JSP + JScript + onLoad and return
i have a return issue with a jsp as follows:

one jsp:A calls another jsp: B and is loaded into Frame1.
a click event in the jsp B in Frame1 calls another jsp C (with the target specified as Frame2) which does the following:

this jsp should onLoad load a jsp into Frame1 using the jscript function- then continue to action the java response.sendRedirect command which has a target of Frame2 as specified by jsp C.
without the java code the jsp works
BUT
with the java code the onLoad method seems to be ignored and the sendRedirect loads into Frame2.
any ideas why or how i can get both to work? i tried addding the "return" keyword but to no avail.
(using apache / tomcat)
the reason may be that the java code is executed before javascript is called because JavaScript is executed on the Client while Java is executed on the server.

Pass variables and return ResultSet from same preparedStatement
I am passing "fp" and "week_no" to a preparedStament in a class and want to return the values to my jsp page. "fp" and "week_no" are used twice. Please see below. When I run it, I get no error messages but, it doesn't display any data.

First thing U can't do this way in java. If U are executing this sort of database query, after retriving all the values, put inside Haahtable or HashMap as the application required and return it.
Otherwise execute this query at the same place where u r printing values in jsp page insted of writing it inside seperate method..It will work.

some value, of course. However, if I change my mind and decide
I want to return a string instead of an int or vice versa, I
have to rename the JSP. The first return type I chose seems to
be married to my JSP and I can't get rid of it even if I remove
it from the workspace or remove the funtion from the database.
If I rename the JSP to something else, it works of course
because it thinks this is a completely new JSP. But if I then
name it back to the original name, it still remembers my old
return type.
This very irritating and not acceptable because I can't go about
renaming JSP's which have already been defined in our design
docs.
Anybody seen this?

I am assuming you mean Java Stored Procedures by JSP and not Java
ServerPages.
This does appear to be the case, although I was able to get the
Deployment Profile wizard to recognize the new return type if I
cancelled out of JDeveloper and restarted it.
This bug appears to be fixed in JDeveloper 3.0.

How to validate and return error message
JDev 9.0.5.2 ADF UIX and Struts
Scenario:
I have a uix input page with 2 view objects (VO1-updates an entity object, VO2-sql viewobject, no entity).
I have a Save button and its event where I want to handle the validation check and then commit the data. I need to manually check the VO2 fields in java and if none of them are populated, I need to stay on the same page and return a message. If one of the fields is populated, I need to save the data in VO1 and insert the values in VO2 into a table using java.
I have been looking at the dataForwardAction class for the page but I am not sure if I should be overriding methods and which ones, as well as how to remain on the page if VO2 does not have at least 1 value populated with a message to the user.
Any help is greatly appreciated.Hmm, I believe while, ActionError.GLOBAL_ERROR is a static string variable, it is used to hold the value that identifies the global error properties. I know I add multiple errors to global errors. Regardless, instead of ActionErrors.GLOBAL_ERROR you can use your own property, such as "test". Then on your jsp page you can use this tag: <html:errors property="test"/> and it should pull the relevant action error information. The value "context.errors.password.bad" by the way refers to a value in your ApplicationResources.properties file or whatever message resource file you have designated in your struts config as default.

HELP: I need to link a PDF within PDF and be able to open and return to original PDF
I have a master PDF and have attached 7 supplemental PDF documents. I created "click here" icons and used the steps below so that the linked document would open. The problem is, once I open the supplemental PDF, it closes the original master. I would like to close the linked document and return to the master view. Is there a way to do this?
Or is there a way to do this from InDesign? I created master file in InDesign and exported as an Interactive PDF. I created the buttons and linked them to external files. This works great as long as the master PDF and the links are all in one file, but that is a pain to send to a viewer. Ideally, I want to be able to send the master PDF to a viewer and not have to send a links folder. Is there a way to embed the supplemental PDFs into the master so that they are all combined into one file AND have the ability to use buttons to call up one of the attachments, close, and return to the original?

