Keychains: hotmail, yahoo etc...??????

Hello,
I just discovered keychains. I have noticed my keychains automatically has saved every password i have used to various internet sites and emails of mine HOWEVER it does not save hotmail or yahoo mail passwords and i am wondering why and how i get it to??

Hi there,
I was just wondering about a thing or two. As far as I read the original post, no cookies were mentioned. And keychains do have nothing to do with cookies, either.
There are usually two, maybe three reasons why a username/password combination might not be saved in a keychain.
1. When entering data for the first time on a site, you are asked wether you want to save it, do so later (that is skip it now and be asked when entering data the next time) or never for this site. If you choose the last option, you will not be asked again and no data will be saved in a keychain.
2. You can tell Safari (and other apps like Entourage, Mail etc.) whether to store usernames/passwords or any other data at all; in Preferences, go to the tab named "Automatic fill in" (I run a non English system, the text might be sligthly different); there you can (de)select three options as to what Safari is supposed to save/fill in in general.
3. When entering data in a page displayed in a browser, you are actually typing it in a form. Safari tries to determine wether it is dealing with a login dialog by looking for certain clues; if it does not find them, it might not try to save data. It could be that case with Yahoo Mail or Hotmail.
As far as I know, there is no way of telling a browser not to store any data typed into a form by sending any http headers or the like.
I am afraid that this information might not answer the original question but I felt it might be important to mention it. Maybe others can shed some more light on this?!
Regards
Jim

  • When i click a link on (facebook, google, yahoo, etc) it sends me back to my home page. It has done this at least 5 times only starting yesterday the 29th, one of numerous issues arrisen since the newest 4.0 security update.

This issues persists mainly on my two most frequently visited sites, Facebook, and deviant art. When I click any random link on any random page, the link would send me back to my home page, as if i had clicked the back button when i hadnt. I cant specify what links specifically, but it has done it twice on my facebook home page, once on a google search and several times on Deviant Art. On Deviant Art, I was several pages into the site when i clicked on a users gallery and it sent me right back to google, the back button wasnt active, but the forward button was, when i clicked the FORWARD button it went right back to my last page, just as if i has hit BACK. This problem has only been apparent for the last 2 days since the 29th, and only after i installed the last security update provided by the firefox team. seems like a bad coding error that mixes up and redirects addresses, that would be my guess.

And maybe you don't talk to too many people but I've been on many forums on different websites where people have had similar problems and a lot of people in the store were having battery problems where they were draining too fast. What I learned is that all the people who did not download the updates are good. There phone is working the same. The people who have, they're having battery problems
I have downloaded every update and my battery life is better than any previous iPhone I have ever owned. I see posts from hundreds of people every day, and this is not a commonly reported problem. While there are a few random reports of battery problems, it is no more than I have seen for any other model or any other version of iOS in almost 8 years. Usually problems of rapid battery drain can be traced to bad apps (FaceBook is the worst offender) or corrupt data being synced from iCloud or other sources (gmail, Windows Live, Yahoo, etc).
The simple test is to restore the phone as New. Do not create any email accounts. Do not install any apps. Do not enable FaceTime or iMessage. Do not enable Twitter or any other social networking app. Use it for a day and check the battery usage. You will find that it is working well.
And also see this: http://www.overthought.org/blog/2014/the-ultimate-guide-to-solving-ios-battery-d rain. It is the best treatise I have seen on the subject of battery usage.

when i use a search engine like google, yahoo, etc., when I click on the link, I am immediately redirected to another site. Many times I must hit "back", and click on the link again. Sometimes I am redirected again to another and different site. If I go back again and re-click, it will then take me to the link that is listed.

  • I constantly have to re-log-in on websites (like Gmail, yahoo, etc) during the same session. I get logged out within 15-20 minutes, or using different tabs.

In settings, I allow cookies for these sites, and I don't have this problem with Chrome or IE (hate IE!).
If I open another tab and am there for a minute, then go back to my email (gmail), then I have to re-log-in. This happens to other sites that I have to log into, too (shopping sites, yahoo, etc). Sometimes it does it while I am in the middle of typing an email. FRUSTRATING!!!
    Help??

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Further information can be found in the [[Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox]] article.

'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.

