JRun Server Error
Hi ,
I am getting the jrun server error with the message
” The server encountered an internal error and was
unable to complete your request. Application server is busy. Either
there are too many concurrent requests or the server still is
starting up.”
I am confused what causes this type of errors.
Has anyone faced this kind of error? What is the reason for
such kind of errors?
The OS is”sunsolaris” and the web server used is
the “Apache “and coldfusion application server is
CFMX6.1.
Thanks in advance..
Anbu
Thanks for the reply..
I get the error offent... when i refresh the page again and
again then it is working fine.
There is a script written to check the jrun server if the
server is hanged or not able to process the request then it
automatically restart the jrun server.
regards
Anbu

My question is : Do I have to change jrun server security setting and How?
Thanks for any help!
ygdevCF6, Java 1.4.2 and Windows NT - have not seen those for a long time myself.
Perhaps this is the issue from error report:
PSPermGen total 20736K, used 20580K
object space 20736K, 99% used
I guess Java non heap space Permanent Generation is full the next object trying to load into that space can’t fit, plus all the objects in there are referenced so no objects can be removed so free space can’t be made available. One would need to do some work with Java logging and know what JVM.CONFIG looks like to know if that guess is accurate.
You could try increase that parameter 10Mb or so and see what happens? In JVM.CONFIG, JVM args, -XX:MaxPermSize=NNm where NN = numbers.
Needless to say you are running a lot of end of life product and should plan to migrate to something more current.

CF 6.1 - JRUN Closed Connection/Server errors occurring on a daily basis
We seem to be having issues with Jrun Closed Connection/Server errors occuring on a daily basis now. The server will stop responding to requests until the ColdFusion service is restarted.
We're using CF 6.1, the following error message is from the log files and seems to be Java/JVM related but I was hesitant to make any changes to the JVM parameters.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this daily issue of restarting CF service? Other than upgrading to more recent version of CF which we'll be doing later this year.
Thanks,
Dave

I guess Java non heap space Permanent Generation is full the next object trying to load into that space can’t fit, plus all the objects in there are referenced so no objects can be removed so free space can’t be made available. One would need to do some work with Java logging and know what JVM.CONFIG looks like to know if that guess is accurate.
You could try increase that parameter 10Mb or so and see what happens? In JVM.CONFIG, JVM args, -XX:MaxPermSize=NNm where NN = numbers.
Needless to say you are running a lot of end of life product and should plan to migrate to something more current.

New Apache sites return 500 Internal Server Error for all CFML requests
This is an ugly one. I think it is an Apache2 - ColdFusion 9 web server connector problem.
I have two Solaris Unix web servers. Each of these servers have a dozen and a half Apache web sites each one connected to one of five ColdFusion instances.
All, but TWO of them are working properly. We created two new Apache web sites and connected them to a new ColdFusion instance. This worked fine on one of our boxes, the development one, but not on the other, production of course.
Whenever we try to request a cfm url from one of these sites on the production server we get a 500 Internal Server Error. HTML pages serve up just fine, and the new instance's Administrator runs fine on its 8305 port. So both Apache and ColdFusion seem to be working independently, but they are not talking to each other. All the other Apache sites connected to the other four ColdFusion instances also work properly.
This has led me to investigate the web server connectors. They have always been tricky and problematic to set up on these boxes. The built in tools have never worked for us on these boxes and we have always had to manually compile the connectors and configure the connections in the web sites..
But, as far as I can tell, all the connection setups are the same between working examples and these non-working sites.
Any insights into what else I should be checking and|or how web server connectors actually work (they have alwasy been mysterious black boxes to me) would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
IanSome more information.
I took a closer look at the logs (I wasn't looking
in the Apache logs before). I found this block for the last attempt to
request a cfm page.

Ok I am just stepping into J2EE after developing with
Coldfusion for 7 years and Java SE for 2 years.
The natural choice of J2EE server for me is JRUN as we are
running Coldfusion 7 ent so we have it already. But since I have
started going through some tutorials nothing seems to work.
I take a working standard welcome.jsp page, add this tag at
the bottom
<html:form action="/actions/register3">
</htm:form>
click refresh and get this error, and cannot restart the
particular server. I am running JRUN 4 full version 2CPU with
updater 6, any ideas why this might happen????
Thanks for reading
cheers

