JSP - Encoding problem? Euro currency values display become corrupted

Hi
We are having problem on our web application when trying to displaying euro currency.
A expected string such as "229 810,00 € " is displayed as "229 810,00 €".
Note that the page encoding is UTF-8, the line "<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />" is present in the header. Manually changing encoding to UTF-8 in browser did not fix the problem.
We have also noticed that when we deploy the same application in tomcat, we do not have this problem. The Euro currency is displayed correctly.
Are we missing some settings in our WebLogic Application Server that causes this problem?
thanks
Peter

Another really strange thing happened after i did a urlrewrite!!!
here is the two link:

link2: http://www3t2.irelandin1.com/about_ireland.jsp?county=Meath
Actually, link 1 will be redirected to link2. It means the actual code executed for two links are the same. And the server is the one obviously.
But, you can find the difference: B?inne shown on link2 and Binne shown on link 1

  • Jsp Encoding problem

I am getting crazy by the jsp encoding things.
    here is my code:         if (getPageContent.size()>0) {
               pageContent=getPageContent.get(0);
                  pageContent=pageContent.replaceAll("'", "'");
               //pageContent = pageContent.replaceAll("&ndash;","-");
if (pageContent.contains("Binne")) out.println("Binne");on my local machine, it works well. the FF2 just display Binne well.
But when i tested it on a web server (S1). ** just become *?* under the same FF2.
Then i tested it on another web server (S2). Displayed Binne well again under the same FF2. .
S1 and S2 use the same data. All three testing uses the same jsp code. FF2 is set to use ISO-8895-1 as Character Encoding.
    I really don't know what makes S1 show *?* instead of **.
    Appreciate any helps.

  • Euro Currency Symbol Displayed?

I am trying to show the Euro currency symbol in a calculated number field.
I tried changing the locale to English (United Kingdeom - EURO). That still displays the british pound symbol.
    Any ideas?

There is a UK Euro option in LiveCycle though. Our office does sell in Euros instead of GBP sometimes.
But what is wierd is when I use Germany or france, to show less than one Euro, it is using a comma instead of a decimal point. That is not how it is shown in our business. For example we would do.
5.32 but LiveCycle is showing it as 5,32
frustrating. Even though in the display pattern I have $z,zz9.99

  • Problems with EURO currency character

    Hi,
I'm trying to insert the EURO currency character (€) in a CHAR field from a Java client but after the insert in the field I find a ? turned upside down.
    I'm using
    - Oracle DB server 11.2.0.1.0 running with character set US7ASCII (same problem with a different Oracle server with WE8ISO8859P1 encoding) on a Linux Red Hat server
    - Java client with JDBC driver 11.2.0.1.0 (ojdbc5.jar) with JDK 5 running on Windows XP: the encoding of the JVM is CP1252.
I've googled a lot but found only solutions like "... change the encoding of the DB ...": I can't change the DB encoding.

Thank you Oradba for the explanation of the COBOL program behavior: we're going to change the DB character set (export/import seems not required, we've found an Oracle Note 257722.1 "Changing WE8ISO8859P1 to WE8ISO8859P15"). I'll mark your answer as the (most) correct.
Oviwan, NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET is AL16UTF16: I tried with an NCHAR field but I can't even store correctly accented vowels.
    Thank you very much everyone,

  • What's the available value for weblogic.jsp.encoding in web application.

    Hi,
I'm using chinese windows nt 4.0 and weblogic 5.1 sp6.When I did not set
              weblogic.jsp.encoding to GB2312 , when the jsp file contain's chinese , the
output will be error .And when I did not set it , the output is correct, but
when I use request.getParameter("SomeFormElement")(the element inputed
chinese), the return value is error.
How should I set weblogic.jsp.encoding value to satisfy all this problem?
When I set the value to ISO-8859, there is an exception:
              java.io.UnsupportedEncodingException: Charset: 'ISO-8859' not recognized,
and there is no alias for it in the weblogic.httpd.charsets property. So
What's the available value for weblogic.jsp.encoding in web application?

