JSF tree with radiobuttons support

Hi everybody,
I need to create JSF tree with possibility to select both nodes and leaves with radio button.
The only idea I have now is to create my own component, which will generate [BlueShoes JavaScript tree|http://www.blueshoes.org/_bsJavascript/components/tree/examples/example8.html]
Perhaps anyone has better idea? Maybe anyone has already met JSF trees with radiob uttons support?
Thanks beforehand

unfortunately, the browser usually uses right click to bring up a browser's menu for copy/paste, etc. I don't think javascript can intercept that though I could be wrong.

  • JSF Tree with right mouse click

    Hello,
    I am trying to build a JSF tree such that If I right click on any of tree nodes, it should display a vertical menu. Is it possible to do with JSF Tree? If yes, can someone point me where I should start from?
    Thanks.

  • JSF Tree construction - My Faces Tree2 Component development

    Hi
    I am planning to recommend JSF and MyFaces for the development of the application.
    like Navigation Tree on the left side, header, footer and body ..
    1) Can any one share a piece of code to develop Dynamic Navigation Tree(like ServerSideToggling ..I will get the data from backend based on the I will build the Tree with leafs, when we click on leafs we need to call action to redirect to other jsps ) we can achieve this using MyFaces Tree2 Component,Just wondering if anybody know some information, any info is appreciated.
    Parent1
    |
    --Child1__
    |--sub child 1
    --Child2
    --Child3
    Parent2
    |
    --Child1__
    |--sub child 1
    --Child2
    --Child3
    Conditions:
    1) Need to construct the Tree based on backend data.
    2) All the Parents and Children should be links, like when I click on any link, I need to call an action and forward it some other page.
    For testing I hardcoded and built one tree, which look similar...but the dynamic tree needs server side toggling..which requires...handling of backend data...constructing a tree...If you could share a sample, I will be appreciated...mean while I will try to do this...
    thanks

    HI jish,
    A couple suggestions.
    While the MyFaces (tomahawk) components may be very useful, I would encourage you to make sure you're using JSF from the Mojarra project. It is more stable and better supported: https://javaserverfaces.dev.java.net
    Also, I would encourage you NOT to use JSPs. JSF 2.0 will favor a facelets-style syntax, so you should consider using Facelets or JSFTemplating instead. JSP is also slower and more cumbersome to work with. Try: https://jsftemplating.dev.java.net or https://facelets.dev.java.net . Either one of these projects replace JSP and provide "templating" support (which doesn't exist when using JSP) as well as many other features to help you (like JSFTemplating's factories for creating dynamic trees).
    I don't use MyFaces Tree2 component (I use Woodstock's Tree component), however, I think the concepts should be the same. Here's some a link to a very complicated example (GlassFish Admin Console Tree code which is generated from several backend sources + updated via Ajax):
    https://glassfish.dev.java.net/source/browse/glassfish/admin-gui/src/docroot/peTree.jsf?rev=1.12&view=markup
    A more simple example:
    <sun:tree text="Tree Example" clientSide="false" url="http://www.google.com">
        <sun:treeNode text="Static Tree Node" actionExpression="#{some.thing}">
            <dynamicTreeNode treeAdaptorClass="com.sun.enterprise.tools.admingui.tree.MBeanTreeAdaptor"
                objectName="com.sun.appserv:type=applications,category=config"
                methodName="getAllDeployedJ2EEApplications"
                text="Dynamic Tree Node"
                url="/applications/enterpriseApplications.jsf"
                attributeName="name"
                childURL="applications/enterpriseApplicationsEdit.jsf?appName=#{$this{valueBinding}.text}" />
        </sun:treeNode>
    </sun:tree>Another place to look is the scales project. The lead developer on that project is actively developing a Tree component that will have a very clean interface to interacting with dynamic trees.
    Good luck!

    I am using AdvancedDataGrid as tree for displaying my data. Within this ADG tree I have to enable drag n drop i.e. user can select one node and will able to drop that on another node within tree.
    Overwritten dragDrop handler event for ADG.

