Kodo License with WLW

Hi,
I just downloaded the free version of WL Workshop for WL 10.1, and in turn Kodo.
The license file for Kodo says that it will expire in May 2008.
Is this true that the WLW has a non-expiring license, but its main component expires in six months?
Regards,
Ramin

Alternatively, you can also obtain the license file by the following steps:
- Create a new Kodo 4.0 web project
- Copy the file from Kodo-4.0\src\license.bea and overwrite at workshop-jpa-tutorial\web\WEB-INF\src\java

  • How to resolve BEA KODO license on WebLogic Server

Using BEA Workshop Studio 3.2 you can create Kodo provided JPA project. As part of the project creation the BEA Kodo license (license.bea) file is included within Project/src folder, so that it is available in the classpath. While running the project on WebLogic server you might face license error "kodo.persistence.PersistenceException: No product license key was found..."
The fix for this issue is to merge the kodo license.bea content into WebLogic server license.bea file.
    Edit WebLogic-server-Home\license.bea file
Edit Project\src\license.bea file, copy the content <license-group.. > .. </license-group> and paste inside WebLogic-server-Home\license.bea file NOTE: Paste the kodo license content within enclosing <bea-licenses> ... </bea-licenses> but outside of <license-group format="1.0" product="WebLogic Platform" release="xx"> tag.
With this you should be able to run the kodo project on WebLogic server.

    Folks,
Wish you a very Happy New Year!
If you run into Kodo license expiration (12/31/2006) with Workshop-JPA-Tutorial example application, please contact [email protected] for an extended license file.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.
    Thanks

  • I tested Adobe CC then bought an educational license with another ID. Lightroom Mobile does not work anymore.

I tested Adobe CC then bought an educational license with another ID. I cannot use Lightroom Mobile. Message "Evaluation version has expired is displayed" and information in Preferences showing the old ID, not the new one. Disappointing support from Adobe. How to get rid of the old information and solve the problem?

Thanks but it did not work. Adobe (USA, not France) solved the problem. My subscription was not correctly entered in the database, it seems.

  • Kodo JDO with JCA provided by Jencks in Tomcat

I'm trying to use both JDO and JCR (Apache's Jackrabbit) in my project. Both support XA
Transactions, and my understanding is that to best ensure data integrity, I should start using them.
Currently, I'm running under Tomcat using the SpringFramework support for transactions. I'd like to
continue running in Tomcat because I already understand that environment and the other app-servers
all feel heavyweight by comparison - all I need is JNDI and XA Transactions. Tomcat itself doesn't
support XA Transactions and JCA, but the open source project jencks is able to provide JCA support
    within Tomcat.
I've been looking at the Deployment section of the JDO reference guide (Chapter 8). If I'm reading
this right, all I need to do is set two properties in the jdo.properties file: kodo.TransactionMode
    and kodo.ManagedRuntime.
I've done that in my project:
    kodo.TransactionMode: managed
    kodo.ManagedRuntime: invocation(
    TransactionManagerMethod=edu.ucsc.whisper.transaction.KodoTransactionAccess.getTransactionManager )
The getTransactionManager() is a static function that returns the
    javax.transaction.TransactionManager provided by Spring's JtaTransactionManager.
I have a unit test that checks the application's initialization process, and I've been using that to
work my way into JCA transactions. Based on that test, this seems to be working. My question is this:
    Is it really that simple?
Don't get me wrong, I'll be thrilled if it is, but from everything I'm seeing about configuring the
"Big Iron" app servers (WebLogic, JBoss, etc.), it just seems like adding two properties is too easy
and that I'm probably missing something significant in the process. Can anyone confirm whether or
not I'm on the right track here?
I'm working on setting this up for my heavier-duty integration tests, but I'm concerned that if I am
missing something, I've done just enough to fake Kodo out and that it isn't actually working under
    the hood.
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Abe White wrote:
I would be surprised if your transaction manager and JDBC driver
configured themselves for XA automatically, since it imposes some
overhead and is rarely actually needed. In particular, you typically
need an XADataSource for XA transactions, rather than just using the
standard JDBC driver through the DriverManager (as Kodo does internally
when you specify ConnectionDriverName). So I suggest you consult their
documentation. As far as Kodo is concerned, though, as long as you've
    set the TransactionMode, ManagedRuntime,
DataSourceMode/ConnectionFactoryMode (depending on Kodo version), and
are using an XA DataSource, you are all set.Hi Abe,
I've been able to get Spring configured so that it uses its JtaTransactionManager, and I have Kodo
setup with the TransactionMode as Managed and the ManagedRuntime is configured to use a static
method I created that returns the TransactionManager. In my logs, I can see Kodo accessing a
non-null instance of the TransactionManager class through this method. The problem that I'm getting
is that the behavior in my unit and integration tests is different than the behavior I'm seeing when
running in Tomcat, even though the Spring and Kodo configuration are nearly identical (Kodo accesses
a different database in Tomcat than it does in testing, other than that, the configuration is the
same). All the unit and integration tests pass; this requires transactions to be created, data
written to the database through Kodo, and then read back through Kodo in a new transaction. When I
deploy the web-app to Tomcat though, Kodo suddenly thinks its running without transactions. Reading
from the database works fine because I've got non-transactional reads turned on, but as soon as I
try to alter any field of a persisted object, Kodo throws an InvalidStateException saying it doesn't
have a transaction. I've included my log output below to demonstrate.
The only thing I haven't done yet, based on your previous message, is configure my database driver
for access through JNDI within Tomcat. Would that cause errors like this, or should I be looking
    elsewhere?
My jdo.properties file contains these settings:
    # For use of JDOHelper
    javax.jdo.PersistenceManagerFactoryClass: kodo.jdo.PersistenceManagerFactoryImpl
    # For Kodo JDO 4.0 EA2 and higher
    javax.jdo.option.Connection2DriverName: org.postgresql.Driver
    javax.jdo.option.Connection2UserName: ------------
    javax.jdo.option.Connection2Password: ------------
    javax.jdo.option.Connection2URL: jdbc:postgresql://127.0.0.1:5432/my_db
    javax.jdo.option.Optimistic: true
    javax.jdo.option.RetainState: true
    javax.jdo.option.NontransactionalRead: true
    kodo.FlushBeforeQueries=true
    # For JCA Transaction support
    kodo.TransactionMode: managed
    kodo.ManagedRuntime: invocation(
    TransactionManagerMethod=edu.ucsc.whisper.transaction.KodoTransactionAccess.getTransactionManager )
    Thanks,

