KM Content Export/Import

Hello,
Version 7.00 SP16
I need to transport KM resources with their GUIDs from our DEV to QA manually but i'm having trouble with the Pending Imports iView "Content Administration/KM Content/Import/Pending Imports" in our QA system.
At first i did not have the pending imports layoutset, it was showing me the folder in consumerexplorer "I still don't why because both Dev/QA have the same versions/setup". I was missing some KM config for the com.sap.netweaver.kmc.expimp File System Repository Manager and the ExpImp* Flex UI components. I transported the missing objects from Dev to QA and restarted the system.
I now have the Pending Imports iView but after i upload a .kmc transport package successfully and go the pending imports iView, i don't see any entry. if i try to re-upload the package, it tells me that one already exist with that ID, If i browse to /com.sap.netweaver.kmc.expimp/expimp/import/pending i can see the transport package in question but the folder /~system/expimp/import/pending which the Pending Imports iView points to is empty.
The transport package is in .kmc and not zip formats. I can transport via ICE and WebDav but both methods do not transport the GUIDs which is what i need.
I'm running out of ideas and don't know why it's not working. Hopefully someone here has the solution.
Thank you

Hello Mikhail,
Thanks for the response.
It looks like we still have enough space available in the mount. Space available is more than 10GB, transport package 5MB.
I looked at the default trace and i get an exception during the import but there is not much information from what i can see.
Could not update pending imports

  • Export/Import Process in the UI for Variations Content Translation is Generating CMP Files with No XML

    We have a SharePoint 2010 Publishing Website that uses variations to deliver contain to multiple languages. We are using a third-party translation company to translate publishing pages. The pages are
    exported using the  export/import using the UI process described here: "http://blogs.technet.com/b/stefan_gossner/archive/2011/12/02/sharepoint-variations-the-complete-guide-part-16-translation-support.aspx".
    Certain sub-sites are extremely content-intensive. They may contain many items in the Pages library as well as lists and other sub-sites.
    For some sub-sites (not all), the exported CMP file contains no XML files. There should be a Manifest.XML, Requirements.XML, ExportSettings.XML, etc., but there are none. After renaming the CMP file
    to CAB and extracting it, the only files it contains are DAT files.
    The only difference I can see between the sub-sites that generate CMP files with no XML files is size. For example, there is one site that is 114 MB that produces a CMP file with no XML files. Small
    sites do not have this problem. If size is the problem, then I would think the process would generate an error instead of creating a single CMP file that contains only DAT files. However, I do not know exactly what the Export/Import Process in the UI is doing.
    This leads to two questions:
    1.
    Does anyone know why some CMP files, when renamed to *.CAB and extracted, would not contain the necessary XML files?
    2. Second, if exporting using the UI will not work, can I use PowerShell? I have tried the Export-SPWeb, but the Manifest.XML does not contain translatable
    content. I have not found any parameters that I can use with Export-SPWeb to cause the exported CMP to be in the same format as the one produced by the Export/Import process in the UI.
    As a next step, we could try developing custom code using the Publishing Service, but before doing this, I would like to understand why the Export/Import process in the UI generates a CMP that
    contains no XML files.
    If no one can answer this question, I would appreciate just some general help on understanding exactly what is happening with the Export/Import Process -- that is, the one that runs when you select
    the export or import option in the Site Manager drop down. Understanding what it is actually doing will help us troubleshoot why there are no XML files in certain export CMPs and assist with determining an alternate approach.
    Thanks in advance

    I wanted to bump this post to see about getting some more responses to your problem. I'm running into the same problem as well. We're running a SharePoint 2010 site and are looking at adding variations now. The two subsites with the most content take a
    while to generate the .cmp file (one to two minutes of the browser loading bar spinning waiting on the file). Both files are generated with a lot of .dat files but no .xml files. I was thinking like you that it must be a size issue. Not sure though. Did you
    ever happen to find a solution to this problem?

