JRE support for JIS2004 (aka JIS0213?)

Do any of the releases of the JRE support JIS2004? If not, are there any plans for such support. I am most interested in JDK1.5, but any version would be fine. Apparently this standard (otherwise known as JIS0213, I think), is important to Japanese users of Windows Vista. I couldn't find any useful information on the Sun site regarding this question, so I apologize if I missed some obvious source of information on this question.
Thank you.

So if my remote objects extend UnicastRemoteObject
and use the exportObject(this,x) to export themselves
to port xHold it. If you extend UnicastRemoteObject you don't have to call exportObject, it is called for you on construction.
, do they effectively bypass the registry,
since the ports used for each are known to both
sides, and the remote Stubs can be placed in reach of
both?No. You can think of the Registry as a bootstrap which gives you the initial stub. After you have one stub to your system it can return stubs for further objects itself. (Actually it is LocateRegistry.getRegistry() which is the true bootstrap, but leave that.) Classically:
public interface Login extends Remote
  /** login, suppliying whatever credentials are required */
    Session login(String userid, String password) throws RemoteException;
public interface Session extends Remote
  // further application methods here
}so a client can only get access to your application via a successful login. Thereafter the client may have its own unique SessionImpl object to communicate with, which can hold state on behalf of the client. If you have no session state, the SessionImpl can be a singleton, with preferably a better name, maybe in your case Warehouse.

  • No faces tag support for Flickr (aka faces don't = keyword)

    Though iPhoto keywords have been always passed along fine to Flickr (using FlickrExport plugin in the past) the Faces info is not passed along as Flickr tags (keywords, however, are passed along as tags). What good does this do me once I've gone through all the facial recognition steps and want to share this insight with my Flickr following? Am I missing something?

    Terence Devlin wrote:
    I wouldn’t think either of these things.
    Why wouldn't you think that? I have to agree w/ Reuben, especially since this is the default behavior for iPhoto 09's built in export to Facebook! It mimics the native FB photo/face tagging verbatim. . .
    Screenshot of a photo I exported (after being facially recognized) from iPhoto '09 after being imported into FB:
    http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll78/elvisinvegas/Picture1-1.jpg
    So yes, I think it's bordering on absurd that iPhoto faces don't produce Flickr tags from faces(or at least give us that option) or do the mouse-over-note capability that Reuben was referring to. . .especially since it can and does for Facebook.

  • JRE Plugin support for DST

    Is it true that full support for DST will not be out until the 1.4.2_14 version of the plugin? I've heard that the DST date is still set at 4/1/2007 and not to 3/11/2007 in the _11, _12 and _13 releases. Any clarity on this would be appreciated.

    A quick search of the java.sun.com site (for "DST") would have given you the answer:
    Solutions for Java Applications
    If you are concerned about application failures that may result from these DST changes, you should update your Java Runtime Environment. The following Java platform versions have correct time rules to handle the DST changes that will affect U.S. time zones in 2007. You can download any of the following Java platform versions to resolve this DST issue:
    * Java SE 6 or later
    * J2SE 5.0 Update 6 or later
    * J2SE 1.4.2_11 or later
    * J2SE 1.3.1_18 or later
    For version 1.4 or later, you can also use a tool to modify the time zone data within your existing JRE. Get the "tzupdater" tool from the Java SE download page.
    P.S. This also includes recent changes in the Western Australia time zone.

  • Queries on Mac OS X support for Java 1.3

    Hi All
    I am having some trouble figuring out how to make Swing based Applets
    work on Mac OS X. Can anybody help me ?
    Queries on Mac OS X support for Java 1.3
    1) Will a Java Applet compiled using Java 1.3 run on "Mac OS X" without the need for a Plugin.? This includes Applets using Swing since we compiled using 1.3.
    2) I tried to run some Java 1.3 applets compiled using 1.3.1-04.
    Unfortunately, the Applets wouldn't run.
    Is there some setting in Mac OS X that i need to change or modify for the Applet to work ?
    3) When i open a Terminal in Mac OS X and type Java -version, i get
    "------ Java 1.3---------".
    This implies that Mac OS X supports the Java 1.3 SDK. Does it imply that it supports the runtime as well since this is usually the case ?.
    If it supports the runtime, then does this inculde support for Swing.
    Finally, as i enquired in '(1)' does this mean that i do not need any plugin(MRJ) to make Swing based applets work.
    Thanks and regards

  • JRE Version for 2.2

    One of my customers is having the below problem - resolution would be greatly appreciated.
    Their problem lies in the fact that static versioning was broken ("by design") for Java 5 update 6. They absolutely need to load specific JRE's in the object tag, and cannot use dynamic versioning. Now that update 7 has been released, they need some guidance on how to use the Family ClassID to only launch the latest version of a particular family (i.e. latest 1.3 on the machine vs. the latest 1.5 on the machine). They opened a service case via the internet and were given Case # 10863037 and Order # 4390785700. No one has been able to help them as the numbers are not Radiance Case numbers. Here is a quote from the customer:
    Our problem lies in the fact that static versioning was broken ("by design") for Java 5 update 6 and later. We absolutely need to load specific JRE's in the object tag, we cannot use dynamic versioning. We need to support existing software from a year ago that was written in 1.3.1_15 AND our latest software which is at 1.5.0_06.

