JTable - fireTableStructureChanged when window resized

I'm using a JTable to display a row of icons. The icons are a set size, so I can only fit so many on a row without scrolling. The number I can fit on a row depends on the size of the window and is calculated when the window is drawn. Is there any way I could update the table structure when the window is resized to allow the number of icons per row to change as the window size changes?

It's already in a JScrollPane, but I don't see how that would help. I want to re-lay out the table depending on the size of the parent container (which is stored in the model). Currently, if the window is resized, the columns in the table get bigger. I want to make the table add more columns instead.

  • Icons disappear in Cover Flow when window resized...

    I created a custom folder icon for my Pixelmator projects, applied it to the folder, and all looked to be perfect. However, I later discovered that when I resized the Finder window and the icon grows larger in Coverflow, my icon disappears! This seems to be the case for all of the icons I created. Is there something I'm missing? Did I do something wrong with the creation? Or is the template I'm using not working the way it's supposed to? I can post pictures or a screencast of my issue if it'd help...
    I got the template from the first post in http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=392360
    _To give you a brief idea of my creation process:_
    1. Edited template in Pixelmator (added picture on top of folder).
    2. Exported file as PNG
    3. Using IconComposer, dragged in PNG, and exported icns file
    4. Using IconDroplet, I created a usable icon
    5. Went to "Get Info" on both files and pasted new icon
    I can't figure this out. Please help!

    Finally! I'm pleased to say that I was informed of a solution today on another forum. I downloaded the program img2icns, and everything looks to be working how I want it to. Hopefully that helps you out, too! I'm marking this one 'solved.'

  • How to keep objects centered and fixed when window resized

    Hi,
    Newbie here with a question about centering.  What I'm trying to do is center the content of a website and keep the content fixed in size, but what is happening is when I move the right side of the window toward the left side of the window (i.e. contract the window to a smaller size), the items that are centered,  keep moving.  For example, if I have a menu bar, I want the menu bar area to be fixed, and stay centered when a window is resized.  I've attached images of what I'm talking about to hopefully make this more understandable.
    Below is the link I used for information regarding centering:

  • WINDOW-RESIZED and WINDOW-ACTIVATED

    The WHEN-WINDOW-RESIZED and WHEN-WINDOW-ACTIVATED
    triggers seem to be conflicting - when both of them
    should fire (focus is on one window but go on to
    resize another one), the WHEN-WINDOW-RESIZED trigger
    doesn't fire.
    Any solution or tricky workaround? Thanks in advance.

    Please, anyone?

  • Div moves down when window is resized

    Hello,
    Here's my problem:  When I resize my browser window the main div is resized up until a certain point when it just falls below all of the other content.
    How can I prevent this from happening?  I have both the top and bottom div's set to auto width, so I can't figure out whats going wrong.

    /* Tips for sidebars:
    1. Since we are working in percentages, it's best not to use side padding on the sidebars. It will be added to the width for standards compliant browsers creating an unknown actual width.
    2. Space between the side of the div and the elements within it can be created by placing a left and right margin on those elements as seen in the ".thrColLiqHdr #sidebar1 p" rule.
    3. Since Explorer calculates widths after the parent element is rendered, you may occasionally run into unexplained bugs with percentage-based columns. If you need more predictable results, you may choose to change to pixel sized columns.

    That's one of the problems with liquid (%) based layouts. In your default.css file, replace the top 2o selector rules with the following:
    body {
        font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
        font-size: 12px;
        color: #333;
        margin:0;
        padding:0;
        background: url(images/main-right.png) repeat-y;
    .thrColLiqHdr #container {
        width: 95%;
       min-width: 870px; /**keep page from collapsing**/
        margin:0 auto;
        background: url(/images/halftone1.png);

  • Illustrator Application Window Resizes When Opening Smart Object from PSD

    Hi All, I've taken a vector graphic created in AI CS4 and pasted it into my PSD CS4 doc as a smart object. When the original AI file was created the application window was set as I preferred it, filling my screen. When I double click the Smart Object in PSD to edit it back in Illy, the window that contains the application has been switched off of the fill screen mode and is quite a bit smaller. I know it's small but now I have to click the maximize icon in the application bar to get Illy to fill the screen again. It wouldn't be so bad once, but the application window resizes itself every time I punch back into the smart object from PSD.
    Any ideas on how I can get the AI environment from switching around on its own??
    Win 7, CS4, all patches current, Dual 22" montiors
    thnx,
    jeff