    hi ,
i think the best way is to create java beans ,in that bean call your EJB ,
and check the validation over there.
and make that bean scope to session.
in each and everypage try to check the session ,if it is not valid then forward to your login page...
otherwise continue to give access to him like guest

  • Euro currency symbol not displaying

    Hi
I am using oracle 11gR2 and GNU/Linux.I am using Putty to connect linux box and connect DB.one table contains all countries currency symbol.
Problem is I couldn't able to select the 'euro' currency symbol in console but in sqldeveloper it's working good.
    select symbol from gv_curr_info where curr_-cd='EURO';
I am getting '?' instead of euro symbol. in OS LANG=en_US.UTF-8 and in DB NLS_CHARECTERSET=AL32UTF8 and NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET=UTF8.
    putty also CHARACTERSET=UTF8.
any idea to solve this issue please?

First you need to establish the OS can display the euro sign correctly, at all.
Then you need to make sure your NLS_LANG environment variable has been set up correctly. This means the part behind the dot is the Oracle equivalent of your characterset.
Then you need to make sure the database can store the euro. If I recall correctly you indicated the database characterset is AL32UTF8. This means you shouldn't have any problem.
If you go for an ISO characterset you need 8859P15, as the ISO couldn't agree on changing 8859P1.
As Microsoft never adheres to any standard it is WE8MSWIN1252 for Windows databases.
Please note Oracle is looking to standardize on multi-byte charactersets, so you will be better of with AL32UTF8.
As a sidenote in a console session on Windows, NLS_LANG needs to end in .WE8PC850, or diacritical characters will not display correctly.

  • Display Currency Value of User POV for Entity & Value in Text Box (Header)

I am looking for a function in Financial Reporting Studio that operates the same as the HsCurrency function in Smart View. This would allow batch reports displaying the currency value of the User POV for Entity based on the User POV for Value. Right now I have to have Member Lists for separate reports and different currencies as I am only able to display the Value dimension in the heading of a given report. Users will not be certain of the currency if the Value dimension is <Entity Curr Total>.
I tried the HFMCurrency text function, however the entity is not defined in a Row / Column / Page reference as the entity is determined by the User's Point of View.
Is there a way to display the currency value of a User's Point of View for Entity based on the User's Point of View for Value?
Reference from Oracle Hyperion Smart View for Office, Fusion Edition, User's Guide:
    HsCurrency
Data sources: Financial Management, Hyperion Enterprise
HsCurrency retrieves the currency value of the specified dimension member. Entity and Value are the only valid members for the HsCurrency function.
    Syntax
    HsCurrency (“Connection,Entity;Value”)
    Example
In this example, HsCurrency retrieves the entity currency where the currency for the East Sales entity is USD, and the currency for the UKSales entity is GBR. The EastSales entity displays USD, and UKSales displays GBR.
    HsCurrency(“Comma”,”Entity#EastRegion.EastSales;Value#<Entity Currency>.”)
    HsCurrency(“Comma”,”Entity#EastRegion.UKSales;Value#<Entity Currency>.”)

  • Display parallel currency values with KSB1.

    Hello,
My local and CO currencies are both set to USD.  I have a hard currency of MXN.  With KSB1, if the document is entered in local currency (USD), is there a way to display the corresponding hard currency value?
If the document is posted in hard currency, I have no trouble displaying it in USD (local currency) by bringing in the field Val. in Rep. Curr.
    Thank you

    Exactly is what i said.
    Your example
    USD is Cotrolling aea currency
    MXN is Transaction currency
As the MXN is Transaction currency here, you can bale to see the values.
but normally, the MXN is Hard currency which is 3rd currency.
So, the report KOB1 shows you only
    CO Area currency
    Transaction currnncy and
Object currency, which could be your local corrnecy

  • Update header document with selected currency value in JSP

    Hi all,
I have custom dropdown box for currency in checkout JSP page.
If I change currency selection in dropdown, how can I capture this value and update currency in header.
    Venkat

    Hello Venkat
I am not sure if I got your actual query here.
Where exactly have you placed your custom Drop-down field as of now?
I guess, if you have a custom Drop-down field, you will also have its action-handlers.  Why cant you use the action handler for value selection or value change, and then pass the new currency value selected and trigger another update on the Order?
    Hope this helps.

