JSFL for automatically import ai file to flash?

Is there a way to use JSFL to import ai file to flash and automatically create all shapes from illustrator as MovieClip? I want all of them to be in movieclip but amount of illustrator layers are too much to handle with manual hand-tick. Is there anyway to do this?

It's "have each shape in it's own movieclip".

  • FAQ: Unable to import MP3 files in Flash Professional CS6

If you are unable to import mp3 files in Flash Professional CS6, ensure that you update QuickTime(7.7.1) and iTune(10.5.3.3) versions. This is necessary to import .mp3 files of bitrates higher than 192kbps.

    Yep that worked!
The "update" in the library would not update the content but the drag and drop worked fine.
Note: The path in the update dialog shows a relative path and after the drag and drop it shows an absolute path to the file
I also had an issue with the audio being changed from stream to event.

  • Actions not working to imported swf files in Flash Catalyst

    Hi,
I have a problem with manipulating my imported swf files (created in Flash professional) in Flash Catalyst CS5. Whenever I add any of the swf control actions to a swf file in the timeline such as 'stop', the animation ignores it and keeps replaying. I tried to add action sequence when a certain button is pressed, and also tried to create 'On application Start' and added 'stop' so that the animation stops immediately when the application opens. No matter what I do, the animation refuses to perform the actions and simply replays. The animation is a simple shape tween between 2 states with no action script attached to it. I published the animation as an swf and exported it to Flash Catalyst. Is there any suggestions whatsoever on why this is happening? Is it something to do with setting up my flash file prior to import? The only way I figured out to stop the animation from playing is adding action script to the flash file in Flash Professional however this is not what I want because I would like the animation to be controlled by components in my flash Catalyst document.
    Thanks

You can make you swf a custom component with 2 states.
The first state will be empty and rename it "OFF" the second state will have your swf file and name it ON.
Then go back to your artboard/project, add your 2 buttons ON & OFF.
For the ON button add interaction "play transition to custom component ON"
For the OFF button add interaction "play transition to custom component OFF"
    Here is an example swf_control

  • How can I import SVG file to Flash CS5.5

I want to import a .SVG file that I made in Inkscape to Flash CS5.5 how do I do this? Do I need to install some type of plugin/extension? Is there some way around it?

Actually no, that's incorrect. Flash CS5.5 can NOT import PS/EPS. I've seen a few threads mentioning this, but it's not the case (maybe older versions supported that?).
    The list of supported file formats can be found here;
    http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/kb/supported-file-formats-flash-professional.html
To import PS/EPS, you'd need to convert it first through another tool, such as Illustrator.

I am getting this error message when I try to import image files into my flash CS6 animation: "Unable to load external importer C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS6\es_ES\Configuration\Importers\PhotoshopReader.dll". I am using Windows XP SP3.
    Thanks.

The file was in the directory. We finally solved it by installing SP3 again.

  • FDM Scripting Query for last imported source file using Batch Processing

    Hi Experts,
I'm currently in the processing of automating the FDM load process on our version of FDM 9.3.3 using batch processing and the FDM Task Manager. Most of the process works fine including an email alert which notifies users of when a data load has taken place.
As part of that email alert I am trying to attach the source file that has been loaded in batch processing. I have managed to get an attachment using the following FDM Script Object of:
    "API.MaintenanceMgr.fPartLastFile(strLoc, True, False)".
But have noticed that using this only attaches the last "manually" imported file rather than the last file imported using the batch processing.
My question is: Is it possible for someone to steer me into the right direction of either a more appropriate API or if I have missed a step in my script.
Any help as always would be much appreciated.
    Cheers
    Pip

Unfortunately the batch process does not work the same way as on-line. I am assuming you are using the normal batch load and not Multiload (although the batch is simisar).
the batch file name gets recorded on the tBatchContents table, and moved to the import/batches folder under the folder for the current batch run. However, if successful the file gets deleted (and from memory does not get archived). To add the import file to the e-mail, after a successful load, i think you will need to store a copy of it prior to importing the file.

  • Import dll file into Flash 8

    Hi!
Anyone knows if it’s possible to import a dll file into
Flash, or, if flash can connect in some way to a dll file?
    Thanks in advance
    Paulo

Well object expand is what I did then copy and paste, I am not certain of the reason to crop.
this is what i got when I expanded copied and pasted. so I do not think the crop is necessary it pastes as a symbol and the symbol is clipped which I think is what you want.
But if in this case you want the stroke as well once you select anyone of the countries they have no stroke according t the tool bar proxy and so it you give it a stroke using say a swatch and then expand copy and paste you get both the fill and the stroke if you desire the stroke as well.
In the case of France and Paris once you paste those into Flash after you stroke and expand then you select both the city and the country and make that into a symbol so that they are one.
And I notice from the art you sent all you have to do is select a country expand, copy, paste and then undo the expand and you are good t go do your work.

