  • Need help on Flex JSP tag library

    I am new to Flex and currently developing portlets where I
    need to integrate Flex into JSP pages. According to various
    documents from Adobe and other online discussions, this can be done
    with Flex JSP tag library. It appears that the taglib used to be a
    separate package that you could download but no longer available (I
    was only able to find a few broken links). Instead, the library is
    now part of the LiveCycle DS product according to Adobe. However, I
    have downloaded LiveCycle DS and couldn't find the necessary taglib
    in the package. Your help will be highly appreciated.

    I'm trying to do the same thing you are. Its mentioned that
    the library is part of LifeCycle DS but I couldn't find it in there
    either.
    Here's a site I found where you can download
    FlexModule_j2ee.zip It includes some instructions too.

  • How to get the values of an Array using JSP Tags

    Hey guys,
    I need some help. I've splited a String using
    fn:split(String, delim) where String = "1,2,3,4" and delim is ,
    This method returns an Array of splited Strings. how do i get the values from this array using jsp tags. I don't wanna put java code to achive that.
    Any help would be highly appreciated
    Thanks

    The JSTL forEach tag.
    In fact if all you want to do is iterate over the comma separated list, the forEach tag supports that without having to use the split function.
    <c:set var="list" value="1,2,3,4"/>
    <c:forEach var="num" items="${list}">
      <c:out value="${num}"/>
    </c:forEach>The c:forTokens method will let you do this with delimiters other than a comma, but the forEach tag works well just with the comma-delimited string.

  • Error with this Alien-RFID-Tag-List kind of  tag format in flex 1.5

    Hi all
    I am trying to display the following XML file which i am
    getiing from RFID reader when i send the command to reader. I am
    using flex 1.5.
    <Alien-RFID-Tag-List>
    <Alien-RFID-Tag>
    <TagID>1000 0000 0000 0000</TagID>
    <DiscoveryTime>2006/07/14
    12:28:18</DiscoveryTime>
    <LastSeenTime>2006/07/14 12:28:18</LastSeenTime>
    <Antenna>0</Antenna>
    <ReadCount>98</ReadCount>
    </Alien-RFID-Tag>
    </Alien-RFID-Tag-List>
    For this I am using the following codes
    private function onResultAl(oEvent:Object):Void {
    var aResultAl:Array =
    mx.utils.ArrayUtil.toArray(oEvent.result.Alien-RFID-Tag-List.Alien-RFID-Tag);
    for(var i:Number = 0; i<aResultAl.length; i++){
    _aDPAL.addItem(aResultAl
    <mx:HTTPService id="aldt" url="aliendata.jsp"
    result="onResultAl(event)" fault="alert(event.fault.faultstring);"
    resultFormat="xml"/>
    <mx:DataGrid id="aldg" dataProvider="{_aDPAL}" width="630"

    <mx:DataGridColumn columnName="ReadCount"
    headerText="Read Time"/>
    </mx:Array>
    </mx:columns>
    </mx:DataGrid>
    But if i run then I am getting the error :There is no
    property with the name 'RFID'.
    Could anybody tell me why the compiler is ignoring after dash
    in this <Alien-RFID-Tag-List> kind of tag format?

  • Problems in developing custom JSP tags

    I have problems in debugging custom JSP tags. Sometimes the doStartTag is not called on tags but the doEndTag is called. I don't know why.
    Thanks.

    Fahr--
    A word of caution -- NetUI did not ship a JSP tag SDK in 8.x, and
    we're making no compatibility guarantees for custom JSP tags written on
    the 8.x release and future releases.
    You can accomplish the same sort of functionality with a combination
    of the <netui-data:getData> tag and JSTL 1.0. This solution would
    probably provide similar functionality and be more future-proof relative
    to JSTL and the NetUI tags currently being developed in Beehive.
    Hope that helps.

    We are in the midst of creating our own JSP tags to work with datasources.
    In an example where you would need to compare two different datasources how would you do this?
    ie.
    <prefix:isGreater dataSource="{pageflow.column1}" dataSourceToCompare="{pageFlow.column2}" />
    How would I evaluate what column2 is since the tag will only resolve one data source
    this.evaluateDataSource();
    Any pointers you can provide would be appreciated, or if there is a library of jsp tags that evaluate objects using datasources already created, that would even be better.

  • Jsp tag libraries

    hi All,
    I am receiving an error when i come to start a jsp page, it returns null pointer exception. so when I checked it is coming from the JSP tag Libraries. instead of the jsp libraries there is a null pointer exception . so any clue how to fix that ?
    thanks
    Amgad

    Yes, marika, download the Jakarta JSTL implementation, unzip it, and put it everything in its /lib directory in your WEB-INF/lib. Then you can refer to the taglib in your JSPs like this:
    <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core" %>That's all you need to do. No <taglib> in your web.xml or anything else. - MOD

  • JSP Tags problem

    I am using jsp tags and i have some text boxes defined like this:
    <html:text property="textbox"/>
    and from js i want to make some validations an i get the values from the text boxes like this: document.getElementById("textbox")
    I am testing my application from eclipse and from there it works just fine but when i try to run it under firefox document.getElementById("textbox") it doesn't work
    could some one tell me why
    thanks in advance,
    David

    View source, does the generated <input type="text" have an id of textbox? If not, then you need to change the custom tag attributes so it does (id="textbox" ?)

  • uix:table using JSP tags

    I cannot figure out how to bind a dataobject list using the <uix:table> tag. Could someone please help me with this.
    Jeff Driskell

    Do you mean that you already have a DataObjectList which you want to set as the <uix:table>'s tableData attribute? If so, I believe you have two choices:
    1. You can use a scriptable variable for the table and call setTableData() explicitly on the TableBean.
    2. You can use a scriptable variable for a dataScope and register a DataProvider which provides access to your DataObjectList. Then, you can use the tableDataBinding attribute of the <uix:table> tag to bind to your DataProvider.
    Examples of both of these techniques are provided in the "Scriptable variables" section of the "UIX JSP Tag Libraries" section of the UIX Developer's Guide.

