Job vs Job Family

Question

Hi guys,
There's requirement, so called 'Job Family',,, though it's a group of Job rather than Position per guided by definition of Job Family object type.... however, this Job is an additional Job type as well, which is customized thru different relationship other than 007...
The solution prior to knowing Job Family object exist was to used Job as well, yet identified by different relationships... Though I ran to a problem using Career Path since as I understand the career path is created and defined by Graphic Structure... Even though I use Job in Career Path, but when running Succession Plan, it didn't detect any Career Path model, thus I though it's resulted from 007 or standard relationship...
My question is,,, is there a way to configure additional relationship to make this Career Path work? If not, will Job Family Obj Type work instead? Which one would you recommend?
It's a long explanation I know, but hope I made it understandable for you to help me out.....

Hi,
Job Family identifies the global job profile.  The following infotypes and relationships needs  be maintained for the same.  All the maintenance of the Job Family needs tol be done at a global level. The assignment of the Job to the Job Family needs to be maintained locally.
