Journal app that tracks word count?

I'd like an app that is able to track daily word count and graph it over time frames so I can see progress.  I want to write X words per day and would like to track this.
I'd like to group writings as well so it isn't just one long journal and have the ability to track word count per count plus overall (all groups). Does anyone know of an app like this?

Hi,
going further, through the selection, modify this alike:
var
     curDoc = app.activeDocument,
     mySel = app.selection,
     len = mySel.length,
     cStyle = curDoc.characterStyles.item("wordcount"),
     mySelWords, mString, curSel;
if (!cStyle.isValid)
    cStyle = curDoc.characterStyles.add({name: "wordcount", fontStyle: "Bold"});
     while (len-->0) {
          curSel = mySel[len];
          if (curSel.hasOwnProperty ("insertionPoints") ) {
               mySelWords = curSel.texts.everyItem().words.length,
               mString = mySelWords + " Words. ";
               curSel.insertionPoints[0].appliedCharacterStyle = cStyle;
               curSel.insertionPoints[0].contents = mString;
Notice that textFrame.words count is the ones visible only, so overflown part of text is excluded.
If some answers were helpful - mark it (them ), pls ==> this is a good flag for other searchers..., and some points for me.., mlask.

    Obviously you would DL this before it's missing.

    If you never activated the Find My Mac option, the answer is no.

  • Looking for a journaling app that looks like and old fashion journal and alowws dictation and editing

    Looking for a journaling app the allows dictation and editing and would look like and old fashion journal book that I can put in my iBook shelf.

    You won't be able to put an app in iBooks. The only things you can put in iBooks are eBooks and PDFs. As far as narrowing down the list of possible apps, what ones have you looked at already when you searched the app store?

  • I need help finding an iPhone app that tracks spending.

    Does anyone know of a good app that SIMPLY tracks spending? All I want to do is put in the amount I spent on something, and have it show me a graph/chart that shows were my money is going. I DO NOT want to put in a "monthly budget", or enter an account balance. I just want to put in something like "$xx on gas.." and at the end of the month look at it and see that i have spent $xxx total on gas. Simple, right? I cant seem to find an app that does JUST this.
    PS. a free app would be prefered
    Thanks!

    Google is your friend... the first two hits are YouTube videos showing you how to use it.
    Skip a snack and buy it for $0.99.  If it works, you're ahead.  If not, you're even.

  • GPS app that  tracks walk through city over dif days showing all tracks

    Hello, can someone help me finding an GPS app that allows me to track my walks through SanFrancisco.
    My plan is to walk/bike the entire city over the course of a few months
    I would like to be able look at all my previous walks at the same time on one map. Do i need an app that saves to gpx and and then somehow overlay them all at the same time on my macbook?
    I would also like to see the previous walks on the iphone so i dont repeat an area that I have walked.
    Any app suggestions? thanks

    check out cyclemeter by Abrivio. Its $5 I think but pretty cool. You can set it up for walking, biking, driving, and a few other types of activities. It tracks distance, average speed, elevation, calories used. You can export to google maps, then save it to your maps if you have a google account. Also saves as gpx attachment or url, kml, csv formats. It does a lot more, like voice updates about your workout if you are wearing earphones, but I dont use it regularly, just for dinkin around

  • Looking for Journal app that syncs with desktop journal app

    Hello,
    I need a solution that allows me to keep a journal at both my desktop, laptop, or ipad.... and keeps them all in sync.
    Have you found anything like that?
    So far I've found a few that allow you to export... but no syncing.
    Thanks

    I could only find Chronicle for iPad and MaxJournal for ipad.
    Both export, but neither allow dual-entry with sync. You'd be foreced to copy/paste the text. Not hard to do, but an added pain.
    You may want to email both vendors and ask them if they have anything in work that will allow this syncing with a PC. It'd probably have to sync via itunes, so you'd need to connect the ipad to the pc each time to sync, unless there was a wireless capability programmed in by the vendor.
    THe copy/paste may be faster than a sync.....

  • HT1975 How can I reset the gray location services icon that apears next to the app that used my location services in the past 24 hours? Or better yet is there a way to track how many times it's been doing it in the past 24 hours?

    My boyfriend likes to check up on me by using find my iPhone app. Sometimes I feel he goes overboard and would like to know how often he is watching me. The gray icon is always there because he watches me every day, but if there is a way to reset it do that I can check it time after time and see if he watched me again since the last time I checked. Or is there a way or an app that tracks how many times a devise has been tracked? I don't want to change my password because I like knowing that if I get lost in the woods he would find me :)) I just want to know his often he is watching me.