  • JSP tags and onLoad

              I have a JSP custom tag that places a value in the HTTPRequest attribute section.
              A chunck of code within a JavaScript function called from a <BODY onLoad> statement
              in the JSP is to pick up this value. However, the onLoad() event seems to be called
              before the tag is executed and the value placed in the attribute space.
              Now the JavaScript onLoad() function should be called when the window has finished
              loading and the JSP tag is part of the window load. Has anybody else seen this sort
              of behavior?

    Hi,
              I am not sure what your problem is, however I have some suggestions:
              1) as the onload is executed at the client side I don't think it can ever really pick
              up something from a request attribute
              2) inspect the generated html code, if the onload method is reasonable
              3) generate the onload method at the latest possible point, so it can pick the needed
              values at generation time

  • Why does people use JSP Tag for their JSP page? (Urgent)

    I don't know what benifit if I am using JSP Tag.
    If anyone knows, pls give me an idea and the advantage of using JSP Tag in JSP Page!
    Thanks in advance!

    You have to read a little about JSP, JSP stands for JavaServer Pages, you can use jsp tags and you can use java code. If you dont want to use jsp tags then you should just write html file, if you just want to use java, then write java class or a servlet.
    The need for jsp arised because people were inserting html code inside a servlet class..a big no no..and a headache. JSP separate model from the view...read a little about MVC-2 model view controller pattern.
    Also read some tutorial on this website...good luck

  • F:invokeUrl jsp tag and child objects

    Hey all,
    Does anyone know if its possible to use the f:invokeUrl tag on a method in a child object? eg:
    <f:invokeUrl var="myObject.myChildObject" methodName="myMethod" />
    I've also tried:
    <f:invokeUrl var="${myObject.myChildObject}" methodName="myMethod" />
    with no luck. I've gotten the above to work using the f:invoke jsp tag.
    What I'm trying to do is put my ajax type functions in the objects that make the most sense. If I can't get this to work, I'll need to make presentation objects with all my ajax functions, create an instance and put it into scope, which I rather not do.
    Thanks,
    Graham

    Graham,
    I can't say if it will work or not, because its a better practice to leave all logic outside of the jsp (and I really don't know!). Do the logic in an activity, then only use the jsp to display the values. Keeping the logic outside is a much easier way to keep track of the data, and also re-use if necessary.
    Customarily, a 'view' object is created. FileStatusView for example, would be a BPM Object that contains all the values to be displayed in a JSP or presentation.
    Hope thats helpful!

  • JSP tag collaboration with BI Beans

    Hello!
    We need to reorganize a dimension hierarchy in runtime during presentation. It's merely a matter of formatting. We use a tag handler that reeds its body doing some operations and puts a new content for body in page.
    We tried this
    ====================
    <My:BodyReaderTag>
    <orabi:ListCombo renderAs="combo" autoSubmit="true" biList="${tagtest_dimMemList1_data}"/>
    </My:BodyReaderTag>
    ====================
    When doing this my tag grabs all content except the output from orabi:ListCombo. It seems like orabi:ListCombo does not push the JspWriter on the stack (by collaboration with orabi:BIBody tag). When, for testing purposes only, I removed the orabi:BIBody tag, I got the result I would like to get.
    How can I get the output from orabi:ListCombo tag? Or if that is not possible, where can I find detailed information so I can create my own customized tag handlers that collaborates with BI Beans,
    Thanks in advance,
    Mats

    The implementation of the <orabi:ListCombo> is based on UIX JSP tags technology. It uses an instance of oracle.cabo.ui.RenderingContext created earlier by the BIThinSession tag to do the actually rendering.
    May I ask what are you trying to do with the <my:reformatter> tag? The ListCombo tag has attributes like "styleClass" and "inlineStyle" that can be used customize the look and feel of the content it renders. Also, we provide a set of built-in styles. Have you looked into whether you can use "styleClass" or "inlineStyle" attributes to satisfy your formatting needs?
    Hope this helps,
    Keith

  • Search Engine Logic using beans & JSP's design needed.

    I am developing a web app (using JSP, tags, beans, and SQL) that stores Electric utility customers info / data (like Account, meter read info & payments etc.) for retrieval based on search criteria input by the user(by acct, meter , meter location etc..). I need some kind of search engine to search the Customer information(data nearly 3 million records) that takes less than a minute.
    Right now I have developed the search engine using JSP's, The JSP's will get the info from resultset query of beans and formatting stuff is done in JSP's. But its very slow....some times it takes 5 to 10 minutes to fetch the results. So, now we have planned to move the "search logic" from JSP's to beans, hoping this will speed up the search engine performance.
    Does anyone know where I can get search engine logic using JSP, JavaBeans? , Please let me know is there discussion on this topic / sample code / links / books anywhere ?.
    I will really appreciate the help.
    Thanks,
    Donthy

    Hi,
    I think to export the logic to the beans will not help a lot, because the .jsp and the beans are compiled together to a servlet anyway. And so, it doesn`t really matter, where the logic has been befor, after compilation it will be in the servlet.. But to have java code logic in the bean and not in the jsp is a good idea anyway. It is always nice to have as few scriptlet code as possible, makes the application more readable..
    I think you should better have a closer look to the search logic, and the database. For such huge data amount, the Oracle database would be the best. And then let the database do as many of the search work as possible, because java is a little slow, and the database will be allways faster for this things of work..