  • We have desktop licenses with current SA, shouldn't we be able to add MDOP?

We currently have desktop licenses with current software assurance. We would like to add MDOP, but our vendor tells us that Microsoft does not permit MDOP to be added because we purchased our licenses as Open Business + SA instead of Open Value +
SA.  This is quite a shock since all of the Microsoft documents I have found indicate that the only necessary prerequisite to MDOP is desktop licenses with SA.
Here is the applicable excerpt from the Microsoft Product List:
The MDOP home page reads "The Microsoft Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) is a suite of technologies available as a subscription for Software
    Assurance customers."
There are no qualifications, exemptions, or asterisks in there.  Am I missing something?
Is it really true that MDOP is only available for Open Value customers and not Open Business customers?

    Hi Falko,
If you open the Software Assurance Benefits: Entitlement Summary that you refer to, and hover over the Open License/MDOP
box, it reads "You may subscribe to MDOP when you have active Software Assurance coverage for the Windows desktop operating system."  It also makes sense that there is no checkbox for MDOP under Open License (and not the others) because SA is
optional for Open License (but included for the others).  We have
(the optional) "Software Assurance coverage for the Windows desktop operating system" and therefore according to that PDF, we "may subscribe to MDOP."  But, obviously, that PDF leaves a bit to interpretation and is, rightfully,
    absolutely not authoritative.
The authoritative combination of licensing documents (and their precedence) are described in the License Stack blog post.  In our case, we agreed to
the license terms when we agreed to the Open License Agreement.  The Open License Agreement references two documents that mention MDOP:
    the Product List
    the Product Use Rights
Neither the Open License Agreement, the Product List, nor the Product Use Rights documents make any distinction between Open Value and Open License when referencing MDOP.  In fact,
the only prerequisite to MDOP stated anywhere is "Active Software Assurance for the Windows Desktop Operating System".
I just don't see what I am missing.  The authoritative licensing documents are absolutely clear: If you have Software Assurance for the Windows Desktop Operating System, you are eligible to acquire licenses for MDOP.  There is no distinction
based on how you acquired your Software Assurance.
Is there a licensing professional at Microsoft that could clear this up for me please?
    Thanks for your help,
    Alex

  • Error installing a new license with visual administrator

    Hey there,
we´ve installed a SAP EP on Win 2003 Server machine with sapdb on the same host.
I ordered a license from sap an get a .txt-file back.
While installing the license with the visual administrator some java exceptions occurred, but the popup notes everything has finished succesfully - I think because the file was on a netshare on a another host.
So I copied the file to the local drive - then the import runs without an error.
After a restart of the engines ->
the license check is always displaying the "old amount" of 2 days until epxiry.
After a system reboot -> no changes
    What went wrong?

