Jumpy Mouse in Moodle LMS

Hi,
we are making SCORM software simulations using Adobe Captivate 5.5.
We  have an issue where the software simulations experience jumpy mouse  movements.  These mouse movements are ONLY jumpy when the SCORM package  is played within Moodle.  They are not jumpy when we play the same  package on the SAME server outside of moodle.
We have tried multiple solutions but none of them work.
Any help would be welcome.
TIA.

Hi Rod,
we are working on this with our team, and here are some interesting things we found out:
We uploaded a non-scorm course  on Moodle and it works smoothly. In Captivate every page will  communicate with the LMS for bookmarking and reporting. Maybe for that  reason the animations are not smooth. With this observation we are  trying to play around with the layers in Captivate to see if it brings  any difference.
Here is the link to the non-scorm course: http://mytechschool.com/moodle/file.php/101/Multi%20Color%20Pen%20-%20v1.38.htm
The communication that occurs on each slide is causing the jumpy mouse /  slow mouse movements.  Is it possible to fix it by modifying / adding javascript  into the HTML wrapper so the SCORM package didn't send the results until  the end of the assessment?
How can we do this?
Here is the moodle post where they provided javascript  code to accomplish this task.  Unfortunately, when this code is used, it  doesn't record the results in the gradebook.  We could use help from  the Adobe community to modify this code so it records the results in the  gradebook while avoiding a jumpy mouse.

TIA.

Ignore the MacKeeper ad no matter what else you decide.
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
    Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files! :-)
Disconnect the USB cable from any Uninterruptible Power Supply so the system doesn't shut down in the middle of the process.
Just sits there occupying very little space & never interfering, unless you need to invoke it in Single User Mode.

  • Import Captivate into Moodle LMS

We are trying to figure out if we can import a captivate training into the moodle lms and have it track user scores. Does anyone know if there are instructions available anywhere?

A lot of people using Moodle are building their courses in Captivate.
You should try searching for info about Captivate on the Moodle forums at: www.moodle.org

  • Wonky Demo Output - Misaligned Text Boxes and Jumpy Mouse

    Hello All,
I'm using Captivate 3 to record a demo of an internal
    organization's web-based system. As I'm recording I immediately
noticed that the mouse gets very jumpy and fades in and out
whenever I try to scroll up/down or side to side. It takes it
approximate 4-8 seconds to "catch up" and reappear on the demo
recording screen. It creates a chopping appearance.
Once I view the recorded demo, the mouse appears to be
trailing and creating weird lines (they fade after 3 seconds or so)
along the path the mouse previously traveled. Additionally, the
auto caption and highlight boxes are totally misaligned with the
various links I selected during the demo. Has anyone else seen
these same issues and maybe figured a way to fix them? Could it
simply be a matter of changing some global recording settings? Any
    suggestions?
    Thanks for your help!

Hi eLearningDeveloper and welcome to the community.
I think the problem might lie in the time to capture vs the
time to load. To clarify, when you click on a screen, Captivate
reacts almost instantly in recording what is on your screen at that
time. Unfortunately, since you are capturing off a server (web
based system), your screen takes a while to refresh, thus Captivate
is recording "incomplete" pages. My suggestion is to use a manual
capture method in cases like this i.e PrtScrn to capture your
screenshots and manually sart and end Full Motion Recording for
drag&drop type of capture The keys used are customisable at
    Edit/Preferences under the Recording node.
Lastley, work slowly thus allowing full screen refreshing at
    each stage.
    Hope this helps.

PS On another subject, try not to save your cp files to the
company server as this could lead to file corruption issues, rather
    save to the standalone PC.

  • Jumpy mouse scrolling

I've read a few discussion about this but haven't found anything useful. I am running Lion on my Spring 2010 MacBook Pro and I recently installed Windows 7 via bootcamp. Installation went smoothly and everything is working fine. My only problems is, when using any web browser or any program while in OS X (no problem when in windows 7) where scrolling is avaliable, the scrolling is not smooth and very jumpy when using the scroll wheel on my mouse. I never have had this problem when Windows was not installed on the computer. I even uninstalled Windows to see if it would fix the issue, and sure enough, the problem was eliminated after I removed Windows 7. So I have no clue what to do. I really want to have Windows on my Mac but this scrolling thing is almost a dealbreaker. Any ideas or solutions?

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • Jumpy mouse cursor: bug in Acrobat 10.1.12?

Is there a patch or fix for erratic mouse (jumpy cursor) at the edge of an Acrobat application window? When I move the cursor over any of the four sides or edges of an open window without clicking, the cursor jumps back and forth over the edge/border. This only happens when Acrobat is the active application, i.e. not when I'm using another application but happen to move my mouse over the boundaries of the Acrobat window.
This seems to have appeared suddenly.
    OS: Mac 10.6.8.
    Things I've tried:
    Reboot
    Changing to different mouse
    Changing the mousing surface
    Cleaning the mouse lens
    Closing other open applications
    Thank you,
    Jenn.

