JSF and dynamic data

Hi,
This is not a specific question but rather a high level concept that I'm trying to figure out. I have a system that uses a lot of dynamic data that is handled and viewed in the form of Dynabeans as well as SDO data objects.
I'm working on trying to develop reusable web widgets such as input forms based on these objects and thought of JSF right away.
However its seems like JSF will only work with static data models because the beans and bean properties need to be specified at design time in the xml configuration files.
Here it is: Lets say I have a dynamic java bean with dynamic properties that was created from a metadata object. Now I want to develop a single reusable JSF widget that will create an input form using the information from the metadata object and then connect the widget values to the actual dynamic data object.
Seems like in order to do this, the properties of the dynamic data object need to be defined at runtime so that you can classify it as a managed bean so that JSF knows how to bind values from a widget to a bean.
Does anyone have any thoughts?

Hi.
ValueBinding and MethodBinding work through PropertyResolver, VariableResolver
#{aaaa.bbbb.cccc}aaaa - will be resolved with VariableResolver (root object)
bbbb and cccc - with PropertyResolver
Look at the description of the default realisation of VariableResolver
You will see in which places it searches for a root object. At least it searches in the request, session and application maps. You can just put your dynamic beans in one of this maps.
At the worst case you can substitute implementation of the VariableResolver in faces-config.xml
  <application>
     <variable-resolver>com.qqqqq.MyVariableResolver</variable-resolver>
     <property-resolver>com.qqqqq.MyPropertyResolver</property-resolver>
  </application>

  • QR Code capacity with fixed rendered size and dynamic data

There's a paper forms barcode and symbology is QR Code, layout is 46mm x 46mm, error correction level is M, module width is 0.592mm, and max capacity is Chinese(UTF8) x 88 or number x 627 or uppercase A x 380 or lowercase a x 263, and QR code renered size is about 30mm x 30mm when max capacity.
So, my question is, if I want to ALWAYS keep this QR code renered size is same as max capacity(30mm x 30mm), but my daya is dynamic and mix numeric, alphanumeric and byte mode, is there any formula to calculate how may character such as space should be appended?
    thanks

The more data you stuff into the barcode, the bigger it will be. I am not sure that there is a formula you can use to calculate how much buffer space you need to keep the barcode the same size. At least I have not seen one.
For Designer, we offer these guidelines when using paper forms barcodes: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/designerHelp/index.htm?content=000342.html

  • JSF and dynamic inclusion

    Hi,
I have the following problem, I'm trying to dynamically include a footer jsf fragment into different pages, and depending on the page it will have different properties:
    I need to do this....
on the general pages include the footer:
    <jsp:include page="/soustitres.jsp">
    <jsp:param name="parametre1" value="#{messages['soustitre.paris']}" />
    </jsp:include>
then in soustitres.jsp i want to use the parameter like
    <h:outputText value="#{param['parametre1']}" />
I can't make this work.. any ideas how can i make this work.. i have tried multiple differentes things but just can't make it work, links would also be good.
    Merci!

  • Spry:Content and Dynamic Spry Data

Is there a way to get the spry:content attribute to work well

The provided examples in the documentation deal with static

    Can anyone help?
    Thanks

    Hi Arnout
    These are the urls:
    http://www.grafikkaos.co.uk/pages/front/test_home.php
    - this one displays the spry:content properly, but in the source,
it does not show the 5 articles.
    http://www.grafikkaos.co.uk/pages/front/test_home_2.php
    - I applied a PHP repeat region here. In the source, it shows 5

    Any ideas?

