  • Multiple jre versions using same cache location

    Hi,
    i searched the web but couldnt find an answer.
    I have a Terminal Server deployment with various installed jre Versions (1.6x and 1.7x) on the same Server as well as on different Server Silo Setups.
    But for all Servers i configured the Cache Location to H:\Java-Cache (Homefolder of the user) in the deployment.properties file.
    1. are there any Problems to expect when using the same Cache Folder for many different jre Versions (jre 6/7/8) ? Any knows issues about that ?
    2. is it supported to share the same cache Location (for example D:\java-cache) for many users ? i cannot find ony official KB or Oracle Note about this.
    There are a few Blog Article out there which describe to configure the Cache Location on a terminal Server to a local location like D:\java-cache shared by
    many users. Does it depent on the Java webstart application if tha works well ?
    Thanks a lot,
    Marcus

    Hi Tyler,
    In my opinion, you could go ahead with first option - have multiple JRE's and maintain the environment variables accordingly.
    This should not be a problem as the envrionment variable would take care of which JRE is used. Also as you have only another ABAP system on the same server, the other older JRE would only be required during the SAPInst operations. Non-existence of a Java system makes things simpler here

  • SOA Suite 11.1.1.6.0  Error - Please specify a valid JRE JDK location

    I am very new to Oracle installations and I cannot get past the " Please specify a valid JRE/JDK location :" message when installing the SOA Suite.
    I verified that all my prerequisites are in place.
    No matter what path I enter, it ignores it and repeats the message. I made sure to install JRE in a directory path with no spaces. I have tried installing jre-7u9-windows-i586 and also jre-7u9-windows-x64. I also tried pointing the location to the jdk160_29/jre/bin directory created by the SOA installation (again, no spaces in my path). Nothing seems to work.
    I am following the Quick Start Guide version 1.2 from August 2011 http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/overview/quickstartguidesoasuite11gr1ps4-459545.pdf. I also looked at various postings and blogs.

  • Problem selecting the right jre version with jnlp

    I am using Webstart 1.4.2.
    When instaling, it correctly found 2 jre versions on my system, 1.4.1_03 and 1.4.2.
    Because our application currently is not working with 1.4.2 I need to force webstart to use 1.4.1_03.
    I tried to set the tag <j2se version="1.4.1_03"
    When loading from the websever I get a "Error Code 11 (11 Could not locate requested version) "...same if I explicitly set to 1.4.2.
    I suspect that webstart is checking the "platform version" which are set for both to 1.4 and not the "product version" (see java preferences in webstart).
    Does somebody know if there is another jnlp tag I can use to force a specific version? or any other workaround.
    In my opinion this is a bug webstart should check the product version
    Thanks Marc

    had the same problem...
    ad the url and try again:
    <resources>
    <j2se version="1.4.1_03" href="http://java.sun.com/products/autodl/j2se"/>
    <jar href="...
    as far as I now are not all JRE's available for autodownload.
    Good luck!

    Hello,

    Hi,
    I don't know if you got an answer to this problem. It looks like you need to install Borland Service Pack 1 (for BES 6.5) to fix this issue. I spent a couple of days squirming, trying to figure out this issue.
    Hope this helps.

  • Agent Download files, JRE version

    It seems the packages staged on my OEM host are using an old version of JRE, even 10.2.0.4.0. After pushing the agent to a Siebel gateway windows host, we are seeing the agent hold on to a critical Siebel file, siebns.dat. The application needs to alter this file from time to time but can't, several hours after a reboot. The OEM agent has been shutdown on the enterprise hosts. Siebel 8 is certified for JRE version 1.5 or higher. An SR has been opened on the Siebel side of Oracle so I'm expecting them to tell me to talk to the DB side of the house.
    What is the easiest way to update the JRE on my Windows host? No other versions of Java are installed on the host where the problem lives.
    C:\OracleHomes\agent10g\jdk\bin>java -version
    java version "1.4.2_14"

    Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.4.2_14-b05, mixed mode)
    Thanks

  • I have been getting java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: ZeroApplet.class and java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: JavaToJS.class crashes with JRE version 1.6.0_26-b03-384-10M3425 VM executing a Java Applet. Is Apple aware of this problem? No longer supported?

