Keystore java.io.IOException

Hi all, when i try to generate a secretkey and store it in a keystore, but i get an io exception for some reason.
it says:
Exception in thread "main" java.security.KeyStoreException: java.io.IOException:
Error initialising store of key store.
i really don't know what i'm doing wrong, a little bit of help would be usefull
this is a piece of my code:
private static String FILENAME = "keystore.ks";
private void registerUserKey(char[] password) throws Exception{
          // Generate secret key for HMACRIPEMD160
          KeyGenerator kg = KeyGenerator.getInstance("HMACRIPEMD160");
          SecretKey sk = kg.generateKey();
          // Create a keystore and place the key in it
          // I use an UBER keystore, which is provided by Bouncycastle.
          KeyStore keyStore = KeyStore.getInstance("UBER");
          keyStore.load(null, null);
          String alias = "exampleKey";
          keyStore.setKeyEntry(alias, sk, password, null);
          FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream(FILENAME);
          keyStore.store(fos, password);
          fos.close();
     }

my days of wandering forums of all kind have finally paid off.
seems like adding the specific classpath option solves my problems
so now i run and compile my files with this line
java -Xbootclasspath:c:\jdk1.2.2\jre\lib\ext\jce-jdk12-118.jar;c:\jdk1.2.2\jr
e\lib\rt.jar; myfilename
and it works fine.
if there is anybody who can tell me why it doesn't work when i change my classpath (and class), that would be hugely appreciated.
But at least now i can run my applications

  • Default-keystore.jks cannot be loaded due to java.io.IOException

    Hi All,
    i am facing this error in the SOA composite created for approval. I think it is the either the access of the keystore file or the keystore file itself is corrupted. Any pointers on this would be great!
    Also, can someone let me know how do we create the new keystore for this and map the new keystore to the composite?
    FYI - The same composite is working in an other environment.

    $JAVA_HOME/bin/keytool -list -keystore /app/oracle/product/ofm/user_projects/domains/IAM_domain/config/fmwconfig/default-keystore.jks -storepass PASSWORD_OF_THE_DEFAULT_KEYSTORE
    If the KeyStore entries are displayed, at least this much can be sure that the KeyStore is not corrupt or tampered with.
    With incorrect password, you will receive: keytool error: java.io.IOException: Keystore was tampered with, or password was incorrect
    If PASSWORD_OF_THE_DEFAULT_KEYSTORE is correct, and the default-keystore.jks is not corrupt, it may be possible that in the Credential store, somehow password may be incorrect.
    So, log in the Enterprise Manager console (http://hostname:7001/em), Weblogic Domain --> IAM_Domain --> Right Click --> Security --> Credentials --> oim.
    Then edit the password of default-keystore.jks And then restart the servers.

  • SOAP Receiver   java.io.IOException: unable to create a socket

    Hi All,
    I have scenario where i invoke a external webservice  (over internet)  using SOAP adapter. I can reach the external target as they see my traffic on firewall but i always get:
    com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: java.io.IOException: unable to create a socket
    I cannot find any logs which provide more information on this. I have imported all the clients certificates into my J2EE keystore (webservice is over HTTPS). Any suggestions on where better logs can be found would be appreciated. So far checked RWB and the default trace log.
    Since my certificates arent in ABAP stack I cant use SM59 to test. I have used test tool like soapUI and can invoke the web service (although on different network to my XI server) so not sure why XI is failing
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Sorry forgot to mention - The error its self i suspect is firewall and will need to get network people to look at but any information on how to debug errors like this on J2EE side would be appreciated - is there a J2EE version of SM59?

