Jquery UI effect for onload event

I'm trying to create a fade in effect on a rollover image using the jquery appear/fade effect.  It works successfully with the default "onClick" event, but I'd like the rollover image to appear (fade in) gradually over time as the browser window opens/loads.  How can I achieve this? This link is to a very generic sample I've created to test the behaviour.  I'm using DW CS6.  Thanks.

Rather than using the depricated Spry framework, use jQuery.
Albeit being a slightly different purpose, have a look at what Nancy is suggesting http://alt-web.com/DEMOS/fading-logo-redirect.shtml for an idea.

  • How to set a default start and/or end date for New Events based on trigger date.

    I'm using the CalendarActivityListener to get current row when clicking on an existing event. As per previous posts this listener gives you access to event detail including Start Date, End Date, etc.
    However, what I want to do is to default the start (and end) dates for New Events based on the trigger date.
    I've tried the CalendarListener and can grab the Trigger Date from it - however, I can't see a way to pass this directly to the popup/dialog I'm using to create the new event.
    At present I'm putting the TriggerDate into the ADFContext session scope e.g. ADFContext.getCurrent().getSessionScope().put("TriggerDate",calendarEvent.getTriggerDate());
    Then, I've tried multiple approaches to try and "get" the TriggerDate from session scope to drop it into my new Calendar Event basically, I'm trying to default the InputField(s) associated with the Start Date using the value from the session - I've tried
    1. setting the default value for the InputField in the jspx using a binding expression i.e. value="#{sessionScope.TriggerDate}" - this actually sets the value appropriately when the jspx is rendered but, when I go to create I get a NPE and I can't debug. I assumed that it might be a Date type issue - it would appear that CalendarListener provides a date of type java.util.Date and that the StartDate attribute of my VO/EO/table is a DATE and therefore requires oracle.jbo.domain.Date so I tried casting it - to no effect
    2. Using a Groovy expression *(StartDate==null?adf.context.sessionScope.TriggerDate:StartDate)* in my calendar's EventVO to default the Start Date to the same result
    Any thoughts or ideas?

    John,
    Thanks for that suggestion - could not get it to work. However, I did manage a different approach. I finally determined the sequence of events in terms of how the various events and listeners fire (I think).
    Basically, the CalendarActivityListener fires, followed by the listener associated with the Calendar object's Create facet, followed finally by the CalendarEventListener - the final is where the TriggerEvent is available and then finally, control is passed to the popup/dialog in the Create facet. So, my approach of trying to set/get the TriggerDate in the user's HTTP session was doomed to failure because it was being get before it had been set :(
    Anyway, I ended up adding a bit of code to the CalendarEvent listener - it grabs the current BindingContext, navigates through the DCBindingContainer to derive an Iterator for the ViewObject which drives the calendar and then grabs the currently active row. I then do a few tests to make sure we're working with a "new" row because I don't want to alter start & end dates associated with an existing calendar entry and then I define the Start and End dates to be the Trigger Date.
    Works just fine. Snippet from the listener follows
    BindingContext bindingContext = BindingContext.getCurrent();+
    *if ( bindingContext != null )    {*+
    DCBindingContainer dcBindings = (DCBindingContainer) bindingContext.getCurrentBindingsEntry();+
    DCIteratorBinding iterator = dcBindings.findIteratorBinding("EventsView1Iterator");+
    Row currentRow = iterator.getCurrentRow();+
    if ( currentRow.getAttribute("StartDate") == null)+
    currentRow.setAttribute("StartDate", calendarEvent.getTriggerDate());+
    if (currentRow.getAttribute("EndDate")==null)+
    currentRow.setAttribute("EndDate", calendarEvent.getTriggerDate());+
    *}*

  • Listen for an events for Swing objects in a separate class?

    Hi all, sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum but since this is a problem I am having with a Swing based project I thought i'd come here for help. Essentially i have nested panels in separate classes for the sake of clarity and to follow the ideas of OO based development. I have JPanels that have buttons and other components that will trigger events. I wish for these events to effect other panels, in the Hierachy of my program:
    MainFrame(MainPanel(LeftPanel, RightPanel, CanvasPanel))
    Sorry I couldnt indent to show the hierarchy. Here LeftPanel, RightPanel and CanvasPanel are objects that are created in the MainPanel. For example i want an event to trigger a method in another class e.g. LeftPanel has a button that will call a method in CanvasPanel. I have tried creating an EventListner in the MainPanel that would determine the source and then send off a method to the relevant class, but the only listeners that respond are the ones relevant to the components of class. Can I have events that will be listened to over the complete scope of the program? or is there another way to have a component that can call a method in the class that as an object, it has been created in.
    Just as an example LeftPanel has a component to select the paint tool (its a simple drawing program) that will change a color attribute in the CanvasPanel object. Of course I realize i could have one massive Class with everything declared in it, but I'd rather learn if it is possible to do it this way!
    Thanks in advance for any help you can offer