  • How to create  a very simple dyamic tree with rich faces

    hi i have spent more than 5 days trying to make a very simple rich faces tree but with no result
    i want to make a very simple dyamic tree
    for example i have a button when i click it.i want to add two nodes in my tree("node 1" and "node 2")
    i have also failed in making even a static tree with richfaces i think that some thing is wrong with them i checked the live demo website
    http://livedemo.exadel.com/richfaces-demo/richfaces/tree.jsf?c=tree
    i have tried the source code but with no result :(
    thank you

    You can try something like this
    <rich:tree switchType="server" >
    <rich:treeNodesAdaptor nodes="#{CB.calendarioHandler.organizacion.departamentos}"
    var="departamento">
    <rich:treeNode>
    <h:outputText value="#{departamento.nombre}"/>
    </rich:treeNode>
    <rich:treeNodesAdaptor nodes="#{departamento.empleados}"
    var="empleado">
    <rich:treeNode>
    <h:outputText value="#{empleado.nombre}"/>
    </rich:treeNode>
    <rich:treeNodesAdaptor nodes="#{empleado.calendarios}"
    var="calendario">
    <rich:treeNode>
    <h:outputText value="#{calendario.nombre}"/>
    </rich:treeNode>
    </rich:treeNodesAdaptor>
    </rich:treeNodesAdaptor>
    </rich:treeNodesAdaptor>
    </rich:tree>
    where departamentos, empleados and calendarios are just simple pojos lists.
    I hope to help.

  • Announcing: Developing JSF Portlets with WebLogic Portal Whitepaper

    Just Released: Developing JSF Portlets with WebLogic Portal Whitepaper
    A supplemental developer's guide has been published to help guide WLP 10.x customers that wish to use JSF as the web framework for building portlets on WebLogic Portal. This is a sizable document (150 pages) that covers a large number of topics. It also coaches developers on best practices and common pitfalls.
    Important: It also clarifies the supported configuration of JSF within Portal Web Projects. Workshop for WebLogic by default configures a web project in a configuration that is not supported by WebLogic Portal. The guide explains how to address this:
    * Change from the unsupported MyFaces JSF implementation to the supported Sun Reference Implementation (RI)
    * Change from the unsupported "client" STATE_SAVING_METHOD to the supported "server"
    The guide can be downloaded here:
    http://download.oracle.com/technology/products/weblogic/portal/weblogic-portal-jsf-whitepaper.pdf

    Hi Peter!
    First, I wish to thank you for the great work.
    We followed your whitepaper and managed to deploy a JSF portlet on WLS.
    But we are not able to register it (consume it) as remote portlet in Oracle Portal 10.1.4. The error log is as follows:

  • JSF tree view GUI component and tree node actions

    Hi,
    I am new in using JSF and have a problem with my simple test application.
    The application contains a tree view control with one static tree node and a separate text area. Clicking on the tree node shall fill the text area with the string 'hello'. Seems to be very simple, but it doesn't work.
    What did I do?
    First of all I use the Sun Java Studio Creator 2.
    By double clicking on the tree node in the design window of the IDE a method called treeNode1_action() was created. I also added the String text to the session bean. treeNode1_Action() does not more than setting text='hello' ( getSessionBean().setText('hello'); ).
    The jsp file contains the line
    <ui:textArea binding="#{Page1.textArea}" id="textArea" style="height: 192px; left: 360px; top: 48px; position: absolute; width: 456px" text="#{SessionBean1.text}"/>, so the text of the text area is bound to the session property 'text'.
    Running the application and clicking on the tree node does nothing except reloading the page (no 'hello' inside the text area).
    Using the debugger showed me that the bean property text is set correctly to 'hello', also after reloading the page.
    What did I do wrong?
    What do I have to do to display 'hello' in the text area?
    I would be glad for some good advice to solve my problem and looking forward for an answer.
    Regards from germany
    Matthias

    want to remove the green patch from the jsf tree componentas u said ,, it is COMPONENET so this is a pre-made creator component that u cant chnage its attributes ,,
    instead u can extract Theam.jar file and change the icons ,, u i didnt do it before ,, but u may be find what u want there,
    hope this will help
    good luck

  • [SOLVED] haskell - citeproc-hs was not compiled with bibutils support

    Hi all,
    since I have not yet been able to get help in arch-haskell's IRC channel, I am posting here, maybe someone has an idea:
    I am using pandoc which I have retrieved along with all its dependencies from the haskell binary repository. But when I try to process a bibliography, I get an error message from citeproc-hs:
    pandoc: citeproc: Bibliography format not supported.
    citeproc-hs was not compiled with bibutils support.
    Supposing that the error message is not misleading, I wonder how do I recompile with bibutils support then?
    Googling gave some results concerned with haskell-hs-bibutils, which seems to have been on the haskell repo earlier but is there no longer, so I installed it from AUR (modifying the PKGBUILD to accept haskell-syb>=0.3 instead of =0.3).
    Reinstalling haskell-citeproc-hs did not help.
    Next I tried with cloning habs the haskell repo (as is described here). Since I could not find any switch in haskell-citeproc-hs's PKGBUILD that would disable bibutils support I directly issued
    ./makeahpkg -- haskell-citeproc-hs
    but the resulting package gives the same error as the one from the repo.
    Should I have taken extra steps to build/install haskell-hs-bibutils also in the habs chroot? Or anything else?
    TIA,
    Andreas

