Jobs for Va05 in CSV or Xls format

Hi Experts
VA05 -List of Sales Order should be executed every 9:00 pm I am asking you if it is possible to create a scheduled job to create displayed query in "csv" or "excel" format.
Thanks in advance

Dear Friend,
Generally we use SM36 (Background Jobs) for Scheduling Back Ground Jobs for ABAP Programs & save the output into .csv or Excel files.
Please check with your ABAPer whether we can schedule Standard SAP programs like SAPMV75A (VA05) in SM36...
Hope this helps...
Thanks,

• Isuue: Exporting Data into xls format

Hi,
I've connected to DB via Jdeveloper!!
I tried using "export" function from Oracle DB Table,
Its exporting only sql scripts, I would like to know is there way to export the data(metadata) from DB tables into xls format.
Thanks!!!!

Wrong forum! You need to post the question in a JDeveloper forum.
https://community.oracle.com/community/developer/english/development_tools/application_development_in_java/jdeveloper_and_adf
If you use the free Oracle sql developer (based on JDeveloper) you could just write a simple query to get data in CSV (not xls) format:
SELECT /*csv*/ * from myTable
See this article by Jeff Smith
http://www.thatjeffsmith.com/archive/2012/05/formatting-query-results-to-csv-in-oracle-sql-developer/

• How to get the output in .xls format instead of .csv.

Dear All,
I have added a exportButton on a table through personlization, when I click on the button it is opening in .csv instead of .xls file .
Please let me know if I can change the format of that to .xls .
Regards
Karan deep.

Hi,
I tried that but I am not able to get the outplut in .xls format .......I think "export all rows" property is used to export all the rows of the particular table "VO attached to it".....I dont think that this property has any control of file format....

• How to export report to xls format ?

hi guys,
i am running apex 3.2.1.00.
I came across this in the documenation
You can download an interactive report back by selecting Download from the Actions menu. Available download formats depend upon your installation and report definition but may include comma-delimited file (CSV) format, Microsoft Excel (XLS) format, Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF), and Microsoft Word Rich Text Format (RTF).
I am able to download only in csv and pdf form. So when do i enable during installation for XLS format ?
Rgds,

hi jarola,
sorry to post a different question here, but i would really seek you attention to this question as i have been finding the solutions for days...
from this thread >> Re: multiple reports in a single report region ?
is it possible to export several reports in a page as a whole ?
e.g
on a page, ii have 5 regions, each region has 1 report.
can i do a export on 1 csv or pdf which contain all the 5 reports together as one ?
or is it possible for me to squeeze 5 report together in 1 region ? so i do a export for the 5 report as a whole at one time ?
thank you so much!

• CSV to XLS

Alright folks.
I'd like to use Labview to convert a csv into an xls spreadsheet file.
I was thinking labview could open the spreadsheet, search for the commas "," and convert them into a "/t".
is there a search function that does this?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

An XLS spreadsheet file has a great deal different in it aside from using tab vs comma for the delimiter. An XLS file is a proprietary Microsoft format that needs to be written from Excel. (Which can be done through LabVIEW) If you simply want to convert a comma separated value text file to a tab delimited text file, that is easy, see attached snippet
Charles Chickering
Architecture is art with rules.
...and the rules are more like guidelines

• Downloading file in xls format

Hi All,
I have a program that downloads data from a server to the local machine in xls format, via a JSP. The data comes from a ResultSet which I read and convert to csv format, but using ";" as the separator (it works..) and "\n" for each new line I require. I then set the response to download the file. Eveything works fine when I run the web application locally, the file downloads and opens in Excel, BUT when I do the same accessing a remote server running on Solaris, I have a problem opening the downloaded xls. Everything works fine until I try to open the file, Excel tells me that it can't read the first record.
Here's my code:
String path = servlet.getServletContext().getRealPath("/");
PrintWriter printWriter = new PrintWriter(new OutputStreamWriter( new FileOutputStream( path+ "upload/excel.csv" )));
String data;
String fileName; // a filename set when I read the data
// read data, put ";" and "\n" where required
printWriter.println(data);
printWriter.close();
response.setContentType("application/binary");
response.setHeader("Content-Disposition","attachment" + ";fileName=\"" + filName + ".xls" + "\"");
RequestDispatcher rd = request.getRequestDispatcher("destination.jsp");
rd.include(request, response);
It works from Windows to Windows, but something's amiss when I try it from Solaris to Windows.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Most probably it has to do with line.separator system property which is different between windows and unix.
I noticed you using a printWriter.
The println method will use the appropriate line separator for the platform it is running on. (from the System properties)
I would try saving the file to disk rather than opening, to see if you can discern the differences.
Also - what does the included jsp do? does it just include the newly created file?
Do you need that file? Could you just stream it straight out to the user?
ie instead of sending it to a FileOutputStream, send it to the ServletOutputStream.
Hope this helps some,
evnafets