  • Import Illustrator file into Flash

I'm using Flash CS4 and I want to import an *AI file that contains the shapes of Europe's countries. The thing is that each country has a filling of dots (blue or yellow) instead of a solid color. Here is a screenshot of my Illustrator screen:http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/6983/testedd.jpg
When I import the AI into Flash all these dots become rasterized and everything looks like squashed because, I no longer have vector dots but instead bitmaps. Example of the exported SWF: http://takeab.us/SPL_embed/index_carte.html
(try and right-click and Zoom In; you'll see how bad it looks)
So, what's the best way in importing an AI file and keeping also the vector shapes? I've tried with a version EPS and still no hope.

  • Correct Lens Profile Not Available for Exported/Imported Image Files

Any help with this would be appreciated.  I just noticed yesterday that when I have RAW (DNG) files in my LR5.2 library, I can select the correct lens profile to apply.  When I take three of those files and merge them together in Photomatix Pro they come back as a single TIFF file.  Now LR only has one lens profile available, and it is the wrong one.
This is happening with my Sony NEX-7 and Tamron 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR DI-III VC.  With the RAW files, I have a list of Tamron lenses from which to choose, and the correct one is available.  For the merged TIFF file, however, only a single Tamron lens is available for selection, and it is not the lens I used.
If anyone has any ideas about this and can get me past it, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    ~Steve

Here's my workflow for this particular situation:  After importing the original RAW files, I apply lens correction using the correct profile.  I export to another application that creates a new (TIFF) file that comes back into LR.  Even though I already applied the correction to the original files, I can see that there is a difference in distortion between the original files and the new TIFF.
If your other application is opening the Raw file directly, it will likely be disregarding either most, or all, Lightroom adjustments even if they are somehow communicated to it. It will come down to whatever independent Raw support is built into the other application.
The other application would still need to (a) "understand" about Adobe lens profiles etc, (b) "know" where to find the appropriate Adobe profile on disk, and (c) be equipped to do the specific and proprietary processing that they refer to. The same applies for all the other Adobe-proprietary processing instructions. The only software I am aware of which can do all this reliably, in partnership with LR, is Adobe Camera Raw plus Photoshop.
I've trained myself that whenever a new file is created in an application outside of LR (including PS), I always re-apply lens correction upon first returning to LR.  If I'm interpreting   the above responses correctly, I shouldn't need to re-apply lens correction if I applied it to the original files.  But again, it's not my observation that this is the case.
If your particular workflow is failing to reflect the first application of lens corrections (as well as perhaps, other specific adjustments) - then what returns to LR will not have undergone those kinds of corrections yet.
I'm also hearing that I may need to download a lens profile for this lens for a TIFF file format.  I've never needed to do that before, so perhaps I'll give that a shot.
As I understand it, Photomatix can also accept converted TIFFs or JPGs from LR - instead of Raw fles. I am skeptical that you will realise any "clear water" advantage from sending Raws rather than TIFF (or even, high quality JPG in many cases) from LR into Photomatix  - assuming the LR conversion is already optimising the images for the required purpose. You would be doing that step in an interactive environment rather than blindly via a generic converter. Such intermediate bitmaps are in my experience perfectly good candidates for HDR processing, or for exposure fusion (which I prefer - though I don't use Photomatix in particular).
Any workflow which causes LR to in effect Export suitable bitmaps that incorporate all current adjustments, will embody lens corrections as part of that. By the way, the workflow into Photoshop HDR is similarly done by way of converted bitmaps - though in that case it is ACR rather than LR which achieves these converted bitmaps, and into memory rather than into separately saved files, but the outcome is effectively the same.
The only downside is the "cleanup" is to get rid of intermediate TIFFS or JPGs afterwards. I usually put the completed "merged" image at the top of a "stack" containing the component exposures, and collapse the stack down. But the (disposable) intermediates don't get imported to LR, and by setting these to occur in a subfolder or with a distinctive name suffix, they are easily found and deleted in due course.

  • Importing psd files in flash.  Constant Artifacts

So I been trying to import a psd file in flash to animate using diifferent layers from Photoshop.  The problem is there's always artifacts around the image once it imports.  I can't seem to get rid of themwhen I need clean shapes to animate. When I go back to reclean the image in photoshop, it looks crisp and I don't see obvious artifacts spots as I do in flash.
So how does one get clean image shapes from photoshop or detect artifacts before going through the trouble of importing? Any ideas thanks...

Thanks, that's interesting to know.  I do have the file  in a slightly high res, than 72.  Even when I zoom in 200%, I don't see anything extra to clean off in the original file. Is there a way to make it more obvious, or method to tone down stray pixels in photoshop or flash.  It's still wierd that Flash would exaggerate a stray pixel, 100 fold whiling importing.