  • Export/import content area

    Hi,
    I'm trying to import/export the content area using the contexp.cmd and the contimp.cmd. When I run the import I receive the error '
    WWUTL_API_SiteTransport.GetImportSites: Import table WWUTL_SBR_TX_SITES$ is empty
    Rolling back transaction'
    The first thing the export does is truncate this table so it is always going to be empty. Any ideas how to get round this??
    I am running version 3.0.7.6.2 on NT 2000
    Thanks

    The import truncates the table to remove any old data that might be left from previous export/ import.
    Following this step, the Oracle Import utility imp is run. One reason why you are getting the error could be due to different versions of the 9iAS client utilities (which are 8.1.7 based in your case) and the database server. If the database server is 8.1.6 then you need to set the ORACLE_HOME to the database home prior to running the import. Once the import is complete you can reset the ORACLE HOME back to the 9iAS Home.

  • Portal content Transport Packages Export/Import Question.

    Hi,everyone:
      I have a problem when Export packages of portal content,the epa-file is correct on the server however become error after download from the server to localhost.
      The bug is Function of Download itself,if anyone have meet this case and help me. I need your help!
    Regard!
    Fish

    Hi Ree,
    As I mentioned in my previous reply it is working perfectly for me. The import is creating the required files in the PCD.
    Let me explain how it is done.
    Create a TP
    Create a folder and add the required files(Workset,pages, iviews etc) to the the folder.
    add the folder with all the contents(select 'Add all objects to transport package' from the content menu) to the TP.
    Export the TP. give a name of your choice(removing the numbers)
    Download it to the local machine using the dowmload link.
    the file will be saved as a <i>TPName</i>.epa in your local drive.
    in import, select 'client' for Source for Package Files.
    brose and select the <i>TPName</i>.epa file.
    upload the file, and you can see the contents.
    then import it to the new environment. Now the complete folder stucture will be created in the PCD exactly as you created it for the TP.
    I hope you are doing like this. It should work
    Are yo able to open the downloaded file with WinZip?
    cheers

  • Archiving contents using 'Self Export/Import'

    Hi,
    We are trying to just archive the documents uploaded to the content server to specific place in the same server (not using migrating functionality).
    Is it possible to handle this case using “Self Export/Import” functionality?
    Or can we use "Content Tracker -> Reduce data" option?
    can you explain us how to do this task.
    Thank you
    Edited by: Nir on Sep 2, 2011 7:07 AM

    Consider Disk space and or where your Archives directory is located.
    Sometimes people set up their Vault and Weblayout directories to be on the shared disk and forget to move the Archives directory to a shared location with lots of space. If it is not moved it is in the same file structure as the core CS files and the disk space allotted there may not be big (in some customer cases) and filling that disk may stop your server.
    Just a consideration.

  • Issue with Memory ID export / import

    Hi Experts,
    We are facing strange issue during export/import from memory ID.
    We are exporting value to Memory ID from module pool program and trying to import same value in SAP workflow method.
    While importing the value from memory ID it is failing to import and gives sy-subrc =4.
    Any idea how can we do export/import in module pool program to Workflow method?
    Regards,
    Sanjana

    Hi sanjana,
    Please check the link. Here you can find some examples also.

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fc/eb3bf8358411d1829f0000e829fbfe/content.htm
    You just need to create a key and an ID to save data into INDX table.Once its saved you can use same key and id to import .
    Again mentioning , dont forget to delete using same key and ID once you have imported else it may give error.

  • (ABAP+JAVA) system is too big to export/import

    We have some NW04s and ECC6 dual stack systems that we want to frequently clone using homogeneous system copy method.
    However they can be as big as many terabytes.
    Is there a way to clone they using a way other than export/import?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    As of SAP NetWeaver 7.0, you can copy ABAPJava systems in one run using either database-specific methods or database-independent methods. In a ABAPJAVA stack system, you need to run a separate export for the Java engine to archive SDM and application specific file contents. You will have to supply that java Export location on the target system, while performing DB specific system copy procedure.
    Please refer [system copy guide for ABAP+JAVA stack |http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000670917&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000112&_OBJECT=011000358700000416402008E] along with the previously suggested links to get more information.

