JS CS2 Call out specific image in script

I've never had to do anything with images in scripting, and I'm unclear whether I need to use "links", "images", "graphics"...so I came here. For everything I've found here so far, people are dealing with all images in a document. I just want to perform an action on a specific image, not all. (example: "logo.eps")
I have the same image in each document twice - once on the left master page and once on the right master page. It's a logo, and we've just added the registered mark to it, so we need to update it on all of our documents. The new image is the same name, so I need to:
*Update both links to the image
*Fit frame to content to both (the (R) makes the logo wider)
*On the left-hand master page, 'fit frame to content' widens the frame to the right. I need the right edge of the logo to stay on the right margin
I don't want to "fit frame to content" for all images, because some frames for other images may have been purposely sized--I don't want those to change.
Suggestions? (Unfortunately, we're still on CS2)

Hi Loic,
Thanks! It seems like a good start. It's not exactly working, but I'll see if I can adjust it myself from here. (For example, it's only updating the logo on the left master page. The one on the right page is not updating.) If I can't, I'll be back...

  • How to figure out which albums contain a specific image?

    Is there a way to click on a specific image and find out where else it is located (besides the master file location)? For example, let's say an image of your cousin is included in an album Birthdays and in another called Family. If I clicked on the master image, is there a way to see that it is included in the albums Birthdays and Family?
    Thanks for your help!

    The link to the script in the post you referenced is no longer valid.
    This should work Aperture: Search albums for a specific image
    I have it installed as an Aperture Service but it will work as a regular script.

  • Please help to call oracle procedure with out paramter from shell script

    Hi
    I want to call a process with out parameter from shell script. I am calling process in shell script in below way
    function Process_loads {
    ( echo 'set serveroutput on size 1000000 arraysize 1'
    echo "set pagesize 0 term on verify off feedback off echo off"
    echo "BEGIN"
    echo " dbms_output.put_line('Before Calling The package'); "
    echo " x ( '$1', '$2', '$2', '$4', '$5', '$error_code'); "
    echo " dbms_output.put_line('After Calling The package'); "
    echo "EXCEPTION "
    echo " WHEN OTHERS THEN "
    echo " dbms_output.put_line('BIN_LOAD_ERROR' || SQLERRM); "
    echo " ROLLBACK;"
    echo "END;"
    echo "/" ) | sqlplus -s $USER/$PASSWORD@$SID
    Here $error_code is out paramter. All varaibles passed in process are declared with export command.
    When executing .sh it gives below error
    "sh ERROR at line 3: ORA-06550: line 3, column 99: PLS-00363: expression '' cannot be used as an assignment target ORA-06550: line 3, column 3: PL/SQL: Statement ignored".
    Please help to get rid from this error or please suggest how to call a oracle procedure with out paramter from unix shell script.
    Thanks in advance

    You can try this:
    From sql*plus
    SQL> ed
      1  create or replace procedure my_proc(p_id in int, p_result out int)
      2  as
      3  begin
      4  select 10 * p_id
      5  into p_result
      6  from dual;
      7* end my_proc;
    SQL> /
    Procedure created.
    SQL> set serveroutput on
    SQL> declare

      5  dbms_output.put_line(v_r);
      6  end;
      7  /

  • How do I display call out accessories with different images?

    I need some help with an app I'm developing.  I'm displaying a map with an array of annotations.
    I have managed to display the map & annotations successfully.
    What I want to do next is have call out accessories that display different images everytime they are tapped.
    Can anyone help with this? I have managed to display a right call out accessory but I'm getting stuck here & I don't know how to get my code to display images.
    Any help wil be greatly appreciated!

    baltwo: Thanks for the tip, I didn't know how easy it was to set up custom icons in OS X. In this case it's a difficult solution because it will have to be done by hand for every single folder, which is a problem if I'm going to have these in two places. I'm new to Automator but there doesn't seem to be a way to have it; 1) Select all the folders in a directory. 2) Copy the first image in each folder to the clipboard and have it use that image as each folder's icon.
    Barney-15E: I know it sounds moronic, but yes. I've tried iPhoto but it's not a very good solution in this case. My folder structure is like this:
    Root -> 282 image folders with 10 to 60 pictures in each.
    All I really need is the ability to see at a glance what each image folder has without opening each individual folder. The folders are numbered sequentially (1-282 in this case) rather than by proper names, so this is the most efficient way.

