobe CC is currently running this file." I've also changed my LAN settings and downloaded something else that was supposed to help me out but nothing seems to fix the problem.
I think you'll find that the official Adobe advice here is misguided. First, deleting bits of the program and program data is, as you've noted, perilous and often impossible. Shame on Adobe for doing such a poor job of coding that such steps are needed.
The solution I recommend is as follows:
Restart your Windows machine and boot in "Safe Mode" with networking using the F8 key just as Windows starts.
Go to the Control Panel and select Programs. Find and Uninstall "Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop".
Reinstall it by downloading it from the website https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
Restart your machine.
Only in "Safe Mode" are you likely to be able to accomplish these tasks reliably. -
How to Get Current running Sqltext in 10g
I'm using 10g and i'm using following query to get current running sql.
SELECT A.SID,B.HASH_VALUE, OSUSER, USERNAME, SQL_TEXT
FROM V$SESSION A, V$SQLTEXT B
WHERE B.HASH_VALUE = A.SQL_HASH_VALUE
AND USERNAME LIKE upper('%UOBA%')
ORDER BY B.HASH_VALUE, B.PIECE;
This does work for all user-triggered sqls, procedures etc.
But when i submit a Oracle Job the above qurey doesn't give any output. So,could please anybody help me in this regard.
Thanks in Advance.I have found a way to retrieve some SQL statements for a session started by DBMS_JOB using v$open_cursor: however in my test, you can only retrieve some SQL statements in v$sql_area but not all of them: query takes some time to execute and some committed statements are not (or nor more) in v$open_cursor:
select s.sid, s.serial#, s.username, sq.sql_text
from v$open_cursor oc, v$sqlarea sq, v$session s
where s.username = 'TEST'
and oc.saddr = s.saddr
-- only for session started by DBMS_JOB
and s.sql_hash_value = 0
and oc.address = sq.address
and oc.hash_value = sq.hash_value;Message was edited by:

Read currently running workflow information
Hi everybody,
Please let me know if anyone came across a situation where we need to read the currently running workflow information..
To be precise, I have a workflow which starts a method, which in turn executes code present in an include.. Now, in this include, I need to know whether it was called from the workflow.. (What i mean to say is that, the include could have been called from many places.. like BAdI methods etc.. I need to execute a specific action only if it was called from the workflow.)
The plan could be something like.. "read all the currently running workflows and get the related information" .. Any idea how????
Regards,
Arun BHello again,
well, as long nobody else runs jobs using this background-user or changes the user-ID of the workflow-system, it'll work fine.
To be more precisely on the WF-BATCH user, you could also check for the configured name. Anyways, for a quick check/fix you could be fine when using this procedure.
However it'll not work within work-item execution from dialog-tasks, as then the actual user processed the code.
So here's the code snippet to determine the workflow user's user-id:
*Method signature:
* RETURNING VALUE( RV_WF_BATCH ) TYPE XUBNAME
* "User Name of workflow background user
method GET_WORKFLOW_USER.
DATA: lv_rfcdest TYPE RFCDES-RFCDEST.
* Read the RFC destination from workflow basic customizing
CALL FUNCTION 'SWW_WIM_RFC_DESTINATION_NAME'
IMPORTING
WORKFLOW_DESTINATION = lv_rfcdest.
* Read the user-ID from this destination
CALL FUNCTION 'RFC_READ_L_DESTINATION' "#EC CI_USE_WANTED
EXPORTING
DESTINATION = lv_rfcdest "#EC CI_USE_WANTED
AUTHORITY_CHECK = ' '
IMPORTING
USER = rv_wf_batch
EXCEPTIONS
OTHERS = 0.
endmethod. -
Where can I view all Business rules that are currently running
Hi,
I was told that this is available in our Planning v11 but can't find it.
where can I view all processes (such as Business rules) that users are currently running ?
thanks.Hi,
They are probably meaning the job console > Tools > Job console.