Are you sure didn't have the Shift key down at the same time as you pressed Cmd and the + (plus) key?
Cmd-Shift-plus and Cmd-Shift-minus are the shortcuts for rotate clockwise and counterclockwise.
For me, with Acrobat X 10.1.1 on Lion Mac OS X 10.7.2, Cmd-plus and Cmd-minus are working fine for zooming in and zooming out.

  • Jumpy mouse on 27" imac when using 2nd monitor

Exactly as my post suggests, I'm using an acer AL2016 20" monitor via a mini displayport to DVI adaptor at 1680x1050. What's weird is it isn't always jumpy, just sometimes. But only when the second monitor is connected does this happen.
I've tried this with 2 different logitech trackballs and few different mice, it makes it hard to click on anything because the mouse "jumps"... the speed it moves isn't consistent. I've tried cleaning the trackball, even replacing it. Only thing I can think is the difference in resolution between the two monitors(2560x1440 vs 1680x1050) is confusing it.

  • Windows 8 jumpy mouse on T530 when docked

I am having a problem with my T530 and Windows 8 Enterprise.  The mouse gets very jerky and jumpy when the cursor changes...i.e. if I move it across a text box and the mouse icon changes from the arrow to a cursor.  The strange thing is this only happens when docked.  If I undock the laptop, I have no problems.
Has anyone else experienced this issue or have any ideas??  I have tried updating drivers but nothing has worked.

    Dear _g_g_ ,
    Thank You For Contacting Lenovo.
Would you please send us a screen shot for the Mouse driver on  the Device manager page.

  • Jumpy mouse after waking from sleep?

Ever since I installed Leopard (clean install, not an upgrade) I've been experiencing this problem. Everything has been running flawless but after about 6+ days uptime, the mouse will start lagging/jumping like crazy after waking it from sleep.
For example, I closed my Macbook Pro screen about an hour ago to head to my parents house and put it in my bag. I get here and open up the screen to wake it up and the mouse is just jumping around like crazy. I waited a few minutes thinking maybe something was loading in the background sucking up all the CPU cycles/resources, but that's not the case. This is about the third time I've seen this problem and it always occurs after waking the computer from sleep with a 5-6+ day uptime.
Anyone else experience this issue? This was never a problem in Tiger and I had 30+ day uptimes there.

I'm taking the same cruise to frustration island. My trackpad just started getting really jumpy in the last couple of days. This is after a very irritating bout with random keyboard freezes (which I still have not resolved, but feel better that I'm again on a boat with plenty of others: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1206602&tstart=0).
I've tried to figure out if there's a process that's hogging things, but that does not appear to be the case.
I guess I'll just have to wait for another OSX update or something to get this issue resolved.

  • Exporting the result of output of adobe captivate to moodle LMS

Please i am new to adobe captivate,
I'm working on a project and we are using Moodle as LMS, i have developed some learning material for student using adobe captivate. The learning material has some quiz in it (tutor marked quiz).
My major challenge is that i want to be able to put the scores from the quiz for each student into moodle as the student is taking the learnig material.
I published the adobe captivate file to flash.
    Thanks

For Moodle, I would suggest you use Report to LMS as Percent, not Score, and use Quiz Results Only.  Unless there is some compelling reason why you need to report Interactions and Score, I would just use Report Score.  The less information you throw at an LMS, the more likely it is to work for you in many cases.
In your Manifest settings, set the Duration to a number of minutes tha corresponds to the duration of the course or module but make sure it is in the format shown (e.g. 00:30:00 for 30 minutes).  Some LMSs won't work properly without this setting. If you will be setting up a number of courses or course modules in the same Moodle server, you need to alter the default Identifiers that Captivate inserts so as to differentiate between all the various courses and course modules you may need to track.  If they all have the same identifiers, Moodle will think they're all the same course and your results will be faulty.
When you add a course to Moodle you can specify if it's a SCORM course, which will mean that you can ONLY use a SCORM module as the content for that course.  But you can also insert a SCORM module as an activity in a normal Moodle course.  You just need to select that as the Activity type.
If you will be working a lot with Moodle, I suggest you go to www.moodle.org and start reading their forum posts about setting up e-learning courses.

  • Not holding charge, debilitatingly slow, jumpy mouse, apps crashing

Mid 2011 MacBook air, OS x Yosemite 10.10.1. intermittent problems charging for 3-4 months--would stop holding a charge, but no other issues. downloaded new os in order to update firmware, since it looked like that would solve my problem. Unfortunately none of the updates that seemed to address this were compatible with my computer. So I let it be. I opened my computer after a week or so of not using it, and it took ~35 minutes to power up. Keyboard is on about a 10 second lag, mouse is jumpy and laggy as well. Chrome will slowly pull up, but the pages will crash. Word doesn't seem to be crashing though. Tried SMC reset to no effect. Tried deleting as many files as possible and the hard drive has over 30gb of available space. The dialogue boxes and windows like finder or system preferences dont crash, so I can do things like that very slowly. Emptied trash to.

