JSP file extension: other than .jsp

Is it possible with Tomcat to have a JSP file with an extension any other than .jsp? If it is what should I do to make it possible?
Please point me to the right direction.
Cheers,
Alexei

In the default web.xml the.jsp extension is mapped to the jsp servlet. You can override this or add your own mapping:
  <!-- The mapping for the JSP servlet -->
  <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>jsp</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
  </servlet-mapping>Change the url-pattern to what you want and add to the web app's web.xml.

  • Problems emailing any other file format other than a .jpg

    I am having problems emailing any other file format other than a .jpg in mac Mail in Leopard. Is anyone else having this problem?
    I have tried PDF, .tif and .doc documents, and they are small files, less than 150 kb. I have checked to ownership on the images and it says that I can read and write to them. I have also checked with my ISP and my mailbox capacity is 10 MB and was recently emptied. I am able to log into my ISP's webmail portal and send these types of attachments through there successfully, which has made me convinced that it has to do with Leopard or Mac Mail because I did not have these problems in Tiger.
    When I send a message like this, Mail says, "Sending" for a while, and then says "Cannot send message using server:(Name of my server) Sending the message content to the server failed. Select a different outgoing mail server."

    I've been sending .doc files with/without also .jpg as attachments without problems so it is possibly not a Leopard problem. I know this doesn't solve your problem though. Someone else may be able to solve the problem.

  • Limit extensions other than one specified in virtual-directory-mapping

    Hi,
    I have a virtual directory mapping
    <virtual-directory-mapping>
    <local-path>D:/folder</local-path>
    <url-pattern>/movies/*</url-pattern>
    <url-pattern>*.mov</url-pattern>
    </virtual-directory-mapping>
    However, I can still access the files with other extensions, i.e., avi, jar, txt.... Is there anything wrong with my mapping or it is supposed to be so? if it is the later, what is the point of declaring the *.mov pattern?
    Thank you very much

    hi,
    Actually i deleted all the files in work folder and deleted the context path in server.xml file which i had given yesterday.
    Already in web.xml file inside the folder..ie., in "c:\myPath\myRootDir\WEB-INF\web.xml" file i gave welcome file name like as given below..
    <welcome-file-list >
         <welcome-file >index.html</welcome-file >
    </welcome-file-list >
    i created this welcome file entry even before creating context path in server.xml file..
    Then i created again the context path in server.xml file like this
    <Context path="/myVirtualApp"
    docBase="C:/myPath/myRootDir"
         crossContext="true"
         debug="0"
         reloadable="true"
         trusted="false">
    </Context>
    i stopped and restarted the server....
    Now itz working fine......Thanx a lot Sudha for your help.......
    regards,

  • How can I save preview files to other than C: drive?

    My development machine has multiple drives and network drives. The C:/ drive is the oldest, slowest and fullest. I am using Elements, but have used Premiere over the years. Back then, we could make the program work better by off-loading files from C:. I do not see how to do so with P Elements 9.

    Go to Edit>Preferences and change the location of the program's Scratch Disks.
    I use a lot of FW-800 externals, to migrate my Projects between computers, and keep my full set of Scratch Disks on that external.
    I would NOT choose one of the networked drives, because of speed.
    Good luck,

  • Relocating virtual disks to file systems other than dom0:/OVS/running_pool

    It looks like the best approach for having multiple large file systems mounted within a domU is by:
    1.) Use VM Mgr to create dummy virtual disk (within dom0:/OVS/running_pool/domU)
    2.a) if size of dummy is large enough, cp it to a different file system within domU
    2.b) if size of dummy is too small, create a new file on different file system within domU using dd
    3.) Replace dummy virtual disk file (within dom0:/OVS...) with symbolic link that reference the new replacement file.
    Are others doing this? Is there a better way?
    Does it cause problems?
    is there a way to update VM Mgr to show the correct size if the virt disk is enlarged from the size of the original dummy virtual disk?
    Thx...

    You can use the /usr/lib/ovs/ovs-makerepo script to add additional repositories under the /OVS mount point. The script takes a block device as a parameter. For example, to create a new shared location on /dev/mapper/mpath1p1, you would run:
    # /usr/lib/ovs/ovs-makerepo /dev/mapper/mpath1p1 1 "Shared Storage"
    These repositories are then visible to Oracle VM and VM Manager. It will use the repository with the most amount of available space to create your guests for you.

  • Viewing IBR converted files in other than Content server

    Hi,
    If any image which is converted using Inbound refinery can be seen in content server with different renditions. But I am not able to see the same in Webcenter Spaces using Document Explorer.
    Is there any possible way for users to download different renditions/ different types of qualities of image in Spaces. Please let me know if this is possible in any other taksflow/ in Webcenter Portal.
    Thanks in advance for your help,
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar ,
    To be able to get specific renditions of images on another application , you will have to use the entire url for the item along with the Rendition to be specified .
    For eg :
    http://hostname:port/cs/idcplg?IdcService=GET_FILE&dDocName=<content id>&dID=<dID>&RevisionSelectionMethod=specific&Rendition=Thumbnail&allowInterrupt=1
    Hope this helps .
    Thanks,

  • Is there any way to tell "Create MP3 Version" where to create the files other than in the same folder as the songs you want to create the mp3 versions of?