  • PC suite export/import breaks SMS messages

    Nokia PC suite 6.85.14.1
    Windows XP SP2
    Phone 6500 classic connected either by Bluetooth or USB
    just updated 6500c to 4.84 firmware
    an sms message is received and is viewable fine in Inbox
    using the phone I move it to Archive, it is still OK
    I then export it to PC (drag-n-drop to a folder)
    I delete the message in the phone and import (drag-n-drop) back to Archive
    The message is there but it does not show sender name (instead I see the date in the header)
    When I open the message and click message details, I can see that
    To: field contains the actual sender, while Sender: has (no address)
    I tried various things including messing with vmg content (putting same TEL: field to both VCARD entries), but on the import to 6500c, it is the same story - as if the import swaps the sender with receiver and clears the sender field
    Please also note that at all times, when I view the messages in PC Suite (phone browser) they show correct sender field, I just need to see the same on the actual phone
    Is there something I am missing?
    Generally I just need to copy old sms messages from 7260, but when importing them they break as described above. I then tried to export a "6500" message and import it back - with same result. So it appears to be a PC Suite issue rather than anything

    al_lea, thanks, I already thought about that, but as I said to exlucde any incompatibility issues within vmg I tried a export/import of a "native" sms freshly received on the 6500, and it gives the same problem.
    I also tried changing versions to 3.0 manually in the vmg with no luck.
    I'm starting to think the message is actually ok, but it's probably the 6500c software that doesn't display them right. When I try to reply to "broken" message, it does go to sender, even though he is not displayed as one
    it looks like PC suite export or import strips the empty to: VCARD from inside the vmg, which is fine by the standards but 6500c doesnt like

  • EXPORT/IMPORT  to MEMORY

    Hi,
    I want to know if a parameter ID  of "export/import to memory" instruction is available in two differents session with different user's login?
    tks
    Carlos