  • Here's how to do ALV (OO) with dynamic fcat, int table and editable data

    Hi everybody
Here's a more useful approach to ALV grid with OO using dynamic table, data NOT from DDIC, dynamic FCAT and how to get changed lines from the grid when ENTER key is pressed.
It's really not too dificult but I think this is more useful than the ever present SFLIGHT methods from the demos.
This also defines a subclass of cl_gui_alv_grid so you can access the protected attributes / methods of that class.
You don't need to add the class via SE24 -- done fron this ABAP.
When you run it click Edit for the first time.
After editing data press ENTER and the break point should bring you into the relevant method.
Code developed on NW2004S trial version but also works on rel 6.40 on a "Real" system.
The code should work without any changes on any system >=6.40.
All you need to do is to create a blank screen 100 via SE51  with a custom container on it called CCONTAINER1.
The rest of the code can just be uploaded into your system using the SE38 upload facility.
When running the program click on the EDIT button to enable the edit functionality of the grid.
Change your data and when you press ENTER you should get the break-point where you can see the original table and changed rows.
This program is actually quite general as it covers Dynamic tables, building a dynamic fcat where your table fields are NOT in the DDIC, intercepting the ENTER key via using an event, and accessing the protected attributes of the cl_gui_alv_grid by defining a subclass of this class in the abap.
I've seen various questions relating to all these functions but none in my view ever answers the questions in a simple manner. I hope this simple program will answer all these and show how using OO ALV is actually quite easy and people shouldn't be scared of using OO.
Have fun and award points if useful.
    Cheers
    Jimbo.

  • Dynamic Data Connection Parameter and Report Parameters

    Post Author: despec
    CA Forum: General
Hello to all,I am using a business view that is based on a dynamic data connection of 13 databases, each a different school.  When I use the BV is a CXrystal Report (XI), it correctly, of course, uses the "read only" parameter for me to select a school.  My problem arises when I try to enter a student name "list of values"  parameter using that same dynamic data connection.  After I select the "read only" school parameter, I then  select that student name and immediately, the "read only" school parameter resets to "--".  Therefore when I click okay, I get an error saying that my selection for the first parameter is invalid.Anyone have any suggestion on how I may be able to resolve this? Thanks,David

    Hello,
Jsut a reminder this is not a Support Case Management system but for all to use.
Since you have BOE 3.1 you should have a valid support contract. Log into Service Market Place and create a case on line and a support Engineer will call you.
If you don't know how to then ask your Manager who is your SAP Account Super User and that person can add you to the list and give you a log in ID and password.
    Thank you

  • Hyperion Planning dynamic forms based on start and end date across years

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where i need to be able to view a form showing periods across years that are dynamically built depending on the start and end dates. If i have a start date of 01/11/2009 and an end date of 31/7/2013 i want to be able to view a form that shows all of the periods (Jan,Feb etc) in a form that is driven by these dates, in addition it will need to show the actual scenario up to the current month and the forecast from the current month to the end date. So basically if a user inputs the start and end dates the form will display the relevant periods driven by these dates.
    Any tips very much appreciated!

    Hello,
This is difficult to realize, but you can get quite far with a workaround. The first question is, where do you want to input your selection of time periods? Assuming you have a webform with the complete timeline in months and years and you type in the start period and end period.
Webforms have the option to suppress rows and columns.
This can be extended with option of empty cells or not empty cells.
You will need to apply your creativity on this.
Put every month-year combination in a column and add the suppression.
Calculate the timeline between start period and end period with a dummy member, so data exists for these and columns will show.
Maybe you will need to copy the required timeline into a separate version for this, to avoid having periods which were outside the selection and still have data.
I hope these hints help a bit in this challenge.

    Philip Hulsebosch

  • How to persist parent  and child tree node data through JSF and Hibernate

    Dear dudes,
I'm a novice to JSF and Hibernate
Actually i want to create a tree structure where for each child node, i should have the parent node reference in my form and then when i save, i need to save the corresponding child node data in the database.
    node-1

         node 1-11a
      node 1-2
    node-2
       node 2-1
node2-2Whenever i click node 1-1 the corresponding parent node ( node-1) reference should appear in my form and when i save this data this data should be saved under parent node and the tree should be re-rendered.
How this can be accomplished and if there are any URL's please refer.

Everybody need not face the same problem you faced. And moreover, everyone out here have their own issues to solve. If people are helping out here, its cause of their passion. Please try to be polite.

I would recommend using TDMS.  Each time you create a new data set, write it to a new channel with a unique name.  I would recommend using a timestamp as the name, so you can easily figure out when your data was taken and it is easy to generate the channel name.  Make sure you use enough time resolution in your timestamp name to make them unique.  Alternately, you can use an indexed channel name (e.g. Data0001, Data 0002, etc.).  If you do this, save the timestamp as metadata with each magnitude.  This may make it easier to fetch.
Reading the data later is fairly easy.  Fetch the data you want using the channel name or timestamp, depending on how you stored it.  TDMS does support multiple access at the same time, so you can read and write "at the same time."
If your data sets are large (megabyte or larger) you may want to take a look at Managing Large Data Sets in LabVIEW.

