I am somewhat confused by section 9.5 in jsf-1_0-pfd-spec.pdf.
It ends with
"Each action included in the Standard HTML RenderKit Tag Library is documented
in a subsection below, with the following outline for each action:"
I however seem to miss these subsections.
Am I interpreting something wrong or is there stuff missing?

How one can know that a pdf file is in ISO 32000-1:2008(PDF 1.7) standard format?
Breif Introdution abt ISO 32000-1:2008(PDF 1.7)
ISO is named as "International Organization Standardization" who look after the standardization of diffrent format gobally. Now that had mention ISO 32000-1:2008 standard for PDF. So how we ensure that a pdf is of this standard.
Do acrobat had any option to look the ISO standard of a pdf file or else way to view it.

ISO 32000-1 is nothing to do with PDF/A - it is the core standard for the PDF/1.7 document format. PDF/A is covered by ISO 19005-1.
Preflight can run a number of checks but there is no easy way to verify compliance with PDF/1.7 as a whole. You can try the "Report PDF Syntax Issues" profile in Preflight but that does not guarantee to detect non-compliance, only the most common things which will break the document.
Creating your PDF files using a standards-compliant application such as Adobe Acrobat is by far the best option - I never recommend refrying a PDF unless there is a specific necessity to do so and the file is only destined for hardcopy print, as it will break pretty much everything (accessibility tags, scripts, forms, links, media, layers, color spaces, certificates, etc.).
Because it's not easy to verify, and Acrobat always produces standards-compliant files, many commercial printers and publishers insist on "Adobe PDFs" rather than generic ones, and will reject files that have been created with third-party software.

Appropriate Phase for Conversions - JSF 1.1 Spec. Contradiction?

It seems that the JSF 1.1 Specification has contradictions:
From Section "3.3.2 Converter" it reads:
+This method [getAsObject] is used to convert the presentation view of a components value+

processing lifecycle.
Then there's there's this quote from Section "2.2.2 Apply Request Values":

Request Values phase instead.
How can it be that conversion "normally happens during Process Validations phase"
when a converter's getAsObject method is called called "during the Apply Request Values
phase?"
In practice, using the Sun RI and without any immediate flags being set, it happens
in the Process Validations phase.

Who can help me with replacing the standard HTML editor in WPC?

We have chosen to replace the standard HTML Editor in the Web Page Composer by the TinyMCE Editor. I have worked my way through the document written by Boris Magocsi (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f04b5c5d-3fd2-2a10-8ab0-8fa90e3ac162) and the TinyMCE Editor is diplayed when we add or edit a paragraph.
However, we can not type any text in the input field anymore and we can not click any of the buttons in the TinyMCE editor. Can anybody help a total Javascript newby with fixing this? Full points will be awarded obviuosly. Thanks in advance!

Priority of pdf opened with in HTML Component with Menus

Hi,
We have a group of menus poistioned in sequence. Below the Menu one HTML component is there to display html files and pdf files. If any pdf is opened in html component and if I try to open drop dowm menu the menu is displaying below html component.

When you say the entire content, do you mean some parts of the pdf are not getting displayed or is it going out of the screen?

Digital PDF Booklets NOT Appearing In My iTunes Library For Some Reason....

The title pretty much says it all. Had restored my iTunes music files to a new computer along with all the music and any digital PDF booklets that I had. Trust me the PDF booklets are successfully imported on my new pc but for some reason I am having a devil of a time getting them to show up in the iTunes lib. I purchased a new album that had it's own digital booklet and THAT booklet HAS shown up in my lib but for some reason the rest of my digital booklets just won't. Even when I go to the folder in which they are stored and double click on them. They open, but I thought that maybe doing so would automatically add them to my iTunes lib but this is not the case. They ARE on my hardrive, and they DO open up easy enough. Thing is for whatever reason known but to God himself they will NOT appear in my lib. Does anyone have ANY clue as to what I should do?

PDF files don't carry a tag so if you reimport them all you get is a title. In fact now that iTunes supports PDFs for iBooks they might even default to being categorised as Books (if so, change the Media Kind to Music) otherwise they're likely to be hiding down in the Unknown Artist/Unknown Album section. The iTunes "form" for digital booklet names is *Digital Booklet - <Album>* so if you type "Digital Booklet" in the search box all should be revealed. You need to edit the properties for each one with its Album, Artist & Album Artist so that it can then appear listed with the album it belongs too.

Firefox 31 changes all PDF icons to Firefox HTML icons that I can not seem to change back, can this be rectified? Using Windows XP.....

Once Firefox 31 is installed it sees all PDF files as Firefox HTML files and changes all of the PDF icons to Firefox HTML icons. This change can not seem to be reversed without uninstalling Firefox.
Only the icon is changed, not the .PDF extension.