  • Cannot Call Out to Specific Phone Number

    I am not able to call out to a specific phone number from the iPhone.
    I am able to call this specific phone number from different sources. ie. Another cell phone, lan line, work, etc...
    Any clues on why just a specific phone number cannot be made to?
    When I try to call, I always get 2 beep sounds only and says the Call Ended.
    I get no Dial tone when I call also.
    ps.
    It could be that somehow they blocked my cell phone number.
    But, I do not believe so.

    Aha! T-Mobile is so ticked at losing out to AT&T that they are blocking incoming calls from iPhones!

  • Video I call out in /body and  /head is playing on every page

    I have almost no experience when it comes to coldfusion however I am trying to add a video to a clients site. The clients site is http://www.pcalic.com/ I'm adding this to the Index.cfm however the issue is when I click on the links to get to the other pages, the videos also play on that page. I really only want the videos to play on the home page. Is there something I can write to prevent the other pages from grabbing that?
    I'm calling out 2 things one is the video script which I place above the </body> tag.
    The other is video player and the java script call out which i put above the </head> tag

  • Applescript calls applescript. Want second script to pop to forground

    I am trying to write an applescript application to replace the aperture call out to an external edit. I want to be able to call a number of applications. Most of the basic code seems to work individually.
    First Applescript app in aperture calls out to second applescript app. Second applescript app displays a dialog to ask which app to run. Once selection is made write a string to a text file.
    we close that window from second app and of course are returned to the first app in aperture (I am hoping since did not specify to not wait). After execution returns the next applescript line in the first app reads the text file. Then we execute the application based on the result from the text file .
    I think this logic should work I just need to know how to pop the second scripts running process to the forground. Is there a trick to wrap around it?
    (this is VERY preliminary code so not asking about that mess. Once I get the code to pop the second application to the foreground I can debug this better)
    HELP PLEASE
    feel free to email me direct but please also post here for others: [email protected]
    ===============
    code: first app (run from aperture)
    on run argv
    (* launch the other script in the forground since this is background *)
    launch "apertureAccessDialog"
    (* grab the results from the output file *)
    set the_file to ((path to desktop) & "test.txt")
    set answer to (read the_file as list) as text
    if (count argv) is 0 then
    set image to "/Users/efaneuf/Desktop/test.jpg"
    else
    set image to item1 of argv
    end if
    if answer = "1" then
    do shell script "open -a '/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5/Adobe Photoshop CS5.app' " & image
    end if
    if answer = "2" then
    do shell script "open -a '/Applications/Adobe After Effects CS4/Adobe After Effects CS4.app' " & image
    end if
    if answer = "3" then
    do shell script "open -a '/Applications/Adobe Lightroom 3 Beta.app' " & image
    end if
    end run
    second app: run by first app and WANT TO FORCE TO FORGROUND
    set res to text returned of (display dialog "
    1) Photoshop CS5
    2) After Effects
    3) Light Room3" default answer "1")
    (* save the selection to a file so we can grab it in the application side *)
    set the_file to (path to desktop as string) & "test3.txt"
    set the_data to res
    try
    set fRef to (open for access the_file with write permission)
    set eof of fRef to 0
    write (the_data) to fRef starting at eof as string
    close access fRef
    set fRef2 to (open for access the_file)
    set read_data to (read fRef2 as string) as text
    close access fRef2
    display dialog "" & read_data & ""
    on error errStr number errorNumber
    try
    display dialog errStr & " " & number
    close access fRef
    end try
    end try

    I agree with Camelot:  You probably just want to use a single script.  You can control multiple applications in a single script using tell blocks:
    tell application "Finder"
      activate
    end tell
    To control additional applications, you can do one block after another, sequentially, or nest one inside another, or any combination thereof.  For example, an if statement could have an application block after the then (example below).
    Also, while you can use a do shell script the way you are, you’d probably be better off using the AppleScript open command instead.  So you might have something which looks like:
    if answer = "1" then tell application "Adobe Photoshop CS5"
      open image
    end tell
    Note:  I don’t have Photoshop, so the above example is faked; the open command’s syntax may vary.  You should consult each app’s AppleScript dictionary for the list of available commands and proper syntax.
    Functionally equivalent alternatives to the example above include:
    if answer = "1" then
              tell application "Adobe Photoshop CS5"
           open image
              end tell
    end if
    and:
    if answer = "1" then tell application "Adobe Photoshop CS5" to open image
    Note too that you’ll probably want to change your image variable declaration to:
    set image to POSIX file "/Users/efaneuf/Desktop/test.jpg"

