Join between fields in the same table

Dear friends,
I would like to solve this task under Northwind - table Employees. I need  to all employees  append name of their boss in the same row.  Maybe, it exists smarter solution, than mine.

           it will not return  any value   when you are using   column of same table 
           such as Date Field   , Because  while Using Aggregate Function  it will not check with self column
    .      For that you have to take data in one internal table and then you can work on it  .
         And if you are worried about Performance  it will not affect  , untill you are selecting only required data  .
    you can try this way  .
    data: cptotchek type i.
    types : begin of  w_aufk.
            include structure aufk  .
          types : end of  w_aufk .
    data : it_aufk type standard table of w_aufk with header line  .
    select * into corresponding fields of table it_aufk

    I want to match fields with the same text1 value bu without duplicates
    I tried this:
    select t1.id, t2.id from dane_testowe t1 left join dane_testowe t2 on t1.text1 = t2.text1 where t1.id <> t2.id;
    but I got 20 rows (should be 10)

  • Upate 2nd date field in the same table.

    This is probably a simple fix, but i can't seem to get it. Any help is greatly appreciated!
    I need to update a field (ACC_DATE2) in the table called (DRIVERS_ACCIDENTS) and insert a formatted (ACC_DATE) field in the format [mm//dd/yyyy]

    Do you want to fill ACC_DATE2 with ACC_DATE of the
    same row?
    If the answer is yes, this would simplify your update
    statement to
    UPDATE DRIVERS_ACCIDENTS
    SET ACC_DATE2 = to_date(ACC_DATE, 'MM/DD/YYYY')
    No it is not true! I suppose that the two columns are of type DATE.
    to_date in this case will return an error. You don't have any need to use the format here. So you could say
    UPDATE DRIVERS_ACCIDENTS
    SET ACC_DATE2 = ACC_DATEYou should use the format when you will consult the column later!

  • Populate a table field based on another field in the same table

        I have a table with fields collection profile and collection prfile text. When maintaining this table, the collection profile name should appear automatically ( from table UDM_COLL_GRPT) based on the collection profile entered.. In UDM_COLL_GRPT, collection profilr name is not a primary key. Please let me know how to do this.

  • Two diffferent type of joins on the same table

    I have a query that, it seems, requires me to two two different types of joins to the same table.
    from table t1
    LEFT OUTER JOIN table2 t2
    ON t1.col1= t2.col1
    and t1.col2 = t2.col2
    and t1.col5 = t2.col5
    LEFT OUTER JOIN table2 t3
    ON t1.col1= t3.col1
    and t1.col2 = t3.col2
    and t1.col4 = t3.col4
    would I run into a problem if I just did:
    LEFT OUTER JOIN table2 t2
    ON t1.col1= t2.col1
    and t1.col2 = t2.col2
    and t1.col3 = t2.col3
    and t1.col4 = t2.col4
    and t1.col5 = t2.col5
    And if I go with option 1 and I also create two different types of indexes to accommodate each join, will 10g know which ones to use?

    No version number and no statement of what it is you are trying to do ... but one solutions is to use the traditional Oracle syntax and the first part, then wraps it in parentheses turning it into an inline view, and then join that to the next part.

  • Alias tables do not show more than 9 fields of the same type in a Command

    Hi there, In Crystal Reports I have a Command to query a database, this works fine and returns what I need,
    but in when you add more than 9 alias's and and then Select more thatn 9 fields of the same type it does not show any more them in the Field Exporler window.
    i.e. I want to add another alias and select casdet_text(10) but it does not show any more than 9.
    Any help woud be apprecitated.

    Hi James,
    It's likely an internal limitation. If you are going to alias all of your fields it's more efficient to use a View or Stored Procedure to handle the renaming server side rather than client side.
    It may even be a connection limit, try using another tool and see if you can add more than 9 aliases.

