JSPM uses incorrect EPS inbox directory

Hello,
I have a problem with implementing support packages using JSPM.
JSPM reads the inbox of the local server instead of the global EPS inbox.
I have defined the hostname alias in the hosts file. When I check in RZ10 the DIR_EPS_ROOT points to the global EPS inbox. And when I use transaction SPAM to import the ABAP stack, it reads the correct EPS inbox.
But when I use JSPM it keeps pointing to the local server instead of the global EPS inbox defined in DIR_EPS_ROOT.
Can someone help me with this?
We are using NW04S ABAP+Java running on a WIN 2003 Enterprise server.
Kind regards,
Henk

Hi
These are two different things:
What you are gettin in spam is perfectly ok.
Now in case of JSPM ,it always points to local EPS directory, you cannot use JSPM to deploy components remotely. So nothing is work with it.
You can use SPAM tp patch your abap part and JSPM to patch the java part by putting the sca's in the local EPS directory that is \usr\sap\trans\EPS\in.
In case you have any other querries revert back.

  • What is the use of EPS\out in trans directory???

What is the use of EPS\out directory?????

    Hi venkatesh,
There was once a transaction called SPADE , which existed in SAP 4.6C, however it doesn't seem to exist right now and I am not sure if there is a new transaction available anymore.
The SPADE transaction was built for creating CRT or Conflict Resolution Transports, check help.sap.com for more details.
When you created a Conflict Resolution Transport its .PAT and .ATT files used to exist in EPS/out directory.
SAP Partners could create their own Add-Ons (their own products that are built around the SAP Server) and provide CRTs to address any conflicts between support packages.
    Hope that helps.

  • Can we deletete the eps/in directory after the upgrade

    Gurus ,
we are in the process of upgrading our support packages through SAINT . we are using ECC6.0 version on Oracle AIX 64 bit .
hence for applying all the add-ons we load it from front end to \eps\in directory via SAINT  .
    But my doubt is ,
    - can we manually delete the eps\in directory after the upgrade is over  ?  because each add on are around 145 mb . and i fear accumulation of those will cause problem
-How to find the space available in eps\in directory from the GUI ?

    Hi,
You can safely delete files from EPS/in after you install them to the system, they will be in the Database so this files are not needed  any more. In fact even if they are ther, you won´t see any new SP or Add On using SAINT & SPAM unless you copy new versions to EPS/in directory.

  • How do I use a specific host directory in the ftp setup?

I am reestablishing links in CS4 to my websites after an upgrade from Vista to 7.
I use Go Daddy and the subdirectory capability. I had a difficult time setting up the ftp connection and saw in another posting that the Host directory should be left blank. This indeed worked. The problem is that I want to control access of different designers to different websites that are contained in one hosting account. When I use the correct Host directory in the Site Definition dialogue box as I did with my setup on Vista, I get the error message:
"An FTP error occurred - cannot open remote folder [FileName]/. Access denied. The file may not exist, or there could be a permission problem."
However, the file does exist. I have tried various uses of forward slashes, in front, in back, and both, without success. I'm sure there is an answer.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mark

Can you verify that your user account has access to those other accounts?  Is this a reseller account where you have accounts under your own or is this a dedicated box or VPS where the accounts can be in different directories?  Is this a Windows or Linux box
There's a few things that could be going on, but if it ends up being a permission issue Godaddy will be the only ones who can help with that.  But just an example of a path on a Unix/Linux environment, "public_html/".  There is no leading slash but there is a trailing slash in the path.  If you are connecting to a Windows server it could be slightly different, but my only experience with Windows is in a networked/VPN environment so if that is your case I am sure someone else here can help you out.

  • CDIR  is a DDIC structure  used in the IMPORT  DIRECTORY

CDIR  is a DDIC structure  used in the IMPORT  DIRECTORY statement—my question is is it usqable for all cluster databases we make indeoendently apart from INDX or just for INDX

I have no real details, but based on your question I am guessing Thunderbird does not check the drive letter only the path. so H:\Stuff and G:\Stuff would be the same thing. Try a change to the actual folder names.

  • EPM Provisioning when using an external user directory

I intend to use an external user directory, probably MSAD.
Now from what I understand provisioning is done within native directory. How do I get the users which exist in the external user directory to show up in native directory OR how do I go about provisioning users who exist in the external user directory?

I did see that link, and while I understand what needs to be done to configure the external user directory, my confusion is this:
Once the external user directory is configured, I will see the users in shared services under the section "OID" or "MSAD" in user directories. That is fine. Now I want to provision and start assigning hyperion roles such as administrator, planner etc to the users. As per the documentation, only users in native directory can be assigned provisioning. However, I seem to be able to right click on a user under MSAD and provision it.
So my confusion is, it seems that I can provision users listed under the external directory. So why does documentation say provisioning is done to users in Native directory. If that is indeed the case, then how do I get users in external directory into Native directory within Shared Services?

  • EPS/in directory

    Hi everyone!
Does anyone know if it is safe to delete all the files in the EPS/in directory after a support package has been applied?
Might it be any impact by doing that?
    Thanks in advance.
    Paulo

    Hi,
Yes, you can delete the contents of EPS/in after completing/confirming the SP Upgrade. You need to maintain free space for next upgrade in your server rite
    Feel free to revert back.

  • SAPCL Having more than one DB2 use the same trace directory.