    Success!!!
    I had to grant this permissions:
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'WS_TEST', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'getClassLoader', '' );
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'WS_TEST', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'accessClassInPackage.sun.util.calendar', '' );
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'WS_TEST', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'setFactory', '' )
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'WS_TEST', 'SYS:java.util.PropertyPermission', 'HTTPClient.socket.idleTimeout', 'write' );
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'WS_TEST', 'SYS:java.net.SocketPermission', 'localhost', 'resolve' );
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'WS_TEST', 'SYS:java.net.SocketPermission', '127.0.0.1:8084', 'connect,resolve' );
    As I wrote earlier, WS_TEST is my user into which I load JAX-RPC client. Note that, if you load JAX-RPC client into user another than SYS, you have NOT to use -s -grant public option (wassam wrote about this too). Another thing is that I (finally) didn't load OC4J. To consume WebService I use utl_dbws.invoke(call_Handle CALL, request SYS.XMLTYPE) function.

    Saubhik's provided the solution, but just for fun:
    Test procedure:
    create or replace procedure get_ename
       ( p_empno in emp.empno%type
       , p_ename_out out emp.ename%type )
    is
    begin
       select ename into p_ename_out
       from   emp
       where  empno = p_empno;
    end get_ename;Test data:
    SQL> select empno, ename from emp order by 1;
    EMPNO ENAME

    7876 ADAMS

    7902 FORD
    7934 MILLER
    14 rows selectedTest call from SQL*Plus to show it working:
    SQL> declare
      2     v_ename emp.ename%type;
      3  begin
      4     get_ename(7844,v_ename);
      5     dbms_output.put_line(v_ename);
      6  end;
      7  /
    TURNER
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.Demo shellscript (borrowing the function idea from Saubhik):
    #!/bin/ksh
    empno=${1:-NULL}
    exec_sql() {
        sqlplus -s william/w@//vm.starbase.local:1521/eleven <<END_SQL
        spool get_out_value.sh.log
        set serverout on size 2000 feedback off
        declare
           v_name emp.ename%type;
        begin
           get_ename(${empno},v_name);
           dbms_output.put_line('# ' || v_name);
        end;
        spool off
        exit
    END_SQL
    ename=$(exec_sql ${empno} | awk '/^# / {print $2}')
    print Employee ${empno} = ${ename}Demo:
    /Users/williamr: get_out_value.sh 7844
    Employee 7844 = TURNER
    /Users/williamr: get_out_value.sh
    Employee NULL =Note this substitutes the word NULL if no empno is passed, and it ignores error output or anything else by only looking for lines beginning '# ' and then taking the following word. Error messages will appear in the logfile. (In this example it probably doesn't need the NULL substitution because a missing parameter would cause a syntax error which the script will handle anyway, but it could be useful in more complex examples.)
    For a production script you should probably use an OS authenticated account so you don't have to deal with password strings.

  • Image Processor script won't close windows

    I'm testing a client's favorite method for converting folders of, say, 1000 images from RAW to large JPEG. He now uses Photoshop in CS3: He opens File Menu > Scripts > Image Processor, designates a huge folder of RAW files, sets the right parameters, and saves to a different folder. Works perfectly (but slowly) on a Mac G5.
    Now I am testing it on a Mac Pro in PS-CS4, the setup he wants to buy, using exactly the same parameters. Trouble is, the window that opens on each document isn't closed, and so they accumulate! Doesn't matter whether Tabs is enabled or not. Starts eating up scratch space and has the potential to open 1000 tabs or windows. Something is wrong.
    Same operation works perfectly in PS-CS3 on this Mac Pro.
    If the Close Window is missing from this repeating script, then it should be added back -- or a checkbox should be added: "Close each window." I haven't been able to create an Action that will close each window without confusing the Save/Save As mechanism in the script.
    How can I report this apparent bug? Or can someone please tell me what I'm missing.
    (I know there are other ways to accomplish this task. But this one should work!)