  • Jumpy Mouse when connected to monitor with Thunderbolt-to-miniDVI-Adapter

    Hello everybody,
I have a Macbook Pro with Mavericks installed.
I've been working with a plugged in Packard Bell Monitor on my MBP for a few months now, everything went good.
But now, since yesterday, the mouse jumps all over the screen and it's really annoying!
I googled the problem and I now know that it's because of the Adapter I'm using, but it's strange.. I've had this monitor setting for quite a long time with no problems and now from one day to the other, there's this problem..
When I work only on the Macbook without a plugged in Monitor, it works normally and smoothly.
I even bought a new magic mouse because i thought it could be the external trackpad i'm using, but the problem is still here..
I cleaned my deck, cleaned the trackpad, cleaned my hands..
Sometimes the cursor moves only from left to right..
Do you know a way to fix this problem? Buy a new adapter? Buy another adapter? Buy a new monitor?
    Thanks for your help!
BTW: Excuse me for my "not that perfect english" :')

    Update.
    Still having the problem.
I changed the mini displayport to displayport cable:
    http://ca.startech.com/Cables/Audio-Video/DisplayPort/6-ft-Mini-DisplayPort-to- DisplayPort-Adapter-Cable-Male-to-Male~MDP2DPMM6
to this cable and am still having the same issue:
    http://outlet.lenovo.com/us/en/itemdetails/0B47091/460/8FA0422CA6EA48B0BDED71D28 7F73673
I have heard that the issue may have something to do with the number of pins contained in the cable:Try another DisplayPort cable (One that is VESA compliant). Non-compliant DisplayPort cables may have snyc issues and may also have the # 20 pin pwr cable active. The # 20 pin is not suppose to be active and it may cause damage to your hardware.
The new Lenovo cable does not indicate if it is VESA compliant.
The main issue here is that after the Macbook Pro screen flashes blue upon waking, the screen brightness keys do not function. Only after removing the mini dispalayport cables do the brightness keys (F1&F2) function again.
Would really appreciate it if someone knows how to solve this issue?
    Kind regards

  • Jumpy Mouse Behavior

As of late, I have been having problems with the mouse behaving erratically. Using either a Mighty Mouse or the trackpad, the pointer jumps in erratic, random locations. It subsides after about 30 minutes. I realized this was happening usually after waking from sleep. Also, the fan has been going on for extended periods of time as well as a VERY noticeable lag in performance. Typing at a reasonable speed renders a little more than 1 letter a second. So if I type "macbook" I can look up at the screen and still see it typing the -c-b-o-o-k one by one. The only way to stop all these things from happening is to reset the laptop. It is a pain to do this everyday though, as I have been shutting the lid to put it to sleep and have never had trouble with it before. I have 4gb of ram in here and I do not run much other than Safari. Any clue why this is happening? How to resolve? I am using os x 10.4.11 which I purchased in 2007. Do I need to reinstall? Will this even resolve the issue (I have read some tried and failed).

Same **** problem, now I've found 5 threads on the same forum related to the same problem. No solution yet, and the only one who has solved the problem was apparently by cleaning his audio port. I tried doing that, nothing happened.
    The problem is CONSISTENT.
    The problem is easily REPRODUCIBLE.
    The problem is very ANNOYING.
Please somebody tell Apple to look into this.

  • Connecting to Moodle (LMS/CMS) etc.

I am having the worst time trying to connect any authorware
piece to our current LMS. I am creating the modules (cbt) in
Authorware 7.0. I am adding the LMS Initialize and LMS Send KOs to
the file. Here is where the confusion comes in: I read that I need
to also include under the Command tab: The Learning Content
Packager and the Learning Object Metadata Editor. At what point do
I package the file? If anyone could let me know the order in which
I add the info to the file and when to package.
    Very Frustrated!

Adding the LMS KOs only allows your Authorware project to
    communicate
with an LMS - more easily than coding all that communication
    yourself.
Once your project is all setup, publish/package it.
While you then have an Authorware project, you still haven't
    met the
requirements for a 'scorm-compliant content package'. In
    order to do
that, you need an 'imsmanifest.xml' file, which can be
    generated from
one of those options you list (Learning Content Packager or
    Learning
Object Metadata Editor, I forget which).
Once that's done, put it in the root of your Authorware
    project
directory (same folder as the published files) and .zip
    everything into
one .zip folder. Do NOT zip the project's folder itself - zip
    the
contents of that folder, including any subfolders... So when
    you unzip
it, a folder does not result but a list of all files that
    were in the
    project folder...
Overall, it may help to read up on the SCORM spec to
    determine all the
pieces that are required. Authorware's an old program.
    Unfortunately,
    there's no one-step-method for publishing to a
    SCORM-compliant package.
