JRE classpath not pointing to System classpath

I would like to know if there is any way to configure the JRE classpath to make it point to the System classpath. I am executing an applet that tries to load a class stored in the file system, whose path (C:\Pruebas\ClassLoader\classes) has been previously added to the System classpath.
Of course, when JRE loads the applet and tries to look for the class, a ClassNotFoundException is launched. This is the classpath returned back by JRE when retrieving java.class.path property : D:\ARCHIV~1\Java\JRE16~1.0\classes ..... completely different from the System classpath: %AXIS_1_2_1_CLASSPATH%;%JRE_HOME%;C:\Pruebas\ClassLoader\classes.
If I store the requested class into D:\Archivos de programa\Java\jre1.6.0\classes then the applet launched through JRE founds the class without any inconvenience ... but, of course, neither me nor the clients want to store it there.
Here follows the piece of code that loads the class and calls a testing method.
ClassLoader loader = ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader();
Class clase = loader.loadClass("ImpresionSab");
Constructor constructor = clase.getConstructor( new Class[] {} );
Object impresionSab = constructor.newInstance( new Object[] {} );
Method metodo = clase.getMethod("decirHola", null);
Object respuesta = metodo.invoke(impresionSab, null);
if (respuesta instanceof String) {
System.out.println("Respuesta: " + (String)respuesta);
Any help would be much appreciated.

There is no problem at all with URLClassLoader, of course ... and YES is the response: I have heard about it, and even used.
Stupid questions, and mine was due to my ignorance -nowadays I know why JRE classpath differs from the System classpath- are supposed to be posted here in order to be answered properly ... I mean with kindness and clarifying a reasonable doubt.
It would have help too much, and I am responsible of such confussion, to say that the applet was not mine and can not be changed at all, so this kind of tricky was needed ... but a polite response would have been much appreciated, even if it had not solved my problem.
However, small divinities should keep appart from human doubts, and should not humiliate themselves answering such stupidities ... because that was not only my case, but also the case of some other users in the forum. The aliases translation of this goodness clarifies itself its behave.
Quo usque tandem abutere, Catilina, patientia nostra?
But, more important, for users of JRE 1.4.2, the right syntax will be something like
javaplugin.jre.params=-Djava.class.path\=C\:\\Pruebas\\ClassLoader\\classes
Rgds.

  • CLASSPATH not getting picked up for MWA

    Hi All,
    Oracle Database 11g R 11.1.0.7.0
    Oracle Applications R 12.1.1
    O/S:Linux
    CLASSPATH not getting picked up for MWA.My classes are lying under $JAVA_TOP/xyz. However my suspicion is that the jvm that deals with MWA is not looking at the classpath above.
    I checked the CLASSPATH from forms using the block $ENVIRONMENT$ and it is looking at:
    /<instance_name>/<instance_name>/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/j2ee/OC4J_BI_Forms/applications/formsapp/formsweb/WEB-INF/lib/frmsrv.jar:/<instance_name>/<instance_name>/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/jlib/repository.jar:/<instance_name>/<instance_name>/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/jlib/ldapjclnt10.jar:/<instance_name>/<instance_name>/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/jlib/debugger.jar:/<instance_name>/<instance_name>/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/jlib/ewt3.jar:/<instance_name>/<instance_name>/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/jlib/share.jar:/<instance_name>/<instance_name>/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/jlib/utj.jar:/<instance_name>/<instance_name>/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/jlib/zrclient.jar:/<instance_name>/<instance_name>/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/reports/jlib/rwrun.jar:/<instance_name>/<instance_name>/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/forms/java/frmwebutil.jar
    This clearly does not have $JAVA_TOP/xyz under it.
    Could anyone please let us know what needs to be done and where the classes need to be placed?
    Thanks for your time!

    Hi,
    Did the above steps but still CLASPATH is somehow not getting picked up for MWA.

  • System classpath deployment ideas?