  • BUG: Unable to Import MP3 Files in Flash CS6

  • Automatically Import Updated Files Into Premiere CC

We are working on a feature animated film and the studio doing our compositing work is sending us updated hook-ups of each shot after every render.  We are then importing those shots into bins labeled with the appropriate sequence numbers into the Premiere Pro CC project panel.  It has proven to be very time consuming to manually update all of the shots in each folder and we're wondering if someone knows of an easier method or possibly a script that could automatically ingest the new files we receive and organize them into the respected folders as they're delivered to us?  This would be a huge time-saver.
    Running Premiere Pro CC 7.0
    Recent updates have been installed
Working on an a Mac Mini OSX v10.8.5".
Mostly editing with Quicktime lo-res pre-renders using the Photo-JPEG codec

This wouldn't really help because it's not just a matter of replacing the older files with the newer ones.  In every folder we are getting brand new files with new names and potentially new lengths.  Therefore it would be ideal if there was some plug-in or a script that could automatically detect any new files in the linked folders and automatically import them into Premiere.  This is a huge project with animated shots in many different stages of completion and it's extremely time-consuming to pick through these new shots and manually drag them into premiere each time.  If Premiere doesn't have a way of doing this, I feel like this could be a good feature request.

  • Importing WAV file with Flash Cue Points Premiere Pro CS6

I want to import a Japanese voice-over . WAV file which has Flash cue points marked in it so that I can clearly identify edit points on the video timeline when I import it into Premiere pro CS6.
Or is there another way of getting a voice-over artist to mark up audio so that I can clearly identify when certain words or phrases have been spoken? Trouble is, Japanese characters mean nothing to me! Usually this is not a problem with European languages like French and German, as I can easily mark up the script with a highlighter as I can follow the voice over on the supplied script, but Japanese characters mean nothing to me.
    Please help.
    Many thanks.

Premiere has a function now where you can import a clip and drag onto a timeline and it will prompt you with a message about changing the timeline settings to match your clip, (or if there is no timeline it will automatically create one that matches your clip.) This is in CC of course so you might consider upgrading. They have fixed a lot of compatibility issues from CS6 to now. If you don't want to get all of CC for 60/month then you can at least shell out 20/month on premiere. It's worth it. They've made it where you don't have to worry about 99% of all video formats. They just work.

  • Issue when importing ai files into Flash

Okay I have an Adobe Illustrator CS4 file that I am trying to import into Flash CS4.  The file is fine in illustrator, it's just when it comes into Flash that it has problems.  Namely, it doesn't render the shape correctly even though the subobject profile path is correct.  See attachment.  We're really zoomed in here, the shape itself isn't much larger than 10px square.
I've deduced that it is a scaling issue, but don't know how to get around it other than redrawing the shape again in flash.  It's not like flash has an issue with tiny elements, it seems to have an issue with elements drawn at a larger scale in ai and then scaled down, be it in ai directly or in flash after import.  There is a threshold in which it no longer wants to draw the shapes correctly anymore, as if the curve handles are being ignored and it's merely trying to draw a straight line.  Again this same file if brought in much larger renders properly, it's only when it has been scaled down previously that it becomes confused.
Anyone have any ideas on how to get around this problem?

Are you running the latest version of Flash CS4 (I believe it is 10.0.2)?  I don't have CS4, but I think I recall that something similar came up some months ago and the solution was to install the latest update for Flash CS4.

  • Text symbol for automatic insertion of file and page data

In Visio I have a footer on my wireframe pages that includes text symbols referencing data about the file (document name, last edited) and also the number of the page. These symbols automatically update as the data changes. I can do something similar in InDesign and Word.
I cannot seem to find a way to do this in Fireworks. Perhaps I just don't know what the feature is called?
    --Jim

Apologies, but you weren't particularly clear on the problems you were having in your prior post, so I was just making sure you actually found the shapes.
You didn't ask about customizing the shapes either. If you had, we might have been able to save you the time. Auto shapes have very specific editable on-canvas features. The rest is controlled under the hood by JavaScript. It's quite likely that - had you opened the JS file - you could have made some of those edits. That's the cool thing about these shapes. You CAN change things.
I don't pretend to be a JS guru, but when I opened the JSF file, I was able to find the variables for changing font color, size, fill color and whether the text automatically expands to fill the box, in few minutes.
On the canvas, I can use the Subselection tool to change the width of the box and its fill, as well as the size of the text block.  I can use the customize command for the shape itself to place each piece of information on a separate line. Will you get a warning message when you resize the rectangle? Yes, because you are altering the base parameters of an object controlled by JS. Does it have a negative impact on  the shape? No.
As for autonumbering of Pages, I isaid that this is an automatic feature in FW. You have no control over it in the current version and as I said, I do not beleive the numbering is carried over to a PDF. Beside each page name you will see a 2 digit number - that is what I was referring to.
If you do not manually name your pages, FW will also name them onthe sequence in which they were created, Page 1, Page 2 etc. FW will NOT change that name if you change the order of the pages; it sill only update the sequence number.
As you said yourself, you are new to Fireworks. Don't throw in the towel because of one negative experience, which could have been resolved with more knowledge of the software, or additional questions in the forum. And remember that Fireworks is not just a wireframing tool; it is also a design tool.