I have a new server with a jrun problem I am stuck on. The
old server is setup in standalone mode and somewhere jrun has a
mapping to listen for an extention other than .cfm (ex. index.xyz).
Apache is setup correctly, as it passes the request to coldfusion
who then gives an error;
"JRun will not accept request. Check JRun web server
configuration and JRun mappings on JRun server."
Well I have 2 test servers, 1 standalone mode, 1 multiserver
mode, and I finally got the admin started (using the jrun -start
admin), port 8000. But still stuck on what's next.
The old server works, the .xyz get's parsed and treated just
like a .cfm and I don't know where to add it, so I am assuming in
the jrun admin. I also don't know howto get to the jrun admin on
the standalone server as port 8000 is not listening. So is there
some /opt/coldfusion8/bin/coldfusion -- flag somewhere to start?
Any help is appreciated. What does this have to do with programming? This sounds more like a support issue -- have you contacted the vendor?

We've migrated from ColdFusion MX 6.1 to 8 recently and we're
seeing an alarming number of error messages like these:
Server Error
The server encountered an internal error and was unable to
complete your request.
JRun Connector Protocol Error.
We're running:
Cold Fusion 8,0,1,195765 64-Bit
Solaris 10
Apache 2.2.10
JRun Connector mod_jrun22.so
JDK 1.5.0_16 (we downgraded the JVM as a potential fix)
Oracle JDBC drivers 11.1.0.6.0 for JDK 5 (we need Oracle 11g
database support)
We've spent several days investigating this now. The only
patterns seem to be that:
-happens a little bit more after a server restart
-can return the error very quickly on random pages
-but can also return the error on pages that are running big
queries and take a long time to run
-very inconsistent, we can call the same page multiple times
at once - some requests fail, others succeed
-we are also seeing a lot of java.io.EOFException errors in
our cfserver.log with stack traces of some kind
-the logs don't point in any parcticular direction, nor do
the JRun Connector errors seem to coincide with any logs entries
What we've tried to do to fix this:
-Tried the built-in Adobe Oracle database drivers
-Tried the JDK 5 version of the Oracle 11.1.0.6.0 database
drivers
-Downgraded the JVM used by Cold Fusion 8 to JDK 5.
-Adjusted the data source connection pools timeouts; turned
off Maintain Connections altogether just to see if it made a
difference
-Adjusted template caching settings
-Tweaked the 3 or 4 JRun Connector timeout settings in
Apache. Also turned on verbose mode on the JRun Connector to see if
that revealed anything. Saw a few suspicious entries, such as:
jrApache[init] 127.0.0.1:51800 destroying/closing socket [35]
error 0
jrApache[init] jrCloseSocket [35]
But these did not parallel all of the JRun connector errors
we've been seeing.
-Tried connecting to only one database node at a time (we
have an Oracle cluster)
-Verified our JDBC connection string
-Tried reproducing this error under previous Cold Fusion 6.1
production servers and in development environment, but didn't have
any luck
-Even tried cleaning up the linebreak characters in some of
our code after vi complained about "premature end of file" or
"premature end of line" - no luck.
We're pulling our hair out at this point. The only other
thing we've suspected is a firewall or loadbalancer issue causing
us to lose connections. HELP!!!!Hello,
we also have got the same error and also very sporadic.
We're running:
Cold Fusion 8,0,1 32-Bit
Window 2003 Server
Apache 2.0.63
JRun Connector mod_jrun20.so
JDK 1.6.0_04
ms sqlserver 2005
on VMWare
The error occures on different installations and different
machines. allways on vmware.
when it happens nothing helps any more.
- restarting apache - no effect
- restarting jrun - no effect
- restarting both - no effect
- killing all apache and jrun processes and restart - no
effect
and the system does not recover by itself.
only restarting the vmware helps...
sometimes even the jdbc connection to our mssqlserver 2005
ist not available anymore.
message: socket write error.
seems to be something very deep in the system, but we could
not figure out what.
we got the same
"destroying/closing socket"
error in our apache log files.
seems to happen more often if cpu is on load, or if more
threads are running but we are not able to reproduce it at all...
help please! -
Sql statement causes my JRun server to fail.
I'm beginning JSP and can't go through this recurrent error: the first request to the JSP page containing sql statement works well, in the second, an error occurs and finally, the third forces my Jrun server to fail with a stack error...

