JSP : No Borders for empty data cells

I'm sure this has got to be a simple problem to get around, but for some
reason the simple solution is eluding me. :(
I have a JSP page that's simply showing data. I fetch the data from the
database, place it in a few beans, then pass that to a JSP page which
displays the data in a few tables. Some of the fields queried from the
database are empty, so I'm returning empty strings. The result is that the
border for the table is not being drawn, as the cell is empty.
None of the ideas of getting around this seemed ideal:
1. Pad each table cell with a " " (in addition to whatever JSP tags are in that cell). That way, if nothing is returned from the JSP tag, the cell still has some content.
2. Manually place the " " in the bean when I'm querying the database.... that's not right.
3. Write a JSP filter to located empty table cells and insert a " ". That seems heavy handed.
4. Make each JSP tag an if statement that checks the length of the value it's displaying. If it's zero, then write " " instead of the bean value.
None of these seem ideal. Does anyone have the simply solution, which I
must be overlooking?

I need help in replacing empty transaction data fields with dimension members based on other fields in the record. For example, the "cost center" field mayl be empty in the transaction data. I want to replace the empty field with a cost center dimension member based on the "Company" fileld in "Column A'.

I have done somthing like this many times, if you need to do this when you feed data into BPC, you can do that using SQL.
I have created lookup subqueries to achive this. if you are feeding info some other way then please explain.
1 - How are you feeding in the data
2 - Whare is the lookup value resids.

You need to create an object of type CL_SALV_WD_UIE_DROPDOWN_BY_KEY, which is the UI element for dropdown by key, and set that to be your individual cell editor.
For whichever column you want a dropdown box, use the method set_cell_editor to make the editor as a dropdown box. Hope this helps.

"curved/round borders" for free standing cells and table cells

Webi 4.1 has border options such as dotted/ plan or double lined etc but is it possible to "curve" the edges of the borders in webi ?
I tired to play around with the CSS styling sheet (Cell related section of it) but couldn't figure out what needs to be changed in order to accomplish this.
Please provide feedback.

Invalid program status: Different value types for a data cell!

When executing a query from our portal, the above mentioned error occurs. When the same query is executed in the BW system from RSRT, the output is shown as it should be. What could cause this error on the portal side?
The exception also shows this: "com.sap.ip.bi.webapplications.runtime.controller.MessageException: Error while generating HTML"
Both the portal and the BW system are at Support Package Stack 10.

How do you change/adjust border width for all the cells in a table created in Pages?
Note- I am trying to figure out how to create and format tables in the latest version of the Pages app on an iPad air (iOS 8.1.1.1) . Creating tables, adding or removing borders for individual/all cells in a table seems straight forward. However the default border style seems to be a heavy black line. How do I change this?
I found the option add or remove borders for all/ individual cells in a table, however I can't find any option within style/format dialogue screens for changing colour or line thickness for table cells. Likewise I can't find any clear instructions on how to do this in apple help pages or support website
Btw- I'm assuming it is possible to customize/adjust the colour & thickness of selected lines in a table created in this app (it's fairly easy to do this word processing apps like MS Word) please let me know if this is not actually possible in Pages

Archive/trash Pages 5 and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

Check for empty table row before adding date

On the form below, when I click the green + button (far right), a new table row is created with today's date. the user can then enter more text to the right of the date. Problem is when the form is saved and reopened, the text the user enters is deleted and new today's date added because it is in the intialize event. How do I script to check and make sure each dated row is empty before adding today's date?

One option would be to use the caption area of the textfield for the date and leave the value portion free for the user to input their data:

Is there a way to add multiple borders to a single cell with one click or do I have to add one border at a time for example, one cell with borders on three sides?

I would like to know if there is a way to add multiple borders to a single cell or selection of cells in one click. At this time, if i want to add for example a top border and a bottom border to a single cell I have to do this in two steps: first select the top border, style, thickness, and color, and then next select the bottom border, style, thickness, and color. Is there a way to select the top and bottom border of a cell in one click? Clicking on the top border then holding down the command key while selecting the bottom border does not work, nor does holding down the option key, the control key, or the shift key work. Thank you for the suggestion but this did not work for my Mac. When a cell is selected for which I want borders, the entire cell is lit up. Then when I go to the border tool and select style, thickness, and color, the entire lit up cell takes on the border, that is the Outside Edges of the cell now have a border. So selecting the style, thickness, and color first doesn't work.
If I select the top border first (or any border), the drop down goes away and I can't select multiple borders - I get to choose one at a time. After selecting one border, style, thickness, and color, said border is now on the spreadsheet. Then I go back to the border selection and pick another border and the the previously selected style, thickness, and color reverts to null, so I start over with the new border style, thickness, and color. Yes, it is tedious.
The Fix would allow the user to select multiple borders, say left and right, before the drop down goes away after selecting only one border
Does it have something to do with Allow or Disallow border selection?

How to deactivate the context menu for data cells in web reports

Hello,
we would like to have the data cells (for example: values in euro) without context menu. I mean, right now, when users navigate in web reports and stop with a mouse over the data cell, text like "Context menu for 5.000 Highlighted" appears. Especially users don't want to see the exception cells with this information like
"Context menu for 6.000 critical 4".
Is it possible to deactivate this context info?

I guess you want to disable the Tooltip and not the ContextMenu. Anyway, use the table interface for it.
Have a look at paramter C_CELL_CONTENT
In Method DATA_CELL.

JTable changing borders for table cells

Hi,
I have a JTable which has columns which each represent a month for a
specified time period. For example, my table displays rows containing numeric data for March 1998 - April 2002.
I would like to create a Raised Cell for the numeric data for the first
cell in the time series and a raised cell everytime the numeric data
is under the column for January of the new year. For example,
the cell containing the data under March 1998 column should be raised and the cells containing the data for January 1999,2000,2001,2002 should be raised.
(FYI: I am using a TableModel which extends the AbstractTableModel)

You need to create a custom table cell renderer to do what you are asking. It is what actually draws the cells. Just subclass the DefaultTableCellRenderer and override the getTableCellRendererComponent() method. Look at the source for that class, and just change it to add your logic to use a different border depending on the cell to be drawn.

GridBagLayout - Question about Creating Borders for Cells

Hello Everyone,
I am implementing a table-like design using a Grid Bag Layout and I do not wish to use a J Table. Since a grid bag layout utilizes cells (rows and columns) to create its' design, I was wondering if any of you knew of a way to create borders for the cells inside of a Grid Bag Layout.
The reason I ask is because, lets say for instance cell (1, 0) may occupy a single J Label. I can easily create a border for this particular cell or label, by calling label.setBorder(). However, what if a single cell occupied two JLabels and they were sort of strangely aligned. I wouldn't be able to call setBorder on the labels anymore because that will just create two separate sets of borders. What I want to do is create a border for that particular cell.
The final result that I want it to look like is almost identical to a J Table where all the rows and columns have separating lines between all the cells. Something similar to this...

My entity A has 50,000 records.
Entity B has a domain attribute "City" from entity A.
I successfully add new records to the entity B, but after refresh I cannot see any data in the domain attribute "City" for new records (empty cels)!!! Although in the Web client (or through SSMS in table) I can see the data in "City"
attribute (e.g. code_095 {Moscow}).
If I reduce the number of records in the entity A to 20 000, then I see code_095 {Moscow} in Excel 2012 SP1 plagin for MDS.