    Our product consists of an API and 4 management web applications. We want to restrict
    the API provider classes to one instance per vm. Thanks to the classloading improvements
    in wls 8.1, we can package the provider code in APP-INF/lib and share one instance
    between all 4 of our web applications.
    However, ideally we want the provider code shared as a singleton, available to
    all EAR files on the server (which may contain code written to the API). The
    only way we can figure out how to accomplish this is to put the provider by hand
    in the system classpath for each deployment.
    Our customers want a clean deployment solution across multiple managed servers.
    Does BEA offer a loader between the system loader and all the ear loaders? Would
    any developers have ideas on how we could automate deployment into the system
    classpath?

    Status of deployment is slightly different from "every class within your EAR
    is reachable". Deployment status is "did this deployment action finish", at
    which point classloaders are inited and some class resolution has taken
    place i.e. can the j2ee container load the EJB that is specified in the
    descriptor, but not all classes have been loaded. With java's lazy class
    load initialiation classes are loaded at request time.
    So now to your real problem. Why do you put these interfaces in the system
    classpath? (My guess is you want to share them across multiple archives?).
    Currently J2EE doesn't have a way to share a single library between multiple
    archives. We are looking at solutions to this for our next release. But
    until then, you will have to put these interfaces inot a myEBJInterfaces.jar
    and put it in each EAR at EAR/APP-INF/lib.
    Cheers

    I'm using wls 8.1. I have an EAR in which several EJB interfaces areloaded from
    the system classpath. After redeployment, these EJB's are not available.
    java.rmi.NoSuchObjectException: Bean is already undeployed
    I would have expected not to be able to affect any change in such EJBs viaredeployment,
    but that redeployment would be successful. The console shows thatredeployment
    for these EJBs is successful (i.e., status: active). So, do these classeshave
    to be off the classpath for redeployment to work properly? Why doesn'tthe console
    report their status correctly? Thanks...

  • Error Configuration File bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath

    I am new to JDeveloper and ADF, and am suffering through the steep learning curve. This story may prove useful to someone, someday.
    I just finished resolving a “bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath” error and it added another level of understanding to how things are glued together.
    There is a back story. I had made a first pass at creating a test application. When I was done I started “enhancing” the application. One of the changes was to add a column to a view in the database. Try as I might I could not get that change propagated to the business component. This is still on my to-figure-out list. In frustration I dropped the model and recreated it from the database tables and views. Testing it with the “AppModule” in the model project I could see the view with the new column. However, when I went to run one of my old jspx pages, I now got the dreaded “bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath” – and this was for a page that was not using my updated view. As the military expression goes, “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot”.
    It is now working again, and here is what I found.
    I noticed in the error message that it could not find “/cloudapp1/common/bc4j.xcfg”. When I searched for the file I found it in /cloudapp1/model/common/bc4j.xcfg. I went to the project properties for the model project and on the “Project Source Paths” node I saw at the bottom of the page Default Package: cloudapp1.model. Ah Ha! That is where the /cloudapp1/model structure came from. Then I remembered that the first time through I had changed the default package to just cloudapp1. Part of my experimenting with the product. When I quickly rebuilt the model project I did not do that.
    Next I found the DataBindings.cpx that one note alluded to. It is in the ViewController project. There I found an “OC4JDataControl” section. In there was and entry Package=”cloudapp1”. This was the original package name. When I rebuilt the model, this was not updated. Anyway, I changed it to Package=”cloudapp1.model”. [ Insight:  When you first build an app it can make some good guesses about what is needed, but when you start adding and dropping projects it is much harder to guess how they are glued together.]
    Raising a cup of coffee in triumph I re-ran the test page.
    Dang! Still a bc4j.xcfg not found in the classpath – but this time the path mentioned matched the path where I knew the file to be.
    I am nothing if not stubborn. I knew the problem just had to be in the ViewController project, because the AppModule in the model project worked. So, I started going through all of the project properties. I finally came across something called “Dependencies” that had big ugly red circles with an x in them. Ah ha. This is what tells the ViewController what other projects (like the business model project) this ViewController is dependent on. Although the editing process it not obvious I eventually pointed it to the new model project. [Deepening insight.]
    When I re-ran the test page it worked! Coffee finished. Story with a happy ending.
    Summary:
    1.     Make sure the package name in the ViewController DataBindings.cpx matches the one in your model project.
    2.     Make sure the ViewController Dependencies entry points to the model project.

