  • Ps cs6 i can open photos in the same folder into layers panel, but how do you open photos from seperate folders into layer panel

what is the method of taking a single photo from 3 different folders and have them all open in the layers panel

Let get the term right.  Photoshop has a Layers Palette.  The Layers palette show the layers in the current active document your working on in Photoshop.  If you have more the one open document they will be in a Tabbed View or Floating Image Windows or Minimized.  The list of open documents is in Photoshop menu Windows at the bottom.  You can also open more then one image into a single document as a stack of layers and also place, paste and copy in image into a document  into a new layer.   The layers Palette shows the layers in the current document  the one your actively working on. The layers  changes as you  work on layers and the whole palette changes when you switch between open documents.

  • What is the easiest way to convert a jpeg into a watermark with CC 2014?

What is the easiest way to convert a jpeg into a watermark with CC 2014?
I signed a paper and uploaded the image to the computer as a jpeg to be turned into a watermark.  I'd done it before for a different kind of photography, but have not done it in so long that I cannot remember the steps nor can I find the tutorial video I had watched that taught me how to do it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Adding to what others have said, if you want to repeat the watermark across the image, it's relatively easy:
As JJ said, you want to create an image with a transparent background. You can even use his script. Once you've done all that, click Image > Trim with the "transparent pixels" option and leave all the "trim away" options checked.
Click Edit > Define Pattern to name the pattern.
Open the image you want to apply the watermark to. Create a new blank layer. (ON EDIT: Select the blank layer.)
Click Edit > Fill and use the Pattern option under Contents. Choose the pattern you made earlier. Click OK.
At this point, you can leave it as is or use blending modes and layer opacity to taste. Example:

  • [Photoshop CC 2014] Click&hold-move-release doesn't work when adding adjustment layer from the layer panel

When selecting a menu item I used to click the left mouse button and hold it down, move the pointer to the desired menu item and release the mouse button. Everything works fine in the mine menu, but there's a problem when adding new adjustment layer from the layer panel: when I release the button nothing happens, I have to press the button again. In previous PS version it worked fine. How can I fix this?

I don't think that is user fixable, meaning you'll have to wait till adobe fixes it with an update.

  • Creating an art which is not visible on 'Layer' panel.

    Hi all,
Is it possible to create an art which is present on the document but not on the 'Layer' panel(F7)?
My requirement is to create an art which is visible on the document, but could not be seen on the Layer panel and user is not able to select it.
Just like it happens in case of reflection, when we are creating a copy of selected art object, the reflected copy doesn't present on the 'Layer' panel but it is visible on the document and user is not able to select the reflected one, while he can only select the original art.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks..

If you want something that is rendered, but not in the layers panel, the only way to do that (that I know of) would be through a Live Effect. Live Effect lets you create art that is drawn, but not part of the art tree. The caveat is that it has to be tied to a piece of artwork that *is* on the artboard. I think you could apply it to the layer group for a layer, but every time anything on the layer changed it would trigger your live effect execution, so make sure its not hard to render!

  • In Elements 12 why can't I suddenly not reposition layers without using the layer panel?

In Elements 12 I have always been able to drag photos from the bin onto a background and easily move them or alter them simply by clicking on those photo/slayers while working on the same background without using the layer panel.  A couple days ago I suddenly have to show the layer panel and click on that particular layer in the panel before I am able to move, alter, or delete a particular layer. Also, every time I open a new image or blank file to use as a background, I am suddenly working with a locked background which I don't want, and the directions to un-lock don't seem to work, if that has something to do with it.  I didn't change any settings that I know of.

For editing purposes, the thrust of the program is to work in layers, and to do that it is necessary to have the layers palette in view so that the appropriate layer can be made the active layer.
The background layer is locked by default. You can probably drag the padlock to the trash can, or, do your work on a duplicate layer which will come in unlocked.
Try dragging photos from the layers palette to the work area, not up from the photobin to the work area.
Also, go to Edit>Preferences>General and be sure that "Allow Floating Documents in Full Edit Mode" is checked.

Both Photoshop and Bridge open as usual. But when I open an image, the image does not show in the image area. The image filename does show in a tab and the layers show in the layer panel. What is going on and how do I fix this.

I resolved the problem. It was somehow related to my using Microsoft

went away. Thank you for the suggestions.

Do you have OS X and OS 9 installed on your Mac? If so, startup with the Option key depressed. This will open the Startup Manager window. Select the OS you want to start from & click the right arrow.

  • Option-drag selection not working in CS6 layer panel

Thought I'd force myself to use CS6 on a new project. I want to select multiple objects using "Option-drag", in the Layer Panel, but it doesn't work as it does in CS5.
Is there a different shortcut for selecting multiple contiguous objects using the Layer Panel, in CS6? Of course, I mean "Select" not "highlight".
    Thanks.

Ok so it has been omitted in CS 6 and I think the reason is is because of the change to the Layers panel function.
That is because you can now rename and object directky with the Layers Panel rather than use the Layer Options.
Whether this wa intentional or by accident I do not know but that is why I think it has been changed.
I would make a feature request to either return it to Option Drag or Or Option Click to select a contigous selection of objects.
I notice that many people use names for their paths on even modest ai files so I would think being able to name the objects and layers are a really important feature but so is the feature you referring to though I think Click-Option Click would be even better on rellly large complex Illustrations.

  • Adding objects into query Panel and no display report

    Hi Folks,
I had an issue with WEBI .
Iam running the report with few objects at first time , all objects are displayed in the  table format of report.
I saved and closed the report .
Later  i opened the report and edited the report by adding new objects into query panel and runing it.
but this time  i did not find the new objects in display table in report as like DeskI.
If we find the solution for this , it will be great help to me.
    Thanks
    Mahesh

The objects will be in the data tab. Objects are not automatically added to your report in Webi, they are made available in the data panel, and you can choose which objects to add.

  • Can't import jpegs into drop zones in 7.0 themes

I've followed the thread regarding mac book pros and hang ups with iDVD 08 and the 7.0 themes. I have a G5 and can't get the 'Revolution' 7.0 them on main menu to allow me to 'drop' a jpeg into its drop zone. I drag the jpeg over, the green sign appears like its going to allow it to be dropped, it drops but the zone remains black like nothing is there. When I go to the info tree for the drop zones, its shows up like it is there, but on the main menu it remains empty. Any one with any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any info.

    Roger,
What happens if you click on the Drop Zone button and drag the image there?
This frequently helps solve some problems. Quit iDVD. Search for the file named com.apple.iDVD.plist and trash it. (A new one will be created next launch of iDVD.) Or look in: User/Library/Preferences. This may solve project loading errors too. Restart and use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions.
You'll need to reset some Preferences.
