Keynote Custom Theme Background

I have created my own custom theme in Keynote on my iMac, it works fine and has a white background, so previews fine.
However when I save it to Keynote on my iPad and view it, the white areas on the background go transparent and I just see the standard grey background, plus the colours have all changes.
Why does it do this?
Can I change the background on my iPad Keynote to white?
The image I imported as a background on my iMac Keynote has a white background already so why doesnt this show up on iPad keynote.
If anyone can offer any pointers, I'd be really grateful.

Others may correct me, but my understanding is that Keynote masters can only have one title text box, and one body text box. Any other text placed on the master will appear as that literal text, and not as a text container.

How do I change the theme of a custom theme presentation in Keynote?
I have a beautiful preso that my designer created. I want to use the copy in those slides with a different theme more conducive to my audience. And use only some of the slides (I know how to do that part).
    Thanks!

    merv,
A rather simple way, regardless of version, may be to:
    1) Select everything and scale down;
    2) In the Select dropdown click Object, then Text Objects, then Object>Transform>Transform Each and scale up to the original size or to a(nother) suitable one.

  • Unable to locate custom themes in Keynote '09

I created some custom themes that I want to delete. I have been unable to locate them on my hard drive. The directions in the Keynote '09 User Guide don't point me to the right place. I found the stock themes in Applications> iWork'09> Keynote.app> Contents> Resources> Themes, but my custom themes aren't in there. I've done a global search for the file names and for .kth files, but they don't show up. Can anyone help me locate/delete these themes (that are outdated and cluttering up my themes menu)?
    Thanks!

Thanks, Kelly! I had actually just figured it out when I started to save a new template and looked backwards up the file tree. It's all under my user ID rather than the basic "Library" folder. So thanks so much!

  • Unable to apply custom theme with background Image through code

    Hi,
I am creating custom SharePoint 2013 theme and applying it through code on site by referring MSDN Article : "http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/jj927175(v=office.15).aspx".
However when I try to add background image in custom theme and apply that theme to site then sites UI breaks.
Details: I have two features, in feature-1: I am Deploying *.spfont, *.spcolor and background image. Then I am adding a new entry in "composed looks" list for my custom theme. in feature 2- I am applying the custom theme to site by using following
    code
    SPTheme theme = SPTheme.Open("NewTheme", colorPaletteFile, fontSchemeFile, backgroundURI);theme.ApplyTo(Web, true);
Both feature activates without any errors, new entry also gets added in 'Composed Looks' list with all correct URLs, current item of composed looks list also change to custom theme but entire UI of site breaks If I remove background Image code from custom theme then everything works fine. Following code works fine
    SPTheme theme = SPTheme.Open("NewTheme", colorPaletteFile, fontSchemeFile);
    theme.ApplyTo(Web, true);
If I apply same background Image manually(not through code) then also everything works as expected.Any help will be really appreciated.

    Hi,
Thanks for your sharing, it will be helpful to those who stuck with the similar issue.

  • Keynote - Changing chart textures in a custom theme

I know there are a couple different textures for the charts in the regular themes. I have created a custom theme for my company and I would like to be able to change the texture on the charts. But I can't seem to figure out how to choose which texture is used.
Does anyone know how to do that?

Darin, this is covered in the Keynote User Guide (p.179 in the KN3 guide). To quote:
    To set default chart attributes:
1 In the slide organizer, create a new slide based on the master slide you are designing.
2 Place a chart on the slide canvas.
3 Select the chart and set its attributes. (For more information, see Chapter 6, “Creating Charts.”)
4 To define defaults for another chart type, copy the chart and paste it on a new slide, change the chart type, and set the chart attributes. Repeat this step for each chart type.
5 When all the charts are formatted as you wish, select each of them, one at a time, and make the new properties the default by doing one of the following:
    - To make the chart’s attributes the default for the current master, choose Format > Advanced > Define [chart] for Current Master.
    - To make the chart’s attributes the default for all the masters in the current theme, choose Format > Advanced > Define [chart] for All Masters.
    - To make the chart’s type the default for all master slides in the current theme, choose Format > Advanced > Make [chart] the Default Chart Type.
6 In the dialog that appears, specify the total number of series for which you are defining attributes.
7 Delete the charts from the slides.

