JTAPI media

Our objective:
Recording calls coming to specific terminal.
Problem:
We can’t cast Provider object to MediaProvider object.
Is Cisco Call Manager support this casting or need certain configuration.

hello!
I'm developing a system with the same idea discussed here.
I have already registered the CTI Port but I cannot receive any CallCtlConnEv from that address. I just only receive those events if I only add a CallObserver to the IP Phone from where I'm dialing and when I try to accept the call, the cti's address is out of service. If I add a CallObserver to the cti's address, I cannot receive the CallCtlConnEv from the cti's address.
The application in JMF should be running in the same server as the JTAPI server? Or it can be running on the IP which address is the one where I configured when registering the cti port?
My code is on the attachments. I didn't put the addressObserver. Could you take a look at it and see what's wrong?
Thank you!

  • JTAPI and Firewall

    Do we need to open specific port to allow JTAPI client outside of corporate firewall to communicate with CUCM?

    it depends on where your application server sits.. if it's in the voice zone you shouldn't need any changes, but if not, you definitely need to open ports. The ports needed are mentioned in the JTAPI developer guide (it's a single one.. and another one if you use secure JTAPI). Of course, if you want to do media (cti ports, cti routepoints) then you'll need a whole bunch of ports (the JTAPI port plus whatever ports the phones use.. I don't have the link handy but it's part of the callmanager documentation.. a single PDF that lists all ports the callmanager ever uses, including the JTAPI port).

  • JTAPI Call on CTI routepoint cannot be answered apparently

    Hi
    I have a CTI route point and I'd like to do the following:
    - if a phone calls this CTI route point it accepts and answers the call
    - after answering it starts to play a WAV media via RTP
    I've studied JTAPI API and some discussions (e.g. https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/1251151#1251151) and followed it.
    1. I add a CallControlCallObserver as CallObserver to Address of RP
    2. I add a TerminalObserver to RP terminal (which is a CiscoRouteTerminal)
    3. I catch CallCtlConnOfferedEv and accept call.
    4. I catch  CallCtlTermConnRingingEv and call answer() on terminal connection.
    5. CiscoMediaOpenLogicalChannelEv and CiscoRTPOutputStartedEv will be generated well and I start to push media.
    Apparently everything is fine, I can hear media on caller phone BUT caller phone won't stop ringing (I can hear media from RP and ringing at the same time) and caller phone will break the call in some seconds.
    What can be the problem?

    Hi Pedro Schaeffer1,
    I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with the Continuity Phone Calls feature on your devices. If you are still having issues making or receiving calls across your devices, you may want to double check the settings and configuration outlined in the following article (under the Phone calls section):

  • Cisco media subsystem - im totally confused. Please shed light :)

    I have been googling on Cisco Media subsystem. Everywhere I see the below statement.
    Cisco Media
    Configures Cisco Media Termination (CMT) dialog control groups,                     which can be used to handle simple Dual Tone Multifrequency (DTMF)-based dialog                     interactions with customers
    Im confused. What exactly is the role of this subsystem.
    - In call control group configuration, I see that there is an option to enable it or not. So Im assuming that it is not mandatory to configure it.
    a) So in my script If I have a menu step, obv we use DTMF to make the seletion in menu step. So does CMT dialogue channels come into play in that part? What exactly is the role of this subsystem.
    b) When i use another applications like MRTS or TTS, does this media subsystem has any role?
    c) What are the scenarios in which this subsystem kick in. What is the role. When all can i disable the Media Termination support in CC group.
    Please give me a detailed description. Cisco documents are just beating around the bush. Your help will be highly appreciated.