    I am trying to get MP3 versions of my non DRM protected songs onto a DVD so I can import them into my cars "Music Register".
    There is no easy way to do this that I can see in Itunes . I follow this process..
    Highlight the songs I want to copy in Itunes
    Select Create MP3 version from main menu
    Open up Finder Window showing the Itunes folder with the m4a and MP3 files newly created..
    Go Up a directory or 2 to get the Artist 'folder'
    copy that folder to my external drive
    Delete the MP3 songs from the Itunes folder (I dont want duplicates showing) obviously
    Delete the M4a songs from the external drive....
    I have about 5000 songs so doing this manually is clearly a complete pain.
    I dont think you can force it to create the mp3 files anywhere other than in the current folder in itunes unless someone tells me otherwise
    More likely does anyone know of any other software to do this with less effort...
    I confess to not being an Itunes fan at all I admit but I like the Match functionality so I keep it otherwise I would cheerfully chuck it in the bin...
    Thanks in advance...

    It appears I have figured it out. You gotta go down to where it says Destination and tell Lightroom to Organize into One Folder.

  • Custom file extensions

    I am looking for a way to configure CF to respond to requests
    with extensions other than .cfm
    I found the KB
    article
    about alternate extensions for the built in web server, but would
    like to do the same on IIS.
    Example:
    http://wwwroot/aDocumentForMe.pdf
    I would like CF to process this with some conditional
    processing and return a custom PDF with <CFDOCUMENT>.
    I've tried using <cfheader name="content-disposition"
    filename="inline; aDocumentForMe.pdf"> in a normal .cfm but
    Internet Explorer seems to ignore this.
    At some point it might be nice to have CF respond with
    "calculated" .gif files also.

    Yes, thanks.
    That does work but there are still two issues left with this
    approach:
    1. It brings up an "open or save" dialog.
    2. The URL I need to distribute must end in .pdf
    I need to have ColdFusion parse the CFML in a text file saved
    with a .pdf extension just as if it were a .cfm. There is a way to
    do it with the built in web server. There must be an equivalent
    technique for IIS.
    I've tried using the "Configuration..." on the "Home
    Directory" tab of the "Web Site Properties" to add an Application
    Mapping for ".pdf" to "C:\JRun4\lib\1\jrun.dll". All that did was
    send the actual text content to the browser window.
    I also tried adding a new <servlet-mapping> to the
    web.xml file (maybe not the
    CORRECT web.xml file?)
    Any further help is appreciated.

  • Is there a quicker way to hide file extensions on multiple files.

    So, there's the real filename (visible in Terminal) and then the displayed name in Finder and some other applications such as Front Row. Well, I'm using Front Row and I would like my AVI files to display just the name of the movie - not the full filename.
    OS X allows me to change each file individually to hide the extension (either by renaming it in Finder or by checking 'hide extension' in the file's info box) and also allow the whole curtain to be pulled back via a setting in Finder's preferences. But there doesn't seem to be a way to hide the extensions of a particular bunch of files en masse.
    What I would like to know is: Is there a quicker way to do this for all my AVI files? There doesn't seem to be an Automator task that will change file properties (other than permissions). Is there a way I could do it at the command line perhaps? I'm fairly handy with Unix shell scripts and Perl - I'm just relatively new to OS X, that's all.

    The basic mechanism is to select all the files you wish to change then hold down the OPTION key and select Show Inspector from the Finder's File menu. Check the box to hide extension. This will set the preference for all selected files.
    If your files are scattered all over the place, then use the Finder's Find function to find all files with the extension attribute you want, then save the result as a Smart Folder. Then select all files in the Smart Folder you created and do the above.

  • Javadoc with suffixes other than .java

    Is it possible to use Javadoc on files that have an extension other than .java? I would like to be able to run it on my Weblogic Page Flows (.jpf)
    Thanks
    Kevin

    Well I fixed my own problem :)
    I wrote some perl to
    - run through my source directories
    - copy the .jpf files to .java
    - run javadoc
    - clean up temporary .java files
    If you're interested in the script, send me an email [email protected]

  • CS4: Is it not possible to export States to anything other than GIF?

    I see the option to "export states to files," but there's no option to choose a file format other than the pre-filled GIF format. Is there no way to export states to flattened PNGs without going through and saving out each one? If not, I'm going right back to Photoshop and layer comps.  If it matters, I'm on a mac.

    Even though I didn't ask the question, thank you for this tip, Jim. I was having a problem with gradients banding and I knew the problem was related to the images being .gifs - I just couldn't figure out where to change that.

    :D :D :D...
    My friend it'd be great idea if you can find google tutorial on TOMCAT/web application basics
    anyways coming back to your problem
    whenever,an application is deployed on tomcat a new folder is being created at the following location %CATILINA_HOME%/webapp/ with respect to application name.
    Therefore try to maintain an architecture like the one below if you programmin any web application.
    %CATILINA_HOME%/webapp/<applicationName>/(place all your .jsp files)
    -----------------%CATILINA_HOME%/webapp/<applicationName>/META_INF/(Place your mainfest files & context specific configuration files)
    -----------------%CATILINA_HOME%/webapp/<applicationName>/WEB_INF/ (Genrally used to save secured files which cannot be access directly and always make sure you prepare a web.xml file associated to the application)
    -----------------%CATILINA_HOME%/webapp/<applicationName>/WEB_INF/lib (place where all your .jar file libraries are being placed)
    -----------------%CATILINA_HOME%/webapp/<applicationName>/WEB_INF/classes (place where all your .class,resource files are being placed as the pacakage structure you have choosed in)
    If this doesnot work even if you ensuring everything's right.Reading through tutorials & speding time on finding resources by yourself would be a great idea.
    I hope there are no hard issue on this. :)