    Thought I'd add a little bit more to this post I found helpful.
    I'm creating an application which uses other application ViewController projects deployed as library .jar files. If your .jar ViewController project deployment profiles don't have your Model project as a dependency, you will get the .bc4j error as well.
    This can be confusing when the ViewController pages function correctly when run within their own application context, but somehow lose their bc4j when deployed as a .jar.
    Hope that helps someone down the road.

  • Help needed regarding change of system CLASSPATH

    Hi All,
    I need to change the system CLASSPATH using my java programe. I tried the following code but its not working though it returns the correct CLASSPATH, but unable to do the modification. All I need is to append a new jar file in the existing CLASSPATH..

    Hi Kaj ,
    Well I am in a situation where we need to extend a
    existing system and we are providing the client with
    a new jar file for every modification. Now all I need
    is that our programe automatically add (infect
    append) the jar file in the existing system
    CLASSPATH, so that the client need not to add(append)
    the new jar files all the time.
    Can you provide any help??As others have said, use -cp as argument when you start your application. It's quite common that people write a script that adds all jars in a certain directory to the argument to -cp.

  • (Help) system classpath  -Vs-  the place where weblogic looks for classes

    The following is my app's hierarchy.
    myapp
    |
    |__myjsp.jsp
    |
    |__WEB-INF
    |
    |__classes
    |_ MyClass.class
    I am not able to use MyClass within myjsp.jsp
    i.e. a scriplet like that shown below gives an error stating that MyClass isnt found
    <% MyClass obj; %>
    I've tried setting the system classpath, but to no avail.
    Is there a difference between the system classpath and the place where weblogic looks for classes?
    (I am running my app by creating a myapp.war file and placing it in autodeploy folder)

    Try moving your class to a named package and use the appropriate import statement in your JSP. Loading it from WEB-INF/classes/packagename should be fine so you might want to remove the other classpath mods you made to eliminate that uncertainty.
    Here's a snippet from http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/dmndhelp/v6rxmx/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.websphere.nd.doc/info/ae/ae/rweb_jsp_migration.html:
    "As of JSP 2.0, referring to any classes from the unnamed or default package is not allowed. This can result in a translation error on some containers, specifically those that run in a JDK 1.4 or greater environment which will also break compatibility with some older JSP applications. However, as of JDK 1.4, importing classes from the unnamed package is not valid. See Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition Version 1.4.2 Compatibility with Previous Releases for details. Therefore, for forwards compatibility, applications must not rely on the unnamed package. This restriction also applies for all other cases where classes are referenced, such as when specifying the class name for a tag in a Tag Library Descriptor (TLD) file."

    I have viewed the j2ee.jar contents to make sure javax.servlet directory is there.
    Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?
    Much thanks,

  • Modify vm system-classpath befor launch JWS

    We are deloy a Swing Thick-Client with WebStart. The problem is that we are using 3rd party jars who have to be set to the system classpath. The modification of the classpath in our jnpl-file with <property name="java.class.path" value="foo:\3rdpartyjars.jar"/> is no the solution. The application lauch only if the vm was started with a classpath. java -classpath foo:\3rdpartyjars.jar MainClass.
    The second problem is that the 3rd party jars are signed with a own certificate. How can we use this jars with our signed jars in webstart?
    To add our certificate to the 3rd party jars is no solution.
    Thanks for help

    I just ran into this problem with WebLogic's SP12 jar for 5.10. I found a note hidden away on the developer FAQ. Basically, you just specify the jar as an extension in an additional .jnlp file. I have a main jnlp and an additional one called weblogic.jnlp:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <jnlp spec="1.0+" codebase="http://caldtes05818:8001/" href="weblogic.jnlp">
    <information>
         <title>WebLogic Helper</title>
    <vendor>BEA</vendor>
    </information>
    <resources>
    <jar href="lib/weblogic510sp12.jar"/>
    </resources>
    <component-desc/>
    </jnlp>
    and in the main .jnlp, I reference this rather than the jar. Here is what I put (in addition to all my other jars):
    <resources>
    <extension name="WebLogic" href="weblogic.jnlp"/>
    </resources>
    Hope this helps!