    Thomas,
Not having ABAP stack is certainly not a concern with license keys.
Once or twice before, even with following/knowing the procedure SAP on a few occasions sends out license keys that are problematic. If you havent opened up an OSS ticket to report the problem, i would do so. Or to have a quicker resolution, you could apply for a new license, but I would include as much information on your customer profile on https://service.sap.com/licensekey.

Another way is to open a command prompt as nspadm and run saplicense -install
To do this follow the steps below
Click "Start" -> "Run..." and enter:
    runas /u:nspadm cmd
Enter nspadm's password. A command prompt appears running as user nspadm. Now change to \usr\sap\nsp\SYS\exe\run and run
    saplicense -install
    Hope this helps.

  • How/when do we get the Captivate 8 upgrade for our volume license with Adobe Software Assurance?

    Hi all,
We bought Captivate 6 as a volume license with a two-year ASA maintenance and support agreement, which is supposed to include all patches and upgrades. That already got us upgraded from Captivate 6 to 7. However, we've had no similar message regarding the upgrade to Captivate 8. As suggested in another discussion, I tried downloading the Cap 8 trial and using our Cap 7 serial number, but it was not accepted.
Hints, suggestions, prophecies, authoritative Adobe statements all welcome. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
We are still processing orders for Adobe Captivate 8 under ASA support agreement, soon you will get information about your order.
If you do not see your order, Please share your Order Information (Order Number or Serial Number for Captivate 7 or Captivate 6) with us on [email protected]

  • Can I create a 2012 home license with a 2013 volume license server?

I am having trouble getting a new installation of LV2012 SP1 to see the home license. I have to change computers at home so I am trying to move my install from one computer to the other. While I have given my IT person the new computer name and ID and they have generated the necessary file, Labview does not see the LV2012 SP1 installation I have. It is still in "evaluation mode". While my IT has upgraded the volume license server to 2013, all of my teams have not yet moved to 2013. So can I (or my IT) create a 2012 SP1 home license with a 2013 volume license server? Or is the problem with my new computer?

The license should be good for any version older than the current SSP is under.  So somebody with a license for LabVIEW 2013 can activate LabVIEW 2012 as well.  It is sounding like something is wrong with your new setup.

  • Use of SPLA licensing with Azure RemoteApp

We are an ISV looking to deploy some of our applications using RemoteApp. Many of our applications interact with Excel and we were wondering if we could use SPLA licensing with RemoteApp instead of requiring our users to use Office 365 subscriptions.
Let me know what our options are.

    Hi Greg,
Yes, you can license Office to your Azure RemoteApp users via SPLA, subject to the terms of your Service Provider License Agreement and the Service Provider Use Rights (SPUR) document.  Azure is considered a Data Center Provider, and Office Professional
Plus 2013 and Office Standard 2013 both have "Eligible for Software Services on Data Center Providers’ Servers:
    Yes".
Please download and read the Universal License Terms, SAL General License Terms Desktop Applications section, and product-specific (Office Pro/Standard) license terms section(s) in the SPUR for specific details, as well as your Service Provider
    License Agreement.

  • Downloading Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended License with no internet connection

My office needs to purchase four (4) Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended Licenses for four separate/independent computers.  These computers in no way can access the internet to download.
I am told by resellers that CD disks are not available for the download, is this correct?
Also, the resellers are telling me that I can purchase a media kit for the download.  My question is can 1 media kit complete all four downloads or would I be required to purchase 4 media kits.  We are receiving different responses from the resellers we have contacted.
    Appreciate your time,
    Stephanie Murphree
    Contracting Officer

You can download and burn the trial of Photoshop CS6 to disc or you can purchase one physical copy of the software.  The installer does not count how many times you install.  The serial number you receive with your purchase is what allows you to license and utilize your software.