    Have you read the UCCX Admin Guide section on this topic?  It does a pretty decent job of explaining it.
    Your assumption here is incorrect.  The radio button simply indicates whether or not you want a new CMG to be created to match up with (I.e., have the same number of channels as there are ports) this CCG.  A "yes" means it will create it, and a "no" means it will not.  Regardless of what you select here, the CMG is actually assigned to the Triggers, and will always default to the Default CMG.  It's always a good practice to select no here, and then define your own CMG with a 10% overhead.  The reason why is explained in the Admin Guide link provided above.
    Nirmal Issac wrote:a) So in my script If I have a menu step, obv we use DTMF to make the seletion in menu step. So does CMT dialogue channels come into play in that part? What exactly is the role of this subsystem.
    Correct.  It's role is explained in the Admin Guide link above.
    Nirmal Issac wrote:b) When i use another applications like MRTS or TTS, does this media subsystem has any role?
    Yes.  You would create a new CMG for thos applications, and you do not want to assign them to every trigger.  Only those who need it.  The reason is, an ASR license is consumed for the duration of the call using that CMG.  TTS on the other hand releases the license as soon as the Prompt has finished playing.
    Nirmal Issac wrote:c) What are the scenarios in which this subsystem kick in. What is the role. When all can i disable the Media Termination support in CC group.
    It kicks in for every call to your JTAPI triggers.  HTTP triggers on the other hand do not need CMG's.  You cannot disable the support of CMG in the CCG.  This goes back to your misunderstanding of the Yes/No radio button in the CCG configuration.  Also, you cannot have a trigger with 0 CMG's configured.  The AppAdmin page will throw an error telling you that you need atleast one.  Therefore, you cannot use UCCX inbound JTAPI triggers without a CMG.  They are a requirement.
    Nirmal Issac wrote:Please give me a detailed description. Cisco documents are just beating around the bush. Your help will be highly appreciated.
    This is laid out quite nicely in the Admin Guide link provided above.
    In summary: CMG's are for media termination support (E.g., DTMF reception [I.e., Get Digit String Step] and transmission [I.e., Send Digits Step]) for your JTAPI triggers.  You should always manually create a corresponding CMG for your CCG's, and with 10% more channels than your CCG has in ports.  E.g., CCG has 100 ports, your CMG should have 110 channels.  Configuring which CMG your Trigger uses is an extra step: click Show More, remove the Default, Add the new, click save.

  • .... Lost in jTapi  :  (

    Hi!
    Just started to look at the jTapi API. I want to write an IVR app via my modem.
    Do I understand correctly that the Media Service implementation requires an "interface driver"ie: "jTapi driver" supplied from the vendor of the modem currently installed in my computer?
    .... is there no generic jTapi driver that "searches" for my modem and installs the required driver?
    Thanks!

    A few more details would be helpful. When was the document created and deleted in relation to when your backups happen in Time Machine? Did you move the document so it might be in a different location in Time Machine?
    There are programs and services that can recover lost files, but the more you use the machine after having deleted a file, the less likely you are to be able to recover it. I've never used them, but products like FileSalvage from SubRosa and DataRescue from Prosoft Engineering might be able to get the file back.

  • Jtapi IVR prompt management

    I am currently trying to create a prompt management app. I want to be able to play and record prompts via a CTI port. I have browsed the forums and looked at the jtapi dev doc and apparently missing a critical piece.
    what method(s) do I invoke using jtapi to allow for the cti port to accept a g711 stream?
    My big problem is not so much IP Phone calls to a CTI port but calls coming from an MGCP or H323 gateway that hit the application. I guess I am not understanding how I can stream RTP to a PSTN connection?
    I have seen in the forum where one can use the avtransmit2.java posted by Steiner (very cool sir). So this assumably will stream a designated wave file over g711 to an IP address. How do I make a CTI port "listen" to this stream thus playing it for the caller.

