    Solution Description
    Bug:3132644 에 의한 문제로 아래와 같이 조치 하여야 한다.
    1. Please apply the latest released TXK Autoconfig roll up patch.
    --2005년 10월 가장 최신의 TXK Autoconfig rollup patch는 4104924 이다.
    2. Verify that variable s_jserv_std_log is disabled.
    -- 해당 variable 은 $APPL_TOP/admin/<SID>_<Hostname>.xml (Applications Context File) 에서 확인 할 수 있다.

  • Jvm log in EP 620 SP13 (J2EE 640)

    Hi.
    we have EP 620 SP13 (J2EE 640) in windows system.
    When we start EP, System create jvm log file in directory "D:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC01\work\jvm_server0.out" and I found one strange things.
    Strange thing is all jvm log file is empty (size is 0 byte).
    How can I do write jvm log in that file ?
    Regards, Arnold.

    The std_server0.out file has what you are looking for.

  • Amount of bytes in log files

    Hi
    I want configure the log file to show the amount of bytes used for every person in apache tomcat
    How can i do this?

    Usually, this is due to a localization difference in the JVMs. When WLS boots, the .log file should show you some detailed information about the locale it is using, make sure that is consistent across the machines.

  • Java.util.logging: write to one log file from many application (classes)

    I have a menuapp to launch many applications, all running in same JVM and i want to add logging information to them, using java.util.logging.
    Intention is to redirect the logginginfo to a specific file within the menuapp. Then i want all logging from all applications written in same file. Finally, if needed (but i don't think it is), i will include code to write logging to specific file per app (class). The latter is probably not neccessary because there are tools to analyse the logging-files and allow to select filters on specific classes only.
    The applications are in their own packages/jars and contain following logging-code:
            // Redirect error output
            try {
                myHandler = new FileHandler("myLogging.xml",1000000,2);
            } catch (IOException e) {
              System.out.println("Could not create file. Using the console handler");
            myLogger.addHandler(myHandler);
            myLogger.info("Our first logging message");
            myLogger.severe("Something terrible happened");
            ...When i launch the menuapplication, it writes info to "myLogging.xml.0"
    but when i launch an application, the app writes info to "myLogging.xml.0.1"
    I already tried to leave out the creation of a new Filehandler (try/catch block in code above) but it doesn't help.
    Is it possible to write loginfo to same specific file?

    You should open/close it somehow at every write from different processes.
    But I personally prefer different file names to your forced merging, though.

    it seems to be a trouble with server performance pack. Try to DISABLE performance pack on your server and restart (unckeck "Native IO Enabled" on your domain"). You can also found some suggestions on http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs92/messages/Socket.html (check for "BEA-000414" message).

  • Log File on Desktop From Java HotSpot

    A colleague's PC has a log file on the desktop, created 28th October. Its title: 'hs_err_pid3268.log'
    Initially we were both concerned since Kaspersky had detected some viruses on his machine on it's nightly scan, however, looking at the log file I'm not sure whether to be worried or not! - It looks legitimate, if a bit odd...
    If somebody more knowledgeable could tell me firstly if it's anything sinister and secondly (if not) what may have cause it and whether it's an issue I should investigate on this machine.
    Thanks in advance, below is the contents of the text file. (As you can see I'm brand new to these forums, apologies if this is not the correct section for these kind of questions).

It is a crash file from the Sun/Oracle VM.
    It either got on the desktop because a user manually moved it there or because something is probably misconfigured (at least to me) in the environment.
    If you are creating java applications (programming in the java language) then you would need to figure out why the app crashed.
    If you are using java applications then you need to tell the vendor that it crashed. And you would not do that here.

  • Log file utilization problem

    I've encountered a problem with log file utilization during a somwhat long transaction during which some data is inserted in a StoredMap.
    I've set the minUtilization property to 75%. During insertion, things seem to go smoothly, but at one point log files are created WAY more rapidly than what the amount of data would call for. The test involves inserting 750K entries for a total of 9Mb, the total size of log files is 359 Mb. Using DbSpace shows that the first few log files use approx 65% of their total space, but most only use 2%.
    I understand that during a transaction, the Cleaner may not clean the log files involved. What I don't understand is why are most of the log files only using 2%:

    I've created a test class that reproduces the problem. It might be possible to make it even more simple, but I haven't had time to work on it to much.
    Executing this test with 500K values does not reproduce the problem. Can someone please help me shed some light on this issue?

