Jsp name clashes with package of same name (WL5.1)

          I have the following directory structure, well not really, but anyway...
          foo.jsp
          foo/bar.jsp
          The compilation of foo.jsp will fail stating that "jsp_servlet/_foo clashes with
          package of same name".
          The problem is that you can't have a jsp and directory of the same name. Actually,
          to be specific, you can't only if that directory contains another jsp, which in
          my case it does.
          What can I do so that weblogic will allow me to have a directory and jsp with
          the same name?
          thanks,
          -Steve

          Well, adding a prefix like dir to get dir_foo only works if you
          don't have a class called dir_foo, right?
          I'm sure you can come up with other mechanims for munging names
          and I'm also sure that I can come up with examples where they
          don't work.

    I updated to Muse CC (2014.2) recently, but this morning it appeared in my Creative Cloud menu as needing to be updated again. Is that a minor upgrade with the exact same name?

    The update is for few bug fixes and will show 2014.2 in CC as the update includes hotfix : Release notes | Adobe Muse CC
    For exact version details you can check about muse from Muse menu options.
    Thanks,

  • Auto Attendant - I have two entries with the exact same name when msDS-PhoenticDisplayName set

    We want the UM attendant to speak first name lastname so I put in the msDS-PhoeneticDisplayName value by using the set-user command. After this was entered, the UM attendant will say "I have two entries with the exact same name" and speaks both
    names identically.  When I remove the value the problem goes away so I am confident this field is causing the problem.  Anyone else have this problem and solved it?

  • How to get calling jsp name?

    We are implementing iStore 12.1.3
    We have a jsp which can be called from multiple jsps. When the jsp is processed, navigation should go back to the calling jsp.
    Is there any in-built API which provides calling jsp name?
    Please advise urgently.
    Thanks in advance

    Is it a custom jsp or seeded jsp?
    you can go back to previous page programmatically, only if previous page reference is passed thru request object
    if it is seeded jsp, you will need to check if calling jsp is passing the name of page to destination page through request object.
    if it is custom jsp, introduce code like below on all the source/calling JSPs.
    <input type=hidden name="fromRef" value="<%=IBEUtil.htmlEncode("<name of page>")%>">
    and on processing page, write code to forward to fromRef.
    e.g. <jsp:forward page="<%=request.getParameter("fromRef")%>"/>

  • Hiding .jsp name in the address bar

    hello ,
    first i want to describe my problems.i have a .jsp file and i want to replace the .jsp name to another name in the address bar.
    i want to hide the .jsp name in the address bar.
    can u give an example code.then i understand more details.
    thanks

    I'll give you an example of how this can be done in Tomcat and in essence it should apply to any servlet container.
    Tomcat has a web.xml file in it's conf directory that decides the basic mappings etc for ALL webapps in this tomcat instance. Now, if you wanto to do this just for a particular webapp then edit the web.xml file for your webapp.
    If you want to call your files /something.foo all you need to do is map this extension to the jsp servlet for interpretation. Otherwise it will be treated as a text file.
    <!-- The mapping for the JSP servlet -->
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>jsp</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>*.foo</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    You can add all the mappings you want. All you're really doing is masquerading the .jsp extension.
    Hope this is what you were looking for.

  • Multiple EARs packaging the same resource adapter -- Weblogic Application S

    Hello,
    I had a question regarding JNDI and deploying multiple applications (EAR's) which package the same resource adapter running on Webloigc Application Server 9.1. I have an EAR file, ear1, which contains a resource adapter with connection factory with JNDI name say 'xyz' specified in the weblogic-ra.xml file. I have another EAR file, ear2, which again packages the same resource adapter with the same connection factory with JNDI name 'xyz'. Upon activating the 2nd EAR file, I get an exception 'javax.naming.NoPermissionException: A Resource Adapter may only be accessed from within the same application from which it was deployed.', as seen below:
    <May 8, 2006 10:29:27 AM PDT> <Warning> <Deployer> <BEA-149004> <Failures were detected while initiating distribute task for application 'JMS2JMS_eInsightweblogic2'.>

    It seems like the 2nd EAR is trying to go across and lookup the connection factory from the 1st EAR. Does weblogic bind the RA's connection factory jndi name in the global jndi and is not specific to each EAR? Is there some flag or switch I can turn on to make the JNDI specific to each EAR?
    My weblogic deployment descriptor for the ra looks like the following:

    Thanks for the reply... in my case this would be done by the active synch process so no GUI form is required. I will be getting a list of application ID for the user by LDAP AS. One i get it i will have to parse it and get the list of application user id. I am passing those ID;s to a workflow where I am forming the resource name as you mentioned
    for example:
    If i get user1#user2#user3 from AS i am separating them based on # using split and getting 3 different user id;s
    now i am forming a string with the resource name and passing it to the sub process in which i am checking out the user object, setting the user attributes and checking in the new view.
    user1#LDAP
    user2#LDAP|1
    user3#LDAP|2
    Problem ; When i run this user1 is getting created in LDAP but user2 and user3 are not. There entry is getting created in IDM.
    When I open the IDM object I get a yellow triangle (warning) and if I open the user object and hit save button IDM creates the user account on the LDAP.
    any help for further solving this problem would be appreciated.