    The use of the shared buffer may be of some interest to you.
    <b>From F1 help</b>
    <i>EXPORT obj1 ... objn TO SHARED BUFFER dbtab(ar) ID key.
    Additions:
    1. ... = f (for each field you want to export)
    2. ... FROM f (for each field you want to export)
    3. ... CLIENT g (before ID key)
    4. ... FROM wa (as last addition or after dbtab(ar))
    In an ABAP Objects context, a more severe syntax check is performed that in other ABAP areas. See Implicit field names not allowed in clusters and Table work areas not allowed.
    Effect
    Stores a data cluster in the cross-transaction application buffer.The specified objects obj1 ... objn (fields, structures, or tables) are stored as a single cluster in the buffer.
    The specified table dbtab must have a standard structure.
    The buffer area for the table dbtab is divided into various logically-related areas (ar, two-character ID).
    You can export a collection of data objects (data cluster) to an area of the buffer under a key of your own choosing (key field).
    You can import individual data objects from this collection using the IMPORT statement (as long as the data has not been deleted from the buffer).
    Notes
    In classes, you must always specify explicit names for the data objects. Addition 1 or addition 2 is therefore obligatory.
    In classes, you must always specify the work area explicitly. Addition 4 is therefore obligatory.
    The table dbtab that you specify after SHARED BUFFER must be declared under TABLES (except in addition 4).
    You cannot export the header line of an internal table. If you specify the name of an internal table with a header line, the system always exports the actual table data.
    You cannot export data, object, and interface references.
    Please consult Data Area and Modularization Unit Organization documentation as well.
    Example
    Exporting two fields and an internal table to the buffer with structure INDX:
    TABLES INDX.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF ITAB3_TYPE,
              CONT(4),
           END OF ITAB3_TYPE.
    DATA: INDXKEY LIKE INDX-SRTFD VALUE 'KEYVALUE',
          F1(4), F2 TYPE P,
          ITAB3 TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF ITAB3_TYPE WITH
                     NON-UNIQUE DEFAULT KEY INITIAL SIZE 2,
          WA_INDX TYPE INDX.
    Fill data fields before CLUSTR
    before the actual export
    INDX-AEDAT = SY-DATUM.
    INDX-USERA = SY-UNAME.
    Export data.
    EXPORT F1    FROM F1
           F2    FROM F2
           ITAB3 FROM ITAB3
           TO SHARED BUFFER INDX(ST) FROM WA_INDX ID INDXKEY.
    Addition 1
    ... = f (for each object you want to export)
    Effect
    Exports the contents of the field f and stores them under the specified name.
    Addition 2
    ... FROM f (for each field you want to export)
    Effect
    Exports the contents of field f and stores them under the specified name.
    Addition 3
    ... CLIENT g (before ID key)
    Effect
    The data objects are stored in client g (as long as the import/export table dbtab is client-specific).
    Addition 4
    ... FROM wa (as last addition or after dbtab(ar))
    Effect
    Use this addition if you want to store user data fields in the application buffer. Instead of the table work area, the system uses the specified work area wa. The specified work area must have the same structure as the table dbtab.
    Example
    DATA WA LIKE INDX.
    DATA F1.
    WA-AEDAT = SY-DATUM.
    WA-USERA = SY-UNAME.
    WA-PGMID = SY-REPID.
    EXPORT F1 = F1 TO SHARED BUFFER INDX(AR)
                   CLIENT '001' ID 'TEST'
                   FROM WA.
    Note
    Catchable runtime error
    EXPORT_BUFFER_NO_MEMORY: The EXPORT data cluster is too big for the application buffer. This error should not occur often, since the buffer uses a procedure similar to the LRU(Least Recently Used) procedure to monitor the buffer contents. However, if the error does occur, you can increase the profile parameter rsdb/obj/buffersize (see Profile Parameter Attributes), which may help.</i>

  • EXPORT - IMPORT in BACKGROUND JOB

    Hello ABAP Gurus,
    There are two programs I am using.
    In 1st Program I am Exporting the Data to the ABAP Memory and then after that scheduling the second program in background from 1st Program through
    1 ) JOB_OPEN
    2 ) SUBMIT
    3 ) JOB_CLOSE
    Now I am trying to Import the data that is Exported in the second program which is scheduled in background.
    But I am not able to Import it.
    My question is that - Does EXPORT - IMPORT Statements works in such scenario when background job is scheduled.
    As it is working fine if, I only submits and does not put in the Background  JOB.
    Looking forward for the answer.
    Helpful answers will definately be awarded.
    Thanks in Advance
    Sudhanshu Garg

    Hi Sudhanshu,
    Export/import to memory uses ABAP memory which will not be accessible by the background job.
    No need of creating the structures in dictionary
    You can use the Table INDX for storing your data in the database.
    See the link below for an example.

  • Export/import in 904 versus 10.1.2

    We have two 10G AS 904 installs (dev and prod - same O/S too). From time to time we move our production portal content to the dev server. We sometimes get corruption and have to use the Schema validation Utility scripts to fix the import to the dev server. Not a show stopper but this adds another manual step to the process.
    I see the 10.1.2 version has improved import/export checks. Can anyone give feedback on the improvements in the export/import process?
    Thanks
    Kevin

    Kevin,
    Careful with this approach. Passing from DEV to PROD is ok, but then to DEV back again, what I suggest you is that you have a clean start on DEV, ie, clean the DEV machine and later do the same to the PROD. Portal Export / Import works only in one-way and not both ways (this basically has to do with the checks we do make and with possible conflicts with the objects on both sides). Also check the available documentation... which is all compiled in Metalink Note:263995.1 - Master Note for OracleAS Portal Export / Import Issues
    As to the improvement of the process, please give it a check on the New Features papers (make a find on "export" - it is easier to pick the references):-
    10.1.2 -- http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/pdf/1012_nf_paper.pdf
    10.1.4 -- http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/portal/pdf/portal_1014_new_features.pdf
    I hope it helps...