  • Hotmail & Yahoo

Is it possable in either Entourage or Mail to download emails from Yahoo & Hotmail?
    Thanks
    Simon

    Personally I use a program/daemon called "MacFreePOPs"
    http://www.e-link.it/macfreepops/
it runs in the background and has hundreds of modules which allow you to check various web based services (yahoo, hotmail, google mail, etc) it runs on localhost port 2000 but can be changed to whatever you want. To use it, just point your Mail program to that port on localhost and away you go! its easy to use but ONLY allows checking of mail)
    *****from their website***********
    What is MacFreePOPs
Many providers don't allow users to access their mailboxes with traditional e-mail client (Mail, Outlook, Eudora ...). For many users the only access method is the web-mail interface that peraphs is not flexible and efficient enough. To restore traditional POP3 access the project FreePOP started at Sourceforge.net.
MacFreePOPs includes the binary version of FreePOPs compiled for Mac OS X (10.2 or later including 10.4 Tiger without the need of extra libraries) and allow to use it with an pure Acqua-style user interface (in short is a GUI to FreePOPs).
    Main features
    - Integration with Dock and Menu-bar
    - Starting, stopping ad monitoring of freepopsd server
    - Set-up of all communication parameters
    - Options for auto-start, auto-stop and auto-restart on crash.
    - Real-time visualization of log file
    - Automated check ad download of newer version
    - Give detailed plug-ins information

  • HT201320 how so you set up email that is not hotmail, gmail, etc..?? every time i try to add an account, it doesnt work

How do you set up email on iphones that are not icloud, exchange, gmail, yahoo, aol, or hotmail?

I'm thinking you sync to your computer over Wi-Fi, if correct, switch to sync when connected to iTunes, turn off sync over Wi-Fi. Hope this helps, Good luck. Cheers.

  • In hotmail & yahoo, I am unable to print copies by clicking on the icon.

If I want to print out an email in either hotmail or yahoo I click on the print icon or the word print and nothing prints. If I go to the "file" and "print" on the tool bar it prints the entire screen as opposed to the email itself. I am trying to simply print the email. I am able to do so in Internet Explorer, but not Firefox.

It may be do to some add-ons. See if you have any adblocking or similar addons and disable them, then try it again.

  • HT1277 When I delete email from my actual hotmail, yahoo and gmail accounts online, it does not delete from my MacBook Pro Mail accounts that I created for hotmail, yahoo, gmail. I thought sync'ing these accounts would do this. Please help :-)

MacBook Pro 13.3/2.3/2X2GB/320/SD-USA with Mac OS X v10.5
I've set up my Mac - Mail with my yahoo, gmail and hotmail accounts and can successfully send and receive mail. However, when I go online to my actual yahoo, gmail and hotmail accounts to delete unwanted emails or to move those emails into subfolders, my Mac - Mail is not updated. How do I do this?
Also, if you can help show me how to view my hotmail folders in Mac - Mail, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks!!
    Tessy

Is it POP or IMAP? - see Mail/Preferences/Accounts - highlight an account and see what the Type is.
Try Mail/'menu bar'/Mailbox/'Take All Accounts Online'

  • Hotmail & Yahoo problems on N73

Anybody have any idea how you meant to access your hotmail and yahoo emails on N73 mobile?
Ive downloaded advanced settings from this site and also been in touch with my provider, but it all seems gobeldy **bleep**!
Is there any plain english set ups that i need to do on my phone.. Under the connection settings for incoming and outgoing email.
Any help would be appreciated thanks
    Linda

Firstly you need the peremium services for those providers to have POP access. You dodn't get this anymore for free versions.

After starting the blackberry curve 9220 tried to setup yahoomail and hotmail. Went to Email setup but it only shows blackberry mail and enterprise mail setup but no other mails.
    please help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
To use the proprietary BB services (including Push email capability, BBM, etc.), you must have an adequate data plan from your carrier. The carriers host BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) for their BB users. Typically, BIS is not available via generic data plans. Many carriers call what is necessary The Blackberry Data Plan. Whatever they call it, it is the carrier who delivers BIS to their BB users -- contact them for assistance. Once you have a Push-email enabled BIS-capable data plan on your BB (at whatever fees your carrier will charge, btw), your BB-proprietary services will function (e.g., you will have Personal/Internet Email added to the email setup wizard, your BBM will function, etc).
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/What_do_I_need_a_Data_Plan_for%3F
With hundreds of carriers in the world, each with dozens of different data plans, it's impossible to tell you specifically what any service plan might actually provide. Only the carriers can answer that question. The best thing to do is to decide what services you desire, and then talk to your carrier about obtaining (from them) a data plan that enables what you desire.
    Good luck!