  • Guess I do need a little help with packages after all...

    Tried figuring in this out for the past 3 hours, various searches, scenarios etc...b4 posting....
    Okay, well....just like many aspects of this language, think I've got it down, and a
    new situation comes up where I can't implement it....in this case my own packages.
    (which is frustrating, but good because teaches troubleshooting, ingranes
    things into my peanut)
    Have done it before through tutorials...but now am having an issue...here we go:
    These are very small files..... 3 classes/one main
    http://www.cadenhead.org/book/24java/chapter10.shtml
    (see bottom for direct links)
    What I did first was put them in c:\java\2\modems
    compiled them all, everthing works great.
    #2
    I deleted the class files, and put all of the source into: c:\java\2\
    #3
    I edited the first 3 files to have the very first line ot each say:
    package com.modempack;
    No other edits, just this simple copy/paste at the top of each of those files
    #4
    For the file TestModems.java the only edit made was to put the following line at the top of the file:
    import com.modempack;
    #5 Compiled the first 3 files with the command "javac -d . FILENAME.java"
    they compile fine(you have to compile Modem.java 1st)
    #6 Try to compile the TestModems.java file with the same style or even just "javac Testmodems.java" and get the following error:
    C:\java\2>javac TestModems.java
    TestModems.java:1: package com does not exist
    import com.modempack;
    ^
    TestModems.java:5: cannot access CableModem

    file does not contain class CableModem
    Please remove or make sure it appears in the correct subdirectory of the classpa
    th.
    CableModem roadRunner = new CableModem();
    ^
    2 errors
    It says package "com" does not exist" ...but it's created automatically when compiling the 1st 3 files....am at a lost.........could only think classpath issue somehow.....

    Thank you for your response once again
    (assigned u the dukies from last thread)
    Argggghhhh!!!!! / Yippie Kayay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Man oh man... HUGE headache....(wanting to studying the stuff from last post you helped on...having troubles with freaking packages SUCKS:) :) :)
    (but...will am learning, so that's good)
    Sooo....
    I put the actual ".java" files in the same directories, but that did not make a difference....
    So what I did was use the fully qualified /explicit name for each class.
    IE:
    import com.modempack;Gives the original 2 errors....that the above package does NOT exist??? wtf
    import com.modempack.*;Gives a single bad class erro
    Using either of the above and the following command:
    javac -classpath TestModems.javagives "no source files found"
    Using either of the above and the following command:
    javac -classpath c:\java\2\com\modems TestModems.javaYielded 5 errors of cannot resolve symbol
    Using: *****************************
    import com.modempack.Modem;
    import com.modempack.CableModem;
    import com.modempack.DslModem;and adding public in fron of the int[/code" variable....WORKS
    It is my understanding that
    import javax.swing.*;
    does NOT import everything with the swing library, so when thinking
    along those lines, this makes 100% sense....I just thought that with packages
    you could provide one, and everything else in the package is imported, ie: if you have a package with 500 classes in it, you wouldn't want 500 import lines....something seems like something
    must be wrong with the class files or something/classpath still or else this would work somehow???
    Well...going to go mess around somemore, just an update.
    Thank you again

  • Help with packages and classpath

    Heya,
    first off, i use textpad to compile my java, i don't do it via the command line.
    my problem is faily simple, i think. i've got a main class and i'd like it to import a custom class from a subdir.
    Main class is in
    C:\Documents and Settings\David\Desktop\java\test_gen.java
    I would like it to import
    C:\Documents and Settings\David\Desktop\java\obj_data\objects.java
    I understand that I have to declare objects.java to be a part of a package, so i head the code with: package obj_data; as i understand it, the directory in which the package to be imported resides in will be named the same as the package.
    When i import my package into test_gen.java, i import obj_data as follows:
    import obj_data.*;
    this should import objects.class and any other classes in the same directory. also import obj_data.objects.*; could be used.
    Anyway, thats my understanding of how you set up the class and package; i also understand that when the java file compiles the compiler looks at the directoy(s) indicated in the class path for the classes to import. that in mind i tried to add:
    C:\Documents and Settings\David\Desktop\java\obj_data\
    to my classpath. i did this via dos, javac -classpath "C:\Documents and Settings\David\Desktop\java\obj_data\"
    i got no error messages, so i assume it worked. however when i try to compile the main java (test_gen) i get-
    package packages does not exist
    import packages.*;
    ^
    1 error
    Tool completed with exit code 1
    can anyone give me some help please?