  • Java.io.IOException: Invalid identity certificate signature

    Hi,
    My WebLogic 11g is running on a Windows Server 2008 64 bit server. I have obtained a certificate with private key for this Windows server. Now I would like to use this certificate and private key for my WebLogic server.
    What I have done:
    1. Exported server certificate using mmc.exe to my_domain.pfx
    2. Extracted my certificates and key with OpenSSL:
    openssl pkcs12 -in my_domain.pfx -out tempcertfile.crt -nodes
    3. Cut and pasted the section
    -----BEGIN RSA PRIVATE KEY-----
    (Block of Encrypted Text)
    -----END RSA PRIVATE KEY-----
    of the generated tempcertfile.crt to file my_domain.key
    4. Copied the second set of -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- & -----END CERTIFICATE----- from tempcertfile.crt to file TrustedRoot.crt
    5. Used keytool to create a new trust certificate keystore:
    keytool -import -trustcacerts -file TrustedRoot.crt -alias server -keystore new_trust_keystore.jks -storepass NEWPASSWORD
    where NEWPASSWORD is the new password of the keystore
    6. Used utils.ImportPrivateKey to create a new identity certificate keystore:
    java utils.ImportPrivateKey -keystore new_identity_keystore.jks -storepass NEWPASSWORD -storetype JKS -keypass NEWPASSWORD -alias server -certfile tempcertfile.crt
    -keyfile my_domain.key -keyfilepass PFXPASSWORD
    7. Configured WebLogic to use the new trust and identity certificate keystores
    When I try to start the WebLogic server it shuts down again with the following log:
    ####<22-03-2012 07:10:42 CET> <Critical> <WebLogicServer> <HID-1041559> <AdminServer> <main> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <> <1332396642889> <BEA-000362> <Server failed. Reason:

    Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance, Steffen

    The solution is that the certificates in tempcertfile.crt must be in the correct order. The order must be:
    Identity certificate
    Intermediate certificate
    Root certificate
    The identity certificate can be located easily in tempcertfile.crt since there must be header that shows the identity--information such as the name of a person or an organization, their address, and so forth. The intermediate certificate will be the last certificate in the tempcertfile.crt.
    After I changed the order of the certificates it worked fine.
    Regards Steffen

  • Java.io.IOException: HTTPS hostname wrong:  should be localhost

    I'm having problems verifying an SSL client using Tomcat v5.x. I create a key in a particular keystore, let's call it C:\tomcat. I start tomcat specifying this file as the keystore to use. I then connect to the server on port 8443 with Internet Explorer and save the certificate returned from the server in a file. I then import the certificate into a keystore, let's say C:\tomcat_client. In my SSL client code I am specifiying the keystore to use with a System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore", "C://tomcat_client"); However when I try to retrieve an output stream from a HttpURLConnection I receive the above exception. Any ideas what is happening ?
    Exception : java.io.IOException: HTTPS hostname wrong: should be <localhost>
    I have tried a variety of other options including importing the certificate into jssecacerts in the lib/security directory of the jre I am using to execute the SSL client, using the same keystore file for tomcat and the SSL client, etc.

  • Different "java.io.IOException: HTTPS hostname wrong:  should be ..." error

    Hi
         I am experiencing some problems using SSL with Java 1.4.2_12 which appear to be subtly different to the ones posted earlier in this forum.
         ProcessA is trying to establish an HTTPS connection with an Apache server but gets the following error whilst trying to open the stream:
         java.io.IOException: HTTPS hostname wrong: should be <nnn.nnn.nnn.n>
         ProcessA obtains the IP to connect to from local config and this exactly matches the IP the IOEXception says it should be! Consequently I am confused as to why JSSE complains.
         I checked the certificates in the local keystore and the CN is also identical to the supplied IP
         I do not have the authority to tinker with the Apache configuration so I can't try anything else out. I must have missed a step somewhere but I am at a loss as to what. If anyone can shed some light on what may be happening here, I'd be obliged.
         thanks

    Ejp: please accept my apologies for the hugely late response to this.
    The problem was indeed at the server end. I had already employed the HostnameVerifier but after some badgering of the server admin the problem was nailed as exactyly what you said.
    Thanks (and apologies) again.

    do somebody have an idea what I could try to do to solve this problem?
    I create the keystore  on the follwoing way: C:\Programme\Java\jdk1.7.0_45\bin>keytool -genkey -keyalg RSA -alias MYKEY -keystore fspKeys -storepass xxxxxxxx

    I have JRE 1.5.0_14 in the client machine.
    Once this exception comes, no matter how many times I tried to relaunch the application same exception (cannot verify signature block is shown. Once i restart the server, its working fine.
    Regarding jardiff, Yes. we use it.
    Also, this exception is not shown on every machine which are trying to download same update. Only on few..
    Any idea regarding this, please share it.