  • Problem with the sames tables in the same report

    Hi friends,
             I have a report with the same table twice. One with the original name (Company) and the second with alias (Company_A). This report wants to show a "tree" of companies. With code I get a Dataset    and I fill the report with it. This Dataset    have two tables the original and the alias table with one and two rows expletively. The data is correct is what we expect that the report will show but this not occurs. He only see the rows of the original table and if you get more than one row in it he try a Cartesian product and we see invalid results. Can I fill the report with the correct rows to show in the report? Is there any other possibility? To help I put an example:
    Fields of table Company as original table in the report: Company.
    Fields of table Company as alias table (Company_A) in the report: Company and OriginCompany.
    There is a relation between Company and Company_A through the field Company (original alias) and OriginCompany (alias table).
    The dataset    is like this:
    Table Company: one row --> Company1.
    Table Company_A: two rows --> Company1a, Company.
                                                   Company2a, Company.
    Then the report only shows the rows of the original table Company but no trace of the alias table Company_A

    Use two connections not one when you are embedding one result set in another.
    If you are embedding one in the other also consider using a join which is faster and requires less code.

  • Data of column datatype CLOB is moved to other columns of the same table

    I have an issue with the tables having a CLOB datatype field.
    When executing a simple query on a table with a column of type CLOB it returns error [POL-2403] value too large for column.

    Checking deeply, some of the rows have got the data of the CLOB column moved in another column of the table.
    When doing select length(nbc_providercode) the length is bigger than the datatype of the field (varchar(40)).
    When doing substr(nbc_providercode,1,40) to see the content of the field, a portion of the Clob data is retrieved.
    SQL> select max(length(nbc_providercode)) from od_stock_nbcst_notes;
    MAX(LENGTH(NBC_PROVIDERCODE))
    162
    Choosing one random record, this is the stored information.

    The content of the field is part of the content of the field text (datatype CLOB, containts an XML)!!!
    The right content of the field must be 'MTS' (retrieved from Central DB).
    The CLOB is being inserted into the Central DB, not into the Client ODB. Data is synchronized from CDB to ODB and the data is reaching the client in a wrong way.
    The issue can be recreated all the time in the same DB, but between different users the "corrupted" records are different.
    Any idea?

    I have a Problem with Romming Between SSIDs withing the same WLC but with deferent VLAN . the WLC are providing the HQ and one of the Branches the Wireless services .
    Am using all the available 9 SSIDs at the HQ , and am using only 4 of it at the Brnche.
    The problem that i have are happening only at the Branch office as i cant room between the SSIDs within Diferent VLANs but i can do it with the one that pointing to the same VLAN. Once the client ( Laptop/Phone ) connected to one of the SSIDs. it imposiible to have him connected to the other ones with Different VLAN. meanwhile, It says its connected to the other SSID but its not getting IP from that pool.

    Well you need to understand the behavior of h-reap or what it's called now, FlexConnect. In this mode, the clients are still remembers on the WLC until the session timer/idle timer expires. So switching between SSID's in h-reap will not be the same when switching when the AP's are in local mode.
    Take a look at the client when connected in FlexConnect in the WLC GUI monitor tab. Thus will show you what ssid and vlan the client is on. Now switch to a different ssid and compare this. It's probably the same because the client has not timed out. Now go back to the other ssid and look again. Now on the WLC, remove or delete the client and then switch to the other ssid at the same time. Or switch SSID's and then remove the client. The client will join the new ssid and in the monitor tab, you should see the info.
    There is no need to have clients have multiple SSID's unless your testing. Devices should only have one ssid profile configured to eliminate any connectivity issues from the device wanting to switch SSID's.