I just noticed the exact same thing. It turns out that the httpd-ssl.conf file on my system is still the old v2.2 syntax, which means that the SSLMutex directive is still in there. This is an invalid directive after 2.2.
This is where things get interesting. At first, I simply thought I had forgotten to merge httpd-ssl.conf.pacnew after apache had been upgraded to 2.4. However, when I check my pacman.log, it appears that httpd-ssl.conf was never upgraded when apache went to 2.4 - (2.2.26-1 -> 2.4.7-1). There was never a pacnew file generated to be merged.
I took a look at the apache package via the abs and the "proper" httpd-ssl.conf is certainly in there, so why pacman never created a pacnew file is a mystery.
Anyway, to fix this: pull the httpd-ssl.conf from the apache package, either from your cache, using the abs and building it, or (I think) pacman may re-install it if you move the file to a backup location (not sure about this). Then merge your original httpd-ssl-conf with the new one.

• The report options under "configure" and CSV or xls.

The report options under “configure” does not give .csv or xls as options. Instead of using vi to pass data to database, is there a simple way to transfer all the results (just like the way in the report that automatically generated) to .csv or xls...
Thanks.

Hi,
in order to modify the report generation, you have to understand the way how TestStand works in regard of the report generation.
There is a tutorial which explains this which you can find here. But please note that the tutorial is currently undergoing an improvement process.
The reason that the report options don't give you the option for xls or csv as report is:
Neither xls nor csv are predefined. So for example measurement values in xls can be placed in a special worksheet or included in a main sheet in a certain column.
hope this helps,
Norbert

• Program works but background job for that program fails....

I have a requirement where I have to collect the details of the purchase order and put the details in XML file format and FTP the XML file to an external third party FTP Server.
To realize this I developed a report program which follows following logic.
1) First I collected the PO details by calling the BAPI BAPI_PO_GETDETAIL1.
2) Then using the following link "/people/r.eijpe/blog/2005/11/10/xml-dom-processing-in-abap-part-i--convert-an-abap-table-into-xml-file-using-sap-dom-approach
I converted these PO details to the XML file format that the third party people accept.
In the code I used u201CCALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_downloadu201D and in this process first the XML file is generated and is getting stored on my deskytop.
3)     Then I called HTTP_SCRAMBLE, FTP_CONNECT, FTP_COMMAND , FTP_DISCONNECT and RFC_CONNECTION_CLOSE.
This works perfectly well and each time I execute the report the file is getting FTPu2019ed to the third party FTP server.
Now I tried to schedule a batch job for this and the batch job fails with follwing errors
02/25/2009 15:08:47 Error in Control Framework
Message Class  = FES
Message Number = 022
Message Type   = E
02/25/2009 15:08:47 Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
Message Class  = 00
Message Number = 564
Message Type   = A
Can some one tell me what is going wrong. My report works perfect in front end but fails if I try to schedule a background job for it in SM36.
Can you please tell me whatz going wrong with batch job? Any Help is highly appreciated.

Robert...Thanks for the reply...
I am using follwing code
l_xml_size = l_ostream->get_num_written_raw( ).