  • Java.io.IOException: TLS SSLContext not available

    Hi all,
    I'm new to https and SSL. I had my eclipse configured for non-ssl mode and working fine. now I'm trying to change my tomcat to HTTPS.
    I created a new certificate using the keytool and gave the password changeit. I found the .keystore file in my user home directory.
    I added the following lines to my %TOMCAT_HOME%/conf/server.xml
    <Connector port="443"
    maxThreads="150" minSpareThreads="25" maxSpareThreads="75"
    enableLookups="false" disableUploadTimeout="true"
    acceptCount="100" debug="0" scheme="https" secure="true"
    clientAuth="false" sslProtocol="TLS" />
    And the following line to %TOMCAT_HOME%/conf/web.xml
          <security-constraint>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern>
    </web-resource-collection>
    <user-data-constraint>
    <transport-guarantee>CONFIDENTIAL</transport-guarantee>
    </user-data-constraint>
         </security-constraint>
    I copied both jce.jar and jsse.jar to %TOMCAT_HOME%/common/lib
    When I try to start my tomcat using eclipse tomcat plugin, It is giving me the following error

    Hi,
    I am facing the exact same issue when getting a big jar of more than 7 megs. It seems to occur in some special network configuration that I am not yet able to figure out. It is obviously linked to the fact that the jar is unpacked on the client side.
    Anybody ran into this one and understood the root cause?Please, don't resurrect old threads, and don't use signatures with addresses. I'm locking this thread.

    Any idea why this occurs, or how to suppress it, because it really spams our logs...
    Thanks.

  • Error while trying to create a Solr collection (java.io.IOException: The device is not ready)

    Hello, everyone.
    I'm trying to create a .cfm document that will erase a specific Solr collection and then re-create it, index it, and optimize it.
    The delete works flawlessly.
    Unfortunately, creating it isn't working, at all.  I get the following message:
    Unable to create collection publicsearch - An error occurred while creating the collection: java.io.IOException: The device is not ready.
    This is a Windows 7 server running Apache and CFServer 9.0.1 (the version before Verity was cut.)  I'm not getting any more details than the one error message.  Any idea of what could be causing this?  I've Googled this and I'm seeing a lot of issues similar, but not quite what I have happening.
    Thanks,
    ^_^

    Nevermind.. no one bothered to inform the developer that the path to the collection AND the path to the directory that the collection is for are different on this other server.
    Fixed.

    Hi All,
    I face the following error message in the web browser when I try to run a simple page from JDeveloper:
    500 Internal Server Error java.io.IOException
    The message is the same when I run the Hello World test from the Tutorials project.
    Here is the error stack:

    This is JDeveloper 10.1.3.5.0 from patch p19170592_R12_GENERIC.zip
    The OAF release is 12.2.4
    JDEV_USER_HOME is set to C:\Olivier\R12\jdev1224\jdevhome\jdev
    The .dbc file looks fine.
    I connect successfully to database.
    I tried to reinstall JDeveloper.
    I performed many searches on MOS, OTN, Google, etc...
    I tried to change the Startup Settings (Host Name, IP Address settings) of the Embedded OC4J Server Preferences.
    I am stuck.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Olivier

    Hi Peddi,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I checked again the .dbc file.
    I downloaded again the file from $INST_TOP/appl/fnd/12.0.0/secure to <JDEV_USER_HOME>\dbc_files\secure
    This file worked fine for JDeveloper for 12.2.3.
    I went again through "Oracle Application Framework Developer's Guide Release 12.2.4 July 2014" but could not find any part related to .dbc file having changed from previous release.
    I tried to comment out the parameter APPS_JDBC_URL in .dbc as per MOS note "Troubleshooting JDeveloper setup for Oracle Applications (Doc ID 357218.1)"
    But I still face the issue.
    According to the note "Configuring JDeveloper For Use With Oracle Applications 11i and R12 (Doc ID 330236.1)", I have added the following debug parameters in the project properties:
    -Djbo.debugoutput=console -Djbo.logging.trace.threshold=9 -Djbo.jdbc.driver.verbose=true -Djbo.jdbc.trace=true
    It generated the following OC4J server detailed log showing more error messages (in red below):