  • Custom theme bloat

I've been working on creating some custom themes for my church to use - very simple, single background image. When I "save as theme", I end up with a relatively huge file - over 20MB. There are only 6 masters, each with the same 1MB image.
When I viewed the package contents, I found that most of the bloat was due to unused images embedded by Keynote - stonemarble_barB_flathi-Layer0Image-1.tiff, etc. Looking at the index.apxl file, it looks like these are used for creating textures on charts.
I've tried removing the files and recompressing, but then get the annoying Missing File alert. Given that I'm handing these themes off to be used by less technically-savvy endusers, I'd really like to eliminate this error message. Is there an easy way to prune the index.apxl file?

once you've unzipped the xml file, you can throw away the zipped version, then use a tool like Text Wrangler (or textedit if you have to) and do a find/replace for all those images. My suggestion is to make a small jpg or png that's a solid color and is a very small file, and use find/replace to replace all the other images with this single, small image. THen toss all the old files, and place that image inside the .key package (do this from your .key before making the theme). Double check that you get no errors and then export as a theme. DOing it this way will make sure your final theme has a zipped xml file and other tweaks that you might mess up if you edit the xml after making the theme.
    hope this helps!

  • How do I leverage a custom theme for Outlook 2013?

Microsoft has a problem. They use the term "theme" in Office in 2 different ways: 1) the 3 background colors you can choose of the Office applications and 2) a collection of colors, fonts, and layout that can be customized and defined by the user
    for the applications.
I know how to create a theme in PowerPoint and save it as a default for all new presentations. Allegedly you can you this across Office applications but this is where it breaks down (as far as my user experience goes).
I've created a theme in PowerPoint. It has my custom colors. I want to use that same collection in Outlook.
I can apply it on a email by email basis (Options menu for an email), but I want the default email (new or reply) to use that custom theme. I see my theme in the drop down menu under a heading of Custom, but there isn't a way to set it as default
    (behavior differs from PowerPoint here).
So I look under the Outlook File menu, then Options and select Mail. You can change stationary, but the custom theme isn't an option there.
Then there is Styles under the Format Text menu when in a new email. There are color options and font options, but again, no way to leverage the work I did in creating the custom theme.
Searching on customizing themes for Outlook only gets me answers on the first use of the word theme, not the latter.
Is there no way to you the theme I created for Outlook 2013?

Its very simple - if you want a product that remains consistent and does not change its layout every few years, that is fully customizable, and will remain being supported by subsequent operating systems, then get an open source product running in an open
source OS. It seems that you can no longer rely on MS to provide consistency, stability, or support for their own products.
When will MS realise that customer familiarity with their products is their intellectual property, like branding, which you would never trash every five years. Imagine that MS wanted to change their name to a new company name, or their Outlook brand to Inlook
    - it would never happen. So why is thee trade getup and arrangement changing so often and against what their customers want? Is it to justify thee new products? Maybe with cloud and 365, they will finally be happy and stop mucking about with what works (after
they change everything back to '95 /XP format?).

  • Can you change the button color on a custom theme?

I recently installed a nice theme called Fractal-01 Song of a morning breeze. I had to installan add-on to change the menus that were white and thus invisible, but I have not figured out how to get the grey buttons for like Home and Back and Reload black, and they are very hard to see with this theme.
I tried changing them in Custom Theme Restorer, but nothing seems to change them to black. I can't imagine that the person who designed this theme would have made these washed out colors that blend into the theme the default, but maybe he or she did. It is a shame to give up on such a nice theme if I don't have to, but it helps if you can see your buttons.

    Hi sherylz,
It is also possible to edit the theme, but it may be wise to make a copy of it:

  • Custom themes: How do I create & edit an auto-text box?

    Hello
Continuing my exploration of custom themes
I have now found out how to make text boxes editable (control-command-option-T, that was carefully hidden!) and am now struggling with creating and editing 'auto text' boxes (not sure what their real name is in Keynote-speak)
    1) Creating new text boxes:
Let's take a simple theme like White. One of the Masters is Title + Bullets Left. Now let's assume I want to create two text boxes with bulllets - the existing on the left and another on the right. In PowerPoint it's pretty simple: highly text box; copy; paste; move & resize as needed. Well Keynote won't let me Copy so that's out. If I create a fresh Text box, I can mimick the indent levels, bullets, font attributes, etc. (long and painful) but it still won't work because it is not a placeholder text box (fixed size) but a regular text box (size depends on content).
    I'm sure I'm missing a trick!
    2) Edit auto-text boxes
Again, take any theme, say White again; If I choose a Master with a set text placement, say Photo Vertical, there is very little I can do with it: I can change text attributes and box size, but I can't touch the number of indentation levels for example. Then again what defines a text box as been 'double click here to edit' from a regular placeholder?
Overall I think I'm missing a whole editing 'avenue' regarding masters - Anyone care to guide me?
    Thanks!