    I just want to point out that when you open the smart object of course it is not the same file as the original but an embedded copy of it.
    That might also have something to do with this issue and might also be a photoshop issue with the smart object and one reason might be that Photoshop is see the image as resolution and Illustrator sees it as a dimension and the teams might be able to do something about this but might not actually be aware of it unless you file a report even if it is not a bug it would then be a feature request.
    They might not be able to do anything about it but then there might be a clever engineer with an idea, so it might be worth the report.

    Hi.
    When this happens, please press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC and see how much RAM and CPU Firefox is using. If they're sky high, then... Well, that kind of issues are, unfortunately, more common and the we'd like. Thankfully, 99% of the cases are very easy to solve. However, you do need to diagnose what your exact problem is. Do this:
    #run Firefox in safe-mode to disable all extensions and plugins. If this fixes your issues, be them with RAM or CPU usage, then you know it's a problem with plugins or extensions. Proceed to number 2. If safe-mode doesn't fix the issues, then read bellow, after this list;
    #update all extensions and plugins in your Firefox. If this doesn't solve the issues, proceed to the following number;
    #disable all extensions and plugins in your Firefox (not running safe-mode). Being certain that, as in safe-mode, the problems you're having have gone away, enable one plugin at a time. You should be certain that you WANT that plugin to be enabled, so keep your overall number of plugins as low as possible. When you encounter the problems, you know you've found a problematic plugin, so disable it for good. Keep enabling all plugins (except problematic ones) until you've gone through them all.
    #enable one extension at a time. Again, be certain that you WANT that extension to be enabled, so keep your overall number of extensions as low as possible. When you encounter the problems, you know you've found a problematic extension, so disable it for good. Keep enabling all your extensions (except problematic ones) until you've gone through them all;
    #you're done! You've fixed your problems with problematic add-ons.
    Ok, if disabling all extensions and plugins through safe-mode didn't work to bring Firefox's CPU and RAM usage to good levels, then you have different issue. The most likely scenario is that you have a third party software running on your computer that is messing with Firefox. Do as follows:
    #do a virus/malware check on your computer. If this doesn't fix it, proceed;
    #disable all software running in the background that you don't want to have running in the background (in windows, this is done by pressing WINDOWS+R in your keyboard, typing "msconfig" (without the commas) and pressing enter. Now, under the "Startup" tab, you can uncheck the software you don't want, and reboot your system for changes to take effect. If you're unsure of what software you want running, ask someone with more experience). If this doesn't fix you issues with Firefox, proceed;
    #check your firewall/antivirus/security suite for enabled functions/features that you don't want and/or may be conflicting with Firefox. You'll find that these features are most likely tied to Internet Security features, such as link scanners or URL checkers and the like. If you're not sure they are conflicting with Firefox, simply try to disable to see whether or not that's true. As long as you don't browse the web with your antivirus completely off and your firewall completely turned off, there should be no problems. If this doesn't solve the issues, proceed to the following number;
    #check your operating system security options, mainly advanced options that are not configured by default. While it's very unlikely that this may be the cause of the problem (after all, it's the last item on the list), it's remotely possible. If this doesn't do it, I'm out of ideas. Except make sure you've followed my instructions correctly.

  • Windows in Photoshop CS2 doesn't show outline when being resized

    When I resize the photo image, I loose the outline which matches the workspace color. How to I change the outline color?

    Do you have the nView Desktop Manager enabled?
    (right click on your desktop to see if nView Desktop Manager is listed)
    If you do you might try turning it off, and then restarting windows xp and see if that makes a difference.
    If that's not it or you don't have nView, then perhaps some other utility on your system is modifying the windows behaviour.
    Added:
    If you have an older display driver it might be under NVIDIA Display when you right click on the desktop.