    My web page uses a Java Applet to allow my visitors to replay chess games; the Chess Viewer Deluxe applet was written by Nikolai Pilafov some time ago and has been working properly for some time (until recently). I don't monitor this part of my site regularly so I am not sure when it began to fail. On his web site [http://chesstuff.blogspot.com/2008/11/chess-viewer-deluxe.html] he has a link to check LiveConnect object functionality (which fails for OBJECT tags). His recommendation is to "seek platform specific support which might be available from the JRE developers for your platform".
    I have been getting java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: ZeroApplet.class and java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: JavaToJS.class crashes with JRE version 1.6.0_26-b03-384-10M3425 VM executing a Java Applet. Until I checked the LiveConnect object functionality, I was unable to identify the source of the console error messages. This does seem to be the smoking gun.
    Is Apple aware of this problem? Are these classes no longer supported? Has anyone else had this problem? You can attempt to recreate the problem locally by going to my web page: http://donsmallidge.com/DonSmallidgeChess.html
    Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

  • No jre version found in launch file

    I'm using jdk1.5.0_03 (with all other versions of java removed from my system) and trying to run our web start app that specifies a version of 1.4.2*. After clicking the link to the jnlp file, web start contacts sun to retrieve 1.4.2*, then gives the dialog: "unable to launch FlowJo" (our app). On the details tab, it reports: "No JRE version found in launch file for this system".
    When I launch the web start manager, under the user applications tab, I see 3 applications: our app, our installer, and Sun's j2re1.4.2_07 installer. It seems like Sun's installer is being downloaded but never executed.
    Am I doing something wrong in my jnlp files? Both our app jnlp and our installer jnlp specify a j2se version of 1.4.2*. Below are the files and exception as reported from the web start dialog. I'm trying to set our app up for internal testing with web start, so I'm using a local ip. Our application uses a custom installer which has its own jnlp file (shown below in "launch file").
    Any help is much appreciated,
    Peter

  • No JRE version found in launch file for this system

    Hi,
    I have an application which is launched by JWS.
    When we use JWS from 1.4, it runs fine. But JWS from 1.5.0_15 gives the error "No JRE version found in launch file for this system"
    In both the JWS(1.4 and 1.5.0_15)cases, we install JRE1.5.0_15 using the installer and used for invoking the application.
    We invoke mailclient.jnlp, which inturn invokes the installer.jnlp and KanaJreInstaller.asp

    We are using sun JRE(1.5.0_15) only. We extract Sun JRE and build it as KANAJRE.jar and signing.>I have never heard of KANAJRE. Would you care to post a link to the site, or should we just keep guessing? (My patience for random guesses is running out.)

    We install using Intaller class and that is getting listed in the Java Control panel and enabled too.>List as what?
    Does it list it with the entire string "KANA1.5.0_15" or is is just listed as "1.5.0_15"?
    Because this line from the JNLP file..
    <j2se version="KANA1.5.0_15" href="KanaJreInstaller.asp"/>..had me convinved it was a non-Sun JRE. Not so much the href, but most especially the version attribute.
    If it really is the Sun JRE, I would expect this to work.
    <j2se version="1.5.0_15" href="KanaJreInstaller.asp"/>And as an aside. If this installer is giving you trouble and the app. requires the 1.5.0_15 JRE, why not simply the default Sun JRE installer? What advantages do you think this installer offers?

  • Using tag OBJECT on a machine with multiple jre versions

    Dear friends,
    i guess that this question has been already answered, but i can't find the thread with all infos i need.
    So please excuse me if i'm redundant.
    This is my problem:
    i have a web application that runs an applet, embedded in an html page;
    by now the applet is loaded with the standard tag <APPLET>.
    I found many Sun's official pages talking about the use of OBJECT tag to specify the jre version that is supposed to run the applet.
    I tried many ways but i can't reach the way to avoid loading the applet with the latest jre installed on my pc.
    Here is the code of my OBJECT:
    <OBJECT NAME="client" CLASSID="clsid:CAFEEFAC-0014-0002-0009-ABCDEFFEDCBB" HEIGHT="38" WIDTH="335" >
                          <PARAM NAME="NAME" VALUE="client">
                          <PARAM name="type" value="application/x-java-applet;jpi-version=1.4.2_09">
                             <PARAM NAME="CODE" VALUE="it.fabio.client">
                             <PARAM NAME="CODEBASE" VALUE="/myapp">
                             <PARAM NAME="ARCHIVE" VALUE="mylib.jar">
                   </OBJECT>The machines where the application is deployed have the 1.4.2_09 and the 1.5.0_03 jre versions, but my applet runs only on 1.4.2_09 version.
    So i have to find a way to tell the browser which jre has to be called.
    Thanks in advance for help.
    Regards

    Wait a second...there is more to that error message that I overlooked before.
    There might be something other than just the way I set the CODE and CODEBASE parameters wrong here
    Any ideas?

    Hi Leah,
    Have you tried double clicking?
    If this doesn't solve the issue, you might want to try using a different version of the browser and disable the pop up blocker on your browser.
    Please try this out and let me know.

  • Java is blocked. Don't know why. Error: Application Blocked Java Plug-In 10.51.2.13 using JRE version 1.7.0_51-b13 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM

    I keep receiving this message when trying to use http://www.exodus-chats.org/DolTerias . it uses a java based chat system, and won't allow me to open the application. I've tried checking through my options menus, but I've found no reason as to why this can be blocked. The only thing I've come up with is my plug ins, but it doesn't allow me to change anything to allow the app to be used.
