I just up graded to 10.8 and am having to sign in with my password every time I turn my Mac on. Is there a way to prevent this? I am the only one who has access to my computer so do not need that.
Ensure that automatic login isn't disabled from either the Security or Users & Groups pane of System Preferences.

For years I was happily plugging in my Palm Treo Pro, and having my contacts and calendar synch with my PC, WITHOUT the need for that information to be stored on the cloud, where anyone could get at it. When that died recently, I bought a used Windows 7
phone.
So far, it sucks. And it's not the phone that's the problem.
My main issue is that I have diligently exported my (over 5000) contacts from Outlook as a CSV file, and went to import them into Windows Live, only to discover that there's a 500KB limit. That's somewhere around 500 contacts.
ARE YOU SERIOUS?!? You really need me to set up 10 different files, to import stuff onto the cloud?
Please tell me there is a way around this limit, or (better yet) a way to synch directly with my PC, so I can avoid this whole Windows Live disaster?? I want to use Outlook. It's a Microsoft product!

If you still have the contacts in your Outlook Client, I suggest you setup the Microsoft Account(Windows Live) in Outlook via Exchange ActiveSync, then move the contacts to the contacts folder of the Microsoft Account, let it sync, then all will be done,
you don't have to export and import the .csv file any more.

my on/off button does not appear to be working on my iphone 3.....is there any way around this....anyway around this?...the phone also periodically just switches off.
Likely a hardware issue... no way around that except to get it repaired or don't use it (the button).

In Pages capitalization doesn't work as described. One can start with lower case and change to upper, but changing from upper case to any of the other options doesn't work. Is there a way around this or is this just a glitch that needs fixing?
I think it does work as described, but the description is not very complete. Capitalization does not change any of the characters that you type; what it does is allow some of the lower case characters to display as capitals. If you copy the result and paste it as plain text, you'll see that the lower case characters are still there. It doesn't actually say anywhere that it can make capitals display as lower case, and it can't.
The obvious way around this is to actually type what you want.
The more powerful way is to install WordService from Devon Technologies which adds the functionality of Pages' capitalization menu as well a lot of other ones. WordService actually changes the character to the one displayed, and it works in most of the applications on your Mac. -
I have a new iPhone 5 from T-Mobile. I can send simple texts just fine. However, I have to turn off wi-if and enabler cellular to send texts to more than one person or to attach a picture. Is there a way around this?
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

I just upgraded my iphone and now whenever it goes to sleep I have to enter a password to open it. Very frustrating! Can I disable this annoying feature? I went to Settings and disabled the Find My Phone feature thinking that would do it. But it didn't.

If you were attempting to update then it means it was not applied properly. Otherwise, there was something in the environment that caused it to go into recovery mode.
You will need a micro usb cord to restore via iTunes. Most have one lying around, or they can be had for cheap. The other option is to take it to Apple and have them restore it.

Do I have to download the ios7 for every device I want to update? We have a very limited internet connection and it can take up to 6 hours to download the new os. iTunes is downloading the update for each device- my 4S, my wife's 4 and my wife's iPad
Update the first one and then go locate the iOS (do a search for this, without the quotes -->> "*.ipsw").
Pull that to the desktop, then connect your other phone. Hold Shift (for Windows) or Alt (for Mac) and hit Upgrade. It will ask you where the iOS is located. Browse to it and select it. It will then upgrade your second device. I do this all the time, since I am usually the one who has to upgrade my friends' iPhones. -
I bought a Christmas video on my Apple TV in my bedroom for my kids to watch. I tried to download it to our computer in the living room, but I got a terribly inconvenient message that says I have to wait 30 days before downloading it, because my husband downloaded something with his account-REALLY?!

Thanks!You can try contacting itunes store support to have it reset. It's not gauranteed though because account association through computers and devices can only be switched every 90 days.

When i was younger i did all my itunes purchasing through my father's account. I just purchased my own Mac book Air and i am trying to transfer the music from my iphone to my Mac. Is there a way to do this even though the music wasn't purchased on my id?

I just purchased the I5, and use the same itunes as my wife. All my wifes contacts showed up on my phone. Is there a way to avoid this?
She needs to call the carrier on her old iPhone and have it removed from her account.
Once she does that you will not be able to use iMessage because that only works Apple to Apple.
You will need to use something else like Skype instead.

I just noticed that all my calendar events past the last 30 days are no longer on my calendar,(other then yearly recurring) . Is there a way to retrieve them or are they lost? I need them for my business!!

I just bought an iPhone 4 a few weeks back. I tried to delete their icloud account, and add mine but it's asking for a password to delete it. I have no way to get in contact with them. Is there any way around it?
There's no way around it. The former owner needs to erase the phone and remove it from their account as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515. No one else can help with this, including Apple.

I just downloaded a video in HD, but I found out after the download was over my computer doesn't play HD videos. Is there any way I can return the video and get the SD version, or upgrade my computer so it will play the HD video?