    Yup, that solves the issue. By doubling the
    je.maxMemory property, I've made the problem
    disapear.Good!
    How large is the lock on 64 bit architecture?Here's the complete picture for read and write locks. Read locks are taken on get() calls without LockMode.RMW, and write locks are taken on get() calls with RMW and all put() and delete() calls.
    Arch  Read Lock  Write Lock
    32b    96B       128B
    64b   176B       216B
    I'm setting the je.maxMemory property becauce I'm
    dealing with many small JE environments in a single
    VM. I don't want each opened environment to use 90%
    of the JVM RAM...OK, I understand.
    I've noticed that the je.maxMemory property is
    mutable at runtime. Would setting a large value
    before long transactions (and resetting it after) be
    a feasable solution to my problem? Do you see any
    potential issue by doing this?We made the cache size mutable for just this sort of use case. So this is probably worth trying. Of course, to avoid OutOfMemoryError you'll have to reduce the cache size of other environments if you don't have enough unused space in the heap.
    Is there a way for me to have JE lock multiple
    records at the same time? I mean have it create a
    lock for a insert batch instead of every item in the
    batch...Not currently. But speaking of possible future changes there are two things that may be of interest to you:
    1) For large transaction support we have discussed the idea of providing a new API that locks an entire Database. While a Database is locked by a single transaction, no individual record locks would be needed. However, all other transactions would be blocked from using the Database. More specifically, a Database read lock would block other transactions from writing and a Database write lock would block all access by other transactions. This is the equivalent of "table locking" in relational DBs. This is not currently high on our priority list, but we are gathering input on this issue. We are interested in whether or not a whole Database lock would work for you -- would it?
    2) We see more and more users like yourself that open multiple environments in a single JVM. Although the cache size is mutable, this puts the burden of efficient memory management onto the application. To solve this problem, we intend to add the option of a shared JE cache for all environments in a JVM process. The entire cache would be managed by an LRU algorithm, so if one environment needs more memory than another, the cache dynamically adjusts. This is high on our priority list, although per Oracle policy I can't say anything about when it will be available.
    Besides increasing the je.maxMemory, do you see any
    other solution to my problem?Use smaller transactions. ;-) Seriously, if you have not already ruled this out, you may want to consider whether you really need an atomic transaction. We also support non-transactional access and even a non-locking mode for off-line bulk loads.
    Thanks a bunch for your help!You're welcome!

  • Applet cause to browser crash with hs_err_pid log file on desktop

    Hi there,
    We have a web based application which is initiating an other applet application inside, and communicating with the applet over live-connect javascript calls.
    Sometimes when initating the applet, it causes to crash of the browser and leaves a file on the desktop named like hs_err_pid.log.
    If it occurs once a time for a user , it will allways happen until logoff and login back to windows.
    We think that, it may be about some registry settings for the Java plug-in, because re-login may solve the problem.
    And we seen that it mostly happens when another Java application running at the same time or just before, on PC.
    Our environment is, Windows XP Pro. SP2, IE6 SP2 and Java 1.4.2_17.
    I appreciate if someone can help us to understand what is the problem ( I have post a log file sample below), and the solution ?
    Regards,

    Hello Every Body,
    I Would Like To Know The Log Files locations to monitor the start-up and stop error entries in the logs , like web server where its log files located,...forms server ...etc
    is it in $COMMON_TOP ..if yes where..?
    one last Q: what should i do to be a pro-active apps dba?
    using unix -AIX commands
    Thanks and Regards,

    Startup/Shutdown logs
    $COMMON_TOP/admin/log/<SID_hostname>
    Apache logs
    $APACHE_TOP/Apache/Jserv/logs
    $APACHE_TOP/Apache/Jserv/logs/jvm
    Concurrent Manager Log Files
    $APPLCSF/$APPLLOG
    $APPLCSF/$APPLOUT
    Database Log Files
    $ORACLE_HOME/admin/<SID_hostname>/bdump
    You can also use Oracle Applcations Manager (OAM), with OAM you can view information on general system activity including the statuses of the database, concurrent managers and other services, concurrent requests, and Oracle Workflow processes. You can also start or stop services, and submit concurrent requests. You can also view configuration information, such as initialization parameters and profile options .. etc.

  • Date format inconsistent in log files

    Hi All,
    I have a cluster spread accross 4 machines(4 different physical boxes).
    In three of the machines, the log format is ,
    <17/1/2010>
    while in the fourth on it is like,
    <Jan 17 >
    We require the log format in the form <17/1/2010>
    Any help or suggestion???
    Thanks.

    Usually, this is due to a localization difference in the JVMs. When WLS boots, the .log file should show you some detailed information about the locale it is using, make sure that is consistent across the machines.

  • Where to find JVM logs?

    Hi,
    I am new to SAP Web AS and I am migrating a J2EE application from Weblogic and I am considerably successful in that but I am not able to find the JVM logs I searched help.sap.com but without much success.Can any body suggest me where can I find the JVM logs(System.out and System.err) of the application.
    Thanks in advance.
    Ashok.

    Hi,
    if you have not changed your log configuration - that's the file you need. The reason that you're not able to see your System.out message there is that the severity of this log location is too high (Error by default). You might want to lower it (for example, set it to DEBUG) and see if you have your message in the defaultTrace.trc file.
    To change the severity, you need to connect the Visual Administrator to the server, then locate the Log Configurator service, then open the Locations tab within the Runtime tab, then browse the ROOT_LOCATION tree down to System -> out, and then adjust the severity using the Severity: dropdown list. Here's a <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/61/f24f3e21504644e10000000a114084/frameset.htm">link</a> to the docs as well.
    Hope this works now.