    From Kathy: "I still can not find out your issues here. You may try report this to adobe through this link.
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform"
    Thank you, Kathy! This was the tip I needed. I thought that Adobe may, indeed, be monitoring this forum. Many manufacturers monitor and post in their own forums, e.g. Apple.
    "Also one simple workaround for you, could be create a close action and run this action in Image Processor."
    I really did try this. Trouble is, you run into unresolvable interactions with a Save As dialog. I.e. the Close Action seems to interfere with the saving of the converted JPEG. At least I couldn't get it to work -- but it should not be necessary.
    There are workarounds, such as selecting multiple items in Bridge, opening them all into ACR, and then selecting them all and clicking Save File. Doesn't open any windows at all! But the bug still needs to be reported.
    From Ramon: "Before your frustration causes you to become overly argumentative, you may want to consider that your interlocutor may actually know a bit more than you seem to think she does. Kathy may even be part of the Adobe team, for all you know."
    You are reading way too much into what I said. Argumentative? I meant what I said literally. The behavior of the Image Processor script should not have any dependencies, and the documentation (such as it is) indicates none whatever. Further, the script, when run identically in CS3, runs perfectly.

  • Calling Functions From Import Integration Script

    I've got an import integration script that runs fine, however I also have several DataPump scripts that are used in FDM to change specific columns as they come in. I can take the code from the scripts and add to the Import Integration script, but I would rather just call those other functions from the VBScript. I don't see any docs on this, and I'm just wondering if anyone has done this or can describe how I can do it.
    Is it possible? Since the standard import scripts reference the strField and the strRecord, can these functions be called from the import integration script?

    strField and strRecord are arguments passed by the application to the import function. The represent the field as defined by the import format and the record that is being processed during the import.
    Given that, I'm not sure how to answer your question.

  • Problems with UTL_DBWS calling out a web service.

    I´m using ORACLE 10G 10.2.0 and i ´ve downloaded the dbws-callout-utility-10R2.zip utility l´ve unziped it and launched it .
    the command loadjava -u SCOTT/passwd -r -v -f -genmissing dbwsclientws.jar dbwsclientdb102.jar ended without errors.
    then I gave grant access using the following commands
    the environment variable is
    $TMPCLASSPATH=$ORACLE_HOME/sqlj/lib/dbwsa.jar:$ORACLE_HOME/jdk/lib/dt.jar:$ORACLE_HOME/jdk/lib/tools.jar:$ORACLE_HOME/sqlj/lib/runtime12.jar:$ORACLE_HOME/sqlj/lib/translator.jar:$ORACLE_HOME/javavm/lib/aurora.zip:$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/jlib/xdb.jar:$ORACLE_HOME/lib/xsu12.jar:$ORACLE_HOME/jlib/jndi.jar:$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/jlib/aqapi.jar:$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/jlib/jmscommon.jar:$ORACLE_HOME/lib/xmlparserv2.jar:$ORACLE_HOME/jlib/orai18n.jar:$ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/ojdbc14.jar

    COMMIT;
    call dbms_java.grant_permission( 'SCOTT', 'SYS:java.lang.RuntimePermission', 'setFactory', '' );
    COMMIT;
    then I created the package running UTL_DBWS .SQL scripts
    when I run a test for calling out the web service I got the next error.
    ORA-29532: UNCAUGHT JAVA EXCEPTION : Java.Lang.IllegalAccessException: java.lang.ExceptionLnLn

    name 'oracle.jpub.runtime.dbws.DbwsProxy.createService(java.lang.String,java.lang.String) return long';
    Is necessary to install the jpublisher in addition for a sucessfully web service calling out?
    what goes wrong?
    Thanks for the soon answer.

    I have exactly the same problem.
    All possible grants are made.
    Running as SYS is not functioning as well.
    The same installation (the same jar's, the same utl_dbws version, the same database version) does function on two other (developers team's) servers .
    The differences are:
    Where it functions: Oracle database Enterprise edition on Windows (Windows 7, Vista)
    Where it does not function: Oracle database Stadard edition on Unix
    I have gone though a decent number of forums and other on-line resources with no success. Solutions available are to grant missing permissions. However these solutions are based on the assumption that under SYS user everything functions properly.
    In my case, this does not function even under SYS as SYSDBA.
    I will highly appreciate any recommendations!
    Best Regards,
    Michail
    P.S.
