I spent one day and have been trying to join two tables with two columns as a JOIN match... cannot made anything work. I read all the doc and the JDBC RowSet Implementations Tutorial doesn't really help a lot.
Any example will be appreciated.

I have no idea this is what you are trying but look at this.

    I have been told that when coding a Report, there is some way to fill multiple columns of the report at once.
    Instead of
    select
    field1,
    field2....
    You could do
    <????> filling field 1 and 2
    My source was vague as to what kind of thing it would be that could give a value to more than one column at one time.
    Can anyone help me here? Sorry to not have any more specifics.

    You can have placeholder columns and assign the output of your select statement to the place holder columns.

  • Multiple columns from the same dimension table as row labels performing slowly

    (Working with SSAS tabular)
    I'm trying to figure out what the approach should be for the following scenario:
    Lets say we have a Customer table. The table has columns such as account number, department number, name, salesperson, account manager, number of customers, delivery route, etc
    A user of the model could want to see any permutation of that information as the row labels. How should that be handled?
    What we've been doing so far is that the user adds each column they want into the "ROWS" section in Excel. This works fine with smaller tables (for example, "Department" table with a "Department Code" and "Department Name",
    but on large tables this quickly chokes. I understand why this is happening, I just haven't found a better way to accomplish the same thing.
    I can add a calculated column to the model through VS, but obviously this is unsupportable and unscalable when each person needs their own permutations of the data. Can something similar be done in Excel?

    Anyway i've done what you suggested but i get this error:
    [nQSError: 15011]The dimension table source Dimension Services.DM_D_SERVIZI_SRV has an aggregate content specification that specifies the level Product. But the source mapping contains column COD_PRODUCT with a functional dependency association on a more detailed level .
    where:
    - DM_D_SERVIZI_SRV is the physical alias for the Service Dimension (and the name of the LTS too)
    - COD_PRODUCT is the leaf of the hierarchy, the physical primary key, but it hasnt to be included in the hierarchy
    Do i have to add another level with the primary key and hide it to the users?
    I tried to solve this going to the logical tables source properties, on the tab contents, setting "logical level" to null for the hierarchy, but i don't know if this is correct.

  • How to force multiple columns in the Details section

    Hello,
    My report has a lot of data in the Details section, but it could fit on one page if I could put it in three columns. Is there a way to do this?
    The Details section has setting: Force the new page after certain number of visible records. This would be perfect for me if instead of multiple pages I could use multiple columns.

  • Multiple columns (named the same originally) and mapped to the same lookup table are causing a Cube Build issue

    Hey folks, looking for some insight here.
    I've an implementation that contains some custom Enterprise columns mapped to lookup tables.  In the instance I'm working with now, it looks like there was/is an issue with one of those columns.  In this scenario, I have a column named
    ProjectType, created initially with that name, mapped to a lookup table.  This field's name was then changed to
    Project Type.  After that, it looks like another column was created, also called
    ProjectType.  So now, we have what I would have originally thought was two distinct columns, even though the names used are the same.
    Below is the error we're currently getting during the Cube Build Process...

    We tried taking it out of the cubes, and it builds fine.  The challenge we're having is in building the cubes with that custom field "ProjectType".  It's as if the cubes still hold some reference to it even when it's deleted.
    Since the OLAP View ('MSP_EpmProject_OlapView_{guid}') is recreated, would it be as simple as deleting that View, and trying to recreate?

    When you call split, everything from the start to the delimiter is stored in the array. Then delimiter itself is not. So, :

    Of course, this will only work if you know the format of the data, but since you need the format to start with, then you should easily be able to figure it out.

  • Can't change to multiple columns in the middle of a doc?

    Hey guys, I have a long document and I need to add some text to an area in the middle. Part of this needs to be in 3 columns, but the text above and below it in 1 column. When I highlight the text that I need to switch to 3 columns and make the change, the text above and below it changes as well. Thoughts?

    +Menu > Insert > Layout Break+
    Then
    +Inspector > Layout > Layout > Columns > 3+
    Afterwards insert another layout break and change it back to 1 column or whatever.