You can set a text field to be multi-line and tick off the option to scroll
long text to have it automatically wrap, but you'll have a problem with the
first partial line, since form fields can only be rectangular. Another
problem might be the lines themselves, since you'll have to use a font size
that will fit them exactly, or it will look odd. I would suggest getting
rid of those lines altogether. They are not needed when filling in the form
electronically. It's a relic from printed out forms where people had to
    hand-write their answers.

  • Custom theme with Fiori launchpad

    Hi
I have created a custom theme using the theme designer  as per detailed in Colorful Fiori - Part 3 - Sea Blue
I can see some changes taking effect in the preview but not all. For e.g. the tile title color, icon color did not change.
When I use the custom theme with  the fiori launchpad url, I do not see any of the tiles. Only button I see is the logout button.
I checked in debug, it did show me few 404 errors.  wondering why the custom theme works for my ui5 application but not with launchpad url.
Appreciate your help, in identifying what I might be doing wrong.
    Thanks

    Hi Masa,
    Thanks for replying !
We found that our exact issue was resolved in Version 1.1.7 of UI Theme designer (OSS note 1941092) .
So we upgraded our SAP_UI component to SP08 and now we are on version 1.2.2 of UI theme.
I am now able to see the tiles on my Fiori launchpad and the logo I defined in the custom theme. But the custom theme I applied did not get applied to the tiles and the background.
I still see the whole page (Except our company logo) with sap standard sap_bluecrystal theme.
I did the Inspect element, and see that it is still using the standard CSS.  Cleared the browser histroy just to make sure that it is not picking the old theme from cache  - but with no help.
If I go back to the theme designer and open the custom theme, I can see the csutom  theme changes in the preview.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Can I take a frame from my project and use it as a custom menu background with CS4 and its Encore

My project is edited in CS4.
I moved it to Encore CS4.
I don't want to use any of the supplied menu templates in CS4 Encore.
I was hoping CS4 would be all I needed to create custom menus using scenes from my project.
My question is: Can I take a frame from my project and use it as a custom menu background with CS4 and its built in Encore or do I need some other element from the Adobe catalog to make these custom chapter menus and sub-menus?
    Thanks Jim

OK, I'm back. Here are my steps for creating Custom Menus with PS, En and PrPro:
In PrPro, move the CTI (Current Time Indicator) to the desired Frame. Check Frames on either side, with the Program Monitor’s Magnification to 100%, or maybe even 200% (you’ll need to scroll, but get a really clear picture). You want the clearest Frame in that area. With AME, in CS4, you’ll want to Export that Frame as .TIFF, or .BMP. I use .TIFF for this.
Now, for a caveat. When you Import this Exported Frame into Photoshop, be sure to check the specs., especially the PAR. You may have to use Image>PAR to adjust this to match your Project’s specs. Or, all might be perfect - just check this out.
Now, at this point, I choose the Library Menu, Blank, so that everything is setup. One can create the Menu from scratch, but careful attention needs to be paid to the exact naming conventions. At the very least, unless you’ve done this dozens of times before, use that Blank Menu, or similar as a guide, so you get things done, as they must be done.
Using that Blank Menu, just drag the Layer from your Exported Frame to your Menu image. It will appear above the black Background.
Add, or manipulate your Button Layer Sets, as is required, keeping them together. Remember that Button #1 will be the Button Layer Set, that is lower down in the Layers Palette. This can play a roll with Button Routing, back in Encore. Lower Button Layer Sets will have lower Button numbers.
Now, I always rename my Button Layer Sets, keeping the required characters - just changing the name. I also do all of my Button text in PS, and make sure to turn OFF Sync Button Names.
When done, Save_As .PSD, and then Import_As_Menu into Encore. Note: if you start with the Blank Menu, you can choose Edit in Photoshop, and then when done in PS, you just need to Save, and it will update in Encore. This is a personal workflow choice. I do the Edit in Photoshop route, but it is not necessary. One just needs to Import the resulting .PSD into Encore with Import_As_Menu, so that Encore does all the things that it needs to and recognizes the .PSD as a Menu.
When deciding what to base your Menu on, remember that you can "populate" your Menu with Buttons from the Functional Content. I’d suggest studying these Assets, and picking the ones that work best for you. You can still alter/edit those back in PS, so you just need to "get close."
Pay special attention to the required naming conventions. You cannot deviate from those first characters in the Button Layer Sets. They MUST be followed.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