    You application needs to register with the media terminal (which is what the CTI port is), if I remember correctly. You application will then be alerted to any calls to the port and be able to set RTP parameters to the media terminal, specifying itself as the media source/sink. message flows at: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_programming_usage_guide_chapter09186a00806f093f.html#wp1016822

  • JMF+JTAPI, JMF+COMMAPI or JMF+ibm's J323

    Hi all,
    I've tried and tried and tried... to use JMF and COMMAPI to read data from a modem. It's human voice data. I can read from an InputStream the bytes that modem receives so, I THINK that I'm getting the voice in the InputStream as bytes (please corret me if I'm wrong). Know the proble is to transform this InputStream in a DataSource. If tried with the example of jmf's page (LiveStream and DataSource), but I have no idea about converting the InputStream to DataSource, and 'play' the InputStream by the phones. Then I tried to use XTAPI implementation of JTAPI... but It was impossible to get the next code working...
    JtapiPeer peer = JtapiPeerFactory.getJtapiPeer(
    "net.xtapi.XJtapiPeer");
    myprovider = peer.getProvider("Serial");
    or(
    myprovider =peer.getProvider"net.xtapi.serviceProvider.OpenH323");
    Terminal[] t = myprovider.getTerminals();
    becouse there was no way the a Provider...
    Then I saw that some people were talking about using ibm's J323 and I tried with, becouse they said that JTAPI was not :
    JtapiPeer peer = JtapiPeerFactory.getJtapiPeer("com.ibm.telephony.mm.MM_JtapiPeer");
    myprovider = peer.getProvider("H.323 Endpoint;login=223.254.254.94");
    Terminal[] t = myprovider.getTerminals();
    Using this I got the Provider, but, the getTerminals method return an empty array...
    I'm DESPERADO, i GIVE YOU 10 DUKES if you help me.
    I'm loosing a lot of time in this and my boss thinks I'm touching my nose in stead of working on this, becouse at this moment I have NOTHING.

    Two other places to find out about J323:
    http://www.zurich.ibm.com/csc/distribsys/j323/j323-2.html
    ---start quote---
    Can I use the IBM J323 Engine to control my modem?
    Can I use the IBM J323 Engine send a fax?
    No. The IBM J323 Engine is an implementation of the H.323 version 2 protocol as defined by the ITU-T (International Telecommunication Union). The H.323 protocol is a Voice over IP protocol. It is used to establish phone calls over an IP network (ex: internet). Therefore the J323 Engine will only communicate with H.323 endpoints. A H.323 endpoint can be a terminal (ex: Microsoft NetMeeting) or a gateway (to connect to the PSTN - Public Switched Telephony Netwok - which is the "normal" telephony network).
    ---end quote---
    Also, I when I run J323 demo-media.bat, the "-localaddr" argument seems to map to the "login=" part of the provider string, but this devolves to simply the string used to identify you when you contact other H.323 peers. The trace I get is:
    C:\Program Files\j323\bin>C:\Java\jdk\j2sdk1.4.2\bin\java -Djmf.package=com.ibm
    .media.teljmf.TjTmProvider -Dh323.endpoint.timer.factor=3 com.ibm.ct.cphone.Main
    -trace 1 -mtrace 2 -sdfile demo.sd -locaddr "<[email protected]>"
    CPhone: Obtaining JtapiPeer "null"...
    CPhone: Obtaining Provider "H.323 Endpoint;login=<[email protected]>"...
    Setting h323.endpoint.timer.factor to '3'

  • Play a Prompt with Jtapi

    Hi everyone,
    I am trying to implement something with JTAPI that it functions like an IVR,
    I need to play something when a incoming call arrive.
    My Call Manager have the version 4.2(3).
    To do that I have done this:
    TerminalConnection tconn = null;
    MediaTerminalConnection mtc = null;
    int state = 0;
    if (callEv instanceof TermConnCreatedEv) {
    tconn = ((TermConnCreatedEv)callEv).getTerminalConnection();
    mtc = (MediaTerminalConnection)tconn;
    System.out.println("Terminal Connection Created...");
    try {
    mtc.usePlayURL(new URL("file:./audio/prompt.au"));
    } catch (Exception excp) {
    excp.printStackTrace();
    but this code cause an exception that says
    com.cisco.jtapi.MethodNotSupportedExceptionImpl: Unimplemented
    I don't know if I need some codec, or if this is not the class that I should
    be using. I read something that tells that MediaTerminalConnection has been
    substituted by Media Service.
    Can anybody help me with this, give me some ideas or samples please.
    Thank you
    Ana