    Please refer to the following family clsid document for details.

    Family clsid support for JRE 1.3.1 family version will be available in the upcoming JRE 5.0 and 6 update releases.

  • Support for TLSv1.1

    Hello,
    Because "TLSv1.1" is listed as a SSLContext Algorithm (https://cis.med.ucalgary.ca/http/java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/guides/security/StandardNames.html#SSLContext)
    i have been trying to specify it in my code as shown below:
    SSLContext sc = SSLContext.getInstance("TLSv1.1");
    sc.init(kmFact.getKeyManagers(), tmFact.getTrustManagers(), null);
    But i get the following instead:
    java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException: TLSv1.1 SSLContext not available
         at sun.security.jca.GetInstance.getInstance(Unknown Source)
         at javax.net.ssl.SSLContext.getInstance(Unknown Source)
    I am using JDK1.6.0_4. Does it support TLSv1.1? Or do I find another provider (if there is one)?
    Thanks

    I am sorry.... in fact i was reading the wrong doc.... here is the one from java6 spec
    The JSSE API is capable of supporting SSL versions 2.0 and 3.0 and Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.0. These security protocols encapsulate a normal bidirectional stream socket and the JSSE API adds transparent support for authentication, encryption, and integrity protection. The JSSE implementation shipped with Sun's JRE supports SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0. It does not implement SSL 2.0.
    Link
    nevertheless TLS1.1 is not implemented by java1.6 as well....
    thanks ejp... for the correction....

  • PKCS#11 support for x64 Windows

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to discover the truth (aren't we all?) Can anyone confirm what the current (and future) support for PKCS#11 for x64 Windows system is? Looking around, it appears I might be out of luck, but I'm hoping more of you might have discovered stuff I haven't?
    I understand that there ARE definately providers for other platforms (which kinda defeats the platform independancy of Java doesn't it?) but I
    'm not running other platforms (well apart from x86 Windows which is fine).
    Thanks in advance,
    Tim.

    I have the same problem. The problem with the AMD 64 bit Windows downloads (both JRE and JDK) is that the file j2pkcs11.dll is missing from the build. It is present in other releases but not this one. Does anyone know where this file can be obtained?

  • ALERT - Support for Java Critical Patch Update

    ALERT - Support for Java Critical Patch Update
    On October 15th, Java released a critical patch update (CPU) which will require download and upgrade to the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) release – 1.7.0_45.   If upgrading the JRE to this release, the P6 module (also known as Web Access) of the P6 EPPM product line and the Contract Management product, which utilize LiveConnect applets in the browser, will start generating one or more prompts.   To remediate these prompts for the P6 EPPM Web Access module and the Contract Management product, Oracle Primavera will be releasing fixpacks.   Until fixpacks become available, you can use the following workaround to suppress these prompts:  Select the 'Allow' Prompt or 'Yes' prompt for successful loading of applets.  Note: This prompt will occur for each applet.
    For more information, please refer to the following KM Documents in My Oracle Support.
    For P6 (Web Access), refer to KM Document ID 1591925.1
    For Contract Management, refer to KM Document ID 1592535.1

    I found the answer to my own question. For any newbies out there, if you create an account with Oracle, that is not enough to download patches. You have to have an Oracle Customer Support Identifier associated with your account. Once you have a CSI that you obtain through your employer who has paid for support or through some other means, you then can go into My Oracle Support and enter a request to be added to the given CSI. That request goes into a pending state until the administrator of the CSI grants you privileges to download patches. (NOTE: You might have to bug someone within your organization to get this to happen.) For me, once I was given the privilege, the link worked as it should.

  • Toplink support for Java 5.0

    I tried to import java classes, compiled with jdk 5.0
    into Toplink workbench. The mapping fails.
    I tried to run the workbench with jre 5.0 but that didn't work either.
    Does anyone know how to do it and does Toplink even have a version that supports java 5.0?