    This is a minimal explanation of packages.
    Assume that your programs are part of a package named myapp, which is specified by this first line in each source file:
    package myapp;
    Also assume that directory (C:\java\work\) is listed in the CLASSPATH list of directories.
    Also assume that all your source files reside in this directory structure: C:\java\work\myapp\
    Then a statement to compile your source file named aProgram.java is:
    C:\java\work\>javac myapp\aProgram.java
    Explanation:
    Compiling
    A class is in a package if there is a package statement at the top of the class.
    The source file needs to be in a subdirectory structure. The subdirectory structure must match the package statement. The top subdirectory must be in the classpath directory.
    So, you generate a directory structure C:\java\work\myapp\ which is the [classpath directory + the package subdirectory structure], and place aProgram.java in it.
    Then from the classpath directory (C:\java\work\) use the command: javac myapp\aProgram.java
    Running
    Compiling creates a file, aProgram.class in the myapp directory.
    (The following is where people tend to get lost.)
    The correct name now, as far as java is concerned, is the combination of package name and class name: myapp.aProgram (note I omit the .class) If you don't use this name, java will complain that it can't find the class.
    To run a class that's NOT part of a package, you use the command: java SomeFile (assuming that SomeFile.class is in a directory that's listed in the classpath)
    To run a class that IS part of a package, you use the command java myapp.aProgram (Note that this is analogous to the command for a class not in a package, you just use the fully qualified name)

  • How to use jsp:plugin action with type = bean

    Hi everybody,
    I'm new to JSP so it could be a stupid question but I'm wondering how can I use a jsp:plugin action with a type equal to "bean".
    Everyone is talking about type equal to applet so the browser can display this applet but if the type will be a bean so then
    does it mean I can send a javaBean class to the client?
    If yes, then can the javaBean object be executed on a client machine?
    Or maybe I'm wrong. I don't know how it works.
    Please give me a resolution.
    Thanks,
    Rafal.

    its not working.. it shows exception class not found exception.
    i have placed the jsp and applet class in the same folder. but its not working.
    jsp file path : OracleSpatial\mypackage\webmap.jsp
    applet class : OracleSpatial\mypackage\demoApplet.class
    demoApplet class inside package "mypackage".
    code inside JSP is :
    <jsp:plugin type="applet"
    code="mypackage.demoApplet.class" width = "100%" height = "100%" >
    </jsp:plugin>

    But its giving class cast exception. Please help on this..

    Do you mean "two different layers" as in separate JVMs or "two different layers" as in functional areas running within the same JVM.
    In either case, if the first class is actually semantically and functionally the same as the second (and they are always intended to be the same) then import and and use the first class in place of the second. That's beyond any question of how to get the data of the first into the second if and when you need to.
    Once you make the breakthrough and use one class instead of two I'd guess that almost solves your problem. But if you want to describe your architecture a little that would help others pin down want you're trying to do.

    I asked about this a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't get any useful responses.
    I have a simple "toy" application using a tabpanel that works fine right now. There is one tab that I will want to repeat several times, with only variations in the data in the fields (and the tab title). So, I copied the current template of that tab into an include file and I'm trying to include it with "jsp:include" from the original page, with a parameter. I've read all the suggestions about how to get jsp:include working with JSF, but it still doesn't work.

         </h:panelGrid>
    </f:subview>For more background, here's the code in the tab before I changed it to use jsp:include, and remember that this works:
    <rich:tab id="property0"
                name="#{ratingRequest.propertyList[0].propertyID}"
                label="Property: #{ratingRequest.propertyList[0].propertyID}"
                rendered="#{ratingRequest.propertyList[0].used}">
         <h:panelGrid id="property0PanelGrid" columns="3">
              <h:outputText id="propertyIDOut" value="Property ID"/>
              <h:inputText id="propertyIDIn" value="#{ratingRequest.propertyList[0].propertyID}">
                   <a4j:support id="propertyIDInSupport" event="onchange" reRender="propertyTable"/>
              </h:inputText>
              <rich:message for="propertyIDIn" showDetail="true"/>
              <h:outputText id="valueOut" value="Value"/>
              <h:inputText id="valueIn" value="#{ratingRequest.propertyList[0].value}">
                   <a4j:support id="valueInSupport" event="onchange" reRender="propertyTable"/>
              </h:inputText>
              <rich:message for="valueIn" showDetail="true"/>
         </h:panelGrid>
    </rich:tab>I don't have the source for the JSF implementation, but when I disassemble the class with the NPE, I see that the exception occurs in the ValueBindingImpl constructor that takes a Application object, and the NPE might occur because either the FacesContext or ExpressionInfoInstancePool is null (I think the former is the most likely, but I don't know why).

    Done. The results are ironically very similar to what happened with the BEA implementation, but I have a feeling this is something else, because it's failing not on the included page, but on a value binding on the main page. Perhaps I'm missing some property settings in my web.xml while using the RI.
    The entire stack trace is pretty large. I would have only included the excerpt from the root cause, but the JSF RI stack trace seems to have some interesting info up to that point. You'll see from the code at the top of the stack that either the FacesContext or the Application is null.