    Example. The "Upgrade to mySAP ERP 2005"-FAQ includes interesting remarks in section "DO CUSTOMERS NEED TO CONVERT TO A UNICODE-COMPLIANT ENVIRONMENT?"
    "...The Unicode conversion depends on the customer situation....
    ... - If your organization runs a single code page system prior to the upgrade to mySAP ERP 2005, then the use of Unicode is not mandatory. ..... However, using Unicode is recommended if the system is deployed globally to facilitate interfaces and connections.
    - If your organization uses Multiple Display Multiple Processing (MDMP) .... the use of Unicode is mandatory for the mySAP ERP 2005 upgrade....."
    In the Technical Unicode FAQ you read under "What are the advantages of Unicode ...", that "Proper usage of JAVA is only possible with Unicode systems (for example, ESS/MSS or interfaces to Enterprise Portal). ....
    => Depending on the fact if your systems support global processes, or depending on your use of Java Applications, your strategy might need to look different
    3) In particular in view of your 3rd option, I recommend you to take a look into these FAQs, if not already done.
    Remark: mySAP ERP 2005 is the former name of the application, which is named SAP ERP 6.0, now

  • Export Import single table...

    Gurus...
    I am working on this single table which needs to be exported from prod and import into test.
    As I understand I need to follow below steps:
    1. Test - export table abc dump as backup
    2. Prod - Export single table abc
    3. Test - Drop table abc cascade constraints
    4. Test - Import abc into test
    Export par file:
    Directory= dbpump
    dumpfile= expdp_abc.dmp
    logfile= expdp_abc.log
    content= all
    tables=user.abc
    exclude=statistics,object_grant, tablespace_quota
    flashback_time= systimestamp
    Import par file:
    Directory= dbpump
    dumpfile= expdp_abc.dmp
    logfile= impdp_abc.log
    content= all
    tables=user.abc
    table_exist_action=replace
    transform=segment_attributes:N
    my doubts:
    1. Is my process flow correct?
    2. Export & Import file correct? or missing parameters?
    3. What happens to all objects connected to the table, will that also imported?
    4. Do I need to lock user during this process?
    5. Any script to check whether all objects connected to table does exist in test after import?

    Hi,
    Process for table export & import.
    +1. Create database directory in test as well as production:-+
    --> create or replace directory directory_name as 'physical_path';
    --> grant acsess on that directory to user.
    +2. Backp table in test environment (in case if you need old data in your test env):-+
    --> Create table BKP_table_name as select * from table_name; (table_name u want to import)
    +3. Take Export backup in Production database:-+
    --> expdp dumpfile=file_name.dmp logfile=file_name.log directory=directory_name tables=Owner.table_name
    +4. On test server do the following actvity:-+
    a. Just check for dependencies on that table using DBA_DEPENDENCIES.
    b. Truncate table which u want to import
    c. import table-
    impdp dumpfile=file_name.dmp tables=owner.table_name logfile=file_name_imp.log directory=directory_name table_exists_action=APPEND
    d. Just check for dependencies on that table using DBA_DEPENDENCIES.
    And also you can use table_exists_action=replace
    This will also import all depedent objects to the table..

  • Export/import portal favorites

    Hi, we have NW2004 Portal SP16.  Is it possible to export/import portal favorites between users?  The reason I asked is that we are planning on using 2 LDAP data sources in production and some users will be migrated in Active Directory from companyA.com to companyB.com.  We noticed in our development environment that the favorites are gone.
    Thanks in advance

    I asked OSS and they said :
    you should be able to transport these as an
    offline package using ICE. It should simply be a case of transporting
    over the userhome directory. However, please insure that the user is
    a system principal and has full control of all the userhome
    directories otherwise you may experience problems with permissions.
    Please see the link below regarding transporting Offline content in ICE