  • HELP.....!!!!! Chinese jsp compilation problem.....

    Hi,
Could someone please help on the above mentioned?
I'm using JDeveloper 3.2.3 for my program development under Chinese windows platform. I have created a simple JSP page, which contains few static Chinese words and I have included the line
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"%>
at the top of the page. When I tried to compile it using encoding "UTF8" (under compiler option), the compiler gave me this error:
    C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.2.3\myhtml\Chinese_html\ChineseList.jsp
    Error: (0) sun.io.MalformedInputException.
Btw, when I have removed the line <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8"%> from the page and compile, I've got this error:
    C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.2.3\myhtml\Chinese_html\ChineseList.jsp
Warning: (0) ISO-8859-1 character set may not match project compiler setting.
    C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.2.3\myhtml\Chinese_html\ChineseList.java
    Error: (0) malformed input character in C:\Program Files\Oracle\JDeveloper 3.2.3\myhtml\Chinese_html\ChineseList.java.
I do appreciate your help on this. Thank you.

Here's some info one of the JSP Developers sent me:
    1. HELP.....!!!!! Chinese jsp compilation problem.....
The customer is trying to parse a document generated by
Windows's notepad. When saved in UTF-8, the byte

    2. CHINESE CHARACTER ON JSP
. SQLPLUS depends on NLS_LANG setting. If you
check the windows registry, the default of NLS_LANG
depends on the OS. The user environment is Traditional
Chinese, so does NLS_LANG. If we set NLS_LANG
to .UTF8, SQLPLUS dumps the data in UTF8, however,
the command prompt will have problem displaying them.
. For JSP, as mentioned in a previous mail:
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8" %> for all languages
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=GB2312" %> for simplified Chinese
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=Big5" %> for traditional Chinese
. When you enter Chinese characters on a browser,
the data is automatically converted to page encoding
(UTF-8 in your case) before sent back to the server.
But your receiving servlet/JSP needs to have request
    encoding set correctly.
I'm not sure about the JDeveloper environment,
but here is a simple JSP you may try to verify your
    OC4J environment:
    a.    To set up the schema:
    connect scott/tiger
    create table tab01(col varchar2(100));
    b. Edit the connect string in nls.jsp
    c. Run the nls.jsp in oc4j instance.

  • Problem getting parameter  values at the service end point

I am having problem getting parameter values at the service end point. I created service end point and this method is having 35 parameters and then i created test client file using Sun One Studio 5. but when i run this test client and make a call to service it sends wrong value to first three parameters to the service end point. I tried all the way round but it gave me same sort of problem. I change the order of parameters change the names of parameters but it didnt work. And then i started chopping of parameter from the left side. And my problem is solved when my parameter list reached to 12 from 35. So is it a bug or some problem with my configuration or some thing else.
I am using sun one studio 5 with sun one app 7. My service end point does very simple thing. It only takes out put of the parameter to the server log file. And my wsdl file seems all right. There is no conflict with the count and data type of the parameter information it contains.

I followed steps given this example. http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jsstandard/reference/docs/s1s5/stockapp.html.
If some one know what is wrong. Is it me or some thing wrong with the method I followed. But I am sure that I followed exactly the same method as it given in examples. So if some one can guide me
    Thanks

I just found that there is a bug with Sun One Studio 5. It creates faulty JSP file to test the client for the web services. With above problem I tested my web services using different developing environment such as Jdeveloper 10g. I created client stub using wsdl file generated by sun one studio. And made call to my web service and all the parameter reached perfectly at service end point. And then I used stub class created by sun one studio for the client and made the same call. And it also went well. So the problem is with the test application (JSP File) sun one creates for my web service.
This is the majore problem i faced during the development. But still there is many problem along with this which is not seriouse enough but requires attension. I would like sun developers to make sun one studio IDE simpler and handy .