    Anna,
    TopLink 10.1.3 will offer formal support for Java 5.0. Currently the runtime should work fine with Java 5.0. The only issue may be the workbench mapping process depending on the version of TopLink you are using.
    If you are using the 10.1.3 preview the workbench will still run with JDK 1.4 but should be compatible with importing and mapping classes compiled with JDK5. We will upgrade the JRE used by the workbench to JDK5 for the production release but this should not make any difference to your ability to map JDK 1.4 or 5 classes and use either at runtime.
    If you are using 9.0.4.X then the workbench will not be able to run or import JDK5 compiled classes. I believe the runtime is fine but not certified. For this environment you will need to compile the classes under JDK 1.4 and map this version of the classes. You can then use JDK5 compiled version in conjunction with the runtime.
    I hope this helps,
    Doug

    Does the IE CS6 version have Support for the Middle Eastern tool set? - left to right typing etc.

    I assume IE means International English, as opposed to English North America (aka US English). There is Middle Eastern and Hebrew support via an English user interface for programs that support it such as InDesign.
    You can change the install language by launching the Adobe Application Manager and clicking on your name in the top left to bring up a context menu. From the menu select Preferences and then click the drop down for Languages. See the screen shot below:

  • Lack of support for Canon G7 and G9. Alternatives?

    I am really disappointed about the lack of support for the Canon G9, and looking at the list of compatible cameras (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306835) I notice that Canon G7 - even if it does not have a RAW format, is not supported either.
    I am thinking that the purchase of the G9 may have been premature and that I may need to sell it and get another cam that is supported by Apple/Aperture.
    What would you guys do? Is there a cam out there similar to the G9 at the moment that has a Apple-supported RAW format?
    Best regards,
    Kjell Are Refsvik

    I think the camera closest to the G9 that has RAW support from Apple are the Panasonic DMC-LX2/Leica D-Lux 3 twins. Don't know where you are, but in the US, the Panasonic costs about $400. 10MP, 28-112mm (35mm equivalent) Leica lens, very compact body, and RAW output. The Leica costs $599, and has that classic look.
    I don't know much about that cameras, but you may want to investigate.

  • Why no SyncML-support for Harmattan??

    I've used SyncML on my N95 with memotoo.com for years. Worked very well. I took it for granted that SyncML would be supported on the N9. But alas, it isn't. I find that really incomprehensible. Worse yet, CalDAV syncing with memotoo doesn't work - I don't know who's to blame for this, but on the desktop it works flawelessly so I do have a suspicion. Even worse: there is no way to sync contacts using CardDAV.
    MeeGo (the true MeeGo) has SyncML-support out-of-the-box. And the N9/N950 does have SyncML-support for bluetooth.
    Yes, contacts syncing is supported for Ovi. And Google. And Facebook. But I do NOT want to use those services, because of grave privacy risks and because they use yet again some proprietary protocols.
    I wonder, what where they thinking at Nokia for NOT supporting some well-known open standards??
    (While I'm ranting: why is there ^%@$ Facebook and GTalk-support over XMPP, but no self-defined XMPP account?? Yes, you can add such accounts from the terminal, using mc-tool, but really that's just a kick in the teeth. And where's UPnP/DLNA-support?)

    Hey Guys, Did you figure out any way to do PIM sync via SyncML on N9?
    I am struggling to get things moving as I come from N8.
    N9 just doesnt have any way to sync calendar, tasks with Ovi. Same with Notes.
    Best Regards,
    Suyog

  • ISE 1.2.1 support for Yosemite?

    Hello all, just curious. I see in the release notes for ISE 1.2.X that support for Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite) was available via patch 12 on the ISE1.2.0 train of code. That said, I see nothing in the release notes stating any support for Yosemite for any of the patches for ISE1.2.1, the latest being patch 3 released 1 week after ISE 1.2.0 patch 12. Can anyone please advise if Yosemite is in fact supported on 1.2.1 with patch 3??
    Thank you very much in advance for your help
    Jeff

    Jeff,
    OS X 10.10 is supported in ISE 1.2 p11, 1.2.1 p2 and 1.3.
    Patch 12 for 1.2 and Patch 3 for 1.2.1 fix other issues for OS X 10.10, and I recommend updating to the latest patches for these fixes.
    Here is the entry in the Release Notes detailing the fix for 10.10 in 1.2 p 12:
    MacOsXAgent versrion 4.9.5.3 should be used and MacOsXSPWizard 1.0.0.30
    Note that the description for these files denote ISE 1.2 Patch 11/12, ISE 1.3 release and above.  ISE 1.2.1 is not mentioned, but follows the bug fix/release schedule for 1.2, with an adjustment.
    1.2 patch 10 = 1.2.1 patch 1