Windows now thinks that the default file type for .pdf is Firfox HTML Document.
I can change which program opens .pdf files but I can't change the icon.
Not a Firefox problem? Really?

Let me explain further so that you can understand. In folder options / file types I can scroll thru and choose any file type / advanced and change the icon...every one of them except (now) .pdf. There is no advanced tab. Only the message about "restore" I mentioned before.
Firefox changed the file association for .pdf files and now I can't fix it.
And from another thread:
"Firefox 31 is not converting or renaming your files. All it is doing is registering with the Windows OS as an application that is able to open the files and Windows then changes the file's icons accordingly.
This should only occur if no other application has already registered your .pdf files."
Well I guess that's not true is it?

How to display blob content stored in a table in HTML region or report region.
I already have a process to display the image content.
But my question here is how to display word/pdf document within the html region so that the user can read the document without downloading it.

I was dead wrong.
The display of images from BLOB is a special case because APEX provides a Display Image item type.
Moreover, HTP/HTF packages also do not provide for handling of BLOB content. So AJAX cannot be used.
Which implies that the only way to get binary content, other than images, is with the use of a WPG_DOCLOAD.DOWNLOAD_FILE call.
This in turn implies that it may not be feasible to "inject" the BLOB into an exist HTML DOM in the Browser.

JSF 2.0 tag library as distributed is incomplete?

I've spent a good chunk of 2 days at this and i'm pulling my hair out as i speak. I've installed mojarra 2.0.3 FCS in my Netbeans 6.7.1 installation. I now tried to use the <h:head> tag but for some reason, i keep getting a "org.xml.sax.SAXException: No tag "head" defined in tag library associated with uri "http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"" meaning the tag/tag handler does not exist in the package. I've downloaded every other build of mojarra on the site with the same results. my declaration goes :

Similar, probably if the layout is simple. You cannot get exactly the same, because HTML isn't an exact layout, just hints to a browser. (Indeed, if HTML could do what PDF does, PDF wouldn't have been invented!)

Jsf equivelent of struts html:base tag

I'm having an issue with the myfaces panelNavigation component. I'm including it in a series of pages with subview & jsp:include tags. It's working great with one exception. If I browse to a document one directory deeper than the "home" page, and then click the "home" link taking me back to the parent directory, the external css sheet doesn't load. All of my links and text are there, but not styled at all. If I click the link again, every thing loads fine.
I remember the <html:base> tag from struts and I tried using it on the home page. However, the page refused to load and the server did not throw a stack trace (even though the logging is set to FINE).
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced a similar issue and if there is an equivelent tag in JSF to solve this problem.

i think i haven't understood the base tag (and have never used it).
could somebody tell me how to use this tag correctly ? (html or struts version)
actually my problem is, i used to define a variable at the top of every jsp page like this :

then,
<a href="<%= conPath%>/some/link">Some Text</a> or <img src="<%=conPath%>/image/bottom.jpg">, is there a better way without using java code in jsp ? because when the context root changes some day, i have to change all jsp pages.

Standard html Editor

One of the text field , I use standard html editor to enter the text. I can copy text from any other text editors like MS Word etc,
But Is there any way that I can copy an image from some place and paste to field through the html editor and insert a hyperlink on this image?.
I copied an image from MS Word, but it is not visible after pasting to the html editor, I copied from other html pages , it worked, but I cannot add a Hyper link on this.

The initial requirement of client is to replace HTML editor with JCE editor.
Will you able to tell me about the development effort for such integration.
Secondly, am not sure this happens but just to be sure:
Ive heard that some client users have edited the file offline but the moment they upload the doc/file in Portal/KM, some of the tags miss out.
Including this, there are many other bugs in HTML editor and this is the reason why client wants to replace it.
Thirdly, I had also suggested to go with Web Page Composer but then again, its buggy.
We are on EP7 SP9
Any thoughts on this?

Converting to Standard HTML Styles

Is there a straightforward way to convert my customized stylesheets (some of which mimic standard HTML styles like Header1, Header2, etc.) into HTML styles without having to go into the HTML code itself for every topic and change it over?

Hi there
You might try selecting all the content on the page and copying into the Windows clipboard. Then pasting into Windows Notepad. Then selecting all in Notepad and copying the content back to the clipboard again. From there, you would just delete the existing content in the topic and paste it back in from the clipboard. That will have effectively removed any and all formatting from the text.
Next you would apply Headings to your content. To do this easily, just click inside a line of text. You don't need to select the whole line first, just ensure the cursor is in the line. Press Ctrl+Alt+1 to apply Heading 1. Ctrl+Alt+2 for Heading 2 or Ctrl+Alt+3 for Heading 3.
You might also try selecting all the text in an existing topic, then pressing Ctrl+Shift+N to assign Normal styling to the whole thing. Not sure how well that might work but might be worth trying. If it works, it would save you from side tripping into Notepad land.