  • Onload event after all images are loaded in an updateContent area

    Hi Spry Folks!
    I load a template into a page with a lot of img tags inside
    it. Everything works fine.
    Spry.Utils.updateContent (...HTML wit lots of img tags...)
    But the loading takes a while so I would like to hide it
    until all the images are loaded. Now I need an event which fires
    after the loading bar in the browser is gone.
    The onPostLoad observer fires much to early, cause the code
    is long loaded bevore all the images
    (...addObserver({onPostLoad:...)
    Same with the window.onload event (...window.onload =
    showContent();...) fires much to early.
    The only thing which is working is placeing the function in
    the onload event of the body tag.
    Like:
    <body onload="showContent();">
    But there I can't use it. And there is now body.onload
    handler as far as I know there is only the windows.onload handler
    and I thought always this is the same event than onload in the body
    tag.
    Has anyone an idea? Is there a spry event I haven't found for
    exact this problem?
    Thanks for your help!

    Hello,
    U might want to look in to the SpryImageLoader.js that comes
    with the 1.6.1 download. It loads your images, and allows u put
    callbacks on them, and set priority of loading them.
    http://www.dbooth.net/photos/
    uses it to (expect don forgot to upload the
    SpryImageLoader.js thats why its not really working :P )
    But that will give the basic idea of how to use it.
    Spry.Utils.ImageLoader.(url, callback(needs to be a function
    or null), priority)

  • Using onLoad event in jsp?

    Hi,
    i have created a link in my controller class dynamically and i want this link to load into my iView without clicking on Link control.
    That is , when the user clicks on the page having my iView he should see the contents of the link. For eg . an HTML report.
    How shall i accomplish this?
    i used onLoad event in the <body> but it  is not working.
    Thanks
    Saurabh

    Hi Saurabh,
    Try this:
    <head>
    <script language="javascript">
    function openwin(){
       var newWin = window.open("the real url", ....); // params and stuff
    window.onLoad = openwin();
    </script>
    </head>
    <body onLoad="openwin()">
    </body>
    </html>

    Not sure what you mean by a CDATA section. But here is the XSLT file showing the template for the root element. The script is included using a <script> element, inserted in the <head> element. Should it be some place else?

  • Custom L&F with Shadow effect for Menus & Tooltips

    Hai friends !
    I want to design a custom look and feel with shadow effect for menus
    and tooltips. Pls help me....
    I tried following but..
    i) Extended abstract border....
    ii)Extends ColorUIResource to support "alpha"
    iii)setOpaque(false) in installUI() method
    Event hough I used transperent color for border the underlying color of
    component is displaying at the corners.

    I don't think there's anything you can do with the Tooltips, because the only methods I see that have to do with the tooltips are setTooltipText and getTooltipText..
    But, you can do transparent borders, and here's some code that shows you how to do it. This doesn't do exactly what you want, but you should be able to get there.
    import javax.swing.*;
    import javax.swing.border.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    public class BorderTest extends JFrame {
       JPanel panel;
       JButton buttona;
       JButton buttonb;
       public BorderTest () {
          super("BorderTest");
          panel    = new JPanel();
          buttona  = new JButton("TransBorder");
          buttonb  = new JButton("NonTransBorder");
          getContentPane().add(panel);
          panel.setLayout(new GridLayout(0, 2));
          panel.add(buttona);
          panel.add(buttonb);
          panel.setBackground(Color.red);
          // these two buttons are both blue, but the one with the transparent
          // border ends up looking somewhat purple.
          buttona.setBorder(new TransBorder());
          buttonb.setBorder(new TransBorder(Color.blue));
          setDefaultCloseOperation(EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
          setBounds(0, 0, 300, 300);
       private class TransBorder extends AbstractBorder {
          Color transColor;
          public TransBorder() {
             super();
             transColor  = new Color(0, 0, 255, 100);  // transparent blue
          public TransBorder(Color c) {
             super();
             transColor  = c;
          public Insets getBorderInsets(Component c) {
             return new Insets(3, 3, 3, 3);
          public Insets getBorderInsets(Component c, Insets i) {
             return getBorderInsets(c);
          public void paintBorder(Component c, Graphics g, int x, int y, int w, int h) {
             g.setColor(transColor);
             g.fillRect(x, y, w, h);
       public static void main(String[] args) {
          BorderTest bt  = new BorderTest();
          bt.setVisible(true);
    }Hope this helps.

  • OnLoad event on Body tag locked by template

    I have a behavior that needs to be called with an OnLoad event. The page I need it on is attached to a template, so the Body tag is not available for editing. What are my options? Thanks!