  • Terminal window resizes when opening new tab with cmd-'t'

    The simplest way to re-create this issue is as follows:
    -open new Terminal window (def 80x24)
    -resize the Terminal window by dragging the lower right corner (125x32)
    -cmd-'t'
    -resize the Terminal window (80x24)
    -cmd-'t'
    After the final command the Terminal window resizes itself back to 125x32.
    This only appears to increase the size of the Terminal window; this does not occur when shrinking it. I'd really like to be able to disable this resizing "feature".
    Thank you in advance.

    I'm not running 10.6.x yet, so someone else will have to step in.

  • Question about hearing when a window resizes.

    I have a class that extends JLabel on the LayeredPane of a JFrame and when I resize the JFrame to the point that I no longer see the JLabel, the label does not redraw. I am currently overriding the paintComponent of JLabel but when the resize puts my Label outside the window, it doesn't show up. Any help would be appreciated.

    Are you familiar with the premise of Occam's Razor?
    Why is it important that the lable be drawn when it can't be seen by the user anyway?
    The simple solution would be to set the minimum size of the container such that it's always visible, that way it always repaints when the container repaints.
    Something you might try if you really want to, is to put all of the screen elements into a scroll pane that way, when the frame resizes to smaller than the display area, you'll have scroll bars so the user can move the view area (snip). I don't know off hand whether the paint of the label would be called if the label wasn't currently in view though my first thought is probably that it wouldn't be called until it entered the view area.
    It would take some experimentation to find out.
    Good luck

  • Entourage crashes when I resize the window

    I am having a variety of problems with Microsoft software crashing on my Macbook. Entourage sometimes crashes when I resize the window. Word also crashes sporadically (see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2149785) and I wonder if there is a connection between these two issues - something related to mouse movement or window management. Problems are only with Microsoft software (no surprise). I am running the latest version of Office.

    You should post questions regarding Entourage on Microsoft's own forums for their Mac software, as Apple discussions only provide support for Apple products

  • Scrolling and windows resizing

    Is there a way to turn off the feature where if you scroll up or down with your mouse positioned over a windows title bar it resizes the window. This "feature" works with both a standard mouse using a scrollwheel and also when using a touchpad with two finger scrolling.

    The only third party program that I use which modifies the mouse is Sizeup and I have rigorously gone through its setting to determine if it was causing this behaviour. Also the behavior persists even when I shut down sizeup so I don't think it is the cause.
    edit:
    I would also add that this behaviour only appeared after I upgraded to 10.8. While I do have a lot of third party programs running and alot of them were updated when mountain lion was released so it is theoretically possible that this is behaviour is comeing from an external source I have no idea why any of the other programs I have running would affect window resizing.

  • Crashes on window resize

    I am a loyal user of logic for 8 years now. yes I'm posting about an issue where logic crashes (as in: freezes for 30 seconds then closes even if other apps are reWired to it)
    It does this SOMETIMES, when resizing any window in logic..
    it says: UNEFINED RECURSION ERROR and then you know you'll be rebooting your mac g5 (tested on g4 too)
    I sit here thinking of ten years of buying updates.
    and by PURE LUCK alone, I buy every update hoping that certain issues will be fixed. Most are not.
    On a mac there are two ways a window can be act when being resized:
    1 - as you drag the re-sizer corner of the window, you see only a dotted outline of the window, then when you let go, the window resizes.
    2 - as you drag, the entire contents of the window moves as you drag.
    #2 causes crashes. #1 is fast and quick.
    Mr. Moderator, you can delete this post as expected. But you do know as well as I do, these guys never do a user request.
    I mean my $200 alone is enough to pay one developer to fix things like this.
    Nevermind $200 from 2 million people!
    What are you doing with your user requests and your users money?

    Might try removing your media files associated with the project... put them in another folder, or disconnect the fw drive that holds them...?
    Do other project files do the same or just this one?

  • Pop up window resize disabled not working in fire fox (Linux)

    Hi all I am using Dreamweaver 8, with behavior I made a pop
    up window and disabled window resizing. It worked nicely in my
    windows XP system (I checked it in IE and Fire fox). But it is not
    working in Linux machine having same version of Fire fox
    browser(but worked correctly in IE on the same machine). In Linux
    machine we can simply resize the window.
    Does anybody give a solution to fix this problem?

    Post a link to the page, please.
    Why disable window resizing? What about those whose screen
    won't display
    the size you have picked?