  • Class loaded from  system classpath

    When I kick off my WebLogic Server 8.1 SP2 startWebLogic.sh I get the following:
    <Warning> <EJB-010001> <While deploying EJB 'blah, blah, blah', class yadda.yadda.yadda was loaded from the system classpath. As a result, this class cannot be reloaded while the server is running. To prevent this behavior in the future, make sure the class is not located in the server classpath.>
    How do I do this? I need to be able to make changes to code, compile it and "drop" it into my application directory without having to stop and restart my server.
    I would appreciate any assistance.
    Thank you.
    Steve

    Hi Steve,
    When you start weblogic server it has the EJB home, remote or bean class in its classpath. So when you deploy the bean it loads the classes from the system classpath.
    To avoid this error, make sure that your server classpath does not contain any of the bean classes.

    While debugging this error, we found that we are able to successfully run the JUNIT tests if we make some changes in the adf-config.xml file of the Application. The change required is to comment out the mdsC:adf-mds-config tag in the xml file.
    After doing this change Im also able to run my AM without any exception.
    Is this a known issue?.
    Since modifying the adf-config.xml is not a recommended practice is there any workaround that we can get rid of this exception.
    Regards,
    Ajin.

    Just checked but could only find this thread Unable to run ADFBC JUNIT Test Classes with JDEV11G 11.1.1.6
    As it's also dealing with junit and 11.1.1.6.0 you might want to read it.

  • Configuration file bc4j.xcfg not found in the classpath.

    When i try to run an application that uses ADF BC i get an error telling me the bc4j.xcfg was not found.
    When i open my AppModule and click the bc4j.xcfg link it opens. When i look at the path it stored in, it is different from the path the error says.
    It's something like this:
    Configuration file /be/something/model/common/bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath
    but my appModule opens the bc4j.xcfg in a different folder:
    /be/something/utility/common/bc4j.xcfg
    It's a fact i modified the project and managed the packages a bit but i always used the refactor menu of jdeveloper in order to move or rename files.
    It appears that something has failed while moving/changing name.
    I looked inside my project to look for references for bc4j.xcfg but i can't find any so i can't see were to change the directory he needs to look for the bc4j file.
    How do i fix my project?

    John,
    In the DataBindings.cpx i can't find any reference to a datacontrol...
    This is my bindings:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>

        <dtfactory className="oracle.adf.controller.internal.dtrt.binding.BindingDTObjectFactory"/>
      </definitionFactories>

    </Application>In the datacontrol section when i right click the DC the "edit definition" is grayed out. Probably because the DC comes from the library and is not created in the application.

  • Services/common/bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath

    Hi Everyone,
    i have got one ADF application which has developed in Jdev 11G release 2.
    i have tried to run in my Jdev(Jdev 11G release1 11.1.1.5.0).
    it gave some errors regarding imports so i imported those missing jar files and application got comipled succesfully.
    When i run the application it shows me below error:
    <Utils> <buildFacesMessage> ADF: Adding the following JSF error message: Configuration file /com/sinter/gme/abc/services/common/bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath.
    oracle.jbo.ConfigException: JBO-33001: Configuration file /com/sinter/gme/abc/services/common/bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath.
    when i check that path in my project its there till "/com/sinter/gme/abc/services" and "/common/bc4j.xcfg" is not there.
    the same appliaction is running fine in server after deploying. but i need to change some things and redeploy it but it is not running as expected.
    Please help me to get out of this.
    Any suggestions.
    Thanks.

    Add Model to ViewController as dependency(right click Model--> Dependencies-->use custom setting), add dependency with "Edit dependencies".

    Hi Everyone,

    I have developed one ADF application and was working very fine.
    But the Jdev got crashed so i re-installed the same version but the application which was running earlier is not working now. I tried by installing different versions of Jdevelopers but none seems worked for me.
    Error is given below:
    <Utils> <buildFacesMessage> ADF: Adding the following JSF error message: Configuration file /model/common/bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath.
    oracle.jbo.ConfigException: JBO-33001: Configuration file /model/common/bc4j.xcfg is not found in the classpath.
    at oracle.jbo.client.Configuration.loadFromClassPath(Configuration.java:471)

    What is this error about?
    How can i solve this error t make my application to run?
    Please give ur valuable suggestions...