    If you are using DW>4 (that's DW4, not DWCS4), then investigate using Template Editable Attributes.
    Alternatively you could use some custom javascript in the editable region of the head of the page or even below the </html> tag to create an onload event, e.g.,
    <script type="text/javascript">window.onload=whatever();</script>

  • Urgent: onload event in HTMLB

    Hi,
    I am not able to find out what is the name of the event when HTMLB form control gets loaded.
    I am doing some mathematical operations on form load event.
    i.e.In HTML we write <body onLoad "abc()">
    where abc() is a java script function.
    Could anyone please tell me how I can achieve the same in HTMLB?
    I am using HTMLB tagLibs
    The sample format of my code is as follows
    <%@ taglib uri="tagLib" prefix="hbj" %>
    class="src.api.CreateDDSBean" />
    <hbj:content id="createDDSContext" >
      <hbj:page title="createDDSPage">

           //some jsp code with htmlb taglibs
       </hbj:form>
      </hbj:page>
    </hbj:content>
    From where I can get the information regarding various trigger events for various controls?
    Thanks
    Parag

    Hi,
    And to make it more easier to update you could do something like this:
    <script language="JavaScript">
    // alert box
    function abc(){
      alert('this is function abc');
    // set window status
    function xyz() {
      window.status = "this is xyz function";
    // functions for onload
    function myonload() {
      abc();
      xyz();
    window.onload=myonload;
    </script>

  • Why does calendar assume the time in an event subject,is the time you want for the event?

    If I try to enter any number with a colon, Calendar assumes, that's the time for the event.  Not sure why this change was made.  I need to enter a time in the subject line, and a different time for the event to happen.  Old version allowed this with no problem.  What do I need to do in Mavericks to allow this.???
    Many thanks in advance for any solutions.
    Ned C:

    Hi,
    I have a small application called Multi Event Filter available on the Mac App Store which creates Calendar events from text or spreadsheets.  While not really what it was designed to do, a side effect of Multi Effect Filter is that it retains the times entered for events in the titles.
    You can find more ablout Multi Event Filter here.

  • Can you make a Keyword Collection for entire event library?

    Hello all,
    So you make an event, and you can make Keyword Collections for that particular event, such as "WS" or "Person 1" or "Indoors"... But...
    What if those keywords apply to other events?
    I am making video content for a particular company. I shoot stuff one day import as an event. The only content that I produce is for this company, so you can imagine there are going to be similar themes across mutable events...
    As you know this is how it is organized >
    DRIVE
    >2012
    >Event
          >Keyword Collection
    This is how I want to get organized>
    DRIVE
    Master Keyword Collection
    >2012
    >Event
         >Keyword Collection

    DRIVE
    "All Interior Shots"
    >2012
      > Event
         >Interior Shots
    So can you make a Keyword Collection for entire event library?
    Can some one please explain if is this is possible? If not please update!

    Andy,
    Yes you can but that feature only works if you are searching a single event (Pretty Cool/Useful), Creating a smart collection based on what you tick off in the dialogue box... You will get an error message if Searching the drive itself:
    LOL
    I did some playing around...
    I created a new event
    Then I ran a search, with Keywords ticked off, Ticking off mutable Keyword Collections.
    Then dragged the results into my new event.
    This in effect created "saved search results" but Final Cut started copying clips to that event folder that was created on my external HD. I was hoping that It would generate alias files...
    I also...
    Created a new project
    Ran the Search with Keywords
    Dragged all clips into the project..
    This also in effect created  "saved search results" but not really what I was hoping :/

    i want a component checking himself for a proper condition...
    in case it will require too much hardware resourses what would you suggest?

    Do you ever get to a point in programming where you think that perhaps i have choosen the wrong hobby to get infatuated about
    That code worked really well targetplanet but it had a side effect that just makes me nutts lol
      as it triggered a mouse event function in the component that was initialized in Main and just made my web site go nuts . the component that we initialized was a skin but its itemRenderer component that followed had the mouse event! perhaps i better start again with me learning perhaps i missed something
    or perhaps i should just have one component to one job instead of trying to be clever and mutitask with less components!

  • Multiple OnLoad Events Syntax

    What is the correct syntax for having multiple items attached
    to the <body
    onload=""> event? Do I separate items with a comma, a
    semicolon, or is
    there a different way?

    Thanks, but that seems a little too difficult for what I
    need. The solution
    below ended up working for me.
    <body onload="action 1; action 2">

  • Text Effects for iMovie

    I am looking for some plug-in text effects for iMovie 08, I could settle for iMovie HD 6 or Final Cut Express. Specifically I am looking text bubbles or comic bubbles.
    Can anyone help me in my search?
    Thanks
    Gene

    I am looking for some plug-in text effects for iMovie 08
    iMovie '08 does not currently have a "plug-in" architecture compatible with plug-ins.
    I could settle for iMovie HD 6 or Final Cut Express.
    iMovie HD v6.0.4 is available as a free download to iLife '08 owners.
    Specifically I am looking text bubbles or comic bubbles.
    Such effects are easily created with most graphic applications and can be applied from within iMovie '08.