    If you check the JTAPI doc, it has a list of supported and unsupported JTAPI methods. Unfortuantely, media playback and recording are not amongst the supported features.
    So the solution here would be to look into a G.711 streaming. I have posted a sample app in this very forum in the past (don't ask for it.. please use the search engine), and combining RTP streaming with the media capabilities of a CTI Port via JTAPI you can get to where you need to go. In fact, several people have reported that they've successfully built such applications based on the RTP streamer.

  • Filename in Media Encoder CC

    Hello there ;-)
    In After Effect CC u can render picture sequences using a filname like: "Project_[#####].jpg". The [#####] is replaced by the framenumber when rendering. When i render a picture sequenc in Media Encoder CC i Don´t have that oportunity. It allways starts with a Number like 000001. My Question - is it possible to change that in the encoder? So that i have the Frame number in the filename like in After Effect CC? If yes - how? I haven´t find anything!
    THANX for your help!

    I have this issue too. It makes After effects impossible to use with media encoder.  What we want is the actual frame number from After effects
    Example
    I have a 5000 frame AE export.
    I can export the lot from AME
    Render0000.png - Render5000.png
    Client makes a change to Frames 4500-5000
    Try and render Work area to AME
    Result = Render0001.png -  Render0499.png
    The only way to keep file numbers is to use AE's render Queue which seem to be way slower than AME?

  • How do i share media (music and videos) between all of my devices?

    i currently have (and attempt to use as much as possible) the following devices:  macbook pro 15", ipad 4, iphone 6 plus 64 GB, and appletv 2.
    i would love it if these devices would talk to each other correctly.  first came the macbook, and i took an internal 2 tb drive cannibalized from my previous pc and transformed it into an external.  that drive is desinated as my media drive, it includes all of my video and music.  the macbook and the appletv talk to each other flawlessly.  every music and video file on that drive is accesible to me using apple tv.
    next up is the ipad, which includes some of my videos (movies), but no tv shows.  music also does not show up, only options to buy from the store.  but i already have a music library that includes many songs downloaded from the store that dont show up, only some stupid U2 album that i never downloaded.
    finally, we get to the iphone, which i just got.  i get no shared music or videos here at all.
    by the way, all settings are set to share with each device in settings and itunes.  each device talks to one another.  i know this because there is some level of sharing on each device (ie ipad gets videos, iphone shares spreadsheets and other productivity files.  appletv shares everything.  i now want to sync these devices so that they can share the same data while on the same home network.  i should be able to do this, right?
    also, i know that i can airdrop/transfer but thats not really what im looking to do atm.
    thanks

    im more than a little disappointed here.  can anyone recommend another forum please?

  • Cannot send email from iPad & iPhone with Virgin Media

    I cannot send emails from my iPad and iPhone. I have a virginmedia.com address and I can receive but just cannot send. A message keeps saying the smpt settings are wrong. However, I have followed the tutorial on Virgin Media web site (this is how I managed to start receiving emails on my devices) but still not sending. I have looked at the settings in my MacBook Pro and all seem to be correct. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? I had a similar problem when I loaded Microsoft Office 365 for Mac; I had to end up calling Virgin Media (useless) and then Microsoft (useful). Anyhow I have looked at the settings on the Mac and they all seem to correspond with the ipad and iphone but still cannot send emails. V V Frustrated.
    Thanks for reading.

    Then make sure that the settings are correct in your email account.
    Check the outgoing mail server setting. Make sure that your username and password are in there.
    Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Your email account>Account>Outgoing mail server - tap the server name next to SMTP and check in the primary server and make sure your username and password are entered and correct - even if it says that the password is optional.