    awagner wrote:Should I have taken extra steps to build/install haskell-hs-bibutils also in the habs chroot? Or anything else?
    Yes, it seems this was the problem. Besides cloning habs, I now went on to manually copy the necessary files of bibutils-dynamic and haskell-hs-bibutils from AUR into the local HABS tree, modify dependencies in haskell-hs-bibutils, haskell-citeproc-hs and haskell-pandoc (an additional dependency on haskell-hs-bibutils in haskell-citeproc-hs, in the other cases only change of version numbers).
    Then
    ./makeahpkg -c -- bibutils-dynamic haskell-hs-bibutils haskell-citeproc-hs haskell-pandoc
    produced four packages which I could install and now the error is gone and I can turn to debugging my document and bibliography files

  • Archiso-live with slax support

    I found a way to make archiso scripts work like the old arch-live. By mounting the slax ext2 initrd has root filesystem. The idea is that archiso-live will be like the older arch-live based on slax but will have the archlinux kernel instead of slax kernel.
    I couldn't do this before cause the linux-live scripts would not load right in initramfs with archlinux kernel cause of missing kernel modules that would have been build in kernel with slax kernel.
    I got the system working by making a aufs union with /tmpfs/initrd and /real_root folder. Anyway i think i will share the code for you to understand:
    mount_tmpfs ()
    #if [ "x${ramdisk_size}" = "x" ]; then
    ramdisk_size="25M"
    #fi
    msg -n ":: Mounting tmpfs, size=${ramdisk_size}..."
    mount -t tmpfs -o "size=${ramdisk_size}" tmpfs /tmpfs
    msg "done."
    # args: ext2 file image
    _mnt_ext2_file()
    msg "::: Adding new real_root branch: ${1}"
    /bin/modprobe -q loop max_loop=255 >/dev/null 2>&1
    mkdir -p ${2}
    if ! /bin/losetup "/dev/loop${LOOP_NUM}" ${1} > /dev/null 2>&1; then
    echo "ERROR: Cannot mount loop device /dev/loop${LOOP_NUM}"
    echo " Couldn't mount all addons"
    break
    fi
    /bin/mount -t ext2 "/dev/loop${LOOP_NUM}" ${2}
    export LOOP_NUM=$(( $LOOP_NUM + 1 ))
    run_hook ()
    export LOOP_NUM="0"
    if [ "x${from}" != "x" ]; then
    BOOT_MOUNT="/live"
    fi
    if [ ! $(ls /dev/loop*) ]; then
    echo "Creating loop device nodes."
    mknod /dev/loop0 b 7 0
    mknod /dev/loop1 b 7 1
    mknod /dev/loop2 b 7 2
    mknod /dev/loop3 b 7 3
    mknod /dev/loop4 b 7 4
    fi
    if [ -f "${BOOT_MOUNT}/initrd" ]; then
    mount_tmpfs
    mkdir -p "/tmpfs/initrd"
    _mnt_ext2_file "${BOOT_MOUNT}/initrd" "/tmpfs/initrd"
    /bin/modprobe -q squashfs >/dev/null 2>&1
    /bin/modprobe -q sqlzma >/dev/null 2>&1
    /bin/modprobe -q unlzma >/dev/null 2>&1
    /bin/modprobe -q aufs brs=1 >/dev/null 2>&1
    /bin/mount -t aufs -o nowarn_perm,br:/tmpfs=rw aufs /real_root
    /bin/mount -t aufs -o remount,add:1:/tmpfs/initrd=ro aufs /real_root
    cp -Raf /lib/modules /real_root/lib/modules
    udevpid=$(/bin/minips -C udevd -o pid=)
    [ "x${udevpid}" != "x" ] && /bin/kill -9 $udevpid 2>&1 >/dev/null
    #Yep, we're bailing out here. We don't need kinit.
    msg ":: Passing control to Archlinux Initscripts...Please Wait"
    /bin/umount /sys
    /bin/umount /proc
    exec /bin/run-init -c /dev/console /real_root /sbin/init
    fi
    Right the moment its a ext2 filesystem of initrd on the livecd. I plan on changing it to squashfs so we can save 6mb or so. I copy the kernel modules cause i don't want anything missing even though its mostly has everything the linux-live scripts. Just don't want risk crashing the system with out some module that was build slax but not in archlinux.
    Anyways i hope this helps with the development of archiso.
    EDIT: Fix a typo. tmpfs can only understand M not MB for size.