I haven't worked extensively with Acrobat so am finding by trial and error the several ways PDFs within PDFs can be accomplished. I'm using a trial version of Acrobat Pro X and have experimented with three options.
1 - I've created a Portfolio and am impressed with what that can do, though I think it may be "overkill" for the current size of my project.
2 - I've also tried creating this project as an index but discovered that the links I'd created in the original docs didn't work when I moved the index and its contents (keeping the file structure the same). I presume this means the links are absolute? I also don't understand how it is that users search a .pdx file, or how to present what I want to be the original opening PDF of indexed docs.
3 - I've also thought to create one PDF with attached PDFs, so I'd like to have you expand on your comment about creating a master document and attaching documents to it.
The specifics of my project are these: I have created a master directory that contains approximately 120 links. Most of the links are repeated three times (users can find in the directory the item they need in three different ways: alphabetically, by application, or by module; hence each item listed once in each of three categories). I want to make that directory the "master" PDF that users open first, and then locate within that PDF the 5-8 PDF documents that contain all of the places to which the directory links. I want the "master" directory to be self-contained and completely "portable" as far as all of the documents and links are concerned so that when I make the PDF available from our website users can open the master from there or copy it and have all of the docs they need with all of the links intact. I think I prefer that all docs open in new windows, since returning to the original doesn't seem very user friendly in Acrobat (I like the tabs feature in FoxIt when multiple PDFs are open...).
I'd like an opinion about the best way to accomplish what I need to do, and am also wondering whether there are other options I am unaware of. BTW, the reason we've decided to document this whole project in PDFs rather than HTML is because this project contains a big number of tables, which do not look consistent across various browsers (i.e., most of our tables look fine in IE and Firefox, but awful in Google Chrome...). In researching my issue on the Acrobat Windows forum I see that rendering tables in Acrobat is also an issue that seems to be unresolved.

Call RFC Function Module and return 1000 records at a time
I would like to call a Remote Enabled Function Module from a non SAP system. This function module will select data from the database and return it to the calling program.
Suppose there are 100,000 records that need to be returned, but the calling module would like the data in chunks of 1000 records. Therefore the calling program would call the FM 100 times.
How do I code the function module to know on each subsequent call to grab the next chunk of 1000 records?

Here is how you can go for this issue:
1. Create one RFC function module with following parameter. These parameters are with respective of chunking logic.
Import: Package Size
Export: Total number of records
Changing: chunk count
Implement following logic:
1. First of you need to know how many chunks you need to fetch for that get the count of total number of records. This is one
time activity so you better maintain one flag import parameter will be set to 'X' only first call.
2. Get the number of chunk using total number of records / chunk size for e.g. 1000 / 100 so chunk count = 10.
3. Define internal chunk counter in function module which will be used to locate the correct chunk depending on the chunk
counter value sent from calling program.
4. Send first call with package size 100 and chunk count = 1, execute select statement and increment internal
chunk count check if chunk count = internal chunk count in current case chunk count = 1 so exit select statement and return
with first chunk.
5. Send second call with package size 100 and chunk count = 2. Execute select statement and check chunk count with internal
chunk counter, in current case it will be 1 so skip that data and go for next chunk of 100 records increment internal chunk
counter. In this case it will match with external chunk count = 2. load output table with that data and return to calling program.
6. Repeat step 4 until you reach last chunk.
You need to use SELECT...ENDSELECT with PACKAGE SIZE addition so for every loop it will return number of records mentioned in package size.

Exit out of video and return to stage frame 1
Ive manged to create a flash player that incorporates a video
using a online
tutorial with the code below.
All is working well but at the end of the video I want to
exit out of the
video and return to the stage at frame 1. The reason being
is; before a user
hits play an interface image (containing info) is displayed.
When they hit
the play button the video appears and plays over the
interface image.
problem is at the end of the video the layer containing the
image is still
covered by the video. when the video finishes I need a line
of code to exit
and return the player to the original state without the
presecence of the
video layer.

How to call an alv report from another program and return back

I am calling one abap program (Prgm B) from another program (Prgrm A).
Here, Prgm B is an ALV report. I have fetch some data from Prgem B that gets stored in an internal table.
Now, I am using below code in Prgrm A,
SUBMIT Prgrm B VIA SELECTION-SCREEN

EXPORTING LIST TO MEMORY
AND RETURN.
When Prgrm A executed, it lead me to selection screen of Prgrm B and when I click F8, it shows me the report output, In short, it doesnt return back to Prgrm A. It ends up showing me the alv report if Prgrm B even afetr using RETURN statement.
I want to get back to Prgrm A by fetching some data from Prgrm B.
Please let me know, if i am missing something.

JSP Best Practices and Oracle Report

I am writing an application that obtains information from the user using a JSP/HTML form and then submitted to a database, the JSP page is setup using JSP Best Practices in which the SQL statments, database connectivity information, and most of the Java source code in a java bean/java class. I want to use Oracle Reports to call this bean, and generate a JSP page displaying the information the user requested from the database. Would you please offer me guidance for setting this up.

I am having an issue where safari keeps crashing and returning to the home screen on an ipad1

Close Safari and all apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Using Click Functions Inside ItemRenderers Causing "Undefined Method" error
I have a tilelist which has an item renderer and the item renderer has a small button in it which intentionally should remove the specific item once the button is clicked making each item removable from the tilelist by clicking the little button on e