  • Media query does not work on my iPad (Was: media query question)

    I am coding a site for mobile/tablet/desktop and while my desktop and iphone respond to the CSS, my ipad does not. The changes I make to the tablet in dreamweaver take, but when they go live the ipad does not respond. Obviously my media query must be incorrect but I cannot figure out the issue. Any help is much appreciated.
    http://gbetza.mydomain.com/webservice2/test/KathrynFee/2014/profile.html
    Thank you.

    Yes.  That's inevitable because smart phones are getting bigger while tablets are getting smaller & bigger.  There is always going to be some crossover.   Think of it this way, when a tablet behaves like a mobile device, it takes on the mobile layout.  When tablet behaves more like a desktop, it takes the desktop layout.
    Similarly, a wide smartphone in landscape mode is apt to look like your tablet layout.
    See FluidGrid Example below:
    http://alt-web.com/FluidGrid/Fluid2.html
    Desktop = 4-col layout
    Tablet = 2-col layout
    Mobile = 1-col layout
    For illustration purposes, I added a thick gold border to the Tablet layout only.
    /* Tablet Layout: 481px to 768px. Inherits styles from: Mobile Layout. */
    @media only screen and (min-width: 481px) and (max-width:768px) {
    .gridContainer {width: 92%; border: 16px solid gold}

  • How can I move my iTunes media folder from users/shared back to one user account?

    I shared my music with multiple users on one macbook pro.
    Like on the Apple support discussions described I changed the iTunes media folder to users/shared. My question is how to reverse that action? Once I reset the media folder location it tells me /users/name/music/itunes/itunes media, that would be right but the files remain in users/shared?

    Tell us what the underlying objective is in all this.  You came here asking how to move a media folder but now we're getting into user libraries and moving things back and forth to their original locations. Why move it in the first place if you are just putting it back?  Maybe you don't need to move things.
    Read these to learn more about how iTunes works.  If you move the wrong things you can end up breaking links.  This goes double for moving things to other drives.
    What are the iTunes library files? - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1660
    More on iTunes library files and what they do - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITunes#Media_management
    What are all those iTunes files? - http://www.macworld.com/article/139974/2009/04/itunes_files.html
    Where are my iTunes files located? - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1391
    It is almost certain that nothing you are doing will require removing the iTunes application itself.  Asking that tells me you are doing something relatively complicated with insufficient background  -- kind of like somebody asking me how to use a power saw.  I can tell them, but when it sounds like their project is painting a room one begins to wonder if they are going about things correctly.   That said, organizing/consolidating copies files.  Open iTunes, get info on a track, look at summary and see where the file is now located iTunes uses to play the track.  It should be in the moved location and it is okay to delete the others.

  • Setup a home file/Media server with no internet access

    Hi,
    I have a home network with a wifi router connected to an Adsl modem. I try to setup a new server (macbook pro with Yosemite as OS) which will be only used as file and media server for my local network.
    I DO NOT want this server to have access to out of my local network and no one out of my local network could access it. in other words, it has to be isolated as a local server with no incoming/outgoing access from out of my local network.
    I should mention that this server can be accessed by other family members and they can setup other applications without my awareness... and I do not want to manually deny each access request (in or out) in the server's firewall and I am not always behind the server. I want to be sure that "all access" from/to out of my local network are denied.
    my local network dhcp rang is 192.168.10.10 to 192.168.10.20 and I have a firewall on the router and one on this server (little snitch).
    I have no idea how to do this, how to configure IPs out of my local network in the firewalls etc...
    I would appreciate if anyone can help me (I have a limited knowledge about networking)
    Many thanks
    Bye

    Thanks for your reply ChuckBing.
    Unfortunately I had already copied the instructions I found in the Sun documentaion to the letter and it still needed access to the internet. In the end I solved the problem by pointing the iepluginurl to a non existent file and putting a URL, pointing to an offline JRE executable on the server, as the message that appears when the applet cannot be loaded. The clients then have the choice of downloading the JRE or installing it online by clicking on the URL.
    Thanks anyway.