  • How to Specify the Log File address as RootDir/Logs/Error.log in Log4j

    I have a web application,
    How to configure the log4j Rolling file Appender in that.
    I want to logs to be redirected to the RootDir/logs/Error.log.
    Currently, I m using following configuration:
    # This file must live on the classpath of the jvm
    # Set root logger level to DEBUG and log to both stdout and rollingFile appenders
    # (see below for their definitions)
    # The set of possible levels are: DEBUG, INFO, WARN, ERROR and FATAL
    log4j.rootLogger=INFO, stdout, R
    ####### Console appender ######
    log4j.appender.stdout=org.apache.log4j.ConsoleAppender
    log4j.appender.stdout.layout=org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout
    # Pattern to output the caller's file name and line number.
    # The pattern: Date Priority (Filename:Line Number) - Message\n
    log4j.appender.stdout.layout.ConversionPattern=%d %-5p (%F:%L) - %m%n
    #### Second appender writes to a file
    log4j.appender.R=org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender
    log4j.appender.R.File=Error.log
    # Control the maximum log file size
    log4j.appender.R.MaxFileSize=100KB
    # Archive log files (one backup file here)
    log4j.appender.R.MaxBackupIndex=1
    log4j.appender.R.layout=org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout
    log4j.appender.R.layout.ConversionPattern=%d %-5p (%F:%L) - %m%n
    Thanks for your replies in advance.

    Please follow the following steps, will work.
    To enable log4j logging to a file on lunar pages do the following:
    1) Create a servlet class that will initialize log4j. Here is
    the code:
    package logging;
    import org.apache.log4j.PropertyConfigurator;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse;
    public class Log4jInit extends HttpServlet {
    public
    void init() {
    String prefix = getServletContext().getRealPath("/");
    String file = getInitParameter("log4j-init-file");
    // if the log4j-init-file is not set, then no point in trying
    if(file != null) {
    PropertyConfigurator.configure(prefix+file);
    public
    void doGet(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res) {
    2) In your web.xml file add the following entry:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>log4j-init</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>logging.Log4jInit</servlet-class>
    <init-param>
    <param-name>log4j-init-file</param-name>
    <param-value>WEB-INF/classes/log4j.lcf</param-value>
    </init-param>
    <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
    </servlet>
    3) Create a log4j.lcf file located in your WEB-INF/classes directory
    as with the following entries:
    log4j.rootLogger=debug, R
    # yourdirectory below is where your site lives.
    log4j.appender.R=org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender
    log4j.appender.R.File=/home/yourdirectory/public_html/logs/out.log
    log4j.appender.R.MaxFileSize=500KB
    # Keep one backup file
    log4j.appender.R.MaxBackupIndex=1
    log4j.appender.R.layout=org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout
    log4j.appender.R.layout.ConversionPattern=%d %-5p [%c] %m%n
    4) Add logging to your class. Here is an example:
    import org.apache.log4j.Logger;
    public class Example {
    static Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(Example.class);
    public void doSomething() {
    logger.debug("testing logging");
    5) make sure you have the log4j-1.2.8.jar file located in your WEB-INF/lib directory.
    That should do it!

  • How to configure a seperate log file in ALSB

    We have arequirement where we need to write ALSB Log action statements into a seperate log file.
    Can some one explain on this.

    You are right, that should work. Have you tried to do System.getEnv() and list all the env variables in the JVM? Maybe you are not querying with the right KEY since it is case sensitive.
    In a cluster logging everything to a single file is typically a bad idea, because it creates a botleneck on the OS and does not help debug local issues. If this is an important requirement for you I would consider using a database or a JMS queue for this. In last resourt you can also use some shared file system.
    I don't think there is anything provided out of the box by WLS logger. You can ask the WLS experts.

  • Rolling weblogic.stderr and weblogic.stdout log files

    Is there a way of make the -Dweblogic.stderr and -Dweblogic.stdout log files, rotate by size or time? We are running into 100MB+ files because we can't find any documentation about how to rotate these files.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh

    The stdout and stderr output options in weblogic apply to the jvm process using the standard unix standard in/ standard out redirection; therefore, BEA has not included a native method to rotate these files.
    However, in weblogic 10, if you place these files in the same directory as the weblogic output log (not to be confused with -D=/path/to/stderr.log and -D=/path/to/stdout.log they will be rotated every time you restart the server.
    The other way to get fine-grained log rotation on these files is to use a standard log rotation mechanism such as logrotate: http://linuxcommand.org/man_pages/logrotate8.html
    The other option is to address logging using an application framework such as log4j from a development standpoint.
    As of right now, these are your only options, unless someone puts in a feature request to BEA.