    Understood.  However, the point that I'm trying to make is that it's not the WiFi access point's security that's in question, it's having your phone's WiFi in an always-on mode that's in question.  It's simple: if your phone's WiFi is on, then it is both discoverable and hackable... even when it's not connected to a WiFi network or access point.  Here's an article about a drone in London that was created to hack smartphone WiFi signals (and hackers have been doing what this drone does for years):
    http://money.cnn.com/2014/03/20/technology/security/drone-phone/
    The point is that it's not  secure to have your phone's WiFi in an always-on mode.  It would be better for privacy and security if Apple made WiFi location aware so that it is only enabled when you are at a trusted location (e.g. your home or office).  Or, at least give us the option of location aware WiFi so that each user can determine the best mode for their phone:
    (1) Always-On (current default - not secure and many privacy issues).
    (2) Trusted mode (only on at trusted locations).
    (3) Off.

  • Does anyone know why the word count in Word for Mac changes so drastically? In one document it goes up and down by several hundred at a time when I have done nothing but scroll through the document.

    I am new to the wonderful world of Mac and all of my documents were created in MS Word on my old laptop. I noticed that the word counts were slightly different when I opened the documents in Word for Mac, but then I noticed that they changed drastically. For intance, I opened a document today and after the initial period where the word count shifts, it seemed to settle on 13,171. I left the document for a while to work on some other things and when I came back the word count had changed to 11,677. I didn't do anything to the document. Word counts are important to me since I need at least 60,000 for my PhD Dissertation. Which word count should I trust?

    Since Word is a Microsoft product, you should probably post your question on the Microsoft Mac forums:

  • Is there an app that will show your GPS history?

    Are there any Mac apps that will show your iPhone's GPS history?  I've tried iPhone Tracker but it crashes when loading.

    Use an app that tracks your GPS movement and pull the data points accordingly.
    That app would be...?

  • Want to find a fitness GPS app that will allow you to receive and send messages and calls while running the app

    I love my blackberry 8900 and have found some cool fitness gps apps that track my distance, etc.  The problem I have is I can't figure out how to access incoming messages or how to send a text message while keeping the app active.  There are pause buttons on the ones I've used, but if I try to get out of the app screen it will log me off the workout completely.  Now granted, I don't do a lot of texting during my workouts (cycling) but still - would be nice to be able to pause it and maybe send something liek "home in a few mins " then continue on with the same workout.

    I figured it out - I programmed my left side button to go straight to my IM program.  I can send and receive messages and go back to my workout without stopping it

  • I purchased some music from the store on my iphone, but itunes won't load those tracks into my library!  It comes up with error 36 (the disk could not be read or written to) but I am able to get apps that I have purchased.  What's up with that??

    I have 4 tracks that I purchased from the itunes store, 2 audio and 2 music videos.  I used my iphone to make the purchase.  Unfortunately, when I got home and tried to transfer them to my itunes library, it tells me that the disk can't be read frrom or written to.  This it totally bogus as I am able to download apps that I purchased at the same time as the music.
    How do I fix this problem without having to totally rebuild the library yet again?

    I'm guessing this is a problem unique to me as there have been no replies at all...  Thanks a bunch folks

  • I am trying to find an app that will track the usage on my iphone with times and dates to see what was accessed on my phone when I was away from it and what if anything was done eg deleted messages viewed facebook etc?

    Hi! I am trying to find an app that with track everything that is done on my phone with times and dates? im not really woried about call usage and texts sent I need it to view what has been done - for example:
    Messages received
    Messages deleted
    Facebook viewed
    Messages viewed
    Internet viewed and what?
    I just have an issue with someone using my phone - I used to track this through double clicking the home button and roughly knowing in what order I had been on things but they have sussed this one!
    Thank you!!

    No way to do that on a non-jailbroken iPhone. Why don't you just passcode protect your phone? That way no one but you can use it...unless they know your passcode.

  • Is there an app that can track your network activity?

    My daughter's iPhone has starting chewing up data like water. (iPhone 5) Here are the symptoms:
    --data useage has gone from 2-3 gigs/month to 20+ gigs, .8gb/day
    --the battery will sometimes lose 40% of its power overnight and even 20% in an hour when she isn't using it, and it will get very hot
    She has tried changing various settings in her apps to cut down on useage of the cell network.  (She is in L.A. and is on AT&T where coverate is spotty.)  She discovered that she was downloading the entire Spotify catalogue so turned that feature off but it didn't help.  We think somethine else is trying to upload or download in the background but can't figure out what it is without systematically disabling every app one at a time.  So short of that, is there an app that would help us track down this problem?  I called AT&T and they weren't any help, just wanted to upgrade me to a higher plan.

    another symptom--after doing nothing but some light texting, she sent 30 mb of data in an hour.  That strikes me as being way out of line.

    We are looking for an app that allows our business to track where our company issued IPhone4S's are at all times.  Any ideas?

    Requires each device/user have an unique Apple ID(verifiable email address):
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/find-my-friends/id466122094?mt=8
    Otherwise you can use Find My Phone, but requires logging in for each separate user. Find My Friends(built by Apple) will show everyone's location on one device.