  • Two LOVs in same UIX page based on the same table

    Hi group,
    Recently I ran into a problem with a UIX page that has two LOVs based on the same database table. In Emp and Job terminology, here's what I tried to do.
    Suppose we have use the Employees and Jobs tables from the HR scheme with one small modification. Add a column called PREFERRED_JOB_ID of type VARCHAR2(10) which is exactly the same as JOB_ID. Hypothetically speaking, this column will be used to allow Employees to select their preferred job in case they want to change their jobs.
    Next, create business components in JDeveloper based on the Employees and Jobs table. In order to be able to generate the LOVs for Job and PreferredJob create two ViewObjects, one called JobsLookupView and one called PreferredJobsLookupView. These both need to be based upon the same Jobs EntityObject. Also include the Jobs EntityObject twice in the EmployeesView ViewObject and give one the alias PreferredJobs. Include the JobTitle attributes of Jobs and PreferredJobs in EmployeesView so they can contain the JobTitles selected in our future LOVs.
    Next create a ViewController project if it's not already there and enable JHeadstart on it. Create an Application Structure File and create the lookups for the two LOVs. When I run the application I see this happening:
    When I click the flashlight icon next to the PreferredJob LOV and select a job, the PreferredJob field is selected in the UIX page but no job title appears. When I next first select the Job LOV and select a new job and then select the PreferredJob LOV again and select a different job, the job that was selected in the Job LOV is now also entered in the PreferredJob field. When I make sure the PreferredJob field isn't required (remove the required="yes" property on the messageLovInput entry for PreferredJobTitle and remove the PreferredJobTitle field from the addRequiredRowItems list in the UIX page) I can save the changes I made in the Employees.uix page. The same JobId is stored in the database for Job and PreferredJob.
    This behaviour is probably due to cacheing issues because both LOVs and the EmployeesView ViewObject use one EntityObject for four values in three ViewObjects.
    So I then modified my model a bit. I created a new EntityObject called PreferredJobs based on the JOBS table. I modified the EmployeesView ViewObject to use this EntityObject for the PreferredJobTitle attribute and modified the PreferredJobsLookupView to use this EntityObject.
    I needed to modify a few things as well in the Application Structure File (which were prompts and whether or not the attribute should be visible in a table) and after regenerating I made sure the PreferredJob attribute isn't required in the UIX page. When I then run the application again, I never see the JobTitle I select in any LOV allthough the PreferredJob field is selected when I select a Job in the PreferredJob LOV. The correct JobId now is stored in the database though.
    Has anyone ever encoutered this behaviour? Would anyone know how to get two LOVs based on the same table in one UIX page?

    OK I figured it out. When I added the second Lookup ViewObject (PreferredJobs) no additional Association was created. Therefore, ADF BC wasn't able to figure out which field to update. When I added the Association between the PreferredJobs Lookup ViewObject and the Employees ViewObject everything started working ok.
    I then recreated my inital situation: one EntityObject for Jobs and one for Employees, now with two Associations between them. After modifying the Employees ViewObject and making sure the Jobs EntityObject was referred twice and via the corresponding Association, everything started working ok.

    i have two results from the same table that i would like to compare. below is my query and the results i want to compare

    now what i am looking for is to combine these two together into one row with the following added.  two columns for each QTY, QTY1 = 1 and QTY2 = 3 with a third column added that is the difference between the two QTY Diff = 2

  • How can I duplicate the same table in 3 pages?

    hi everybody!
    i have a form with a master page (containing the invoice fields) and 3 body pages that reference the master page.
    in each one of these 3 pages there is a table with one header row, 7 body rows and a footer row.
    the table was copied and pasted from page 1 to page 2 and page 3.
    between the body rows there are two rows that are bound with table data, one for invoice details and one for tax details.
    my problem is that in the 2nd and 3rd page in pdf output invoice and tax details are empty, while the other lines are present.
    it seems like there is a table index that loops once in the first page until it reaches the end of the table, so for page 2 and 3 it is already at the end...
    my question is: how can i get the same complete table in three form pages?

    Not sure I follow .....are you asking for Page 2 and 3 to have the same table and values in the table as on Page1 or does each page have unique data?
    Where is the data coming from? Is the user typing it in or is there a separate data source somewhere?

    Ok I am going to kick myself for this, but I can't figure it out. I am trying to figure out how to find employees which match multiple criteria in the same table.

    So using this I would expect to return only SMITH since his/her skills meet all 3 criteria. I dont want to use OR in my query since I want all 3 to match not just one of them.
    I have a feeling I will need to self join the table - but this is going to be part of a dynamic query for APEX where the users can choose the skills and ratings they want employees to adhere to, so I dont know the number of criteria or the exact criteria in advance. But I figure if I can get a proof of concept SQL I can make it work dynamically.
    Any ideas are appreciated - sorry for the long post but I figure more detail is better
