JWS Lifecycle/Scope (Axis "Application Scope" Behavior in WebLogic?)

Apache Axis supports three different scopes for web services (Application, Request, Session). The documentation for Application scope says the following:

"Application scope means there will only be a single instance of the service class for the entire AxisEngine. This means that that you, the developer of the service class must make sure all your methods are thread safe. ... Any state you keep in your service object will be shared across all invocations for the lifetime of the engine."

How can I achieve the same behavior with a JWS service developed under WebLogic. ...a singleton web service accessed by multiple clients that maintains a shared state for the lifetime of the WebLogic server.

hi,
I am new to ADF and have developed a simple application that interacts with the database.
I have tried to deploy the application to the intgrated weblogic server but the deployment is not successful and throws the following error:

Whether u create HRconnDS in ur Weblogic server
If not create it ...
If yes just check it out whether u gave a correct connection string for it......

Application deployment to standalone WebLogic problem

I have a problem with application deployment to standalone WebLogic server.
We migrated from JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 to 11.1.2.1. I followed the instructions on this page: https://blogs.oracle.com/imc/entry/standalone_weblogic_domain_for_adf to deploy our ADF application to AdminServer. Everything worked OK.
Then I followed the instructions on this page: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21043_01/web.1111/e13813/custom_jrf.htm to apply JRF to our managed server "ADF_server" and got this:

Did you make sure that the 11.1.1.5.0 adf runtime was installed on the managed server before you installed the patches to upgrade to 11.1.2.1.0?
If not this is the problem. The new runtime is only installed automatically if the olny one was set up correctly,my personal finding from my tests. You can do threethings:
1. open the Enterprise Manager select your managed server and hope you see a message like 'aply JRF to this managed server' (can't remember the exact wording). Do this and the libs should setup OK.
2. open the admin console and select the needed shared libs and add your manages server as target. Problem is that you don't know which libs are needed. If you don't mind target all libs to the managed server. Not sure if this causes trouble later.
3. write down any information about the managed server like port, machine names domain name. Remove the managed server from the WLS installation. This should be much trouble as you are upgrading and that should be no application or shared library of your one deployed to the managed server. After removing the old managed server shut down wls and start it again (just for safety). Now create an new managed server with all names, ports and other information like the old one using the quickstart tool.
I prefer the 3 method, as this one worked all the time for me.

JWS is downloading the Application every time when I launch from desktop

We are Facing a strange issue with the JRE6U14 version. first let me tell you about the jnlp config file we have. we Use JWS to install a SWT Based application. For that we are using two JNLP descriptors . One is the main JNLP <application-desc> and the other is <installer-desc> which we use inside it.
The application is working fine with the JRE6u13. with no exceptions on a windows XP and Vista systems with IE 6&7 browsers . Recently one of our client installed JRE6u14 and they upgraded their IE browser to IE8, after that they installed our application also through Java Web start. Application got installed without any problem , but the problem they faced is when they try to open the application for the next time from the application shortcut on desktop, web start is not launching the application directly ,instead it is trying to download the application again.
Our jnlp file has the following configuration for <shortcut> element

This was working perfect in JRE6u13 but the mess started with JRE6U14 on windows Vista system with IE 8 . This behavior is not consistent again, the JRE6u14 works fine with IE 7 on windows XP. I have no clue about why it fails , Is any body faced this type of issue with Web start deployment.

Make sure your computer's software is completely up to date by going to Apple Menu > Software update.
Remove the following files to the trash and restart the computer (do not empty the trash until you are sure the issue is resolved):
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these files. Remove them all.)
Home > Library > Caches
Home > Library > Calendars > Caches (There may be more than one of these files. Remove them all.)
If after restarting the same thing happens try testing iCal in a new user account http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/8235.html.
If the issue only happens in your user account follow http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627.
If the issue happens system wide reinstall iCal by moving the iCal application to the trash and following: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/19535.html.