Installing Snow Leopard on a MacBook that is currently running Tiger
Is it possible to install Snow Leopard on my MacBook that is currently running Tiger? I have heard rumors that Leopard must be installed before Snow Leopard will work. I bought a white MacBook about three and a half years ago with Tiger installed.
1. The Snow Leopard installer itself runs the equivalent of Disk Utility's verify disk step on the volume selected for the install, so while this remains a good idea when upgrading to Leopard or other previous OS versions, doing it as a separate pre-install step is not necessary or likely to improve anything when upgrading to Snow Leopard.
In this respect the installer is quite finicky: if the volume doesn't pass verification, it will refuse to begin the install.
2. Aside from that, the installer is only finicky about two other things regarding format: (a) the drive must be formatted with the GPT (GUID Partition Table) partition scheme (the scheme the drives of all Intel Macs ship with) & (b) the table must conform to the standard GPT format. If the drive doesn't meet these criteria, the installer marks any volumes on it as not suitable for the install & users can't select them.
3. Some users seem unaware of just how different the Snow Leopard installer is from the earlier ones. When Apple talks about streamlining it in the product's blurb, it refers to much more than just eliminating the old Archive & Install and Erase & Install options, notably:
• Unlike the old Upgrade option, SL's version completely replaces the existing OS component files with the ones from the installer's 'payload.' (The old Upgrade option just replaced or patched components that had been changed for that OS version.) This is why the single provided option is equally suitable for a volume that contains an existing OS or an empty one. (It's also why upgrading from Leopard or Tiger works essentially the same way.)
• The new installer doesn't create a "Previous Systems" folder like the old Archive & Install did. There is no reason for this largely redundant folder anymore, since the new installer selectively leaves in place user-added items from the old system folders that they previously had to move back into those folders manually if they wanted to restore their functionality. However, if the "Previous Systems" folder exists because a user did an A&I with an older OS installer, the new one leaves it in place. But since the new OS ignores it, just as previous ones did, this has no effect on OS operation.
• If -- but only if -- users start the install process by launching the "Install Mac OS X" pre-install application while running from an installed OS, that app will use the installed OS's network settings to 'phone home' to Apple's database of software known to be incompatible with Snow Leopard & use that info to decide what if anything to move to a root level "Incompatible Software" folder during the install. The DVD has its own short list, but since that list was created before the DVD was made, it is now out-of-date & incomplete. Thus, it is always a good idea to start the install this way when possible, just as Apple recommends.
• Other minor refinements that only work if there is an existing OS include automatically deciding if Rosetta or Quicktime Player 7 should be installed, automatic language selection for the install process, & enabling the 'install drivers only for local & nearby printers' option. Each of these depends in some way on what's already installed.
4. All these refinements do not make the new installer 100% reliable but they eliminate the most common problems users had with the older ones, especially if they follow Apple's instructions & *do not* erase the drive beforehand. Just as the Installation Guide included on the disc (also available online here) says in the "Advice about installing" section, erasing the drive should be reserved for the rare times when the normal method fails. -
Why can't I upgrade to yosemite? I'm currently running snow leopard on my white macbook.
White MacBooks are NOT eligible to upgrade to either 10.8 Mounain Lion, 10.9 Mavericks or 10.10 Yosemite.
You maybe able to upgrade your white MacBook to OS X 10.7 Lion
OS X Lion system requirements
To use Lion, make sure your computer has the following:
An Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
Mac OS X v10.6.6 or later to install via the Mac App Store (v10.6.8 recommended)
7 GB of available disk space
2 GB of RAM
You can purchase a OS X 10.7 Download code here.

Before embarking on a major OS upgrade, it would be wise, advisable and very prudent if you backup your current system to an external connected and Mac formatted Flash drive OR externally connected USB, Thunderbolt or FireWire 800, Mac formatted hard drive. Then, use either OS X Time Machine app to backup your entire system to the external drive OR purchase, install and use a data cloning app, like CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper, to make an exact and bootable copy (clone) of your entire Mac's internal hard drive. This step is really needed in case something goes wrong with the install of the new OS or you simply do not like the new OS, you have a very easy way/procedure to return your Mac to its former working state.
Next,
If you run any older Mac software from the earlier PowerPC Macs, then none of this software will work with the newer OS X versions (10.7 and onward). OS X Snow Leopard had a magical and invisible PowerPC emulation application, called Rosetta, that worked seamlessly in the background that still allowed older PowerPC coded software to still operate in a Intel CPU Mac.
The use of Rosetta ended with OS X Snow Leopard as the Rosetta application was licensed to Apple, from a software company called Transitive, which got bought out, I believe, by IBM and Appe could no longer secure their rights to continue to use Rosetta in later versions of OS X.
So, you would need to check to see if you have software on your Mac that maybe older than, say, 2006 or older.
Also, check for app compatibilty here.

If you have any commercial antivirus installed and/or hard drive cleaning apps installed on your Mac, like MacKeeper, CleanMyMac, TuneUpMyMac, MacCleanse, etc. now would be a good time to completely uninstall this apps by doing a Google search to learn how to properly uninstall these types of apps.
These types of apps will only cause your Mac issues later after the install of the new OS X version and you will have to completely uninstall these types of apps later.
Once you have determined all of this, you should be able download OS X 10.7 Luon from the Mac App Store icon in the OS X Dock and then login to the Mac App Store using your Apple ID and password.
You can then begin the download and installation process by using the paid download code to Download and install OS X 10.7 Lion rom the Mac App Store.
Good Luck!