    Hello,
Looking at the DBACOCKPIT SAP Collector settings panel, we have all of the DB2 subsystems that run in a given LPAR use the same trace directory.  (HFS path of trace directory.)
In our case, that directory is /usr/sap/saposcol/traces.  This means that we have trace files called db2cl* from all of our alert routers running on an LPAR in the same directory.  It is a little confusing, but we can handle it.  The question I have is that there is a cmds.alr file in that same directory.  The contents of that file seem to change occasionally.  At times throughout the day, the file seems to be contain information related to the five alert routers using that trace directory.  Is it OK for the contents of this file to change?
Another question I have is related to the sapcl file that is in this directory.  The timestamp on this file seems to change periodically.  Sometimes the file size changes.  Note 958252, the SAPCL FAQ says "The trace directory is required to save errors or trace files and to start the alert router. To start the alert router, the system loads the executable SAPCL from the database, saves it temporarily in the trace directory and starts it in USS."
With 5 alert routers, sharing the same trace directory, you could end up with 5 sapcl executables that get changed around based on what a particular alert router needs.
Would it be better to point each alert router to a different trace directory?
    Thanks,
    Ron Foster

    Hello,
There are two configuration parameters in transaction DBACOCKPIT -> u201CSAP Collector Settingsu201D to determine the SAPCL directories.
    HFS path of collector:
This is the directory, where the files u201CDBRM.db2cldbu201D and u201Csapdb2clu201D are located. The two files are used during installation of SAPCL and u201Ccopiedu201D into two targets:
    A) Linked into DB2 Load library to be used as the stored procedure SAPCL.
    B) Stored into a database table to be used as Alert Router.
This directory is accessed during installation only. Not during runtime.
    HFS path of trace directory:
This is the directory, where trace files are stored of the stored procedure SAPCL and the Alert Router. In addition, this is used during startup of the Alert Router. Startup of the Alert Router is done by the following steps:
    1. Unload the Alert Router executable out of the database table into the file u201Csapclu201D.
    2. Creating the Alert Router parameter file u201Ccmds.alru201D. E.g. it contains the SSID.
    3. The executable sapcl is started and the name of the Alert Router parameter file is used as the input parameter of sapcl to determine the behavior. E g.  /u/sapr3/s12run/trace/sapcl /u/sapr3/s12run/trace/cmds.alr
To keep the input parameters files separate for each SSID, it is recommended to have a trace directory for each SSID. It is also recommended to have a trace directory for each DB2 member of a data sharing group. However, this is just a recommendation. Every time, an Alert Router is stared, the files u201Csapclu201D and u201Ccmds.alru201D are recreated and overwrite the existing files. After startup of the Alert Router, the two files are no more used.
In the case, where you are using different patch levels or versions of SAPCL and you are using the same trace directory for all SSIDs, it is very likely, that you see different sizes of the file u201Csapclu201D. This is because different patch levels or versions of SAPCL have different sizes and you always see the file size of the most recent stared Alert Router.
In case, that two Alert Routers are stared at the exactly same time, it could end up in problems.
Here is an example of the contents of cmds.alr of a two way data sharing group with the SSIDs SGC1 and SGC2 with a shred directory /u/sapr3/jotrun:
    ssid=SGC1 sqlid=SAPJOT planname=CSAPCL FKTID=13 ACE=0 DBTRACE=0 TRACE=0 TRCDIR=/u/sapr3/jotrun/traceSGC1 GUID=4D0685A211780174E10080000A11C971
    ssid=SGC2 sqlid=SAPJOT planname=CSAPCL FKTID=13 ACE=0 DBTRACE=0 TRACE=0 TRCDIR=/u/sapr3/jotrun/traceSCG2 GUID=4D0685C411780174E10080000A11C971
You can see, that almost all parameters are the same, except u201Cssidu201D and u201CTRCDIRu201D. TRCDIR come from the SAP Collector Settings parameter u201CHFS path of trace directoryu201D. Please note that there is not slash between u201Ctraceu201D and u201CSGCu201D. The directory name is u201CtraceSGC1u201D and u201CtraceSGC2u201D.

  • Anyone using the Unified Inbox in a Production Environment yet?

    Hi,
I am currently assessing the different SAP Workflow Inbox options, with the Unified Inbox being the first choice.
With it being so new, it still seems to be a bit of a "Work in progress" from SAP's side.
With the BSP application (/IWPGW/TGW_UNIF_INBOX) and Gateway service (/IWPGW/TASKPROCESSING version 2) still evolving in the latest Support Packs and the UI5 Inbox API still being expanded with each release.
Not to mention the fact that the Inbox API has a very clear warning "Experimental API:Since version 1.5.2. API is not yet finished and might change completely" in the API Reference Documentation.
Just wondering if there are any SAP customers out there who are using it in a Production Environment yet?
If so I would really love to get some feedback regarding the following points:
    Performance
    Stability
    Functionality
Or any other feedback will be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brad

Thanks Jocelyn, looking forward to that webex session.
We waited patiently to upgrade to IW_PGW SP06 which contains all the improvements and latest functionality you are referring to. As it had a dependency on SAP_GWFND SP08 which was released only 2 months (Mid September) after. Where as it was available for Gateway add-on IWFND SP09 in July.
It really does contain massive improvements to the Unified Inbox with the extra features you're referring to. The /IWPGW/TASKPROCESSING version 2 Gateway service is way more complete now and the /IWPGW/TGW_UNIF_INBOX Unified Inbox BSP has been completely re-written using UI5 Components approach which has proven extremely useful in our case in order to enhance the Inbox by re-using the Unified Inbox component and not needing to modify anything SAP standard.
I'm really impressed with it so far! I'm a big fan!
    Cheers,
    Brad

There is no clear documentation available to enable custom security but IBM info center has decent documentation for LDAP based security. I would say follow the steps mentioned for IBM directory and then modify the necessary configuration parameters for OID. This should solve your issues.