The CWGraph3D axis loose fit behavior

The CWGraph3D control's X,Y and Z axis behave as if they have a loose fit. That is, they do not make their axis minimum and maximum limits correspond to what their data values are but instead round the minimum down and maximum up to some integer increment. This often leaves significant empty space along the axis. LabVIEW's graph has a loose fit property to turn off this behavior. Does such a property exist for the CWGraph3D control ?

Application Content behavior

Which scenario would be the most efficient disk space wise specifically on the content being distributed, but I welcome any further thoughts as well.
Scenario 1:
One application with 7 deployment types, each deployment type points to the same content but with different command line switches.
Scenario 2:
Seven separate applications with 1 deployment type each, the deployment type of each application would still point to the same content with the difference being the command line switches.
You can stop reading here the below is the background to why I have this question if interested.
Background:
We have a group of around 10 software programs that are used at seven different physical locations. Each location has its own infrastructure (DB Servers, application servers, etc) and the software needs the correct configuration to work correctly for that location.
The configuration is set using command line switches to the MSI installer or to the install EXE. I want to deploy the software to device collections for each site and software. If I was using packages I would use the package with separate programs deployed
to the device collections for install but I want to use applications to eventually take advantage of the Software Catalog.

I can determine the requirements based on AD Site Name on deployed computers in production. So I believe that piece is figured out and will work.
We image all our computers at one location so while there the AD Site Name will always be the same so I can't use that. We then ship them out with the applications installed. Our PC naming convention includes a three letter location identifier, so if I had
a requirement that queries WMI looking for that three letter site code during OSD would that work? Software installs happen after Setup Windows and ConfigMGr step.

Calling AXIS Web Service from a Weblogic Client

The wsclient sample loads only a minimal set of SOAP and related jar files to the database required to get the sample working. The SSL related classes may not get resolved correctly, but as the sample does not use these,
you should still be able to proceed with the setup.

It looks like there is some issue with the datasource. I have created a datasource WebApplicationDS with JNDI name jdbc/WebApplicationDS on the weblogic server.In the application module I have changed the datasource from java:comp/env/jdbc/WebApplicationDS to jdbc/WebApplicationDS before deploying on to WLS. With the current setting if I run from JDeveloper I get the same error.
Please let me know how to resolve this issue.

Error while deploying ADF application to a standalone weblogic server

I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0, and I am trying to deploy my application to a standalone server running on a Unix box and I get the following error message:

1) Installed WLS 10.3.5 on a Linux machine
2) Installed ADF runtime libraries (ofm_appdev_generic_11.1.1.5.0_disk1_1of1.zip)

Error while deploying ADF application to a standalone weblogic

jdeveloper version: 11.1.2.2
Issue: I have built a standalone weblogic server (10.3.5.0) and am trying to deploy my ADF application to it. The deployment fails with the following message. The stand alone server I have built is on the same machine where jdeveloper is installed and I am using same weblogic that came with jdeveloper install. The aplication runs fine on integrated server. I have researched this issue and have got more or less same answer of installing ADF run time libraries. Can someone please help me with exactly what I need to install and how?

Unable to access java web application index page on Weblogic server 10.3.6

Hi,
I have deployed a Web application on Weblogic server.
My war file is very basic with just a index page.
I am able to deploy & access its index page properly in OC4J ( applicaton server on soa suite 10g ) and apache tomcat.
But when i deployed same war file in weblogic am not able to access its index page, Getting below error:
Error 503--Service Unavailable
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
*10.5.4 503 Service Unavailable*The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay. If known, the length of the delay may be indicated in a Retry-After header. If no Retry-After is given, the client SHOULD handle the response as it would for a 500 response.
status=Prepared, Consolidated State=Prepared, Target-Specific State= Prepared.
what does Prepared indicates here?*
Adminserver.log prints blow log when i try to access the index page

In weblogic 10.3.6, when you deploy using console, you have to click on start button which appears in Deployments page.