  • IP: Dynamic Data and Lead Columns

    Hello,
In IP, there is not such thing as "Dynamic Data and Lead Columns" which we have used successfully in BPS. We have quite normal case where accounts are on rows and columns are defined as follows:
Column 1): KF Qty1, Period #, Year "Var Current year (single value)"
Columns 2-n): KF Amt1, Period "Var periods current year (multiple values)", Year "Var Current year"
    Column n+1): Sum columns 2-n
Number of periods in variable "Var periods current year" is not fixed and maintained by superuser, so number of columns is somewhere between 3 and 14 (at least one open period, maximum 12, plus the Qty1 and Sum columns).
How would you fix this in IP?
    Thanks for answers!
    Aki

    Hello Aki,
you could put the period into the columns as char.
if you make a selection to value # and the variable you will se as many columns as periods are selected in the variable plus the one column for #.

  • Feeding dynamic data into formula is causing slow execution and weird results

I am gathering 11 channels of analog input voltage, then performing a series of (different, editable) calculations on each channel of voltage to convert each to sensor temperature.
My first stage of calculations (using multiply, subtract, and divide blocks) works fine.
My second stage of calculations (which includes a natural log "ln") is being performed with the formula block. However, the formula block has three red arrows where the input constants are, and the results of the formula block are intermittent and incorrect (if plotted, the plot just flashes what looks like a value of 1 intermittently... if saved to a csv file, the results show a bunch of zeros and then a row of values, then more zeroes).
I'm not sure if I need to be converting my dynamic data to an array before feeding into the formula, or if there's some other way applying a complex formula to dynamic data, or...? I'd like to stick with dynamic data because it makes plotting things easier, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Converting from a waveform to a double array makes you lose time information.
Index Array can be expanded to index out as many items as you need.

  • How to display dynamic datas and double datas (chart)

    Hi all !
I would like to display dynamic datas and double datas by using charts.
However, it doesn't work and I don't understand why.
Can you help me to fix that ?
    Best regards,

    Hi John,
the sine looks like it should look with your VI!
You convert the DDT to a scalar DBL. That conversion will only use the first sample of the generated sine waveform - usually this is always the same (offset) value when you generate full periods… Or to put it in a mathematical expression: sin(0°)+4 = 4!
When you want to display waveform you should work with waveforms!
Actually, I have used Dynamic data type in order to simulate an signal.
Well, I also simulated a signal in my example VI. I didn't use any ExpressVI to do so…
In a few weeks, I will receive a sensor. I will use in LabView 'DAQ Assistant' whose the ouput is a Dynamic Data.
Nobody forces you to use the DAQAssistent ExpressVI. There are nice DAQmx functions available and LabVIEW comes with a lot of ready-to-use example VIs…
That's why, I used in first place, the 'Simulate signal'. So I think I should keep Dynamic Data Type
I do think you don't need to use the DDT. I think it's better to understand what is going on in your VI. And I think the DDT will be no help for you…

  • How to capture dynamic data in BPM and send to next step ?

    Hi Folks,
How can i capture the dynamic data and later on send it to the next message type in send step in BPM ?
    Regards,

    Hi Santhosh,
In your sceanrio your getting the response from RFC and preapring the XML file.Where you are poulating the Dynamic File name inside of the BPM or Outside of the BPM. Might be it is inside of the BPM, if yes Use another transformation step where you can catch the Dynamic file name to sending to Oracle database and Use send step to sending the message of out of the BPM.
    Cheers

  • How to load dynamic data from the DB...and the answer is not JSP!!!

The information to be shown on the page has to be loaded dynamically from the database. As opposed to creating in static jsp pages, the fields and their attributes (name, label, etc.) are stored in the database tables, mag_registration_form_header and mag_registration_form_fields.
So somehow i have to be able to display all the fields and there data on a JSP. The motive behind this is that there will be something like a common template which many modules can use and there will be a single jsp file which will display the contents as per the event...
The template will be prepared in the java end..
This has to be done using struts framework....

AJAX (and a JSP/Servlet that delivers the info the AJAX call requests).
Edit: If you're talking about changing info already appearing on a loaded page.
And how is the answer not JSP, when you yourself said you would use JSP to display it.
I don't believe you know enough about any of this to even be starting on this "project".