Server Error - Macromedia application server(s) are unreachable
For my test environment, I've got a ColdFusion 8 instance
running on Windows 2003 Server. Everything was fine until I
rebooted the server. Then I started getting an error message:
quote:
Either the Macromedia application server(s) are unreachable
or none of them has a mapping to process this request.
My first thought was an application mapping error or
something happened to the .cfm mappings. Everything checked out
fine though. So I looked in the wsconfig log files and saw this.
quote:
2008-06-04 16:54:58 jrISAPI[ 760:1048] could not initialize
proxy for 127.0.0.1:51800
2008-06-04 16:54:58 jrISAPI[ 760:1048] Couldn't initialize
from remote server, JRun server(s) probably down.
Something was definitely running on port 51800 though since I
could telnet to it. No clue why it couldn't initialize. Any ideas?
Thanks.
SteveFrom what I can tell, this error displays when the web server connector exists, but JRUN (coldfusion) server is not running.
I have spent 3 days trying to repair this error message on my Windows XP CF9 Standard Edition. We had coincidentally made some network changes which I assumed right away was the culprit. When I would try and start the JRUN server manually (jrun.exe) it would fail and the log would specify an error to the effect of:
"RMI transport layer does not exists." <---- not the whole error. But it should be specific enough for someone else with the same trouble to find.
I deleted the web server connector from wsconfig.exe and tried to re-add it. Which also failed:
"Could not connect to any JRun/ColdFusion servers on host xxxxx.
Possible causes:
-Server not running:
-----Start Macromedia Jrun4 or ColdFusion 9 server
-Server running:
-----JNDI listen port in jndi.properties blocked by TCP/IP filtering or firewall
-----host restriction in security.properties blocking communication with server"
I knew then (since JRun was not running) I wouldn't be able to re-add the connector until I resolved the JRUN "RMI transport layer does not exists" error. After 2 days of unsuccessfully making sure I had done everything I could to allow the ports that JRUN needed, I was still convinced this was a port issue. I also noticed that MSSQL Express (unrelated service) was not starting either. STRANGE!!
Decided to run MalwareBytes and after a "Quick Scan", it did find a few infections. I removed the infections and MalwareBytes requested a reboot, rebooted, and VIOLA!! Working.
If your ColdFusion configuration was working (in my case for at least a year) prior to a reboot, and then suddenly can't start itself, be sure to run a scan to remove any infections. I'm assuming my infection was blocking the ports that JRun needed to startup. Good Day!!! -

Error 500--Internal Server Error while opening a taskflow in inline popup
Hi,
I am getting "Error 500--Internal Server Error" while opening a bounded taskflow as a popup from another bounded taskflow containing page fragments. The popup taskflow contains jspx pages. I even removed the jspx pages from the popup taskflow to check if the error is resulting from the bindings on the pages but still I get the same error. The entire stack trace of the error in the popup dialog is :

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
KKHi Frank,
Thanks for the reply. I am using it as an inline popup. I am trying to create command links dynamically in an iterator. When a link is clicked a popup window opens. The text of the link is passed to the popup window by creating a variable in the session scope ( I even tried request scope) by an action listener in the backing bean.
I tried to create another simple application with a static command button which passes its text to popup window through a session scope variable. It worked fine. I am not sure why the same procedure is not working in my original application. Can you give me a hint what could possibly go wrong according the exception stack trace ?
Thanks,

Hi
I got the 500 internal server error while deploying the application to server.
I tried to find the log file at usr --> SAP --> SID --> JC XX --> j2EE --> Cluster --> Server 0 --> log, but no log was there.
There were structure changes in the RFC and also code change in my Web
Dynpro code.
I´m working on EP 7.
NWDS version is 7.0.1
Please help me as the production move is pending because of this.
Regards

at com.sapmarkets.bam.logcontroller.jmx.LogControllerFacade.closeLogQuerySession(LogControllerFacade.java:356)

As2 receiver channel, SEEBURGER AS2: 500 Internal Server Error
Hi,
There is one scenario in our landscape, its running in production, Proxy to As2. The interface working fine for last 2 weeks, today its showing error in As2 receiver channel saying
Message processing failed. Cause: javax.resource.ResourceException: Fatal exception: javax.resource.ResourceException: SEEBURGER AS2: 500 Internal Server Error # , SEEBURGER AS2: 500 Internal Server Error #
I have searched in forum, but couldnt get much idea on why this error encounters and how can we resolve it.
Kindly provide your inputs to help me resolve this.
Thanks,
RuchiHi Ruchi,
500 means the requested server does not understand the request (the requested service is unknown). The reason is obvisiously outside of PI. You have to contact the 3rd party owner and ask why the system is refusing the request instead of responsing like before.

Udo