EXPORTING
bin_filesize = l_xml_size

filetype     = 'BIN'

• Can ABAP proxy to consume WSDL file be run as background job for every10min

Hi all,
I have a requirement where I need to build an interface which gatheru2019s the purchase order details and send to external third party software in their required format (as an XML file).
So I should be the first point of contact and should trigger the interface each time a purchase order is generated.
So I am thinking that I should develop a background job for every 10 minutes which will look for new purchase orders and gathers the information of the purchase orders and send them to external third party software in their required format.
I have gone through all the SAP forums and e-Learning but still I have confusion in regards to how is it possible technically? Can some one guide me with some information on the same.
I have a little bit of confusion and want to know few things.
1) Should I create a web service or should I consume a web service?
2) If I need to consume a web service, then can I write an ABAP proxy to be run in background fro evry 10 minutes? I mean can we run ABAP proxy as a batch job in the background?
3) Is there a difference between consuming an XML file and WSDL File?
Any Help will be highly appreciated.
Regards,
Jessica.

There are two options (as I know) to generate XML file.
1. Use XML TRANSFORMATION to get the XML string based your TRANSFORMATION. You can input your data and get back the XML string. Download this string to a file
Test XML generation program is:
types: begin of ty_data,
num   type i,
end   of ty_data.
DATA: itab TYPE standard table of ty_Data,
la_data like line of itab,
xmlstr TYPE string.
DO 3 TIMES.
la_data-num = sy-index.
APPEND la_data TO itab.
ENDDO.
CALL TRANSFORMATION ztest_np1
SOURCE table = itab
RESULT XML xmlstr.
CALL FUNCTION 'DISPLAY_XML_STRING'
EXPORTING xml_string = xmlstr.
My ZTEST_NP1 transformation. To create a transformation, click on the transformation in the "CALL TRANSFORMATION ztest_np1" statement. Select Simple transformation type.
<?sap.transform simple?>
<tt:transform xmlns:tt="http://www.sap.com/transformation-templates">
<tt:root name="table"/>
<tt:template>

<tt:loop ref=".table">

<tt:value ref="NUM"/>

</tt:loop>

</tt:template>
</tt:transform>
XML string is like:

1

2

3

To use this option, you have to create a transformation and than use it to generate the XML string.
Check this SAP Help
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/e3/7d4719ca581441b6841f1054ff1326/frameset.htm
2. You can concatenate and create an XML string and download that string into a file.

I have attached the image for the output below. Please find it attached.
Basically, if a date range is 21June to 21 July. The output must be as shown in the image. (I have omitted THIRDCONN etc for the sake of simplicity in my code).
Please let me know how should I go about this problem and let me know if I can answer more questions.

It's not built into the language. Your best bet is probably to put the CSV-Reading logic into its own class.
Or find one of the thousands of classes that already implement such a thing.

• How to force BI Publisher to output header without any record in CSV or XML format?

When the output format is CSV or XML, it seems that Oracle BI publisher does not use the template. When there is no record returned, it only display "ROWSET" in the report. No column names are displayed in the report. If the output format is one of the following: PDF, Excel, HTML, RTF, Excel200, and MHTML, it generates correct header/column names even there is no record.
How could I force BI publisher to do the same when the output format is CSV or XML (data)?
Thanks,
GT

Alex,
I did not say that bip must use template for xml output. What I have said was that bip ignore the template even you have set up a template when the output is in XML or CSV. The reason that I set up a template for XML or CSV output is to test whether I can make it output column names when the SQL query returns no records. It apparently that it did not return any column name. It just returns "ROWSET" text. This is a problem for down-stream process or any other receiving system since the down-stream systems do not know what are the column names in the report.
Did you get what is the issue here and have an answer for it?

• Report output as an attachment in.XLS format via email.

Hi all,
When i run my report in back ground, my alv report output is to be sent as an email attachment in excel (.XLS) format. The issue i am facing is that i have around 40 fields in the output and i need to create a Header line with the Field Description in the Excel file. I am using the FM 'SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1', and passing the report output in to the table CONTENTS_BIN LIKE SOLISTI1 which is of Char 255. but my report output header is exceeding that length.
Kindly suggest me on how to acheive this.
Regards,
Jose

Hi Jose,
As for your first question you may place cl_abap_char_utilities=>horizontal_tab between contetaned fields' values. It will place then a tab mark between each two fields, which will be considered by excel as new column.
Using cl_abap_char_utilities=>newline is also correct. I will probably only result in one extra line at the end as after you append your last line to BIN table, also newline will be placed. cl_abap_char_utilities=>lf on the other hand should be placed in front of each line as this denotes Carriage Return so it simply means: "place the cursor at the beginning of each line just before writing this line".
Regards
Marcin
