JSP Tag- Passing an array of string as an Attribute

Can I pass an array of String as an attribute to a JSP Tag? I read the specification but It does not say any thing about this.

I have some C code that I want to integrate with a new Java application and I need to be able to pass an array of strings to the C program and then the C program needs to be able to build an array of strings that is passed back to the Java program. I've got the first part working so that I can pass an array of strings to the C program and display them, but I can't figure out how to build the strings in C so that that when Java gets back control, it can display the strings tha were built in the C program.
Has anyone done this? Do you have some sample code?

How to handle an array of strings in LabView is impatient.
I want to VB program implemented in LabView.

Have you actually tried to right click on the according node parameter and select Create->Constant or Create-Control??
And I don't see any string array in the parameter list. That are all simple strings and the VB code in your first post clearly shows that the call to the function only indexes the first element of those arrays to be passed to the function, not the entire array.
If the function really reads arrays despite being declared as only taking strings then it is using some weirdo VB trickery and there will be no way to replicate that in LabVIEW.

Passing int arrays to strings

I'm having trouble passing an array of integers to a string and vice versa i.e. the array has
element[0] =1
element[1] =0
element[2] =0 but it can hold up to 16 elements
what I want is for this array which holds a binary number represented by ints to be represented as the string "001". Im passing the method an array then I want it to loop the length of the array and store each element as a part of the string. I then want to add the number to another number put it back in an array and return it. If anyone has any help I would appreciate it.

Array of strings in container won't pass to array of strings in LabVIEW cluster

I'm new to TestStand but am a CLD. I've taken a 3-day custom course that covered most of TestStand Core 1 and some of Core 2. I'm using TestStand 2013 and LabVIEW 2013.
I have a VI that needs an input of a cluster containing, in this order:
1D array of strings named Column_Labels
2D array of doubles named Results_Data
1D array of paths named Graphics_File_Paths
1D array of booleans named Pass_Fail
In TestStand I created a custom data type called Maxim_Results from the VI module tab in the sequence. When I reference a local (MINSYS_Reuslts) that is made from this Type I get the following error:
No corresponding subproperty in argument 'Locals.MINSYS_Results' of type 'Maxim_Results' for cluster element 'Maxim_Results.Column_Labels'
If, however, I reference each container element to each cluster element separatley there is no error:
Can anyone help me understand why this is happening?

Hey Kelly,
I just set up the situation you described, and it worked properly for me. However, I did notice that in your example where you referenced each element individually, your Column_Labels element is actually called "Column_Lables". If this was also misspelled in the LabVIEW Cluster Passing setting for the custom type, it would cause the behavior you're seeing. Could this possibly be the case?

fn:split(String, delim) where String = "1,2,3,4" and delim is ,
This method returns an Array of splited Strings. how do i get the values from this array using jsp tags. I don't wanna put java code to achive that.

The JSTL forEach tag.
In fact if all you want to do is iterate over the comma separated list, the forEach tag supports that without having to use the split function.
<c:set var="list" value="1,2,3,4"/>
<c:forEach var="num" items="${list}">
<c:out value="${num}"/>
</c:forEach>The c:forTokens method will let you do this with delimiters other than a comma, but the forEach tag works well just with the comma-delimited string.

Passing An Array trough JSP pages

Hello there, what i am trying to do here is pass an array that i have created in one.jsp to another.jsp.
So if i want to pass a single variable say Long (for example) i would do something like that:
one.jsp

session.setAttribute("pair", pairId);and to retrive it from another.jsp
Long pairId = new Long(session.getAttribute("pair").toString());Now instead of Long pairId if i create a Long[] pairArray and want to move it from one.jsp to another.jsp what should i do? Please let me know if this is possible and if not, please suggest an alternative way to go arround this problem.

I need to pass an array from one page to another, without using the query string.
Can anyone help?
I was given one suggestion about putting the array inside a Map object, then putting the map in the session.
Is there an alternative? i am struggling to find out how to use maps properly.

How do I pass a local variable as a parameter to a JSP Tag File?

I wrote a custom JSP tag file, and I want to pass a local variable to it through a parameter, like this:
<% Integer someValue = new Integer(-5); %>
<my:TestTag value="someValue"/>
This doesn't work though - the result is the string someValue. Trying to do this doesn't work either:
<% Integer someValue = new Integer(-5); %>
<my:TestTag value="someValue"/>
the value attribute ends up being null.
I know I can work arount by putting the local variable in the request attributes then using ${}, but that seems like a lot of unecessary work. Does anyone know I can just pass a local variable to the custom tag through the custom tags parameter list?

I'm far from beeing an expert, but this may be a clue (?)
Basically, the rule is: everything you want to be considerred as Java must be in a
JSP tag.
As an example, think of how you would do to pass the litteral string "someValue" otherwise. Then you may imagine other related issues...

Object passing to weblogic JSP tags

          I was wondering if I can pass a java object to a weblogic jsp tag
          for example if I select a content object with id "newsItem"

          can I pass newsItem as a variable to the next tag
          i.e. instead of writing it

          This results in an compiler error if the object is passed to Id that is
          waiting for a content instance, while if it is passed to contentid (as in
          the first
          script) then it works fine, as this is waiting for a string.
          Is it possible to pass an object to the "id" in the jsp script, and if not,
          is there a work around it that enables the content selection logic to be
          seperated from the display.

Forwarding array of String to jsp

Hi all
I want to forward an array of string to jsp page. I use the following code:
servlet:
request.setAttribute("list", list);and
jsp:
<% String[] symptomslist = (String[])request.getAttribute("symptomslist"); %>But the values in the array are null. The length is correct. Can anyone please help me in this?

I cant pass an array from JSP to Servlet

I have a JSP which creates a table when it is loaded doing a query on a database and showing the content of the result set.
The data showed are some items' names and at the end of each row there is a text field where the user can write the quantity of each item to buy.
I need to send to a servlet the name and the quantity of each item with a quantity value > 0.
This is what I think to do:
in the text field I've put an onChange event which calls a javascript function, the function inserts the item and the quantity inside an array if the quantity is > 0, removes the item if the quantity is <= 0.
The submit button calls another function which put the array in the session
session.setAttibute("daAcquistare",daAcquistare);
daAcquistare is my array created in the JSP
var daAcquistare = new Array();
Inside the servlet I don't know how to take that array since if I do like this
String[] ingrediente = new String[i*2];
HttpSession session = request.getSession();
ingrediente = session.getAttribute("daAcquistare");
I obtain "Cannot convert from Object to String[]"
How can I do to have that array inside the servlet?

I can't use the items' names to loop on the form because the form is dinamically generated, I need to use the id attribute for that and then, take the name and value in the servlet... I can only take the value, I don't know how to take the name.

The execution of the method is the following:

When the method is executed all the String parameters (whereClause, assigneeClause & sharedClause) are replaced well except the array parameter (emeGkeyArray) so the execution throws the following exception because the array is not replaced:

So the big question is if that behavior is due to a bug of I'm doing something wrong. Do someone can give me an advice about this problem because the array parameter has no problems in workshop 8.1?

I may not have an answer for you, but i am in the same boat! I am trying to pass an array to store in the database. I have 2 out of 8 columns that need to be stored as arrays. Everything saves EXEPT for the 2 arrays in question. I am using BEEHIVE with my web app. The strange thing is that i do not receive any syntax errors or runtime codes. I am still searching for an answer. If i find anything out, i will let you know.