    I am facing a issue while arrange the page with single and 3 columns in the RTF. I did format like Format tab->columns-> selected number of columns 3.
    The 3 columns data is showing the next page. I did not put any page break in the RTF.

  • Apply a function to multiple columns at the same time?!

    Hi,
    I have a table with many char columns. They have to be transformed to numbers. Right now I use an expression operator where I input all the columns and generated the output columns by typing in every column TO_NUMBER(column_xyz) which is very much work and not straight forward...
    Is there a posibility to apply the TO_NUMBER() function to all the columns in on step? If so how do I do it?
    Transform-Operator and Anydata converter don't support multiple input I already tried...

    You could write a little utility in OMB scripting that would create the expression operator and apply the transformation to all columns..
    For example to set the expression on an output attribute of an expression operator you can use the following snippet;
    OMBALTER MAPPING 'MYMAP' MODIFY ATTRIBUTE 'MYEXP' OF GROUP 'OUTGRP1' OF OPERATOR 'MYEXPR' \
    SET PROPERTIES (EXPRESSION) VALUES ('TO_NUMBER(INGRP1.COLA')

    i need a sql which displays all the data in a single row in such a way that
    1) if col2 month is jan, then the column heading should be "January" and value should be Jan
    2) if col2 month is mar, then the column heading should be "Marchh" and value should be Mar
    3) if col2 month is dec, then the column heading should be "December" and value should be Dec

  • What is the point in having multiple columns in ORDER BY clause?

    DB version:10gR2
    When using ORDER BY clause, the rows are always sorted according to the first column in the ORDER BY clause. So, what is point in having multiple columns in the ORDER BY clause(i always see this in production codes)?
    For the below SQLs' from SCOTT schema, the result sets are always ordered according the first column ename. When i added job asc and job desc, the result set doesn't change.

    wanted to know how to retrieve multiple columns using "returning" in the Insert Query.
    For retrieving one column we write the query as follows:
    Insert into TABLE values(1,2,3,4) returning COLUMN1 into PARAMETER
    But can we retrive multiple columns in the same query?

    You can definetely get multiple values from a single query using the 'returning' clause.
    Eg : insert into emp (empno, ename, job, deptno) values (7324,'ADAM','MARKETING',30) returning ename, deptno into var1, var2; PN : var1 & var2 to be declared as varchar2 & number respectively.

  • Comparison of multiple column values with a single column value

    I have two separate tables say Tab1 and Tab2
    I want to select some datas , which is common to both the tables.
    In tab1 , there is a column 'STATE' and it's value is 'A'
    In tab2, there are multiple columns for the state, say STATE_A,STATE_B, STATE_C ETC and a row is present with the following details
    STATE_A = 1, STATE_B =1 ,STATE_C =0,STATE_D=1
    I need to select STATE when STATE_A ='1',
    if my STATE='B', this STATE has to be selected since STATE_B =' 1', similraly
    if my STATE='D', this STATE has to be selected since STATE_D =' 1',
    If my STATE='C', STATE_C should not get selected since it's '0'.
    Is it possible to do this in a single SELECT statement, where I have some other checks also or else how can I achieve it?

  • Crystal Report multiple columns

    I'm having trouble with Crystal Report's multiple columns in the detail section.
    The details section, the multiple columns is checked then the printing direction is across - down. Since the form I am using is a pre-printed form, by estimation it can only allow at best 30 records in one page, that is 15 in the 1st half of the column and another 15 records on the next. For visual:

    For some reason there is this giant space after the last set of rows before it prints out the page footer. This giant blank section disrupts the layout of the page footer section.
    Here are some info on the details section as configuration is involved:
    Format with  Multiple Columns - checked
    In Paging: New Page after 30 visible Records
    In Layout: Width: 3.5 in       Height: 0.0 in
                     Horizontal: 0.0 in      Vertical: 0.0 in     
    Printing Direction: Across-Down
    Anyone knows how to suppress it or have the page footer move upwards?

    Now why didn't I try that out. Actually, initial plan was 2 subreports.
    So when I added the second subreport in the group footer section, it only prints the details on the last page, which should not be the case as I need to be printed on all pages.
    I'll test it out. I'll post an update soon.