    I have just released the newer archiso-live with slax support.
    http://godane.wordpress.com/2009/01/13/ … 2-release/
    you can get the build scripts here:

    I hope this helps.

  • Af:tree with command link

    am trying some examples regards,
    af:tree with commandLink,
    here what i did:
    i achieved the af:tree with the help of some association between two tables and then i exposed in ui,
    you can see in this pics1 :
    http://www.4shared.com/photo/kGE2M1yl/pics1.html
    and then af:tree output can also seen in pics2:
    http://www.4shared.com/photo/GQTB9icb/pic2.html
    this is the code for af:tree
    <af:tree value="#{bindings.ApplBusFunSuiteView1.treeModel}"
                         var="node"
                         selectionListener="#{bindings.ApplBusFunSuiteView1.treeModel.makeCurrent}"
                         rowSelection="single" binding="#{backing_untitled1.t1}"
                         id="t1">
                  <f:facet name="nodeStamp">
                     <af:outputText value="#{node}"
                                     binding="#{backing_untitled1.ot1}" id="ot1"/>
                  </f:facet>
                </af:tree>ok thing which i did all are ok.
    but my need is :
    you may see in pics2.
    http://www.4shared.com/photo/GQTB9icb/pic2.html
    i make red mark on the on a child.
    here am going to explain my need
    in the picture you can see CRM as parent
    MKG as first child
    MKG3200 as last child.
    command link should be appeared.
    when i click that it will navigate to the corresponding page.
    for eg: if i click MKG3200 navigate to the MKG3200 page.
    how can i do this.? i need some guidance.

  • JSF compatibility with Weblogic8.1

    Hi,
    I've a question regarding JSF compatibility with Weblogic 8.1.
    I'm developing web application using JSF and Rich Faces.I'm using rich faces 3.2 and JSF 1.2. And i'm calling services which is written using JDK1.4 and deployed on weblogic8 .
    So I'm worried whether I can deploy my JSF web application on Weblogic 8.1 or not ? I don't know which version of Servlet API JSF uses,I believe if it uses 2.3 then
    it might be compatible with Weblogic8.1
    Please let me know any info about this ?
    Thanks,
    Anand

    So can I use Servlet 2.3 with JSF 1.2 at Facelets. Will it work ?
    As I've google some of the sites and it seems Weblogic 8.1 supports JEE 1.3 technologies and JEE1.3 is fully compliant with the Servlet 2.3 specification only.
    So I'm not sure if my application which has presentation layer developed using JSF/facelet could be deployed on weblogic 8.1 or not?

  • JSF Portlet with RichFaces implementation

    I am trying to build a JSF 1.1 portlet with RichFaces implementation.
    Although, the portlet gets displayed with out any errors. I do not see the RichFaces capabilities getting executed such as "A4J:support" tag is not doing an Ajax based form validation.
    Any help on this? Are there any completed PoCs on RF compatibility with JSF portlets.
    Thanks
    Rajesh

    Hello,
    Have you resolved your issue ? I am also trying to run a RichFaces-based webapp on an Oracle portal (WCI) and I have some troubles.
    If you have time to look at my problem, I created a post here Oracle JSF Bridge with JBoss Richfaces .
    Thanks

    Hallo,
    So I'm trying to use ABS to compile OpenOffice with KDE3 support so I can use the KDE file picker (the KDE4 support is really, really broken and too new to be used right now). I pulled Openoffice-base out of my ABS tree and modified the PKBUILD so that kde was enabled and I made kdelibs3 part of the dependencies.
    However, it always says "checking whether KDE is between 3.2 and 3.6... configure: error: KDE version too old or too recent, please use another version of KDE or disable KDE address book support" before failing to compile. I know it's because I'm using KDE4. Is there a way I can trick it into thinking I'm using KDE3?
    It says the path to kdelibs is /usr/lib, perhaps if I changed it to the path to kdelibs3? Where would I do that in the PKBUILD?
    Thanks a lot!

    Your build method seems ok to me. Can't really say anything about the .config, but kernel modules can have dependencies too. For example, if you choose to build ext4 as a module, it selects at least jdb2 and crc16 modules to be built as well.
